Chapter 626 - 311: Madison Garden
In the immense walk-in closet, it’s already a warm and bustling scene.
Aliya and Emily, like two attentive assistants, are helping Lin Yu’an prepare for his trip to New York.
"The weather in New York at the end of January...I checked, it’s not as cold as here, but it’s very windy. You must bring this thick cashmere sweater."
Emily carefully folded a dark grey Loro Piana turtleneck cashmere sweater and put it into the suitcase.
"And this," Aliya picked up a classic Burberry checkered scarf and wrapped it around Lin Yu’an’s neck, adjusting it with an air of seriousness.
"Alright, alright, it’s not like I’m going to a fashion show," he said with a laugh.
But Aliya and Emily seemed not to hear him, leaving Lin Yu’an a bit helpless and amused, letting them do as they pleased.
The real trouble, however, came from two smaller beings.
Ethan and Olivia seemed to sense their father’s impending departure.
The two little ones, who had just learned to walk and were still a bit wobbly, were like little shadow kittens tottering around Lin Yu’an’s feet.
Ethan hugged Lin Yu’an’s leg, looking up with a small face just like his, trying hard to mimic the adult’s voice: "Da...da"
While Olivia was persistently stuffing into Lin Yu’an’s suitcase the teddy bear that Grandma Abigail had given her, protesting with her baby talk: "Nu..lu"
Lin Yu’an’s heart melted instantly from these two little ones.
He bent down to pick both of them up, planting a kiss on each of their chubby cheeks.
"Daddy will be back soon with the best candies from New York. How about that?"
Just as he prepared to put them down and continue packing, Ethan, who had been trying hard to mimic his sounds,
suddenly spoke a word in a clear and loud voice.
"Da...da!"
The syllables were clear and perfect, filled with a child’s unique, untainted baby voice.
At that moment, the whole closet seemed to be muted.
Lin Yu’an froze.
He slowly looked down at his son, who was proudly looking up at him, his mind went blank.
He felt his heart being grasped with an invisible yet gentle force!
This was his son’s first time truly calling out this title, a title that bore endless responsibility and honor for him!
A colossal wave of indescribable joy and extreme happiness shot from his heart throughout his whole being!
He hugged his little one tightly and burst into laughter.
But the most shocking moment was yet to come.
Seemingly not wanting her brother to steal the limelight, Olivia, who was in his other arm, seeing her brother receive all of their father’s attention,
pursed her lips and exclaimed a word in the same clear yet softer and adorable voice.
"Mom...my!"
She called out to Aliya and Emily, who were already moved speechless by the sudden event.
The word "Mommy" instantly broke through the emotional defenses of the two moms.
"Oh, my God..."
Aliya and Emily could no longer hold back, rushing up to take one precious child each from Lin Yu’an, excitedly speaking incoherently.
They continuously kissed their little cheeks, pressing their faces tightly against the children’s soft hair.
Happy tears uncontrollably slipped from Aliya’s eyes. The moment she had been waiting for came with such joy and suddenness.
The walk-in closet was filled with the babies’ giggles and the mothers’ sobbing.
"Did you hear that, Emily!" Aliya, cradling Olivia, cried and laughed, saying to her sister beside her, "She called me! She called Mommy!"
"I heard it!" Emily, also holding Ethan, tear stains on her face but with a radiant smile, "Ethan too! He called Daddy! Oh, my little genius!"
Like girls who had received the best gift in the world, they shared this incomparable joy with each other.
Lin Yu’an stood aside watching the women he loved, and the two little ones in their arms who gave him a new meaning in life, feeling an unprecedented sense of fulfillment and stability.
It was a long time before he slowly walked forward, extending his arms to embrace the four most important people in his life.
"Alright, alright," he gently wiped the tears from Aliya and Emily’s faces with his thumbs, "This is a joy beyond words, why the tears?"
Aliya, holding Olivia, snuggled up to him with a nasal tone and said coquettishly.
"I’m just so happy! You have no idea, we’ve been teaching them every day, for almost two months now, and these two little ones just wouldn’t speak!"
Emily also lifted her tear-stained face towards Lin Yu’an, eyes sparkling with happiness.
Perhaps moved by the children’s first words, she softly touched her still-flat belly.
A hint of motherly glory and tenderness appeared on her face, so subtle that even she didn’t notice.
This extremely subtle movement was instantly captured by the equally perceptive Aliya.
Aliya’s eyes flickered with understanding and tenderness, she gently placed her hand over Emily’s hand, smiling softly as she spoke:
