Kaleidoscope of Death

Chapter 131 - Ghosts.

Behind the elevator door, there was a dimly lit tunnel on the first floor, no different from the usual. However, the faint fishy smell of blood in the air reminded Lin Qiushi that things were not as simple as he thought.

However, when he turned a corner, he saw three identical-looking little girls in dresses standing in front of him.

The red liquid dripping from the cake was the source of the fishy smell that Lin Qiushi smelled. The most frightening thing was a woman's head placed at the top of the cake, her eyes were still open and she was looking at Lin Qiushi unwillingly.

This grotesque scene was so creepy that Lin Qiushi saw them and remembered the clue he had passed to the door for the Firsia Bird. Without a doubt, they were the triplets that Lin Qiushi had once seen inside the door....

The triplets stood in the doorway, turning their heads to look at Lin Qiushi, their faces pulled up into stiff smiles, and their mouths began to sing Happy Birthday to you. One of the girls, slowly raised her hand and pointed to the top of her head, then said, "Little brother, aren't you going to eat cake with us?"

Lin Qiushi didn't dare to respond to her question, he turned around and walked away, heading for another exit.

It was a good thing that the three triplets just watched him leave, they didn't mean to chase after him.

Lin Qiushi ran so fast that he reached the door in a flash, only he was about to go out when he remembered the movement of one of the girls in the triplets, she seemed to be pointing at the top of her head - what did this movement mean, was there something on the ceiling?

To be honest, looking up at the ceiling wasn't a pleasant thing to do in a situation like this, but Lin Qiushi took out his phone, turned on his torch, and slowly raised his head to cast the light in his hand onto the ceiling. His movements were slow and ready to turn and run at any moment, but to his relief, there was nothing above the ceiling-

When Lin Qiushi saw this, he put away his cell phone, exhaled and lifted his steps to go out, but just as he was about to step out of the corridor, an indescribable sense of crisis suddenly hit his heart. Lin Qiushi's footsteps reflexively made a start, and at this instant, a corpse actually fell from the roof of the building and smashed straight in front of Lin Qiushi.

The corpse fell from upstairs and smashed to pieces, its head was like a watermelon falling from a high place.

Lin Qiushi bypassed his corpse and walked quickly inside the neighborhood, he stepped on the stone path and looked towards the apartment behind him. It was actually on the outer wall of the apartment that he saw a person lying down, who was slowly climbing down from a high place, completely ignoring gravity. The place, then buried his face into Cheng Wen's corpse and began to gnaw and chew, like a beast foraging for food.

Lin Qiushi withdrew his gaze after just one glance, not knowing whether it was the heat or the excitement of what had happened, he was now covered in sweat, drops of water falling down his chin, Lin Qiushi walked in the community and looked at the scenery around him, he was a bit dazed for a moment, he felt that there was no safe place here, any place that was shrouded in darkness could have a monster's figure.

As Lin Qiushi walked towards the entrance of the community, he actually saw two people standing at the entrance of the community, Lin Qiushi saw their faces and even remembered their names clearly - Xiong Lacquer and Xiao Ke. They were the same two humans that Lin Qiushi had once seen in the first door.

Xiong Lacquer and Xiao Ke seemed to have seen Lin Qiushi as well, waving their hands towards Lin Qiushi from afar and saying, "Come here, come here quickly!"

Lin Qiushi's footsteps were slightly hesitant, he wasn't sure if the two people who appeared here were human or ghost.

"It's Bai Jie who told us to come pick you up." Xiao Ke shouted from afar, "It's too dangerous where you live, Bai Jie asked us to bring you over-"

In the meantime, Lin Qiushi looked behind him, he took a glance towards himself, the figures of Wang Qiuyi and Cheng Wen had both disappeared into the night, but the dark apartment building still gave a strong sense of uncertainty. Lin Qiushi walked up to them and didn't get too close.

"Did Bai Jie send you guys to pick me up?" Lin Qiushi asked Curtis.

"Yeah." Curt said, "She was afraid something would happen to you, so she called us over."

"Where is she now?" Lin Qiushi said.

"She? She's at her house right now waiting for us to come over." Ko replied, "Hurry up and get in the car, we'll explain to you slowly in the car." After saying that, she pulled open the car door in front of her and motioned for Lin Qiushi to get in quickly.

Lin Qiushi walked to the door and took a look towards the car.

