Kikanshita Yuusha no Gojitsudan

Episode 160: The European Precious Road of the Brave

How did this happen?

I'm being investigated at a police station in London right now.

Even so, it's a small, dim, like a common detective drama, not so much an interview room or anything, but a large, bright window, a room with a small area but an atmosphere like a company meeting room.

Um, two police officers on my front and right.

The last explosion, it was me on the spot, but somehow I was caught mistaken for the killer.

Of course I won't resist. I have absolutely nothing to be guilty of in the first place, and if you explain the circumstances, you'll soon see that I've just entered the country.

Well, as soon as I was willing to run away, but I got away with it, because in that case, my dad and I would be annoyed. I was optimistic about it because it was not a developing country where justice was applied arbitrarily.

Although it was only at first that I was stuck with my pistol, the fact that I explained the situation without running or resisting gave the police officer a proper gentleman's response. The boulder is the kingdom of Gentleman.

However, according to sightings of someone who had seen something like a box in a trash can with an explosion, he was a young Oriental, which is a situation where he was kept until he checked with a security camera or something like that from the time he entered the country in case he checked his travel route to that explosion.

Still, in the case of the United Kingdom, police custody is in principle limited to 24 hours (which can be extended to a maximum of 96 hours depending on the crime and the circumstances leading up to arrest), so we'll figure it out by then. I really don't like it though.

'I'm sorry, but please wait a little longer. I don't think it's a problem, because this is also my job.'

'Ha, well, I have no choice. However, I don't really want to wait because I want to rendezvous with them soon either. I came to London at the corner, so I wanted to go sightseeing or something.'

I answer a police officer who seems a little sorry with a bitter laugh.

"It is painful for us to restrain those who act in good faith."

In the meantime, he explains that I was at the blast scene rushing to do that life-saving thing because there might be some injuries or something.

I didn't lie, and I think you believed that because I showed you the Advanced Lifesaving Course Certificate issued in Japan when you were brought to the police station. I don't know if you can believe a mere amateur tourist saying the same thing, but being ”educated” to the extent of the course should add credibility.

By the way, anyone can get this Advanced Lifesaving Course Completion Certificate, a lifesaving course regularly conducted by the national fire department. Heart massage, artificial respiration, first aid, AED usage, and more are taught. It takes almost a whole day, but you should take it if you want to do something against someone who is usually not taught but who is sick or injured that anyone could encounter.

In the touring circle I belong to, they teach everyone to take it.

The police officers who initially looked at me with a harsh eye when I was detained also seemed to have cleared their suspicions as they spoke, and now they respond to the chatter peacefully.

I'd like you to release me if you can, but the witness testimony was similar in appearance to mine, so I'm being held ”arbitrarily” until I can get confirmation. It's only arbitrary (he explained it properly), so I can go out and force him, but I don't like being suspected of strange things, and I have been in touch with my father, so I'm waiting for him very long.

It's a corner, so I kill time listening to the security and police traits of the whole of England and London, and this (supposedly) terrorist attack.

According to this, the police in London is a bit of a tricky organization.

The majority of the city of London is also known in Japan as the "Scottish Yard" (the name became known because the location of the first headquarters was facing the street called Scottish Yard, and it continued even after the location was moved. The London Police Department, known by its popular name as Sakurada Gate, is under the jurisdiction of the former Edo Castle because of the fact that the police headquarters were located in front of Sakurada Gate), but the heart of London, the Stock Exchange, the Bank of England and the area known as City of London, where the main corporate headquarters are gathered, is under the jurisdiction of the City of London Police.

The management of the organisation also has the London Police Department as Home Secretary and the City of London Police as a standing committee appointed by the City Council. This is also not uniform and technically differs in the content of the powers.

And this is also a famous story, but British police officers basically don't usually carry pistols. The same seems to be true of Ireland, Iceland, Norway and New Zealand in the major countries, but this seems to be the historical context. At the time the police organisation was created in London in the nineteenth century, the military was feared by its citizens. So to distinguish him from an army of red uniforms with weapons, police officers said he wore blue uniforms without weapons.

