Kuro no Maou

Lesson 230: The Price of Justice

To the southwest of Spartan territory, near the border with neighboring Farren, it is a sloppy hilly area.

There is an unpaved street just wide enough to connect the two countries, with two tented camps beside it.

The other day, Eddie, a knight candidate at the Royal Sparda Seminary, who was cleared and promoted to Rank 2, was on his turn surrounding the fire, along with her classmate female student, Shenna.

Bright brown-haired Eddie and pale green-haired Shenna, they don't both look prominent by taking them apart, and they look like a very normal couple of students who are both tall and average as humans at first glance.

But the relationship isn't that colorful yet, and the current situation is simply that the two parties are working together to carry out the quest.

Most importantly, we are now on our way back to Sparda safely fulfilling our quest, and the danger of fighting monsters has passed.

"Phew."

And it won't do Eddie any good to be so relaxed that he opens his mouth and lacks.

"What's wrong with you? You're so sloppy."

But Eddie's attitude seemed unforgivable to Shenna, keeping the serious image with his glasses on.

Slightly larger round glasses sparkle instead of eye light.

"Ugh, that's good. About as long as it takes."

"Just because you're down the street doesn't mean there's no monsters out there, that kind of alarm -"

"Uh, this is why the chairman of the committee..."

The two of us say each other in the light of a bouncing bonfire, but I can't feel the strange and sinister atmosphere, these things are everyday tea meals, and even if the members who are now asleep saw this look, they would have left the couple fights as if they didn't even eat dogs.

"Damn, you can't be a little more sophisticated, too, Elina."

"Don't give up again, Elina. She's not your type."

"Well, that's none of your business!

Eddie, who gets poked where the pain is, overreacts so plainly.

Seeing him like that, Shenna continued her words in a sigh of fright.

"Don't dream, think a little more realistically, there will be more girls..."

"Huh? What else, I'm Erina, I've decided that from the first glance on my mind!

"I'm really stupid now."

Shenna pointing her mouth and saying dissatisfied, Eddie had no idea what the hell upset her so much.

"What about you, you've been studying magic for a long time, and you're not even one of my favorite men?

"Ha! I'm not..."

To Shenna, who turns her back and says vague things, the pinned Eddie sets up a chase all the time here,

"Who!

At that time when he tried, he sensed sharply the signs of someone approaching the camp and raised his voice about who.

If you clear your ears, you hear something like footsteps and groans, apparently you're not going to hide any signs from them at all.

A beat late, Shenna also stood up and waved her favorite short wand (wand) to see what was still invisible beyond the dark night.

"Light (Torch)"

After a quick chant, one magical light appears hollow, illuminating the direction in which the signs appear.

"What, girl?

Coming this way was an indisputably human girl, as Eddie put it.

The outfit is not equipped to go on quests like ours, but is a light everyday outfit that can be found anywhere in rural villages.

Though the streets leading to the village, it is unnatural for such a windy girl as a normal village daughter to wander around in the middle of the night like this.

I don't know if it's the Andette kind.

"Ha, help me... help me, please..."

The moment he heard that sad cry, Eddie put his sword in his sheath and Shenna also untied the scepter.

From a closer look, I quickly discovered that the girl's clothes were worn out as if they had been torn apart in a violent manner, her feet remained barefoot without shoes or sandals, and she was not in an ordinary condition.

"Oh, hey, you okay!?

When I heard from the girl I protected, it was that she had fled the bandits.

"Damn, that's cool."

Two or three younger than this herself, I could guess how she came to be like this without bothering to ask.

Perhaps he has escaped by poking at the crevices of the underprivileged thieves he tried to infiltrate.

"Awkward, I can't believe the bandits were camping near here"

"Let's be more vigilant, I'm sure we'll find this girl who escaped."

Already Eddie's men's party and all the members of Shenna's women's party are up, well armed and gathered.

Everyone turned sharply to their surroundings with a tense face.

"Oh, uh, please, please, help me"

To the younger girl who pleads with tears, Shenna smiled gently to reassure her.

"It's okay, you'll be protected by us."

"Whoa, we're Spartan knights, I'll make sure to protect the weak girls!

"You'll still be a knight apprentice," penetrates Eddie, who says a lot of cool things.

But even if they were still student cadets, their minds were already sparda knights, who, as one, would let this poor girl go, and so on without a trace of dust.

"Hey, look, apparently the bandits noticed this way."

At the tip Eddie pointed out, I saw a line of lights approaching straight this way.

There is no reason for them to escape on foot, with everyone definitely on horseback from speed.

"It's probably gonna be a fight, guys, it's gonna make me feel better."

Four men, four women and eight combined cadets pledge to overcome this ordeal with pride of the Spartan knight.

Just like when I was relative to a monster on the quest, after splitting into avant-gardes, rear guards and forming themselves, from beyond the darkness, the bandits finally appeared.