Xiao Ke was still hurrying behind her, seemingly in a great hurry, but Lin Qiushi suddenly noticed something and his steps that he was about to step into the car suddenly stopped.

"What's wrong with you?" Curt asked, "That thing is coming, don't waste time."

"Since you were sent here by Paige to pick me up, you should know his real name, right?" Lin Qiushi closed his footsteps, his eyes on the ground, but his footsteps were slowly retreating.

Ko frowned, "I know her real name, I just can't say it here, it'll be overheard by something else, so hurry up..." she looked at Lin Qiushi who had stopped, but her voice was becoming more and more irritable, and in the end it was literally shrieking . "I told you to get in the car, we don't have much time!!!"

When Lin Qiushi saw this, he turned around and ran, ignoring the cries of Xiao Ke and Xiong Lacquer, and Xiao Ke could only watch Lin Qiushi leave with miserable cries on his lips, and just as Lin Qiushi turned back to the neighborhood, a huge figure appeared on the other side of the road.

It was a tall woman with a grotesque figure and a long-handled axe dragged in her hand, slowly walking towards Xiao Ke and Xiong Lacquer.

The two panicked and got into the car in front of them, trying to start the vehicle to leave the place, but the car, which was originally normal looking, turned into a papier-mâché fake car at this time.

The woman walked up to the two of them, raised her hand, raised her axe high, and then struck down heavily, splitting Curt directly in half.

Bear Paint was the second, and they were both cut off at the waist, their mouths screaming miserably, but they were slow to break, struggling on the ground.

Lin Qiushi hid in the corner of the block and watched all of this, he reached out and covered his mouth, afraid that his breathing Mrs., had attracted the attention of the tall woman outside. This monster was the monster that Lin Qiushi had seen turned into a statue of a god in the first door, in the ancient temple, and after she cut down the bear paint and Ko, she looked around again, and when she didn't find Lin Qiushi, she turned away with her axe.

They were moaning on the road, and Ke was uttering vicious curses, as if he was cursing Lin Qiushi.

Lin Qiushi didn't know what happened to Xiong Lacquer and Ke inside the door after he left, but from the experience he accumulated later, he was afraid that these two were not good people, but the kind of old people who deliberately got close to the newcomers with an agenda. But luckily, Lin Qiushi met Ruan Nanzhu, so he avoided a disaster. As for what they encountered inside the door in the end, Lin Qiushi wasn't sure....

The reason he had just noticed Curtis's abnormality was because he saw only a shadow of himself cast on the ground under the streetlight. But Little Ke and Bear Paint didn't cast any shadow under the light, which made Lin Qiushi feel that something was wrong, so he decisively turned away and escaped.

At this moment, Lin Qiushi had vaguely understood the meaning of no solution in the clue. This door was insoluble, life was only hidden in the door, and perhaps a certain small detail was the way to survive. Of course, whether or not one could discover it would only depend on one's luck.

Lin Qiushi stood in the neighborhood, not knowing for a moment where he should go, but he knew that he should leave, because the Happy Birthday song was getting louder and louder, and getting closer and closer to him.

So Lin Qiushi stood up and slowly walked out of the neighborhood, he looked back and really saw the triplets pushing the cake towards him, the head on top of the cake slowly turned in a circle and cast a grudging look towards him.

Lin Qiushi, however, was used to such stares, and he looked back with a blank expression, sending a scowl along with it.

The triplets, however, giggled happily as they stood at the entrance of the neighborhood, watching Lin Qiushi's figure disappear at the end of the dark road, standing on their tiptoes and hugging the head on the cake for a kiss, and then happily calling out to their mother.

As Lin Qiushi walked down the road, only dim street lamps illuminated the road beneath his feet around him.

The surrounding shops that were originally full of life were all closed, it was like another world here, with only death and terror to follow.

Lin Qiushi stared at his phone for a while, he wanted to call Ruan Nanzhu again and ask him how he was doing, but he was afraid that Ruan Nanzhu's side was in dire need and his call would directly kill Ruan Nanzhu.

After thinking for a moment, Lin Qiushi sent a message to Ruan Nam Candle, asking how he was doing.

It took a while before Lin Qiushi replied back: I'm playing hide and seek with something strange.

Although these words were playful, a hidden murderous intent could be seen in them, and Lin Qiushi smiled bitterly: Hide-and-seek? What door is this for you?