Do you think that the police are only part of the citizens and that weapons are based on the philosophy of building walls between them and the citizens?

However, it seems that police officers on duty in Manchester were frequently attacked with guns and hand-throated bullets in 2012 and in various European countries, and that armed police officers have been increased in England in the wake of terrorist incidents in the Capitol, while at the same time police officers are temporarily armed in cases of suspected terrorism.

So I got my gun stuck. That means I'm a pretty rare case. Wow...... ha.

I also asked him about this explosion, and he said that the bomb was installed as the trash can was the reason for the less damage.

Because there are quite a few more trash cans installed in London that are made of rugged iron and yet have shock-absorbing buffers on the inside as a countermeasure to terrorism?

So it seems that this explosion also required only some shock wave damage and extended burning of leaked flammable material.

However, he's stepped up his alert by saying that there have been several bomb attacks, including this one.

Kacha.

'I got confirmation. As Mr. Kashiwagi testified, there is no indication of contact with anyone or the planting of a bomb in the trash on a hotel, restaurant or transit route from the airport'.

'And so it is. I'm sorry I detained you for your precious time. Please enjoy London and England.'

Approximately three hours in custody. Finally liberated.

Naturally it's not funny on the inside, but it would be wrong to complain because these people are also important people who run to maintain security. Besides, I didn't get an unpleasant attitude or anything because I was a foreigner.

It's already dark outside when you leave the police station. Even so, it's not surprising because winter in London seems to get dark already after 15: 00.

It just amplifies the cold so that the fine misty rain that often falls in the winter stains.

London is 51 degrees north. North of Hokkaido, it is about the latitude of the middle of Sakhalin, but the winter climate itself is not so different from that of Tokyo because of the current. You think it doesn't snow much either? However, it often rains like this for a short time.

The police officer refuses to drive me, and I walk to the hotel where my fathers are waiting.

I'm getting hungry about now, but I'm just a little patient because my fathers may not have eaten it.

"Oops! Thank you for your patience."

"Good luck, Kashiwagi-san! Was it okay?

When I arrived at the hotel, my father and senior Zhaoxiong greeted me in the lobby.

Regardless of your mushy father's comments, I apologize for the concern.

I'm going to the restaurant to ask the hotel people because they didn't have a meal yet, and they're going to serve me Zibier dishes that I can eat without reservation.

British cuisine, which for some reason is said not to be delicious, but hunting, one of the traditional cultures of England, its prey, Zibier cuisine, is one of the specialties.

Wild meat dishes are eaten scattered in different worlds, but I would definitely like to try it on Earth, not in different worlds where there are not many seasonings, or spices, etc.

You can eat boars and deer in Japan, and these days you can usually buy ducks in the supermarket, but that's where it is.

I also want to try something a little different.

So this time I decided to eat plenty with my luxury, not my father.

Luxury, I guess? But it would be good once in a while. If it tastes good, I'll bring everyone along.

What I asked for was rabbit pie with plenty of rabbit (in fact, ambulatory) meat, the closest wildlife in the UK.

It was a relentless cooking of rabbits familiar to Peter Rabbit and Alice in Wonderland.

Then a whole roast of grouse (lycho) that will taste the best from fall to winter.

Ask for appropriate picks, warm vegetables, soups, bread, etc. And wine.

And that flavor at the heart is,

"That's not bad. I want some dry sake. It's a bit of a habit, but it's delicious again."

"It's really delicious. The pie is a bit habitual, but it tastes intense, and the birds over here have a unique aroma, don't they? Thank you Kashiwagi!

Appears to be well received.

Both your father and Senior Zhaoxiong are eating wine gubbily.

I also thought it would be all meat and fatherly kudos, but Givier meat doesn't seem particularly problematic because it's low in fat. I mean, I see mountain-like food. I see it. It's diminishing.

