King of Hollywood

Chapter 24: New Movies (2)

“Dan plays the leading role.” Adrian turned to LaVerne.

“Would Dennis be a little too young?” LaVerne looked at Dennis and he looked at his boss.

“Dan is a little young, if only in terms of age, but it can be remedied if he has a good makeup artist. What I value more is Dan's acting, and I'm sure he can do it perfectly well with his experience.” Adrian said and looked at Dennis again, "Dan, you've seen some of the scripts, talk about how you feel. ”

“Um...” Dennis thought, "Leonard should have these depressions, anxiety, remorse, anger, and... confusion. He killed his wife, he had short-term amnesia, he was constantly being exploited, he had no goal of moving forward, so at least two of these emotions should be present in his face at the same time. As for how to behave, it depends on what you're filming and the director's requirements. ”

“Good.” Adrian clapped his hands, "I think that's all right, Ralph. ”

“You're the boss.” LaVerne shrugged her shoulders, expressing her attitude in that sentence.

Adrian didn't think he was laughing, “I don't think there's a Bijo? Pantoriano fits better. ”

“I'll get in touch with him as soon as possible.” LaVerne nodded.

“If possible, it's best to settle today.” Adrian moped his chin and seemed worried that this guy would be robbed.

“I don't think he'll turn down the invitation from the new Hollywood director.” LaVerne raised her hand with a smile.

Adrian was stunned for a few seconds and then laughed. Basically, "Two Big Smoke Guns" fully served his intended purpose, harvesting the expensive box office while also allowing Adrian to enter people's horizons simultaneously as a new and sharp director, as evidenced by the phone cage emotions of several of the four movie companies who had dealt with him immediately after the film was released.

But it wasn't enough in Adrian's eyes, so when he got home, he resigned all the invitations, stayed in the bedroom for half a step, and was busy writing novels, new movie screenplays, and some script syllabuses.

“Not entirely,” Adrian waved and pulled the subject back, "I already have a female partner, and I'll call her myself, don't worry about that. ”

“Okay.” LaVerne nodded without asking much.

“This time there has to be a department, not necessarily the best, but it has to be fully equipped, and I don't want to go through London again," Adrian sighed, “Most people dress casually and don't have a professional makeup artist, even think twice about using a filter. ”

LaVerne couldn't help but smile, and Dennis shrugged his shoulders with emotion.

“Well, let's not talk about it, I've estimated that the budget might be around 4 million, and you'd better get someone else to reckon with it, Raph.” Adrian added.

“I will.” LaVerne understands, followed by an outrage: "I didn't expect to go out again when I first got it. ”

“I can continue to invest on my own if the company doesn't want to.” Adrian said in his spare time.

“Of course not. If that's the case, I'm afraid the enthusiasm that ignites so easily will go away again.” LaVerne laughed.

The Bosworth Film Corporation has not been very good for a number of reasons over the years, so most of its employees are just floating around. But since Adrian bought it, the good news has been the same: first the small cost film was awarded the Best Virgin in Venice, then the film won hundreds of times the box office, and the staff was surprised and naturally morale was high. Plus Adrian immediately invested 5 million, not much, but also mobilized their enthusiasm, much more cohesion than before, and LaVerne seized the opportunity to get things right within the company.

After a long talk, Adrian left the company after giving some advice, and went to the writer's office to store two or three of the recently evicted scripts before returning home. Just arrived at the villa, before she could catch her breath, Mrs. Galen, who was taking care of the house, told him that Claude had called earlier.

“Hey, Claude, what can I do for you? Don't tell me my money's gone.” Adrian walked to the floor window with a cordless phone and looked out into the bright sun and said amusedly.

“You bastard...” Claude's bitter laughter came from over there, "I regret to tell you about this, Ed, the end result may be a little further from your expectations. ”

“Really? Someone promised it would be fine.” Adrian replied in good time.

“First of all, I didn't guarantee that it would be fine; secondly, don't forget that you took part of the money along the way; and lastly, do you know how much work I put into your business?!” Claude falls one by one.

Adrian couldn't help laughing twice: "Okay, so I should just tell you what I can do? ”

“It's not over yet. You can fight it. I'll try to fulfill your request.” Claude hummed.

