Kuro no Maou

Episode 46: The Mystery of the Apple Box

I've been wondering since I started my adventurous life in the village of Iles.

The question goes back to when I first met Lily.

Thanks to Lily watering me, I woke up and realized I was in the woods.

And then, as you know, as experience suggests, the crux is how I got to Fairy Garden before that.

It was the crate of apples (like fruit) that I snuck into when I was smuggling in a port town on the Ark continent.

The infiltrated crate will be pushed into the barn along with other cargo and sailed for about a week.

All I had to do was sleep in a crate, eat apples in a crate, and develop black magic.

In this development period, we have created convenient magic such as "Loading" and "Shadow Space".

However, on board that wobbly ship, in a narrow box and without movement for a week, there is no wax that makes for a comfortable sailing journey.

Still, I was fine, of course, thanks to the super body that keeps me healthy for over a month without drinking and eating by this modification.

It was an exceptionally good environment after being hungry (I'm hungry just fine) and free, but I just don't feel any more painful than I was in the institution.

So, the last memory I had in the apple box, that's the seventh day since I sailed.

Sleepy, I was already in the finished shadow space with my body only in my face.

In shadow space, even with magic, there is no air, so when you go all the way through your head, you choke, so you have to keep your face out.

It's an even creepy sight of only floating on the surface of your face from the side, but the best way to stretch out your legs and sleep in a narrow box was to use shadow space in this way.

In fact, it's not hot, it's not cold, it's comfortable to sleep in the shadows where you won't feel its shaking on the boat, and if you soak it up to your ears, it's soundproofed, so it doesn't bother with the noise.

Now I suppose the isolation gesture from the outside world of shadow space was the direct cause of not realizing what had happened to me.

I was sleeping in the shadow space on my bunk, wacky that it was in the woods when I realized it.

Yes, the question I had, that time, after the last sleep in the box, in terms of what the hell happened and came all the way to the woods.

At first, I thought that normally ships arrived at the port, packed, transported by road, along the way, fell off a cliff and into the woods.

But that ship was a ship of the Ark continent, no, a human state called the Sinclair Republic, to be more precise.

Across the ship is Virginia, a bridgehead of aggression created by the humans of the Republic on the continent of Pandora.

So far so good, but the Daedalus army has pushed us into Virginia to see if the super inferior will make it to the hinterland like this.

That apple should have been a support supply to Virginia, so it should be consumed in Virginia, and there's no reason to go anywhere else.

In the first place, even if humans want to carry them elsewhere, they shouldn't be able to get out of Virginia.

A contradiction occurs here, the box that should be in Virginia, in reality, is in a fairy garden far west of it.

The man who owns the box can't carry it this far, so who the hell carried it this far?

For a time it was a question that bothered me more than I could sleep at night, but the correct answer to it, the identity of the mysterious transporter, was now found here.

"Weird bird Garuda, was it his fault?"

One of the mountains that shapes the Galahad Mountains, near its summit, is the Garuda nest.

I am currently in the middle of infiltrating this nest to fulfill a special quest with Lily.

In the middle of a cliff, if there's an unnaturally huge horizontal hole, that's the Garuda's nest.

I don't know if it was done naturally or if Garuda dug it, but there are enough horizontal holes about ten meters long and horizontal to be nicely called caves.

In that big cave, in the light and bait that Garuda had picked up like a crow, I discovered the same thing that I had in my apple box.

Inside sight, there are two apple boxes and similar crates are crushed and scattered around them.

In view of the circumstances, I deduced.

Garuda, who flies a tremendous long distance, discovers a Republic convoy at one point at sea.

Whether it was a whim or a clear intention, Garuda attacked the transporter and tried to bring back to the nest a crate packed with tons of apples.

I don't know if I've attacked the transporter many times, or if I can carry multiple pieces at once, but I was also in the corner, one of the apple boxes that Garuda took away.

It is the ability to block shadow space that you should be afraid of not noticing when you say that a ship has been attacked by a bird monster so huge that it is called a weird bird.