Ruan Nam Candle: The second fan.

Lin Qiushi: What's the clue?

Nguyen Nam Candle: The clue is...hide and seek.

Lin Qiushi; "..." just a few words, but a layer of cold sweat broke out on his back, and even his emotions became a little agitated, he now wanted to go to Ruan Nan Candle's side and accompany him through everything, but this thought was obviously difficult to achieve at this time, Lin Qiushi raised his hand and looked at the time, it was now two in the morning, at least three or four hours before dawn.

She came over, I won't talk to you yet, baby, I love you - this was the last text message that Ruan Nan Candle sent to Lin Qiushi tonight.

The company has been in the process of developing the new product for the past two years, and has been working on the new product for a long time.

Lin Qiushi walked along the road, the road seemed to have no end until Lin Qiushi came to a crossroads. From afar, Lin Qiushi saw that in the middle of the crossroads, there was a person crouched, his back was to him, his head down and he was stuffing something into the burning fire pan.

Lin Qiushi watched the man, not daring to get too close, he observed from afar and found that the man was burning meditation coins for the dead.

The meditation coins that had been burned to ash whirled and rushed up into the black sky. Because he was about to enter the house, Lin Qiushi had studied a lot of B&B legends and knew that there were some particulars about the meditation coins after they were burned to ash, such as spinning was an indication that the person below had received the money....

Lin Qiushi hesitantly looked at the image in front of him and was trying to decide whether or not to turn around and go back, but then he heard a kind of creepy footsteps coming from behind him.

Lin Qiushi turned his head, and through the pitch-black night, he saw a tall figure walking towards the end of the road, the figure was against the light, and although he couldn't really see it, from its outline, it was clearly the female ghost that had just split Bear Paint and Ko in half.

The area around this was empty, there was no place to hide, so Lin Qiushi had no choice but to continue forward, leaning against the wall trying to pass the crossroads in front of him.

As he walked, he carefully observed the old man burning paper in the middle of the crossroads, he should have seen this person before, but he couldn't quite remember because of the time that had passed.

Just as Lin Qiushi was about to pass through the crossroads, he saw the old man put a hand into the burning ash tray in front of him, then his body began to carbonize rapidly, but Lin Qiushi caught the tiny sound coming out of his mouth, he was saying, "Dead man, dead man... only the dead can escape. " After he said this, his entire body straightened into a coke, and the monster behind him, as if it had smelled the unusual scent of the place, quickened its pace.

The monster was huge and carried an axe in its hand, that axe would occasionally fall to the ground, making a sound of metal and stone rubbing against each other.

Lin Qiushi didn't dare to stop here anymore and ran forward, he didn't forget to observe his surroundings as he ran wildly and noticed some changes in his surroundings.

Some white lanterns and garlands were hung in front of the shops, resembling a ritual of worship.

What made Lin Qiushi stop in his tracks were the black coffins placed next to the road, these coffins appeared abruptly, just straight across the road.

The monster behind him seemed to have sensed where Lin Qiushi was and came towards him, if he continued to run at his normal speed, Lin Qiushi would be caught in a few minutes.

Lin Qiushi panted rapidly, staring at the black coffin, a crazy idea popping up in his head. He knew that there was no time to hesitate, so he turned around and walked directly in front of the coffin, reaching out and pushing it open with all his might.

Lin Qiushi originally thought that the coffin was empty, but after pushing it open, he found that there was actually a corpse inside the coffin, the corpse looked slightly familiar, as if he had seen it somewhere before, but Lin Qiushi couldn't care less about thinking about it, he bit his teeth and climbed right in, then closed the lid of the coffin.

"Da... da... da..." through the coffin, Lin Qiushi heard the monster's footsteps getting closer and closer, and finally seemed to stay around him, her nose twitching, trying to find out where her prey was going from the air.

However, as if some smell disturbed her search, the monster gave a low, strange cry, and then the sound faded away.

Lin Qiushi lay in the coffin, numbness on his expression, the corpse lying next to him seemed to have just died, his skin was still soft and even seemed to have some warmth to it. Lin Qiushi was chanting Do Not Blame in his heart, after the sounds from outside disappeared, he was about to raise his hand to lift the lid of the coffin, but he felt his wrist was actually suddenly grabbed directly by another hand.

"!!!" Lin Qiushi almost screamed when he was caught, but his other hand actually covered his mouth, making him hold the sound in his throat.