“Thank you, Claude.” Adrian laughed and said in a calm and grateful voice.

After a private accountant explained to him, he realized how difficult it was to get in and split a cup at this time, but Claude not only promised to come down, but did a great job, believing that he had used a lot of relationships and possibly even asked for a godfather.

“Who made me promise you that?” Claude took a long breath, silencing for a few seconds before opening up again: “Congratulations. ”

Although it's just a short word, Adrian knows how much it contains. He could totally imagine how Claude had looked at himself in the previous two years.

“What, have you seen my work? What do you say?” Adrian asked in a relaxed tone.

“It's funny, I didn't expect you to really make a movie, I've been waiting to see your jokes, you've never shown talent in this before.” Claude praised.

Adrian was slightly surprised, and then he didn't move his voice and explained: “I was holding onto it and trying to gamble. The director was actually very simple, and the theoretical knowledge can be seen in the book. The key is to have control over the scheduling, so that the assistants can understand what you really want. Fortunately, I did a good job. ”

“Not only is it good, I heard that the movie costs less than $1 million, but the box office costs almost $30 million...”

“Conservatively, you should get 40 million when you go offline. ”

“Excellent, frankly, filmmaking would be a lucrative industry if such data were available for every return on investment. ”

“Don't be paranoid, this kind of reward accounts for only a small percentage of the film production, and don't forget that the exhibitors have to split the bill, deduct the distribution fee and pay taxes, so you don't really have much in hand. ”

“Well, anyway, your virginity is really brilliant, and I still can't believe it's yours. ”

“Thank you, if you suddenly wake up from chaos like me, you'll do whatever it takes, Claude. ”

Both sides of the phone went silent, and Claude only spoke a few minutes later: "Okay, forget it, Ed, shouldn't you take a moment to visit my father? ”

Adrian slapped his head: "Oh, it should be so... oh, no time for months! ”

“What's the matter? ”

“Damn, I'm about to start making new movies.” Adrian was annoyed and helpless, "he said." Preparations have begun and everything is on the agenda. ”

“New movie? Your first movie isn't even offline yet.” Claude was a little surprised.

“Yes, I know, but I have a whole plan, so... damn, I wish your call had been made sooner.” Adrian said depressingly.

“Why don't you call me when you get back?" ”

“All right, all right, Claude, let's not talk about this, okay? I thought about it, I'm afraid I'll have to go and visit my godfather at Christmas.” Adrian shifted the subject.

“Christmas? At least two months left. Can't you smoke it all day for the last two months?” Claude's voice sounds a little dissatisfied.

“Listen, Claude, since I'm going to see my godfather, naturally I have to be more solemn and pick a good day, and I appreciate the attention he's given to me for the past two years, and I'd like to be more formal.” Adrian explains, "time is tight here because everything is planned for the new movie, and I intend to try to get it done within two to three months, as I did in the previous one, and then go to the Berlin Film Festival next February. ”

“Okay, Ed, don't be too desperate.” Claude didn't go on.

“I know, apologize to the godfather for me… Forget it, I'll call him myself.” Adrian thought about it and said.

“By the way, what's your new movie about?” Claude suddenly asked again.

“Well… an insurance salesman is hit hard in the head after two break-in robbers, which leads to a temporary amnesia, meaning that the memory lasts only five minutes, and after five minutes everything remembered will be forgotten. Because of this, he killed his wife, and sadly he couldn't remember it and subconsciously thought that his wife had been murdered by the two guys who came in to rob him, so he looked everywhere for revenge. Someone helped him, someone took advantage of him, and he himself, was always confused, and even if the truth was finally found, he could not choose to escape his fate.” Adrian briefly tells the story, "the movie is called" Memory Fragment. "- What are you asking? ”

“Sounds good.” Claude said with no hesitation.

“The story can only be good, so I'm going to do some kung fu on the story, hoping that if you read it, you won't get a headache.” Adrian joked.

“In that case, we'll have to see. - Oh, yes, do we need to invest?” He finally exposed the fox's tail.

Adrian Haha laughed, “No, dear Claude, I'm on a small cost route now. Rest assured, if you really want to invest, there are opportunities ahead. ”

(Rest assured, some mistakes will not be made, I am not so retarded.