I fly through the Pandora Continent sky with Garuda while I sleep deeply.

And only the box with mine in it fell on some applause, the tip that it was where I met Fairy Garden, Lily.

"Oh, that's a little refreshing."

Oops, not if you are now immersed in the openness of what has solved the question.

We're here for a clear purpose, it's your job, your job.

"Lily, look that way, I'm this way"

"Yes."

Me and Lily are playing adventurers in a combination.

Originally, the herb collection quest and the like went together, but the truth is Lily, as always, wished she could live relaxed in the sale of medicines.

But now any quest is going to accompany me and make a living with a splendid adventurer run.

As far as I'm concerned, I didn't want Lily to have a dangerous adventurer's life, but that full moon night, I didn't hear the girl Lily say she was really going to be an adventurer with me, so this officially combined to operate.

It wasn't just about combining adventurers that I made up my mind to talk to the girl Lily through the night.

There was another important decision that...

"Chrono, there it is."

"Oh, there you go, Lily!

Lily holds a shining sword, adorned with colorful gems.

But such a treasure sword, in front of the fairy Lily, who wore clothes, also said its brilliance would be sumptuous.

Yes, another important decision was to clothe Lily.

It was never my fault that I was naked, and it was natural as a fairy, but Lily, the girl, said yes, so this is how I was supposed to wear it.

The black piece wrapped around it looked really good on Lily, who was white enough to glow pale all over her body.

No, if you're already Lily, I'd think even T-shirt Gpan would be cute.

By the way, more than doing adventurers, clothing is an important protective tool for you.

But the clothes Lily is wearing now are just really cute.

Because naked was the defo in the first place, and Lily has the fairy kingdom (Oracle Shield), a powerful, constantly activated shield, as an intrinsic magic (extra), it can only get in the way if it's not so much armor.

By the way, the sphere of light that I saw when I met Lily, the little real fairy, wrapped around, is the fairy kingdom (Oracle Shields).

But even though he is a runaway adventurer, the protective gear he wears is something he wants to restrain.

So I searched for the one that Lily deserved to wear.

That's how I laid eyes on a fabric called Enchanted Beverage, which was handled by a merchant.

The touch, the gloss, they are all brilliant, and the magic of a powerful defense is complimented, making them super luxurious with a magical synergy on top of the luxury.

That price, the price that slightly exceeds all my property with the trick accumulated.

Well, it's only natural that I'm a newbie adventurer.

It was a circumstance for this merchant that I would have given up if I had.

"The treasure sword of a family heirloom passed down from generation to generation has been taken away by Garuda"

That's why.

Place a request for recapture on your guild, but no one has ordered it, and you won't find enough adventurers to deal with Garuda, who is classified as Monster Hazard Rank 4, even as you personally contract.

I wanted to get it back as soon as possible, but there was nothing I could do about it.

Bad for an unfortunate merchant, but an opportunity for me, if I succeed in this request, I can make enchanted billoads of luxury products out of my reach pay.

As a result, the request was accepted on the condition that there was no advance, no guarantee of failure or damage and only remuneration was received upon completion of the request.

I'm only a new adventurer in rank 1, naturally, but I don't trust merchants, but I don't have any follow-up on advances, guarantees, etc., so if you just let me do it from the client, it's free, and there's no reason not to let him take the request.

Thus, for the first time, I personally ordered a quest without passing the Alliance.

"Rabbit is a horn, and now you've accomplished your request."

Well, there was quite a raid of monsters on the road, but this is how Lily just found the treasure sword, and it looks like she won't even have to deal with Garuda.

The strongest I've ever dealt with, with the exception of Saliel, was the last Fire Dragon (Salamander) I fought in a manoeuvre experiment.

It is a rank 4 monster who suffered a serious, dying injury of being eaten through his left arm and stomach by a general burn, but managed to kill him.

Now that you've handled black magic somewhat better than then, and you're equipped, you can defeat it without getting seriously injured but dying.

