King of Hollywood

Chapter 200 Explosion Scene

New York City, Brooklyn District, an apartment on Fulton Street and an area outside had been plotted out early to be inaccessible. Residents in the vicinity did not know what was going on at first, but soon they understood as the vehicles arrived and the equipment that had been removed from them had been erected.

No one is surprised, not even a lot of people are watching, which is too normal in New York, where many movies or TV shows are filmed every day as America's most famous city. It was not until a team of heavily armed police officers disembarked from the vehicle that the tactical formation began rapidly that some of the residents became interested.

They're not running some kind of rescue or arrest operation in the name of filming, are they? Someone thought so loudly. This is, of course, impossible, and these “police officers" began to spread out less than two minutes later. Even so, a lot of people still find it interesting to watch while passing by.

But this is less interesting for Adrian, who is directing the studio.

“Charlie, tell Raymond to get the cast ready for their first audition. Also, have Trevor come to me right away.” Adrian, who brushes things over, wrinkles not so much as he tells Charlize.

“Got it.” Although more glorious than ever, the beautiful female secretary seemed very unhappy with a bandaged face and did not wait for Adrian to speak again and turn around and walk away.

Adrian shrugged his shoulders, and the corner of his mouth began to talk to others because of a smile. The first scene was the only big scene in the whole movie. Well, it wasn't that big of a scene. The SWAT officers jammed him outside Lyon's apartment and wanted to catch him. The important, intense shots were in the building, and the outsiders just surrounded it and kept order.

If that were the case, Adrian would not have arranged for this part of the camera to go live, but the key was the importance of an explosion in addition to this, so he had to negotiate with community agencies and some government departments to plot half the streets for shooting.

He knew how annoying these institutions were when shooting the "Smell the Fragrant Woman" car scene. Not here for a while. Not there for a while. Don't start shooting unless they do what they say. So before that, he let people get in touch with each other. Anyway, this is the scene, and it's long overdue.

“Good, that's it, get the demonstrators ready.” Once Adrian had told the story, he walked over to the RV and the two leading actors had changed their costumes and were on the line.

“How's it feel, Jean?” Adrian says hello aloud, and Jean? Renault hugged one and looked at the guy with the messy hair and the leather suit, looking a little evil.

“It's an honor to meet you, Count Dracula. Do you need a hand kiss?” Adrian said in an exaggerated tone.

“I think I have to remind you, Mr. Adrian, first of all, that I am a man; secondly, that I am currently single.” Gary? Oldman frowned, shuddering at the slightly lifted chin deliberately reserved for the movie.

Renault next to him immediately laughed, and Oldman seemed to find it intoxicating, adding: “It seems that the rumor that you have studied English culture is not credible. ”

“I never said I had a lot of research into English culture," Adrian didn't care about his flirting, smiling straight out his hand, "Glad you could join the movie, Gary. You're just like the rumors, though it's all dark characters, but privately you're a cute and funny person. ”

“Thanks for the compliment, and I'm happy to work with the famous miracle director.” Oldmanton, who shook his hand with Adrian, laughed, apparently with great praise.

“Well, I'm going to shoot that explosion now, and I look forward to it when it's over.” After a few chills, the show came running over to say that everything was ready, and Adrian said goodbye behind the camera.

“Attention all departments, scene 79, scene 16 is ready for shooting.” When everyone returned to their positions, the field record raised the plate in their hands and shouted out, smashing it down two seconds later.

The scene suddenly calmed down and the camera began to spin as Adrian lifted his arms and looked at the exit of the apartment. One second, two seconds, a loud bang, smoke and fire erupted from it, and several professional deputies in blast-proof uniforms rolled away looking like they had been hit by the air waves.

The scene of the explosion being filmed is completely different from what you see on the big screen, not so many flames, mostly smoke, neither gorgeous nor shocking. This requires adjustments in post-production, such as increased contrast, faster lens transitions, or slower playback speeds.

It was also Adrian's first time directing an explosion, so not only did he use two cameras to shoot from different angles, but he also deliberately sought out an experienced deputy director help liner.

“Essentially qualified, according to your request," Deputy Director Masterson explained to Adrian pointing to the picture on the monitor, "it can be brightened later and then slowly zoomed in, making it both cohesive and impactful. ”

“Is there anything that needs to be improved?” Adrian touched his chin and asked.

“If you ask, you don't have to make too many improvements," Masterson answered cleverly, "it's already good to be able to film this in one go. ”

“Then do it again, as a backup, and then do it again according to how you feel, and I'll let the demonstrators do what you ask.” Adrian said, in that case, take a few more shots, just in time for the venue. Otherwise, it would be too much trouble if there was something wrong back there that needed to be re-shot.

It's almost past the morning after two repetitive shots, and it takes a lot of time for the blaster and prop artist to arrange all kinds of props before each shooting, and after each shooting someone has to come forward to do the clearance. Especially after the shooting, don't think you can drill holes without directly continuing the blast, community agencies are watching, and this is all in the protocol.

Adrian didn't care, so long as the movie worked out to his requirements, it wouldn't matter if he spent more money. As for the two leading actors, they are still very dedicated and ready.

After a brief lunch, the crew rested for an hour to get back to work, and after about 40 minutes of shooting outside police-related shots, Adrian started shooting Reynolds and Oldman's first rivalry.

The scene is that Renault, when he succeeded in coming out of the SWAT and walking to the exit, was shot and killed by Oldman, who had been here for a long time, but before he died, he also pulled the grenade hidden in his body and killed Oldman.

The footage here is quite subtle. When Lyon, the killer, finally got a little warmth from Matilda and began to change his habits in the hope of becoming more like a normal person, he walked towards a door filled with light, and when he was about to escape from it, a gun was stretched out in the dark behind him to point at his vest, eventually making him fall just one step away from the light.

Even so, he killed the great rebel Stan with his last breath, and Stan's last reaction was interesting, and when he saw the pile of grenades hanging on Lyon, he just cursed calmly, "” and saw how far his madness had reached.

But Adrian doesn't have much thought to analyze these meanings. It's a matter of fans and critics, and even if he's really here, fans and critics can interpret the north-south. So instead of thinking about these flamboyant things, focus on telling stories.

From a narrative point of view, Lyon is also indispensable, and it's the best ending together. Simply put, even if he escaped, as long as Stan was alive, he and Matilda lived in a tense atmosphere, and the length of the film did not support another confrontation with Stan. Besides, unsatisfactory endings are more memorable and profound.

Of course, one of the most important reasons is that film critics or mainstream society will not tolerate such “frenzy” in movies. Though they are unclean in themselves, wanting to express in a movie that little Lori falls in love with the creeps and then lives happily ever after will inevitably lead to an unprecedented slap in the mouth.

Of course, film directors can also insist on their own creation. After all, this is… hmm… free, but definitely marginalized by mainstream society, Adrian would only do that if his head was watered down.

Is that why you remember Luc? Besides being a French film, some of the explicit lines in Besona's "This Killer's Not Too Cold" influenced the perception of film critics, who in turn influenced a large number of fans.

So when Adrian wrote the script, he deliberately handled it in these places, for example, by blurring the emotions between the two, mixing affection, friendship and love. The lines have also been meticulously repaired, and some lenses have been abandoned or replaced, just as Matilda jumped out in a xiong hood to play a movie character to make Leon guess where, although the xiong cover was hanging outside, Adrian replaced it with a different role play, in a simple sentence, to minimize the likelihood of sexual temptation, while adding a warm part.

Of course, doing so presupposes no influence on the mainline plot, and Adrian believes that with this modification of his own, the film will only be more successful than the original.
