Kuro no Maou

Episode 154: Shadow of Peace (2)

Chrono, Lily and Fiona's adventurer party, Elementmaster, was having a slightly late breakfast at the Cat's Tail Pavilion, where they were staying.

The unique accommodation, made up of all this staff of Cat Beasts (Warcats), in addition to being for the underneath and low-ranking adventurers inside, is a well-deserved accommodation with the use of adventurers flowing from the fierce exterior of the replacement and at the height of the Chronos.

While eating a dish that is not luxurious, but only in quantity, the three discuss an unspecified appointment for the day.

"What do we do today? You want to go to the guild and see it on the quest?

Clono, who is ostensibly disguised as calm, thinks of the actions to be as an adventurer and makes such suggestions.

"You don't have to, Chrono, you don't have to rest a little more..."

Lily, who is young and now regaining adult consciousness, is a statement that cares about Chrono.

"No, I'm fine, and I can't afford that much money."

The bounty for the emergency quest was paid ten gold per capita, or 100,000 clans, more precisely the monetary unit of Sparda.

Silver and gold remained in units in Daedalus, but circulated in a group of urban states in the central part of the continent of Pandora, including Sparda, in a currency unit called 'Klan'.

It's a currency value that can be readily understood by even a slightly mindless adventurer, easy to tell by 1 clan = 1 silver.

"With 300,000 clans, wouldn't you be able to do it for a while if you just wanted to live?

This inn can stay 3000 clans per night, 100 days by simple calculation.

Even Chrono quickly understood that he would be able to live for at least a month, even if he spent quite a bit on food, drink and other things.

"Well, if your food costs are kept down, it's a lot of money to live on."

"Are you going to die on me, Mr. Lily?"

Before Fiona there are already more than double the plates consumed by Chrono and Lily.

I felt like I hadn't seen Fiona's show of command in a long time.

"You can't spend it all on living expenses, we're adventurers, and, you know, we've consumed a lot, so why don't we go shopping to get geared today?

Order extra dishes and leave Fiona alone, who is currently compressing the cost of food in a progressive fashion, and Lily makes such a suggestion.

"Shopping or indeed all kinds of things..."

Come to think of it, too many things Chrono lost in a series of fights.

Beginning with his favorite black robe, The Devil's Embrace (Bafomet Embrace), Black Barista Replica, a rare tact specializing in handling only black magic, swords for the Devil's Sword (Sword Arts), various potions, etc.

In the end, there are only two things left on hand: the "Curse" "Fist", where the arrows penetrated and the hole was empty, and the "Holy Silver Sword (Mithrill Sword)", which was captured from Cyprus.

Roughly all the equipment necessary for the battle was used up or broken by a beautiful sapphire.

"A lot of things, a lot of things you need, if you're bad, you'll fly 300,000 right away"

Chrono feels a little sorry for the two of them without any damage to their gear.

"Nothing. Fine, we'll make about 300,000 in a minute."

Lily didn't say it was‘ a lot of money 'anyway.

"Well, you have to work hard to make money."

Chrono remembered somewhere in a hurry not to do anything like this.

I was told a few days ago at the Spartan Adventurer's Guild that Spartan's military might had enough strength to defend it even if the Crusaders attacked it, a fortress of intransigence set up in the Galahad Mountains that guarded the border.

However, there is a precedent for the Daedalus army, so no matter how much they say is okay, anxiety cannot be wiped away.

That's why I also understand from that standpoint the limits of what the hell I can do to myself that I'm not a one-time adventurer.

Rank 1 and the lowest rank above the rest of the adventurers, such an impossibility to draw attention to the Spartan army, etc., it is clear that you will not be dealt with more than bullshit.

There is nothing I can do but pray that this report on the emergency quest and the upper management of Sparda, who has information on the fall of Daedalus, will increase their vigilance against the Crusaders.

Because we know that, Chrono can't say anything, and Lily thinks it's a matter that's already out of our hands, such as crusade measures, and talks as if we've forgotten.

However, Chrono can't possibly forget about the Crusaders, and he can't care less.

When it comes to what you can realistically do, all you have to do is participate in the battle again as an adventurer when the Crusaders attack you into Sparda.

Think of it, Krono thought it was his responsibility, as in his responsibility, to prepare for the battle against the Crusades, no, to be ‘strong' not to mourn his powerlessness anymore, if I may be more precise.

"Well, let's go shopping today, and I want to get used to this city soon."

Still, Chrono has to say NO if he can shake off his grief and regret right now and say if he can take active action to be strong.

Because people are not that simple.

Now again, as Lily thought, Chrono needed rest.

"Ugh, that's exciting, 'cause I've never been to a big city like this before"

Lily turns a truly adorable smile to Chrono who deserves her appearance.

"Oh, sure, the spardas are huge -"

"Excuse me, sir"

And that's when I get a voice from behind Chrono.

I wasn't so annoyed and noisy, but when I switched, it was the little cat beast man in an apron, dressed and called a good statement, who was definitely the clerk of this inn.

"Sir, Master Chrono, so you're pretty sure?

"Yes."

"I have received your letter, please"

As I thanked him and thanked him, I immediately got good at it when I saw the writing questioning who the hell was going to send me a letter or something.

"From Simon?"

Simon and I have been acting differently since we arrived in Sparda.

My sister, the captain of the unit who showed up for rescue, was too busy to see me afterwards.

I doubt a bit about how you identified your place, but if you're involved with a great Sparda like that sister, I expected you to be able to look into as much as the news of one adventurer.

"So, what happened to Simon?

"Mm, oh, erm..."

Encouraged by Lily to rush him, Chrono runs his eyes in writing.

Chrono, who read what was written there, told him with a serious look on his face.

"I know where the survival of the refugees is."

Yes, Lily replied briefly while realizing that today's shopping had been cancelled.
