King of Hollywood

Chapter 278: Do Me a favor

“Welcome back to our studio. I'm Jon? Stewart, bring you the daily show.” With the familiar sound of music, the camera moved from the top to a middle-aged man sitting in the middle of a suit with a hint of cynicism.

“We had just officially discussed President Bush's sad statement and the sophisticated interpretation of the fox news channel, so let's change the subject now.” The prolonged voice made a lot of laughter with that iconic slutty, bad smile, “remember I said earlier who the guest was today? That's right. Great director of miracles all the time, Adrian? Mr. Cowell! ”

Follow his hand up to block his mouth and make a mysterious appearance on the table: “Of course, you know, he's my boss, so... you know, give him some face. ”

“Don't worry, Jon, I won't let you get paid.” Right here, Adrian had come out from behind, generous enough to do it in front of him.

“Really?” Stewart goes along with a look of surprise.

“Of course," Adrian starts, "but I'm thinking about whether paid vacation should be modified. ”

The audience burst into laughter, and Stewart's face followed. Adrian laughed.

“Well, I'm kidding. Do you think I look like such a stingy person?” He said with a smile.

“OK, so let's get back to the point.” Stewart laughed, too. “I think everyone knows what's been going on lately, and there's a lot of people out there who want to invite you to talk on the show. ”

“So I left it to you, I like you, Jon.” Adrian pointed at him immediately.

“Thank you. It's a great honor.” Stuart immediately pretended to look flattered, got up and shook his hand, and looked at the camera again with his hand in front of him: "See? This is the benefit of proximity, and of course I have to continue my paid leave efforts for… hmm… ”

The expression on his face matched the tone of complacency and then became depressing and helpless. Very smooth, not at all uncomfortable, suddenly caused another laugh.

“Well, we all know that since Broken Back Mountain was launched at the end of last year, the public has spoken out about it, and after it was officially released a few days ago, this contradiction has reached * *,” Stewart said looking at Adrian. “So, how do you see the problem, Ed? ”

“Frankly, I didn't think too much about seeing Ms. Prue's novel, and for me, it's a story about love.” Adrian made gestures to increase his tone. “It's just a love story. ”

“Just a love story?” Stewart repeats, and opens his eyes, "Are you sure you don't think Jack or Ennis is Jesse or Ennis? ”

“Of course not,” Adrian laughed with the audience in the seat, "in fact. If you turn one of these characters into a woman, and you modify some of the details, you'll find that the story is no worse than Romeo and Juliet. For example... a man and a woman, they fell in love on the mountain because of work or something. But for a variety of reasons, such as a family, having a marriage contract, for example, being too far away for the two of them to come together, they love each other very much. Though they already had their own lives, they eventually met back in the mountains and then agreed to meet on the mountains every year. This painful and happy life continues until a woman unfortunately dies, and a grieving man looks at her relic and promises that he will always remember and live well. ”

“Wow, that's touching," Stewart clapped. “That's actually what you wanted to shoot, right? ”

Adrian laughed and went on: “I know what you want to ask most, Jon, and I know a lot of people care, and maybe people are already very dissatisfied with comparing this film to Romeo and Juliet, but what I'm saying is -- I don't support homosexuality, don't worry, I don't disagree either, in fact, support and opposition are inaccurate words, and I prefer to go with nature. If you really want me to support something, there's another thing I support: the right to choose freely! ”

“Oh?” Stewart picked up on him with an exclamation rather than an intrusion.

“This is what we have always insisted on and what we are most proud of, we are free, we can choose to do what we want, we can choose not to do what we want," Adrian finally threw out his point of view, "Whoever, Ennis, Jake, me, you, you have the right to freely make the choices you want without hurting others, families and society! ”

A warm applause sounded, and as the most proud thing of Americans, the word freedom was quite resonant. At this point, plus the last time Daily Show was not much time for guests, and after a few more random conversations, the time for this issue arrived.

“Thank you for your cooperation, Jon, very good.” Back in the background with Stewart, Adrian patted him on the shoulder and said.

Stewart hasn't spoken yet, and a voice just plugged in from the side: "If that's all I can do, why can't I go on my show? ”

“Here you go again, Alan." Looking for sound. Adrian laughed. “How did you get here? ”

“You chose Jon's Daily Show over mine, and of course I'm coming to see what he's worth choosing.” A woman with short hair came over.