"Good evening, I was wondering what kind of tough adventurer you are, hehe, aren't you just Miss Boy, a Sparda student, hmm?

Showing up off the lead is creating a humble atmosphere in which armed men, like ourselves, but bandits rather than adventurers, are firmer.

The man was followed by bandits, each with a score, descending above the horse, as they confronted the forming Eddies head-on.

Though the number could not be clearly ascertained in the dark, such as the somewhat higher number of bandits, there seemed to be no fatal difference in power due to the number of people.

Even though Eddie and the others are still sophomores, they have been working out every day, never lagging behind the bandit scene of an incoming collection who hasn't mastered one of their martial arts satisfactorily.

On the contrary, a bandit would not expect to defeat any of these younger children, with a completely sliced, spare look on his face.

Disturbing air flowed between the two, but no sword had yet been pulled out of the sheath, creating a flash of adhesion.

"Come on, don't get so worked up, we're just looking for people"

Apparently, using the leading man as a negotiator, it wasn't going to be a wack to come slaughtered right now.

"We haven't seen anyone."

As the leader of the men's party, Eddie speaks for himself.

The girl I protected was hidden in the tent, and there was nothing out there that caught my eye.

If you can cut through this place by cutting white, you've never crossed it, but...

"Hey brother, it's a wide meadow around here as you can see, it's only about in the tent there that every person can hide themselves, let me see?

Until the bandits rushed here, the reason why they could not let the girl escape was because, as the man said, there was nothing to hide around here.

"Say no."

"We use kids, too. So hey, I'm gonna have to let you check it out for me, I'm in trouble."

Boy, a man who says with a niggling face that it's all a prospect, with his head around him or something.

"You're saying no, man. Lose it."

Ha, and one sigh of exaggeration, and then the man goes on to say even more.

"Hey, brother, aren't you mistaken for us for bandits or something?

"... what?

"We're so-called slave traders, and that's why we're in the middle of an important job chasing slaves, the escaped commodity."

Slavery, the treatment of being, although there are various arrangements in Pandora's countries, is not basically prohibited.

The slave market also exists publicly in Sparda.

He said, "You're hiding poorly. That means you're a better bandit, right? We're officially in the slave business, robbed of goods. We can't keep our mouths shut, but if you're going to give it back to me in person, then it's all done, so we can sleep together in peace tonight."

To eight boys and girls, agitation runs.

If what this man is saying is true, it is they who are to be found guilty of the suspicion of aiding the escape of slaves.

"A slave, I see, but I don't trust what you're saying."

"Hey, well..."

"And most importantly, Sparta forbids the abuse of slaves, and you are guilty of working for a young girl!

Shenna cut after Eddie.

Slavery is recognized in Sparta, but it is not the existence of absolute obedience that appears in the history of the abominable past, where all human rights allowed to be done in any way are stripped.

In urban states, starting with Sparda, which recognises slavery, the responsibility of the owner is established by law with regard to the treatment of slaves.

Even though they have lost themselves to slavery, they are not allowed to work sexual assaults on girls.

At the very least, openly owning a slave requires compliance with such laws.

"Shit, those fucking kids, they said" Chi Riya "

A man evil enough to throw up, but already with Eddie at the head, the cadets pull out their swords, pull their bows, put up their canes, prepare themselves for battle and show no retreat.

"Come on, Osama, either one of you."

"Don't lick the grownups, kids, whoa, bastards, do it - or something, but you guys seem strong inside, and they're a little scared, to be honest"

"... Huh?

I thought he'd be slaughtered as high as he was, and the man is a hella laugh, but he doesn't try to show any intention of killing.

The men who refrain from behind it also seem to have weapons in their hands but are equally unwilling to fuck.

"It's such a wack, teachers, to ask for a caution stick for a time like this!

In response to a man's call, three shadows slowly appeared before the Eddies.

"Oh, finally my turn! I'll give you a twist when I leave you to it, you little shit!!

The biggest shadow was a huge golem that would cross two meters gently.

The hammer (mace) and the large shield (tower shield) in your hand boast a huge size commensurate with your height, and the first eye on your head creeps red.

"Oh, my God, are you really just a kid?"

The next biggest shadow is the skinhead big man, who is smaller on boulders compared to the golem but falls into a fairly long category as a human being.

Simple leather armor and a big swing of Battleax is a classic warrior gear, but from its successful and uplifting muscles, you can't help but feel the power he holds.

"... um"

The last one looked pretty small for reasons alongside the two big ones, but at the same or lower height as Eddie.

Some vain eyed blonde has strangely blue-white skin, twisted face and body, and looks like a seriously ill person at first glance.

But that figure, dressed in a worn black coat with a special made sword called a 'knife' around his waist, remembers a ghostly creep somewhere.

"Hihaha, it's an unexpected arrival of a new product, teachers, and if possible women will be able to ask for it alive!

Thus, the young cadets in charge of Sparda's future will know with their own hands the price of justice being paid without power.
