#5.5 Kuro's Adventure

The artificial island arc moves slowly but changes position from time to time. It is hard to find in the vast Pacific without guidance from central headquarters. Many dry artificial islands at astronomical expense are unauthorized for students.

“Hmph. My shoulder hurts. ”

Kuro has had regular checkups with Dr. Grace. I lay in the same position for a long time, and my whole body aches. Kuro stretched lightly.

‘It must be good to see a lot of Psychic Energy these days. ’

Psychic skills are greatly influenced by emotion. Kuro had two psychic breakthroughs. One was during the drone survival drill, and the other was when the tide killed the cat. Kuro's psychic abilities have been greatly enhanced by emotional outbursts.

“According to Dr. Grace, I'm the type of person who reacts to emotions frequently…. ”

Kuro is sensitive. It also means that the strength of psychic abilities is large and unstable. As long as there are extremely few emotional fluctuations, the same type of psychic ability is stable. Instead, explosive potential is rare. This type of psychic is more stable than Kuro for military use. It is also a rare reason for female cycles to be trained.

“You ended early. I cleared my training schedule. ”

Kuro enjoyed relaxation. He is not a person who drives himself like this. I didn't intentionally go straight back to my accommodation, but went for a long walk. I took a look at the map of the terminal and went on a road that I didn't usually go on.

“Oh, it's Simon. ”

Kuro found Dell Simon at the Airbit Training Ground. Simon was practicing airbit control on his own. Simon glances at Kuro.

“What is it, Kuronha? ”

Simon said as if he wasn't interested. But I was very concerned about Kuro. A rider like himself is accompanied by the sign "Psychic Genius." Simon had some kind of rival ritual for Kuro.

‘Hmph, they treat me like a nigger from the arc without a proper psychic education. He's an envoy for me. ’

Simon hated losing to Kuro with his psychic abilities. If Jihan had offered to recruit him when the 13th generation was founded, he would have refused at once because of Kuro. This is because there is no chance of defeating Kuro's squad by tapping it.

“Are you practicing your airbeats? We're piloting a few planes, one, two, three, four... Five at the same time. Amazing.”

Simon shrugs and smiles at Kuro's compliment.

“It looks like we're going to have a 13th Squad battle soon, and I'm going to make sure you get your hopes up. I'm the best second-grader ever! ”

Simon declares war. I worked hard to control seven airbeats. It requires extreme concentration and mental strength. I pushed the airbit hard with impulse, making it a complex high-speed maneuver.

‘That's all I am. Damn it, nigga. ’

Kuro, who was watching Simon, pulls the airbit out of the cabinet underneath the training ground. Fingerprint recognition permits you to use this equipment because it is expensive.

“Maybe I should try it too. ”

Kuro pulls out the airbit. He closes his eyes and focuses. I imagined airbeats floating in the dark. Kuro was imaginative as he was sensitive. Excellent at drawing images It was a source of diverse cognitive power.

Gooooo!

The corners of Kuro's clothes flutter. It was a psychic airflow from the top sickers. Psychic expression alone changes the density of air. Evidence that psychic ability is above grade A

Twitch, twitch.

Simon pretends not to care, but his whole body reacts to Kuro's psychic kicks. Kuro's psychic energy was enormous.

‘When did Kuro grow up like this...? ’

Kuro's growth was fast, but not this fast the last time I saw him.

‘Psychic energy alone outranks me. ’

Kuro moves your airbeats. I was able to spare your breath. The reason I didn't control more airbeats was because I didn't want to move more airbeats than Simon. Kuro was unconscious of Simon's rivals. I just wanted to get acquainted by controlling the airbeats together.

Simon kicks his tongue and retrieves the airbeat. He glances at Kuro and disappears. Kurodo has put in a fancy airbit.

“What did I do wrong? I think you're angry. ”

Kuro scratches his head, looking back at Simon. He keeps walking and reaches the supply depot. The transport helicopter was waiting for you at the landing site. The soldiers roll up their arms and fly the supplies to the warehouse.

‘Psychic abilities should be quick. ’

Kuro looked at the soldiers with such thoughts. The supplies have all been rested by the carriers. There were people who smoked cigarettes, and there were soldiers who sat down to eat snacks. The soldier pulls out his jerky and chews his thigh. Cats gather around it.

Cats grabbed jerky by pulling on soldiers' trousers.

‘The cat was my only friend in the orphanage. ’

Kuro was gentle. His behavior was slow and not as clever as everyone else's. It was a class called blunt force. There was nothing good to do. Among the orphanage children, the skin color quickly made me a target of ridicule. The only cat that wandered near the orphanage was a friend.

‘Now I have something good to do. And friends. ’

Kuro found a cat leaving the herd. The yellow cheese was a mottled cat.

“Ah.”

Kuro stalks the cat without even knowing it. The cat walks through a complex arc path. Kuro leaves the road with a swift gesture. It was clean like a gymnast. "Weaker" than most of Arc's super-drugged students. Kuro's physical ability is very good, as a layman.

“We've come too far. ”

Kuro came out of nowhere. The cat in his hand howls and cries.

