King of Hollywood

Chapter 197: The Remainder

The cast of "This Killer's Not Too Cold" finally came to a close, and although the crew was very low-key, it attracted a lot of journalists behind it, after all, where Adrian's miracle director was named.

Adrian, however, did not have much contact with the journalists who came out of the news, and essentially everything in these areas was thrown away to the other heads of the crew, who had a lot to do, but had no work to do with the journalists. Besides, it's just the selection of new movies, and it's not working with big stars. The news is not very valuable. Although the news in the paper is very eye-catching, such as "Miracle Director New Movie Target Killer” is everywhere, but if you flip it, it's all behind at least versions 5 and 6.

The first thing after the selection was to visit Natalie's house, she was now only a little girl under the age of 12, even if she was chosen with the consent of her guardian. To avoid a lot of nightmares, Adrian went the next day and had dinner at Natalie's house. After one night of contact, he realized why Natalie would put special emphasis on not telling her father about her reading Lolita, and agent Sandy would tell him that it was best to earn the trust of Natalie's parents.

Natalie's father, Avner? Around thirty years old, Hellagher was a research doctor, and Adrian's first impression was that he seemed to see his old, stubborn uncle standing in front of him. Even though Avner smiled and shook his hand, his instincts made that decision.

After careful reflection and observation, Adrian quickly understood why he felt this way, because he had some knowledge of Jewish customs as a result of making the Schindler List, and the arrangement of the rooms - such as the Nine Candlesticks on the Light Festival and the Medjuza on the door frame - showed what a Jewish family it was, and the blessing before and after meals showed Avner's status as the head of the family.

Most people who would preserve their ethnic traditions like this seem a little conservative, and they all have their own beliefs to uphold, as does Adrian's uncle, and Natalie's father. Nevertheless, Avner is obviously better with people than Anderson. He has a sense of humor and likes to joke. He rarely shows parental authority in front of his wife and children and can see that he still loves them. But at the same time, he never changed his mind about some of his ideas, no matter how well-founded, like...

“Why would you want to design a plot like this, Adrian? A middle-aged man and a young, even young girl's... emotional story?” Avner asked him that.

Now that Natalie has been set up for the role, the full script naturally shows her and her guardian, and Avner is very dissatisfied with certain pieces, such as some of the more intimate parts of Lyon and Matilda in the literature. However, he did not use the tone of questioning and the excessive language, even the word "love” was replaced by “affection”.

“You're right, Avner, the story of affection.” Adrian shrugged his shoulders and the smile never changed, "a fairy tale about the killer, the two protagonists were actually children, both of whom closed their hearts because of a major change in their bodies. But precisely because of this trait, when they met, they hit a surprising spark. It's a spark of emotion, and there are many kinds of emotions, which are filled with love, friendship, and a little bit of hazy love. You're a doctor, Avner, and although you haven't studied psychology, you should know more or less why. ”

Avner nodded and shook his head, watching Adrian smile softly in his eyes, and went on if nothing happened: "Don't worry, Avner, I know how to grasp the camera and handle some of the plots, and if you like, you can come to the set often. Besides, don't you think the kid should be allowed to try something she's interested in? ”

Speaking of which, he looked up at Natalie, who was sitting at the table talking to her mother, and the girl just turned her head to this side, and she gave him an implicit smile of gratitude immediately after her eyes turned, apparently listening to Adrian's conversation with her own father.

As a conservative Jew, Avner didn't want his daughter to make movies, but Shelley, an artist, supported her daughter, and Natalie herself had a strong desire. Avner wasn't the kind of father who had to do what he wanted, so he had a conversation with Adrian.

“Well, that's it, I'll keep Shelly in the crew, I hope you don't mind.” Avner concludes.

“How could it be.” Adrian waved her hand with a smile, then looked at Natalie again, and she had pinched her little fist and thrilled to knock it up. The visit was still worth it, and he gained a lot of valuable information, combined with memories, which gave him greater certainty. I just don't know why, when I left Natalie's house, the first feeling of error came out of my heart again.

