Kuro no Maou

Episode 256: The Purpose of the Bandit Crusade, If Fiona

Shenna, a cadet girl attending the Royal Sparda Seminary, was dreaming in a warm bed.

"Hmmm... Eddie is really... stupid..."

I hear such a bedtime speech, the content of which seems to be a lot of happiness.

Then after repeating two or three nasty words of sleep, her consciousness finally turns to awakening.

Basically, Shenna doesn't wake up very well, but only this morning could I wake up refreshed thanks to a good dream.

"Hmm, in the morning..."

From the window, the bright sunlight is blocked by a clean white curtain, which becomes a soft light to illuminate the room.

That appearance is instantly recognizable that the time now is morning, even at the head of the wake-up, but it was also at the same time that Shenna felt uncomfortable.

"Mm-hmm, that..."

The first discomfort was that the room was strangely large.

As I look closely, I realize that apparently this room is not the dorm for girls in the seminary where I usually sleep.

"That, right here... where?

He slept in an unfamiliar room, and the moment he realized it, Shenna's consciousness awakened completely.

"Meh, glasses -"

In the meantime, the first action I took was to look for my eyeglasses, my partner who corrects my vision, which was to be taken care of at the same time as enrollment.

The moment I tried to move my hand to explore the area in a half-reflective fashion,

"Sorry, I don't have glasses."

Right from the side, I heard a girl unfamiliar with her ears.

"Who!?

Turning to the side with a voice close to half screaming, there was one dressed girl there who could only be called a ‘witch' wearing a black triangle hat and a robe, sitting in a chair and looking at this one.

A beautiful girl with pale watery hair slightly peeking out of her hat and two golden eyes, who should be the same woman, should not find her eyes so strangely attractive by accident.

As a result of being stared at by a golden gaze that sees through her heart, Shenna could not scream hysterically and disturb herself, but ask the witch in surprise but calmly.

"Who are you? And me, why are you here..."

As if she had already predicted the question, the witch responded instantly.

"I am Fiona Soleil, an adventurer belonging to the rank 3 party Element Master. This is a mansion near the village of Ischia, don't worry, there is no danger."

Shenna breathes a sigh of relief when she senses that Fiona's words, to which she answers neatly, will not be harmed for now.

"I'm Shenna, two years as a knight candidate at the Royal Spartan Seminary"

Beyond what the other person named, this one is also named back according to his courtesy as a knight.

"Then you may be surprised, Mr. Shenna, but listen to me calmly. You were attacked and captured by bandits on your way to Quest, and we helped you to this day."

"Oh, he said he got caught... Huh?

The circumstances told are completely unrecognizable to Shenna.

But the witch kept saying the same thing, as she could see through.

"I can't help but remember myself. You are in a state of loss of memory over the past few days, what time is the last date you remember?

Probably a confirmation inquiry, Shenna desperately explored her memories with a half confused head.

Speaking of my last memory, it is that I went into bed in my dorm room.

That evening was just before the departure date for the quest jointly with a men's party in the same class to which Eddie, a childhood trainer, belonged.

Potions and other items were checked up to the critical point of entering the bed.

Eddie is the leader of the men's party, but I've known him well for a long time that there's something a little sloppy missing, which is why I remember well what a confirmation job he would have done if he hadn't been well prepared.

It is the flow of Shenna's memory that when she wakes up, she will sleep after she finishes her work.

The date yesterday if you remember yourself is:

"Uh... the 20th of the month of red flames"

"Today's date is the fourth of the month of platinum."

Shenna's feeling is that today should definitely be the 21st of the month of Red Flame.

But it was not more than ten days after that that that came out of Fiona's mouth, that she had changed until the moon.

"Oh, no... you're lying, right?

"In that way, your memory seems to have disappeared beautifully"

Disappearing or nothing, Shenna really doesn't remember herself, so much so that it seems more realistic that this witch is plotting herself.

But I can't think of anything like putting myself in some kind of trap that's just one knight candidate with Dada or insanity, and even if it's someone's prank, it's too clumsy on top of bad nature.

If you mean to believe everything Fiona said, you're supposed to be on your way to the quest, you've already been there, and along the way, you'll be attacked and caught by bandits...

"Oh, wait, then what happened to me, no, everyone else!

Shenna and I are not children, even students are already adults at their age, one of the fine adults who can fight monsters.

You can't possibly understand what it means for her to be attacked and captured by bandits.

"The bandits captured you and the female students of the members to sell you as slaves, all four of them, including you, were only slightly injured, I think they have already healed completely."

In response to that word, Shenna looked at her body by paying for a white futon that covered her body reflexively.

At that point, for the first time, I realize that I was naked now, even a little embarrassed, but if I didn't see one of the moles on my body, I wouldn't feel any pain at all.