“Meow.”

Kuro strokes his cat in his arms. Kuro has activated the handset to check the map.

“The sea?"

The land represented on the map was not land, but the sea. Based on the location of the map, Kuro was floating on the sea.

‘Somehow I feel like I'm in an area I shouldn't be in. ’

Kuro's eyes flutter slightly. He is far from the type who enjoys leaving and adventure. He looks back on his path.

Ku-ung!

You hear a heavy noise behind Kuro.

“Who's there? ”

The voice is thick. You look back at Kuro.

“Hee-hee! Hee-hee! ”

Kuro falls in shock. There is a human-shaped robot standing. The cold metal frame sparkles and glows.

“What is it, Kuronha? You almost didn't recognize him because he changed. ”

The voice sounded familiar to me again. Kuro crouches and flinches.

“Lt. Le, Lt. Red? ”

The robot weighing two meters was a Red Corporal. It wasn't a robot, it was Sergeant Red. He was wearing a suit. Smoke flows from the open face.

‘We're screwed. We're gonna be so screwed. ’

Sergeant Red is a notorious instructor. Kuro has a hard time remembering. Reflexively, my legs are frozen. The fear of Sergeant Red has been deeply imprinted on Kuro.

“Have you lost your way? Drink something while you're here. There's a development center up ahead. ”

Sergeant Red didn't scold Kuro. Rather, he said in a soft voice.

“Huh? ”

Kuro stupidly reacted. If it was the same in the first grade, he would fall into a panic. Sergeant Red, however, didn't say much. Kuro follows Sergeant Fat Red.

Ki-ying, ki-ying.

Every time Sergeant Red walks, there's a little bit of metal.

I told you not to smoke in the frame. Are you crazy?

“Shut up, old man. ”

Sergeant Red turned off his comms and ignored them.

“W-what is that? The one you're wearing. ”

“Second generation psychoframe. It's a prototype, but I'm testing it. The ultimate tool for a bunch of psycho-kicking warriors to fight dragons. I was running tests, but when I heard an outsider came in, I found you there. ”

“You're not angry. ”

“I'm not your instructor anymore. If someone lives that angry and curses, it's a personality traitor. That guy's a maniac. Isn't that right?”

‘I know that. ’

Kuro doesn't think out of his mouth.

“Sooner or later, the second generation of psychoframes will be released. I don't care if the students know. Especially if you're a sophomore. You will never leave the arc again. That body is now the property of the arc. ”

Kuro shrugs a little. A sophomore can't leave the arc until he's dead or disoriented. I know, but it was creepy when I heard it in person.

“An exoskeleton suit that can only be worn by a psychoframe, right? I've never seen it before.”

“The first generation was shocked to think it was rushed into an exhibition. The specifications were country-specific. Second generation psychoframes are not even comparable thereto. It's the best equipment we've got for the best. The dragon's bones and leather shaped the interior frame, and the gloves encased in a high-elastic alloy. This is your equipment. Even I can barely move. ”

Sergeant Red explained calmly. Kuro was an unusual Red Sergeant.

‘Maybe he's a kind person.... ’

The students who knew Sergeant Red would be appalled, but Sergeant Red, who faced him individually, was kind to Kuro.

“I'm a sophomore. I'll have a drink. I'll drive you home. ”

Sergeant Red has arrived at the Development Center. Only the entrance to the basement is visible. The exterior field only had the necessary equipment and manpower. Sergeant Red entrusted one of the soldiers to Kuro's home.

“This lunatic, who smokes cigarettes to test? ”

An old man is furious at Sergeant Red. Sergeant Red asked him for another cigar in front of him.

“I'm inspired. I was psychically responsive. But we need to reduce the dragon material ratio of the interior frame. Power is important, but you can't handle it if you're that sensitive. Those who will wear this will have a breath of psychotic expression. ”

The old man takes a thorough note of Sergeant Red's words, despite his anger. They seemed quite close.

“Once the standard type is set, we'll have to dismantle this as well. ”

“It's a prototype. Should I keep it as a souvenir? It's a shame I lost the suit I tested. ”

“Dragon material is always lacking. I don't need a suit I can't even wear. We have to disassemble it and recycle it. ”

Sergeant Red takes a few moments to clear out the smoke. He said blankly.

“Do you know? There's got to be someone who wears this. ”

Kuro drinks orange juice and watches Sergeant Red and the old man speak. Soon a soldier drove a military car. Kuro drove back to the second-grade housing complex in a military car.

After training, the boys were returning to their homes. Kuro looked at the boys. His body is sturdy, but there is a stain on his face. I remembered the psychoframe I saw earlier. In the future, boys will go out into the battlefield in tune-up suits. They will fight for the honor of humanity. Kuro imagines himself fighting a dragon in a suit.

My hands and feet tremble quietly. My inner war was a distant future, and I felt safe and secure that it would not happen.

‘Adults are really preparing for the war against dragons...' ’

A vivid realization. Kuro realizes he's training for war. It's not a joke or a dream. War is coming from the real world.