Regardless of his current college senior, his father is also quite a healthy family.

I wasn't eating so much in Italy because of a lot of cheese, but if you cook with less oil, they can eat quite a bit.

Me?

Are you even eating it silently?

We ate even and realized that "British food tastes bad" was just reputational damage, while finishing our meal.

It was just sweet enough for all three of them to gib up, even though there was only one dessert that Senior Zhaoxiong asked for out of interest. Sugar is better enough already. I definitely think the bad reviews of British food are caused by dessert.

Leave that alone, it was totally raining when we left the restaurant.

It is cold when it comes to boulders in the middle of winter, but it is not so hard when it comes to the lack of wind.

Even at night, time isn't so slow yet, so many people are walking down the street.

Nor is the atmosphere as tense as Naples or Milan, as if walking in Japan. Nor is it excessive to complain about Europe's best security.

"What will you do after this?

"Uh-huh, I'd love to swallow some more, but I want to go around some bikers in the city tomorrow morning. Rest early."

"Right. I'm a little tired of traveling, too, and I was wondering if I'd like to relax at the hotel."

They both go back to the hotel and rest.

What should I do?

I'm not a kid, and if the two of you are going back to the hotel, you won't have to be together, and I still have enough physically. I also just ate a dish full of wild flavors that seem to come with stamina.

Besides, I'm under a lot of stress because of the daytime incident. I want to walk around London at night and dissipate a little.

I can go back to Japan with the transfer, but the other time is still before dawn. Exactly. Everyone will still be asleep. We're all busy in the morning.

"Ahhh, I'm going to walk around the city for a bit. We're going to the hotel together, so let's break up there."

"So, are you okay? Isn't Kashiwagi worried?"

"If you flirt too late, the police will catch you again? Well, fine. Come to the lobby tomorrow at ten."

Don't make me want to cry about my trust.

In the meantime, I'll take my dads to the hotel and walk out toward the center town.

Even so, the city of London, the true centre, is also a financial district, so the centre seems to be quiet at night. However, there seem to be a number of places around which pubs and restaurants can connect houses, so I think I'll walk around.

However, I'd like to avoid the Soho district, the famous entertainment district, a bit because they call it a gay town now.

It's not that I'm prejudiced against LGBT people, but I don't think it's going to be physical or raccoon thoughts, so let's stop going.

I think we should go to an area where people get together first, and go for Piccadilly Circus. Even when it comes to circuses, it is not that of an imaginary group of curved arts, but the name of a square in West End, Westminster District, with the term meaning circular vacant land at the confluence of the streets.

It also seems to be an area where the theatre is gathered, and there are many crowds at night.

The streets are lined with pubs and restaurants, with impressions of neon brilliant downtown.

Enjoy a relaxing stroll with a peek at some retailers, pubs, etc.

It's quite interesting to just walk in a different atmosphere from Tokyo.

"Oops!

Avoid hitting yourself by twisting yourself tightly as people crossed in front of you as you jumped out of a thin alley.

Or if it wasn't for me, I'd have definitely bumped into you. It's dangerous.

If you jumped out, you pass beside me without even a glance.

Moments, the person, I don't know the face because he was dressed like a mask on his hat, but I think he's tall and would be a man from his outfit, but the smell that drifted from caught me in the corner of my memory.

Yeah? Where'd you sniff that?

A peculiar odor. Somewhere, I think I smelled that recently for what it's worth too...

As I stopped my leg and twitched my memory, I looked at you because I heard a dokan.

Apparently a drunk hit somewhere, holding his head down and making it look painful.

At that moment, the memories fitted in tightly.

That smell, that smell of combustible material I think I smelled when the trash can exploded and flamed.

If I knew that, I wouldn't be able to leave you alone.

I see a man walking away in a hurry.

There he is!

Much ahead, but the hindsight looks chilling.

Well, how can you?

I ran out after that.