“Leave her alone, Ed, she's just jealous.” Stewart screamed immediately, Adrian laughed and opened his hand to the woman: “You know why, Allen. ”

“Well, I do know why, but you should be on my show anyway, right? Otherwise it would be unfair. And it's going to be a joke. Hey, you know what, Jon? Stewart, is that guy going to have a hard time inviting miracle directors to his Daily Show, or is he from Allen? It was taken from De Janeilles.” The woman keeps talking, obviously, and that's her real purpose.

Adrian had to put his hands up and swing, “Okay, Allen, I promise you, if there's time later, I'll definitely be at the Allen Show, I promise. ”

“Then it's settled.” De Janiles, promised, was overwhelmed, and Stuart next to him turned his eyes.

Jon Stewart's Daily Show and Alan? De Janeilles' "Allen Show" is one of two well-known talk shows ABC has, despite their different styles, a large group of fans, especially De Janeilles' "Allen Show", who are known for their spicy boldness and dare to say anything. So once, Oprah? Wenfrey, Larry? Kim Kie-nam.

Adrian was supposed to be on the Allen Show. After all, it was a special talk show, and it was more popular in the United States, and the relationship between De Janeilles and Ed was pretty good - she started her own talk show with Adrian's help.

But the problem is, De Janeilles is a gay man. When she was frozen by ABC, so much so that she had a good show rating, she was cut off after the fifth season and had nothing to do with her being out of the closet publicly - which, of course, ABC would certainly not admit. But later, for Adrian's sake. She was retained, and after some time of transformation, she finally succeeded in creating the Allen Show brand.

So even though the Allen Show was more professional and De Janeilles and Ed had a better relationship, it was still sidelined. Say you don't support homosexuality in front of a homosexual... would a conservative group believe that?

Even though Adrian is now one of the best in power, he has to be careful when faced with conservative teams, and as has been said countless times before, the size and degree of conservatism of a country is proportional. The key to the thriving movement of homosexual organizations after the twenty-first century is the political correctness of anti-discrimination, which, if done too far, will continue to be overwhelmed by the invisibility of mainstream society.

Previously, "Broken Back Mountain" was just a dot, just because it was made by Adrian, causing rivalries between people on both sides. This controversy is even more intense now that it has been shown publicly. Especially because of the previous fermentation and the vigorous blow of gay organizations, the slow pace of the film and the fine and intense emotions that it exhibited, as well as the great performances of Raven and Pete, the last shot earned so many women's tears that there was a strong call on the Internet by neutrals that everyone should go see the film.

So in the first week of the show, Broken Back Mountain got 10 million box offices in 800 yards, and many residents of Salt Lake City also drove to the surrounding cities to watch. In this context, everyone knows that the miracle director's film has once again been a success, that gay organizations are naturally celebrating with enthusiasm, and that conservative groups want to exert greater pressure.

Adrian could still not respond if the influence had not been fully expanded, but it must now be stated in such circumstances. After all, he's not a Hollywood minority like LeAnn, he's one of America's super-rich media tycoons representing AC Media.

Fortunately, in spite of this drastic situation and anticipated discrepancy, Adrian is already ready for the killer, a great stick of political correctness higher than anti-discrimination: free will!

As early as the Cold War, when the United States and the Soviet Union fought for the voice of democracy, they raised the sign of freedom because of their disadvantage. After the Red Empire ended, the United States took over the sign of democracy, but it didn't give up the sign of freedom. Hollywood to the left played the ultimate role in this regard. In commercial films, the righteous side led the people to fight for their freedom, even Morgan? Freeman did that to Kim in a comedy movie like Fake Gods? Kerry taught: You can't change your free will.

It does not matter whether ordinary people of all sizes and sizes are truly free, as long as they believe.

So when Adrian raised the banner of freedom and said I neither supported nor objected to homosexuality, I just wanted people to choose the life they wanted - to see two broken families of men in the movie - based on their free will and without harming others' families and society.

This is interpreted at a higher level. Once again, the flag will be shouted by the media, undoubtedly resonating with the neutrals. The so-called debate was not aimed at disproving each other, but at neutralists, let alone gay and conservative groups, and Adrian was not guilty.

This is some of the riding walls, and he's actually riding the walls, and they're incredibly comfortable. If you are an ordinary person, you must choose sides in the face of this pressure, and riding a wall can only be ugly. But he's different. This is Adrian? Corwell, a Hollywood miracle director, chairman of the board of directors of AC Media, one of them has stood up for the legend of his media empire Half-baked Mountain!

