The soldiers exchanged glances. Roland was right. They trusted Henry, and no matter how difficult the situation became, they would always consider their loyalty to him an honor.

They were all Warriors who had faced life and death, and nothing could stop their advance!

The soldiers gripped their weapons and followed Henry deeper into the forest. The surrounding trees seemed to grow denser, and sunlight could barely penetrate the canopy, plunging the forest into shadow.

Occasionally, snowflakes would fall from the branches with a faint sound, but this only made the forest seem even more silent and eerie.

Henry walked at the very front, his gaze firm and his warhammer held tightly in his hand. He could feel the energy fluctuations growing stronger—they were approaching their target.

"Be careful, everyone. We might be close," Henry reminded his soldiers.

His voice was quiet, but every word carried clearly to his soldiers’ ears.

The soldiers nodded and spread out, forming a protective formation around Henry, though he didn’t seem to need their protection.

As they advanced, the light in the forest grew dimmer and dimmer until they arrived at a clearing.

Here, all the trees seemed to have been pushed back by an invisible force, forming a circular open space.

In the center of the open space, a faint light flickered. It looked like a shattered mirror...

Mirrors were still considered a scarce luxury item in Caladia. In the western coastal regions, they often sold out the moment they appeared, and many people had never even seen one.

But Lord Henry was a kind man. After finishing their training, most soldiers would don their neat armor, take up their weapons, and go look at their own handsome reflections in a mirror.

It was a spatial rift. It floated silently in the air, emitting a faint blue light. The soldiers halted, their gazes drawn to the fissure.

Some of them even took an involuntary step forward, wanting a closer look at this mysterious phenomenon.

"Stop!" Roland shouted.

"Don’t get any closer. We don’t know how dangerous it is."

The soldiers froze, their eyes filled with a mixture of curiosity and fear.

Henry nodded. Roland was right; this spatial rift could be hiding unknown dangers.

Henry stood near the rift. He could feel the strange energy emanating from it. He seemed to have found the key to the Inferior Horned Beasts’ appearance.

Unbeknownst to Henry, his thick, blank book was glowing in a pouch on his baggage cart.

The soldiers followed close behind. Here, the energy fluctuations in the air were even stronger, and there seemed to be a pull that made one involuntarily want to draw closer.

"Careful. Everyone, stay alert," Henry said, continuing to observe the spatial rift. He reminded his soldiers while tightening his own grip on his warhammer, preparing to face any Inferior Horned Beasts that might suddenly appear.

"My God, is this real?"

It wasn’t just the soldiers who were stunned; Henry was just as astonished. He circled the spatial rift, clicking his tongue in amazement. He too was awestruck by the sight before him, having never witnessed such a fantastical phenomenon.

No matter which angle he observed it from, the image of the spatial rift remained unchanged.

He cautiously approached the spatial rift, wanting to observe it more closely.

Just then, a powerful surge of energy erupted from the rift, throwing Henry and his soldiers backward.

They barely managed to steady themselves, watching the rift warily. A few soldiers lost their footing and fell to the ground, staring at the spatial rift in astonishment.

’Looks like there really is something unusual here.’

Henry was close to uncovering the secret of the Inferior Horned Beasts. However, the level of danger here far exceeded his expectations—at the very least, it was a far cry from what he had imagined. He couldn’t let his soldiers sacrifice themselves for nothing.

"We’re retreating for now. We’ll fall back and discuss a strategy," Henry ordered decisively.

The soldiers breathed a collective sigh of relief and quickly left the forest. Henry sent men to summon Bain and Claude, who had also brought back some valuable intelligence.

"These special zones are definitely connected to the appearance of the Inferior Horned Beasts. This is no longer something we need to worry about. Have the army turn around at once and return to the border camp."

The very moment everyone turned to leave, Henry felt a wave of dizziness, and his vision went black.

When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in a place both familiar and strange: the wasteland of Khorne!

This wasteland had appeared in his dreams more than once, each time accompanied by endless slaughter and a suffocating number of enemies.

The sight before him made Henry’s heart pound wildly, as if a voice from deep within was calling out to him.

He stood upon a blood-red land, under a sky of the same crimson hue, as if the entire world had been dyed in blood.

The air of the wasteland was thick with the smell of rust—the nauseating stench of fresh blood. All around, the wasteland was littered with the scars of battle.

Broken weapons, shattered shields, scattered armor, and countless bizarrely shaped corpses. Some of the bodies belonged to humans, others to all manner of strange creatures. On all their faces was the agony and terror of their final moments.

In this wasteland, the slaughter never ceased. Even at this very moment, Henry could see a group of Warriors locked in fierce combat.

Their weapons were drenched in blood, yet their faces were twisted into fanatical smiles.

They fought not for victory, but for the sake of slaughter itself—for the thrill of feeling an enemy’s life fade away at their hands.

This sense of finding long-lost kindred spirits gave Henry a heart palpitation. ’Are these people insane? What are they fighting and killing for? Do they have an "Overlord Training" panel too?’

In the distance, a massive pool of blood was boiling, its contents constantly gushing forth. Around the pool, a group of creatures—he could only call them demons—were tearing at fresh corpses, their eyes glinting with a thirst for blood.

A chill shot up from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head—a subconscious reaction. He knew this was the domain of Khorne, a paradise for those beings who craved battle and slaughter!

’Did I actually travel to another world this time? From Caladia to this wasteland?’ Henry pinched himself, then tightened his grip on his warhammer.

’Well, it feels real, but I can’t be sure if it’s a dream.’

’The spatial rift was blue, so I can’t be sure if this is part of someone’s plot.’

Henry glanced around and noticed his vision seemed to have been enhanced. Here, there was no mercy, no pity—only endless battle and death.

In the sky, blood-red clouds were gathering, forming a massive vortex.

A thunderous roar echoed from the vortex. Henry’s eyes widened. ’Is... is that the voice of Khorne?’

’Yes, it is. This is His lust for slaughter and His contempt for life.’

Henry gripped his warhammer tightly. He wanted to tell himself this was all a dream, but his body could feel everything—the acrid stench of blood, the icy ground beneath him.

Not knowing if some wire in his brain had come loose, Henry began to walk across the wasteland, trying to find a way out.

His steps were heavy, for the ground beneath his feet was soft—it was soil saturated with blood. His boots left deep imprints on the blood-red earth.

Suddenly, Henry heard the sound of heavy footsteps behind him. He spun around and saw a massive demon striding toward him.

The demon’s skin was blood-red, and raging flames burned in its eyes.

The greatsword in its hand dripped with blood, and its every step made the very ground tremble.

Henry instinctively raised his warhammer, preparing to meet the demon’s attack.

Just then, Henry felt a powerful force pull him out of the wasteland.

He felt another wave of dizziness, and when he opened his eyes again, he found himself back in the forest, surrounded by his soldiers.

Bain, his other men, and the soldiers were gathered around him, looking at him with concern.

They had seen Henry suddenly stop and shut his eyes, unresponsive to their calls. He had then begun to convulse, and they had assumed he’d been affected by the spatial rift.

Henry didn’t look at the others. Instead, he was pondering a question.

’If I saw that correctly... just as I was about to fight that massive demon, did the Khorne in the sky... have a purple glow?’