"It's not gone yet." The corpse beside him actually opened his mouth, although the voice was small, but Lin Qiushi stared at it after hearing it - this voice was all too familiar to him, it actually belonged to Li Dongyuan!

The coffin was too dark for Lin Qiushi to see anything, and he was gripped by the corpse beside him that had the same voice as Li Dongyuan, his heart beating so hard that it literally felt like it was going to jump right out of his own throat.

"It's not gone yet." The person beside him said again, and Lin Qiushi vaguely understood what he meant and stopped struggling hard.

After the silence lasted for about ten minutes, Lin Qiushi heard a woman's incomparably furious growl, which was only separated by a thin layer of coffin board, so it could be imagined that it was very close to Lin Qiushi, even right beside him.

Then the woman's voice grew distant, and the corpse holding onto Lin Qiushi's body beside him loosened its grip, Lin Qiushi pushed open the coffin lid above his own head, and this time finally got a clear look at the face of the person lying beside him - it was the Lai Dongyuan who should have been dead.

"Long time no see ah." Li Dongyuan curled his eyes and gave a smile to Lin Qiushi.

Lin Qiushi's eyes stared at him as if he wanted to stare a flower in his face with his gaze.

"What are you looking at me like that for?" Li Dongyuan also climbed up from the coffin and straightened his hair, "I just saved you, but you won't thank me?"

Lin Qiushi: "What the hell are you..."

"A dead man." Although Lin Qiushi didn't finish his words, Li Dongyuan had already guessed what he wanted to say and laughed, "I'm a dead man."

Lin Qiushi looked at him hesitantly, but Li Dongyuan grabbed Lin Qiushi's hand and pressed it against his chest, and as expected, it was calm there, unable to feel any heartbeat.

"You're really dead?" Lin Qiushi stretched out a hand to wipe his face and said, "Then why did you appear here? Where the hell is here?"

Li Dongyuan listened to Lin Qiushi's question, but smiled without saying anything, he pointed to the top of his head and said, "It's still a long time until dawn, do you want to sleep for a while longer?"

Lin Qiushi: "Where do you sleep? In a coffin?"

Li Dongyuan said, "The coffin is also safer than you running around here."

Lin Qiushi wanted to say more, but he heard footsteps again, and this time he closed the lid of the coffin himself without the need for Li Dongyuan to do it.

In the darkness, the two of them looked at each other, Lin Qiushi had too many questions he wanted to ask, he wanted to ask Li Dongyuan what was going on, but Li Dongyuan didn't look like he really wanted to answer those questions.

"I know what you want to ask." Li Dong Yuan said so, "but I can't answer it because I don't understand it myself."

"Do you have any memories of your own death?" Lin Qiushi asked.

"Of course I did." Li Dongyuan said, "I still remember jumping to my death." There was more than a little silence in his tone, "I just don't know what happened to that girl."

"Zhuang Ru皎?" Lin Qiushi said, "She is so good that she has inherited your White Deer."

Li Dongyuan was silent for a moment and laughed bitterly, "Where is this considered a good thing." Watching the little girl he was protecting grow up was not really a particularly happy thing, because growth always came with an extremely painful price.

So they quieted down again, and Lin Qiushi looked at the coffin lid above his head and stared at it. He didn't dare to say too much because it kept circling around him.

As time passed, it was five o'clock and the sky seemed to be about to break.

Sleepiness swept over Lin Qiushi and he tried to hold on, but he felt like he had never been so sleepy before.

"Sleep." Li Dongyuan's voice came out, "See you tomorrow night."

Lin Qiushi closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

The sleep was extremely heavy, and when he woke up again, it was already dawn, he got up and actually saw himself lying on his own bed, with Chestnut lying next to his pillow, looking at him in a good manner.

There were no monsters, no blood, and the door was fine, but everything that happened last night seemed to be just a grotesque nightmare, Lin Qiushi let out a long breath and picked up his phone to dial a certain number again.

After a few seconds of waiting, a not surprising voice came from the other end of the phone, and the phone that was clearly able to get through last night turned out to be an empty number once again. Lin Qiushi searched through the short mailbox, but he also didn't see the message from Ruan Nan Candle.

"Alright." Lin Qiushi said to himself, "See you tonight."

The author had something to say: Lai Dong Yuan: Aha, long time no see!

Lin Qiushi: Totally... only surprised.
