Kicked Out, Flash-Married, and Now He Won't Let Me Go

Chapter 95: Holding a Great-Grandchild?

Throughout breakfast, Vivian Lowell was constantly being fed by Grandma Faulkner. She found it very strange. Although Grandma Faulkner usually helped her to food, she had never given her this much!

Fifteen minutes later.

Vivian was feeling a bit stuffed. She put down her chopsticks, wiped her mouth, and said to Grandma Faulkner, "Grandma, I’m full. You’ve worked hard, so you should eat more too."

"Not at all, not at all." Grandma Faulkner waved her hand, her eyes filled with gratification.

She had seen everything! When her eldest grandson came downstairs, the tips of his ears were a little red, and she even smelled a very faint fragrance on him! She remembered this fragrance! It was the same faint scent that Vivian had on her!

She had been looking forward to it for so long; her eldest grandson and Vivian had finally taken a step further! She wondered, "My health isn’t good, but if I can live to see a great-grandson born, it will be a very happy thing, won’t it?"

Approaching seven o’clock.

Under Grandma Faulkner’s "enthusiastic" gaze, Vivian and Julian Faulkner left. Vivian sat in the same car as Vance Wyatt, while Julian got into another one.

As they were leaving, Vivian habitually glanced back at Julian. With just that one glance, Vivian realized that Julian was also looking right at her. His eyes were somewhat gentle, just like today’s weather—breezy and clear. The early spring sunlight was truly comfortable in every way.

"Madam and President Faulkner have such a great relationship!" Vance said enviously.

Vivian immediately turned her head back, shot Vance a look, and suddenly put on a straight face. "No, you’re mistaken," she said seriously. "I just turned around to look at him, that’s all."

Vance fell silent. He understood! Madam was indeed President Faulkner’s wife. When it came to being stubbornly in denial, she was exactly the same as the president! As his assistant, he knew everything, but unfortunately, this kind of thing wasn’t something he could just say out loud! Holding it in was killing him!

Vance thought this over in his mind, and suddenly a figure popped into his head. He figured he could actually tell her about this! Yes, they were in the same camp. It shouldn’t matter if she knew!

On the way back to the company, Vance told Vivian a few things about the Lowell Family and the Grant Family.

Through Julian’s maneuvering, eighty percent of the companies that previously had business collaborations with the Lowell Family chose to terminate their contracts. Citing internal credibility issues within the Lowell Family, they demanded compensation.

"This isn’t a small amount," Vance couldn’t help but click his tongue as he spoke. "It looks like the Lowell Family won’t have an easy time for a while. These compensation fees might just empty out all their assets."

Hearing the figure Vance mentioned, Vivian shook her head and said, "It’s more than just emptying out their assets. The Lowell Family simply can’t come up with that much money."

Vance was a bit surprised. He had investigated the Lowell Family’s revenue; their profit margins had been very high over the years. Surely it wasn’t to the point where they couldn’t afford to pay?

Seeing this, Vivian explained, "Robert Lowell likes to bet on football. He always secretly asks someone to place bets for him in HK. However, as they say, nine out of ten gamblers lose. He has lost quite a lot.

"But he doesn’t really have a gambling addiction. In the past, he mostly bet on football because he had business dealings with clients over there.

"When it comes to business talent, Robert does have some. He’s quite a pro at socializing."

Hearing this, Vance understood. He knew it. President Faulkner had personally stepped in, yet twenty percent of those who had cooperated with the Lowell Family were still willing to stand by their side. It was truly unbelievable. Now it seemed that Robert did have some capability.

After a moment of thought, Vance brought up Sharon Galahad and Shelly Lowell.

After the financial loopholes and embezzlement were exposed, Sharon had a hard time. Robert protecting Sharon was a matter of "having no other choice." But after protecting her... Robert had flown into a rage and reportedly even hit Sharon. She was admitted to the hospital a couple of days ago. Shelly had been staying with her the whole time. She hadn’t been discharged yet, and it was unknown how she was doing.

"It’s a pity she wasn’t beaten to death," Vance said with some regret. "Speaking of which, Mason Grant has even run to the hospital several times to visit Sharon, and he even sent over a few fruit baskets.

"This prospective son-in-law is really attentive!"

Vivian shot Vance a glance. Seeing the sarcastic smile playing at the corners of Vance’s mouth, she couldn’t help but say, "He is quite attentive."

As for what his true intentions were, and what exactly Mason was scheming, Vivian had no idea.

After chatting for a while, they arrived downstairs at the Faulkner Group. After parking the car, Vance pressed the elevator button and said to Vivian, "Madam, go ahead with your work. I still need to organize some files for President Faulkner after I go upstairs. If you need anything, just call me."

"Okay." Vivian patted Vance’s shoulder appreciatively. After reaching her company’s floor, she stepped out.

At the company.

When Vivian arrived, someone was surprisingly already there. Vivian was surprised, but when she saw that it was Leo, she felt it was normal.

"Leo, you’re here so early?" Vivian glanced at her phone. It was only seven thirty.

She herself was the boss, so arriving this early for the development of her own company was understandable. But for an employee like Leo, this was really...

Hearing that Vivian had arrived, Leo looked up with a pleasant surprise. Hugging her laptop, she walked over and said, "These are the collaborative design drafts with Sonia.

"I pretty much finished them last night. I came in early this morning to do some more drawing, and now they’re basically done. Vivian, take a look and see what you think.

"After all, you pay me a high salary! It’s even higher than my annual salary at the Lowell Group. Of course, I have to work hard to do right by the company!"

"..."

Vivian truly admired Leo. The reason Leo was still a highly eligible bachelorette was because she was a workaholic who fiercely loved her job, leaving her absolutely no time to date. She felt that wasting her time trying to manage a romance that might not even lead anywhere was nowhere near as good as working hard to earn money. At least with money in hand, she felt secure.

Vivian was completely unable to refute this. She now seriously examined Leo’s design drafts and could only say, "They’re very good. I’m also very satisfied. There’s nothing that needs improvement.

"When we have our meeting at ten o’clock later, you guys can hand this project over to Party A first. Then we’ll make modifications based on their requirements!"

Seeing that the drafts were approved, Leo was very happy. After closing the window containing the design drafts, she mysteriously asked Vivian about another matter.

"Vivian, do you know which designer the Lowell Group hired this time to complete the design drafts for their ’Swan’ series?"

Hmm? Looking at Leo’s expression, Vivian got the feeling there was some kind of "secret" involved, so she asked, "Who is it?"