After visiting Natalie's house to negotiate the role, Adrian should have gone to Liv's house as planned, but because of Kirsten, he had to postpone it again. After all, Kirsten now lives in Los Angeles and cannot stay in New York for long.

Unexpectedly, Kirsten eventually picked out the movie "Night Visit Vampire" after getting two screenplays sent through the courier company. First, the daughter's role in Piano Class is still an ordinary little girl, at best in the Victorian era; secondly, Claudia from Night Visit Vampire is a psychological 35-year-old girl with only eleven or two years of appearance, which meets her requirements to play a different role, plus the fact that Night Visit Vampire is always famous, so she chose this movie basically as a water source.

Adrian was more or less relieved by this result, and if Kirsten really chose the daughter role of Piano Class, it would be a bit troublesome. Although the film is funded by the Bosworth Film Industry, it still falls more within the category of independent films, and it would have to be done by some means to get Kirsten through Campion's auditions.

Anyway, Claudia Night Visit Vampire matches her image very well. Besides, there are some things that can't be changed, and a lot of good novel adaptations are still in hand. For example, "Little Woman" because of Adrian's prophetic perception, he caught many of the brilliant future films adapted from the novel long ago. As for the best-selling novels that have not yet been published, don't forget what his publishing company does.

Except for some special bestselling novels like the Harry Potter series (seven copies in total, some really long) or the Da Vinci Password (no Dan? Brown's professional qualities, hard to copy in full) and so on, some novels such as those that are not so demanding can be given an outline for the contracting author to write. Even if the contracting author has good abilities, some excellent adaptive novel films can be written and published in advance.

“I'm glad you chose Vampire Night Visit, and I'm sure you'll be doing great, but you're still working on it, probably not until the end of May, so maybe you can consider another movie before then.” In the cafe where Kirsten and her mother Inez were asked out, Adrian took the opportunity to leave and said to Kirsten after taking Charlize by his side.

“What is it?” Kirsten stopped to enjoy the cake and looked at Adrian with bright crystal eyes.

“A film about food and human ecology, the role of an anorexic girl, a commercially motivated film. Now we're just short of the actress for the girl role, and I think you can try.” Adrian said simply.

“Really?” The little girl wrinkled slightly, seemingly reluctant, and then shook her head at Adrian with an intriguing look in her mouth.

“You have to understand, Kiki,” Adrian laughed, calling out her nickname, not only for her refusal but for her refusal, "Demonstrating her value cannot be based on the impressive characters alone in the box office, where an actress can only perform some art films to earn her reputation, but if she wants to go further, she has to have a tall box office movie that she can handle, even if she's just a partner in it - and I think you should understand that. ”

Pretty as a doll's little girl blinked her eyes and a smile swung from the corner of her mouth, pure as a little angel, only Adrian could see what was flashing in those bright, light blue eyes.

“Well, I said yes," Kirsten picked up the tissue and gracefully rubbed off the corner of his mouth, and that beautiful smile never seemed to change, "you wouldn't lie to a little girl like me, would you? ”

“Of course,” said Adrian, sighing in his heart.

That settled the matter, and when Inez came back, the invitation to Adrian didn't go right, apart from expressing the wish to see the script as soon as possible. In fact, she preferred her daughter to play this role to Claudia from Night Vampire. But because of Adrian's persuasion and Kirsten's performance, she finally agreed to come down.

“I'll have them deliver the script as soon as possible, but you may be staying in New York for a few more days.” That's what Adrian said when he left the cafe.

“No problem, Adrian, we still have a place to stay in Pointe Pleasant, New Jersey.” Inez nodded.

“May I thank you, Adrian?” Kersten, snuggling next to his mother, suddenly said in a tender tone, slightly lowering his head like a shy figure.

“Oh, sure.” Adriatic Security is smiling.

“So can I ask you to bow down?” Kirsten looked up at him.

Though she didn't understand what she was trying to do, Adrian bowed down to her body and tied her neck tight. The little girl wrapped her toes around his neck and gently kissed him on the cheek.
