Knight: Becoming King of the World

The more troops he had, the more wars he could fight. Victory in those wars, in turn, would bring him more territory.

An increase in territory meant he needed even more troops to maintain order and provide defense.

It was a cycle, one that constantly pushed him forward.

More troops meant more territory. But the more territory he had, the fewer troops he seemed to have. So, the more troops he had, the fewer he had!

’It’s not enough! It’s never, ever enough!’

Thirty-seven Overlord Training points. Henry’s mind was already racing, planning how to use this precious resource.

Every single training point represented a well-trained unit that would become a sharp sword on his path to conquest.

This time, he had to use these training points carefully.

He needed to balance the development of his various troop types, ensuring his army had sufficient strength across the board.

He had to consider the shock power and mobility of his Cavalry, the line-holding and meat-grinding capabilities of his infantry, and the ranged strike power of his shooters.

Henry closed his eyes, calculating. First, he needed to replenish the troops he’d lost in battle, ensuring his existing formations were back to at least minimum strength.

Then, he had to decide which units to prioritize for upgrades and which could remain as they were for now.

Henry’s brow furrowed as he weighed his options. Finally, he opened his eyes, a decision made.

He would use some of the training points to replenish his losses and ensure his army’s integrity.

His archer units were a dime a dozen. Henry didn’t plan to expand their numbers; his future combat style simply didn’t require that many bowmen.

As for Crossbowmen... Henry could just hand out crossbows to his serfs, train them in advance, and then muster them right before a campaign.

He would invest the remaining training points in the units with the most potential to boost their combat effectiveness.

For example, the Lv. 3 Imperial Citizen Cavalry Team! Or the Knight’s Squire Cavalry Team of the same level!

These two unit types were rare and expensive—it cost three Overlord Training points just to get twenty cavalrymen—but they were absolutely worth it!

’Training twenty cavalrymen in just one month to a level where they possess the Martial Arts and combat skills of nobles trained since childhood...’

’...isn’t that worth it?’

Just give them good armor, barding, and weapons, and they become the so-called Square Banner Knights and Armored Cavalry!

This was Henry’s greatest advantage! Mature soldiers produced faster than broiler chickens leaving a factory farm! How could the other nobles possibly compete?

Henry’s Knight Order had technically been established, but it was as good as non-existent.

So far, his Knight Order had only five members, all of them drawn from his personal Attendants.

They were valiant, but their numbers were far too small to be a decisive force.

Now, with thirty-seven Overlord Training points in hand, Henry finally had the chance to expand this expensive unit type.

Fifty Heavy Cavalry. On the continent of Caladia, that was a force not to be underestimated—unless your enemies were Counts, Dukes, Legions, or the emperor himself.

Equipped with heavy plate and barding, they wielded Riding Spears, lances, and broadswords, and could easily shatter an enemy’s infantry line.

On the battlefield, they could deliver a devastating and unstoppable blow to the enemy.

The power of Heavy Cavalry wasn’t just in their equipment and fighting strength. Their very presence had an incalculable effect, boosting their own army’s morale while striking fear into the hearts of the enemy.

A powerful Knight Order could play a decisive role on the battlefield.

On the battlefield, these Heavy Cavalry would charge into the enemy ranks with lightning speed, carving up their formation. The follow-up Light Cavalry and infantry would then swiftly move in to annihilate the divided enemy forces!