In the eyes of gay organizations, while he has indicated that he does not support it and does not object, a Broken Back Mountain is sufficient to give homosexual groups more attention, let alone prompt them to do so in the name of freedom. And in the eyes of conservative groups. He has made it clear that he has no objection but does not support it, not to mention raising the flag of freedom, which is enough for a big man.

Besides, he said it without harming others, without harming the family, without harming society. Homosexuality, on the other hand, is a violation of the natural processes of humankind and harmful to society, and as long as they strive to make that accepted and affirmed by the overwhelming majority, he must stand by them.

Of course, the conservative team won't know. This pretext, however, was not to be expected by Adrian, not to mention whether some discriminatory views could be openly expressed, even if they were raised - and in fact already exist - gay organizations would block the gunpoint for the first time to plead and refute, and he would simply have to watch the play next to him.

In January of '05, most of the noise between the two groups passed, with Adrian? Kowell made a statement on the Daily Show, along with a number of stars who emerged or supported or objected - the two stars of the otherwise low-key Broken Back Mountain. Raven Phoenix and Brad? Pete was also expressing support, and unfortunately, Ralph already had a regular girlfriend, many of whom wanted to be a couple, to be greatly disappointed.

Together with the media under AC Media, Adrian quickly became a secondary target of interest and returned to the scene, and Broken Back Mountain steadily stepped up its own box office. Many puppies were unwilling, but unwilling, so what? All they can do is blow up in the media.

“I knew it. Every time you flirt, Ed.” Claude flirted with him so much at one lunch, “and even without our cooperation, you could use this to divert the college's attention elsewhere. ”

“No, no, no, no, Claude, if the college knew, my efforts would be wasted," Adrian said, “Remember I told you about an ancient criminal case in China? ”

“I remember, of course, that the same sentence was reversed and the verdict was not the same,” Claude nodded, "I know what you mean, but is that all it takes? ”

“Of course not,” Adrian said naturally over time, "a few more conditions are needed, in short, to make sure that the media does not stab the situation out before then. ”

As he looked across the table, a fat, middle-aged man with a moustache had just poured a fat piece of beef into his mouth.

“Don't worry, gentlemen, I don't understand what you're saying at all.” Eat a few bites and swallow the beef, whilst Weinstein shrugged in his heart, shouting in disgust at the taste.

“It doesn't matter, actually, I'd like to ask you a favor, Harvey.” Adrian took a sip of the cup and laughed.

“Happy to help you, Ed.” Weinstein said with pleasure.

Not surprisingly, Caribbean Pirate 2 is about to be released this summer, and Adrian's three super-public relations not only got him through the addiction of a media tycoon, but also allowed Miramax to harvest a big gold mine, and in that case, no matter what Adrian asked for, he would say yes, of course ——

“I've been looking forward to your summons.” Weinstein, hey, smile, squeeze into a line.

Adrian probably knew what Weinstein wanted. From the time he called today to ask if he wanted to join him for lunch, he knew that if the controversy caused by Broken Back Mountain hadn't been too intense, I'm afraid the gossip about his relationship with Natalie and whether the Wonder Woman's lineup had expanded again would have occupied a prominent place in various entertainment websites or newspapers and magazines for a long time. Knowing that this trend was very evident in the three weeks after the release of "Gone Forward".

Weinstein had no interest in knowing what the relationship was between them, not to mention that Adrian was a powerful playboy. Weinstein's interest lies in what he wants, which means he can reap more benefits from this miracle maker.

“Are you sure this time is okay?” Adrian didn't say anything, but gave a smiley face.

Weinstein beamed, and then reacted, and his face became a little chaotic. He still knows what they mean, he has sent his woman to the throne after the movie for six years in a row, and he wants to go on, even a guy like him who is good at public relations will find it tricky, not to mention Natalie is so young, and... Although Weinstein doesn't know exactly what Adrian and Claude were saying, as an old Hollywood fox, he can probably guess a little bit, don't say 100 percent, maybe 80 percent is already good.

“Don't worry, Harvey,” Adrian slapped him on the shoulder again, "I want you to help me out. It's simple. ”

He looked at him and his eyes got a little sharp: "I was hoping to invite Honor John? Mr. Campbell came out for a chat. ”