You're right when it comes to full healing, but if you take it to Shenna, who has no memory, it feels natural that there is no abnormality because she went into bed yesterday and stayed awake.

"Um, there were only four of my parties for girls, but there was supposed to be a party for four boys together,"

"We just rescued the woman being caught here, so we have no idea how the raid went"

Shenna's face blues at once, to be honest, a man is killed if he is attacked and defeated by bandits.

"You shouldn't worry too much right now, you'll be picked up from the guild in a little while, so you should think about the details."

"Oh no... right, sorry..."

First of all, it is a prerequisite to ascertain the authenticity of the matter, and whatever you say, I don't have any memory of it, so I have to check the information in the guild and other public institutions.

"Excuse me, Mr. Shenna, I'm going to take you off a little bit."

And Fiona stood up abruptly.

Regardless, there is no point in stopping it, so I can only shut up and drop it off.

However, Shenna purposefully discovered that Fiona's hands were gripped with pale, luminescent crystal shards.

"What is that... a telecom?

Magic objects (magic items) exist to exchange words even at a distance away, although they are luxury items beyond the reach of a cadet.

The diligent Shenna, who is quite familiar with not only the magic she uses but also the magic fixtures (magic items), knew that a communications machine utilizing a piece of crystal would be able to exchange words for a short while via it, if anyone in her peers had psycholeptic (telepathic) abilities.

For example, it is reasonable to assume that a call was made by someone from a party member named 'Element Master'.

Within five minutes, Fiona opened the door again and showed her face,

"Mr. Shenna, my people are coming to this room to sleep, so if you'll excuse me, will you watch? Finally, if another woman wakes up, please briefly explain the circumstances."

All of a sudden I've thrown a whole job at Shenna.

"Huh? Hey Mr. Fiona!?

"Don't worry, my buddy is just a pretty girl named Lily, the other ladies are next to this room, they're not even locked, so please come in and out appropriately"

"Oh, appropriately, no -"

"Well, thank you"

Pushing unilaterally, Fiona left.

"Oh, yeah... I'm on the protected side...?

Fiona opens the thick wooden door in the basement, the door moved lightly just by pressing gently thanks to Lily blowing every keyhole.

"Ugh... Uh-oh"

I hear such a roar when I go inside, and besides, it's quite noisy indoors because not one but many humans emit the same.

"You look like a zombie."

Until last night, the rogues who work in banditry have now turned out to be meaningless roars in cages.

Zombies, inferior undead monsters without intelligence, but Fiona's analogy was no more accurate.

"Yes, it's disgusting. Please dispose of it quickly."

Lily, as if even the extermination of bugs sprung up at the garden tip asked for, she is the only one who has tailored the bandits to a zombie-like abolitionist, but there is no feeling of guilt there.

Seeing Lily's attitude like that doesn't make Fiona particularly disgusted, because she would have done the same if she were in the same position.

I know it's terrible, but there's not enough reason to stop the act for such emotional reasons alone, because Lily and Fiona have a supreme purpose that will never waver - yes, all to the benefit of Chrono.

"Yes, good job for now, should I say"

Fiona walks over to Lily, who sits on a bed-type restraint table, as if she didn't see a man in a cage.

"I'm really tired, I want to spare some more time next time."

"Less than twenty people in one night, that's a pretty good number,"

The fact that all the men in the cage are in a state of obsolescence is a pointless indication of the fact that as no one could escape the hands of Lily's demons.

"But we've got a meaningful experiment, enough to call it a success."

"Is it a success? Now?"

"Yeah, 'cause I kind of figured out how to use it"

Lily's little hand is gripped with a white ring, a 'thought controller (Angel Ring)', the murder weapon that tailored the men to obsolescence.

A 'thought controller (angel ring)' that allows powerful brainwashing that manipulates people as they please, but just wearing it doesn't work.

Lily's purpose is to fully use this devil's device.

For this reason, human experimentation is an important factor that cannot be indispensable in order to achieve its purpose, by fitting it to humans and testing it as much as its effect.

And while it's a human experiment that can be done publicly, a situation where you can't blame yourself for killing all your opponents, like this bandit crusade, is a great opportunity to do the experiment.

Chrono raised his hand in favor of the bandit crusade when he decided to do so, not for the sake of money, not to mention to help Sparda's female students, just because he thought he was going to get a ton of 'guinea pigs’ to experiment with.

"So you can use it now?

"Unfortunately, I can't, it seems I have to improve a bit to use it, well, if I do the same a few more times, I can finish it, I guess"

Fiona guessed that she would probably have to go on another bandit crusade or an equivalent quest.

"See you later."

I've already done my job. Lily jumps off the restraint table and goes straight to the door.

Speaking of which, Mr. Lily, one of the women woke up.

