Kuro no Maou

Episode 278: The Recovery Role (Healer)

"That's no good, Chrono-kun!

Earlier I heard a similar dialogue in the Adventurer Guild, but I didn't expect Nell to say it again in the dorm lounge.

lunch break, to Nell, who came after class and Nico smiled,

I'm going to this gladiatorial tournament tomorrow.

and this dialogue returned when I offered the Flyer of the Curse Gladiator Games (Curse Carnival), which I had confidently loaned in my guild.

"Look, Krono-kun, what happens to a cursed weapon if it's just simple strength?"

"Nell, look at this guy"

Even then, the attention to what I just heard seemed to come out, so I decided to just prove it.

Calling from "Shadow Space (Shadowgate)" at your feet is my love sword "Absolute Grievance" Neck Break ", which has been shabby for some time with all of my black magic research lately.

Her resentment, which killed her parents, villagers and chaser knights, is still vibrantly bubbling out today from being a red and black aura.

Will said it before, but apparently this nasty aura is still really nasty, and at first glance anyone can tell this is a "curse weapon" enough.

He has evolved twice, and more importantly, I know best myself, the user, how deep the curse is.

With such a wack, I thought if you showed me this, you'd understand that I'm a curse weapon user in one shot.

"KEEP, KEEP!!

I made Nell cry.

I'm serious, I could be executed for disrespect...

"Oh, I'm sorry, Chrono, I, uh... I'm surprised..."

Something happened, and I managed to close the place.

If this had been in a popular school building, it would have been a catastrophe that could certainly not be cleaned up.

"No, it was my carelessness, I'm sorry"

Let's stop putting out curses (coins) outside of combat anymore, I swore so hard.

"Um, so, are you really going to compete in The Curse Gladiator Games (Curse Carnival)?

The fact that I am a cursed weapon should have made you understand better than any more, but nevertheless Nell seems worried.

"Even the guild noted, is it such a dangerous tournament?

A new weapon of curse will be gained, a quest that can be considered a ship to me for the supreme purpose of expanding my power.

"You don't know what special abilities a curse weapon possesses. Besides, the Tori possessed are in a state of fanaticism (basark) instead of losing their reason, and their physical abilities are rising dramatically."

When Joe the Murderer was a killer, the ability of "bad eating" was known, and there were still specifications for dealing with it.

But with that power and speed, if even more unknown abilities were hidden, the danger would have increased even further.

"Chrono-kun, if you just want to make money, there are many other quests, and don't be too dangerous"

Choosing a quest that isn't dangerous, is never a cowardly act.

If you are a professional adventurer for life, it is very important that you choose a safe quest commensurate with your strengths.

Regardless, some of them, like that man Rudra with the caution stick, seek only battle, but many of the people who work in this world will be professional adventurers.

"It's not, Nell. I'm not doing adventurers for a living, there's a reason I have to be a little stronger."

"What, really?!?

Did Nell see me as a legitimate adventurer?

No, that's all you'll see, it's standard for young adventurers in Sparda to do the quest as well while attending an adventurer course.

"Um, that's..."

You're wondering if I can ask, Nell looks softly restless, and the feathers on his back look anxiously shaken somewhere.

"I have people I really have to kill."

Commander-in-Chief of the Crusades, Seventh Apostle Saliel.

A fake adventurer joking everywhere, the Eighth Apostle Eye.

And killed my people, the Eleventh Apostolic Mass.

"Apostle" boasts a human but superhuman ability, hosting the protection of the White God. I just want the power to take them down - no, we'll definitely get it.

"I'm sorry, I can't say any more"

But this is my problem.

It's not easy to reveal to Nell, if you're a friend, it's flattering.

"So take some chances, but I'm going to the tournament to get my curse weapon."

I may have gotten a little sloppy about it, but nothing else than pushing it off like this.

Seems like you're hiding something from Nell, who told me about me as a dear friend, and although you get a slight sense of guilt, it shouldn't be the right friendship to reveal all your secrets without covering them up.

"Sorry, sounds like you've heard something extra... ok, I won't stop Krono-kun"

Apparently Nell has also shown an understanding, which relieves me ho in my heart.

"But let me help you too!

"What?"

Again, you're a hell of a person to say something... No, maybe it's natural given her character.

"Help, but I'm the only one fighting, okay?

It's not that we're partying or not, purely because this Curse Gladiator Games (Curse Carnival) employs a one-on-one duel between opponents and challengers who are possessed by the curse weapon.

And if you win, you can have the curse weapon your opponent was using.

Even if they defeat the opponent successfully, if they fail to control the curse, they will remain possessed of the new and will fight the next challenger, or will they be sealed and carried over to next year's tournament.

What a cruel end, but it's still up to me to decide whether or not to join. At least it was recruited in the Adventurer Guild, so there's no doubt that it's all self-inflicted.

Anyway, being alone in the battlefield is a prerequisite, direct attacks from allies are, of course, prohibited, as is any reinforced (boost) magical support.

"Ugh, I know the rules. But a gladiator must be a healer after a match."

"Oh, speaking of which, Nell's class is"

"Yes, my class is a healer (Priest), so I'm only confident in healing magic!

What do you say, Nell, who just declares with a confident look.

I also feel that big breast is shaking more proudly than usual.

"I see, a healer..."

Take it for granted, naturally.

If it is an adventurer's quest, avoiding a battle with monsters is one of the splendid means, but so are gladiators whose battle is an end in itself.

If you fight, you will be hurt, whether light or heavy, and fatigue and damage will accumulate in your flesh.

Unlike martial arts, where hand-held air fists, protective equipment and non-lethal weapon equipment are prerequisites, such as those taking place on modern Earth, there are literally life-threatening battles using real weapons in this other world.

Even if you win, if you are poked with a sword, you will be seriously injured, and if there is no healing magic (cure) applied on the spot, it will be too late.

Nell is right, the gladiator needs the support of his fellow healers, which can be called a lifeline.

I don't have Lily right now, and although I have the 'fairy spirit pill' that I can rely on, there are only a few treatments that I can do on the spot without myself.

Her offer is much appreciated by me only having the item and the only healing magic, the 'flesh complement'.

Besides, I can rest assured that Nell is not directly on the battlefield.

"Are you sure? I can't thank you enough."

"No, I'm not thanking you, because we're not your friends!

It is a common dialogue with friends, but it is a tremendous thank you to hear what they say.

But it's called Lily and the good Fiona, and I'm just being helped by girls. I wonder if I'll have to give this huge payback someday, that's the pressure inside.

This time, at least, I want to win so much that I don't need treatment, to reassure you.

"Thank you. Well, thank you."

"Yes, I'll take care of it!