So it would also be possible to defeat Garuda, who is the same rank 4, somehow if Lily and I were to deal with him the worst.

However, since the crusade of Garuda is not necessary to accomplish the request, it has never crossed the line to avoid battle.

Most importantly, I don't want Lily to get hurt.

"Well, before the landlord returns..."

When I tried to keep going home, a tall squeal sounded like a tweezer.

Outside the cave, in the great sky that stretches from it, I saw one black dot.

That point clearly takes the form of a bird as we approach here. A body that is black all over its body and has long decorative feathers on its head and tail, but reminiscent of eagle-like raptors.

But for a mere eagle, the scale is strange, obviously too big.

"That sucks......"

Naturally, that huge shadow is the weird bird Garda.

And this is the Garuda's nest, and there are giant eggs as many as Lily.

From Garuda's point of view, we're nothing but egg thieves.

"Kyoeeeeeeeee!!

Garuda looming at super high speed with tremendous anger.

Goddamn it, I thought I didn't have to bowl well together!

"We're getting away!

"Yeah!"

The sword of purpose was just thrown into the shadow space, never lost or dropped.

Before Garuda gets here, I jump out of the cave with Lily in my arms and throw myself into the universe.

"I asked you, Lily!

Me and Lily's hands are connected, in the same position I hang in the air.

"Yeah - no!

A slight floating sensation occurs in the body at the same time as Lily's still adorable hanging voice.

"Mm-hmm!"

Lily's brilliant feathers are spreading wider than normal.

He's trying to fly wise with me.

Lily's feathers are not Dada, yeah, you can see them and fly for once.

But Lily, who is not a complete fairy, does not have the ability to fly all four or six times, nor can she fly at high speeds.

"Lily, just hang in there a little longer!

"Hmmm!"

Such an incomplete ability to fly, but Lily flies desperately with my support.

No, flying, it's just falling slower than flying, but still I know Lily's healthy hard work.

The lush forest that spreads beneath your eyes gradually approaches.

The jumped Garuda's nest has already fallen far above, quite a distance.

If you're tall right now, you can handle it.

"Thanks Lily, I'm fine now"

"Chrono-"

I let go of Lily's hand and start a free fall.

You dropped me off with Lily's worried face, but I'm more worried about Lily as far as I'm concerned.

Worst of all, even if you fail to land and break both legs, this body can handle it.

"But was it a little too expensive..."

While I regretted it for a few seconds, I burst into the green trees.

"Ouch -"

The branches fall towards the ground as they vacillate.

I thought the momentum of the fall would be absorbed by the trees, but is it really working?

A glue and an instantaneous, reckless thought flow, and that's less than a second to the ground.

"Gu!"

He manages to regain his posture, landing from both legs, and the impact instantly rushes up to his brain.

"Hey, you got it figured out..."

My toes are gently plunging into the ground, but that's it, I can't feel anything abnormal on either leg. I fell asleep on the spot, thanking my sturdy body for not knowing how many times it would be.

"Chrono ~"

Angel's from above, it wasn't, I can hear Lily.

He jumped into my chest as I fell asleep, glowing two pairs of feathers.

"Are you kidding?"

"It's okay, no problem.

Besides, isn't Garuda coming after us?

"Yeah, he's not here."

Good, I didn't put my hands on the eggs, and I just escaped, so I didn't think it was enough to be stubbornly pursued, but, as expected, you seemed to miss it.

"All right, I've accomplished my request, and I'll just go home and make some tea."

"Yeah!"

I keep Lily in my arms, get up in momentum and follow at the foot of the Galahad Mountains.

Over the sky is the sound of a garuda, the howling of a wind from afar, the faint shaking of the ground whether Dortos is still rampant somewhere today.

The more natural such an environment becomes, the lightning moon equivalent of May has already passed, and today I'm used to adventurer life. Two months had actually passed since I met Lily, the fourth day of the month of Xinyang, a time that hit June that made me feel like an early summer.