"Yeah, how'd it go?

"I seem to have completely lost my memory after the 20th of the month of Red Flame, that's a brilliant procedure"

Fiona honestly praised Lily for her arrangements.

Lily says that if you don't have a lot of aftercare, it's because you're having trouble being like you were when Alsace survived.

And more importantly, Chrono would be happy to leave it without a beautiful sapphire, I didn't want him to carry an extra sense of responsibility anymore.

At the end of the day, they all had their own thinkers, and there was a certain ‘fairy-like' feeling that they wanted to make that love come true, dare I say, without saying anything.

"Twentieth of the month of red flames, yeah, I'm glad it worked out"

Actually, how far back can you erase your memory was close to a bet for Lily as well.

I did so relentlessly in Cyprus with the momentum to erase all my memories, so I had not had to take into account the details of the area.

It's hard to erase your memories by limiting your time precisely, and if you did poorly, you didn't have a zero chance of erasing the extra few years.

But not to mention the anxiety, because it worked, Lily decided that it was all her calculations.

"Oh, yeah, Robert, is that it? Thanks for your help. You can go now."

Shortly before we could put our hands on the door, Lily looked back as if she'd remembered now and called out to the three collaborators.

"Hi... Oh, thank you Yasushi... Mr. Lily..."

Robert stood up with a trembling voice.

They had until earlier been made to engage in the task of installing an 'experimental body’ on a platform, which meant that they had been shown in front of their peers how to name a scream of distress, and also that they had taken on that one stick.

The three seem to have been quite mentally involved, and it would be more appropriate to say that they are more tired, no, debilitated than accumulating all night.

Still, with the freedom I finally grabbed in front of me enduring the ordeal, the power to just stand and walk out seems to boil up.

To them now, Lily, smiling in front of the door, might even have looked like an angel celebrating a new doorstep, not a demon child.

"Ha ha... I did it... I did it, now I..."

Did you try to say it would help?

But the whining was blocked by a sudden scorching heat.

"Oh, no, no, no, no!

A scream of three men in the basement wooded at the same time.

"Oh, hey, why, yeah, it's burning, uh-oh!

When I realize it, my feet are entangled with bright red flames, causing me to suffer from intolerable high fever.

No matter, nowhere to walk, Robert and his men throw themselves to the floor to tumble down on the spot, desperately trying in vain to bump their feet and put out the flames that burn.

"Why, I said I'd miss you, but it doesn't look like Fiona's gonna do that, does it?

With no evil at all, and an adorable smile as ever, Lily uttered such a dialogue.

And that must have been all she realized, that she wasn't even willing to bring herself home alive from the start.

"Oh, come on, help -"

Neither Lily nor Fiona were willing to hear any more words.

Though the plea for life, the curse of resentment, is heard in the ears, it is not nearly memorable, and of course, it never reaches their hearts.

"And you're finally going to do something real witchy that's a 'sacrificial ritual’"

"I wasn't going to do it either."

And when did you take it out, Fiona had an old book in her hand.

Thickness and size like a dictionary, the black monochrome fitting that covers it is still more tailored to a boxy look than a book.

"To help Mr. Chrono, I've decided to be ready"

The book is what Fiona has been looking for in the library ever since the first day she started attending seminary.

She expected that what she was looking for would be here, based on the fact that Sparda was a country with a long history, and also a rather splendid library.

And the anticipation was brilliantly centered.

"Heh heh, some wicked gods want sacrifice to give them shelter."

"Otherwise, they won't designate a ban."

From the forbidden book sealed compartment in the basement of Sparda's proud Grand Library, Fiona dived through the twelve dozen junctions and brought it out of a book of sorcery (Spellbook) titled The Sign to the Palace of Ten Thousand Demons.

There is written how to obtain protection by an evil ritual to be practiced.

And that doesn't make a difference in giving Fiona the ‘power’ she needs right now.

In this bandit crusade, if Lily's purpose was to experiment with the human body, Fiona's purpose is to sacrifice to God.

That's why I didn't want Lily to kill the bandits to be sacrificed, even though it doesn't matter if you return the back, if you're even alive.

"Take it out on your own. Are you okay?

"It's okay, I'll put it back right when I'm done with it"

Speaking of which, I still have a meagre memory of Prince Napa, the foolish Avalon, wearing Ichamon on Chrono, who said something like a mess and caution when guiding the Great Library.

But I still didn't think there was a particular problem in retrospect.

Because this is how you can borrow a book without anyone noticing it and use it in the right way.

"So let's just say we finish before Mr. Chrono returns"

That's how Fiona wraps her decaying hardcover around and begins the forbidden ritual as she looks down at the wretched sheep dedicated to the sacrifice with her untouched golden eyes.

"Dedicated to all evil gods -"
