Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka?

Ellow Grand Labyrinth Anomaly Investigation Team ③

Day 13 of entering the labyrinth.

We arrived in the area we had originally been aiming for, and are now investigating demonic thinnings and causes.

but we were supposed to tilt our necks.

There's no such thing as a demon.

"Mm-hmm. The report said there were unusual numbers of demons, but there's no sign of that."

"Oh. Now there was so much more on the road."

The number of demons on the road was certainly high.

Usually I move to avoid combat as much as possible, but this time the demon thinning is one of the important tasks.

Every time I discovered a demon, the knights were to fight.

Because of this, the travel time initially scheduled for ten days has grown to twelve.

Considering your return, the investigation must proceed as quickly as possible.

"Well, it's only day one of the investigation. I'm in no hurry. Besides, it would be more convenient if the demons were gone. Calm down and settle down."

"I hope so."

I'll tell the captain gently, but I don't believe that word myself.

Because the unpleasant feeling I've been feeling since I entered the labyrinth is getting stronger and stronger.

Most things don't happen when I feel this way.

Looks like you should be careful.

Day 15.

"Again, there are no demons. Shouldn't we also look at the big aisles we've been avoiding out of the blue here?

"Hmm. Big passage. Hey."

The investigation had not yielded any results.

Naturally because there are no demons at all that were said to be there.

I'm reluctant with the captain's suggestion.

It's hard to imagine Queen happens to be there, but there are some levels of demons in the main aisle that are not comparable to previous aisles.

Ground dragons in particular are troublesome demons with excellent physical abilities.

I don't want to step into the main aisle if I can, but given the purpose of this one, how can I not go?

"Shit. Captain, if you decide it's dangerous, you'll retreat quickly."

"Right. Everybody, listen up! We're going to the main passage! I'll retreat as soon as I deem it dangerous, so hit me with that intent!

Troops proceed by order of the captain.

"Here."

"Uhm. Let's proceed with caution"

Out in the big aisle.

Take a careful look around.

There's no such thing as demons.

"You don't have any demons here either, do you?

"Mm-hmm. As far as I'm concerned, is this big aisle home to a lot of demons?

"Oh. I've never seen such a quiet big aisle. That's creepy."

"Sounds like you'd better proceed more carefully."

My unpleasant feeling gets stronger.

He tells me it's dangerous for instinct to move on.

"That's not good. I can't stop feeling bad."

"Neither do I."

The captain is sweating cold.

A similar sweat tells my cheek.

Slowly, move on.

There, something caught my eye.

"Is this a spider's nest?

You're a Taratect demon.

It's a giant spider's nest.

The nest alone does not see the figure of its Lord.

This size, the Lord of this nest will undoubtedly be growing into an adult.

"Is the Lord of this nest the cause of this anomaly?

"You will. Take a look."

Earlier I pointed out, there, more than half of the dead dragons were caught in the nest.

"Even the dragon is like this. This could be evolving to the Greater Class."

Taratect species are species whose intensity explodes as a result of evolution.

The top queen is mythical.

By contrast, newborn child spiders have the lowest F-rank.

Needless to say how significant the changes due to evolution are.

Greater Taratect is an evolutionary individual that occurs very rarely.

Its strength is B rank close to A rank.

It's no surprise you're reaching A-rank, considering the ground dragon is also being hit.

"Can you play with A-rank demons?

"You can't. If you're ready to wipe it out, maybe you can crusade, but that's what I'm talking to you about."

"Right. This looks like you should go back. It's in our hands."

"Agreed. We'd better get out of here as soon as possible."

Me and the captain agree.

The two of us nodded at each other, trying to leave the spot,

A terrible chill struck me.

Breathtaking.

A spider's nest with his back turned.

There, something was appearing.

Eye to eye with the captain next door.

Nodding, looking back slowly.

And I had eyes.

A spider.

Similar to familiar taratect species, but slightly different.

A smaller spider demon with a black figure like a sickle in his hand.

I understand in an instant.

He sucks.

I don't even know how it all of a sudden appeared, but it sucks anyway.

My body tenses with fear.

Greater Taratect?

Not on that level.

This guy is not that easy.

"Retreat!"

Return to me with the cry of the captain.

Escape at a glance.

There are no more queues or crap.

I move my feet desperately that make me laugh, just to get away from that.

How much we ran, we were out of the aisle.

Looking back, he's not following us.

The soothing exhalation leaks from there.

When the captain exhaled one too, he immediately began to call.

There were no missing crews.

"Let's get out of the labyrinth right away"

"Oh. I have to contact my home country. There's nothing we can do about such a monster."

I didn't actually fight.

but I knew at a glance.

That's a hell of a monster.

The reason there were so many demons was because the demons that were chased by them and lost their place of residence overflowed the surrounding area.

The reason there were no demons around here was because I ran away from them.

Whatever you think, it's such a monster that you can afford to exceed A-rank.

If you do poorly, you may even be at S-rank.

Such is the kind of thing that brave men and national elites deal with.

Even if you're wrong, you're not the kind of person a normal person like us can handle.

"Zoa Ele"

Someone shrugged.

"What, is that?

"It's that demon. A spider demon representing ominous. But it wasn't supposed to be such a monster."

Apparently, that demon is of a race called Zoa Ele.

But I've never heard of such demons occurring in the Great Labyrinth, etc.

Has it mutated suddenly from the Talatect species?

Apparently it's clearly different from the normal Zoa Ele, and it doesn't seem to be a mutation for sure.

Anyway, we can't do anything more.

We got out of the labyrinth right after that.
