Kuro no Maou

Episode 490: The Goblin Legion Appears

"It's a goblin! Goblins are out!

It was the third day of the Ice Crystal month, just after the Sabbath, that the report was communicated.

What I discovered was a hunter man who had been in the woods since the early morning. He said he witnessed a flock of goblins in the woods early when he began to seek prey such as ravens, deer and pigs.

The number is five. Wearing thin, dirty furs and bollocks, armed with rusty blade swords, sticks, etc., is typical of wild goblins. But what's notable is that they had two wolf-shaped monster windows like a hound.

Maybe the higher guys than when me and Lily crusaded started building settlements around that western cave.

We do not yet know the details, but anyway, an emergency rally was held immediately bringing together the members who were the lords of the village. The place is a church completely settled as our home. Because of the number of people, the discussion took place in the chapel. Of course, some of them are called me and Sariel.

"You're likely to have a nest nearby, which, too, is quite massive"

It was the mayor of Randolph who spoke of such predictions. The villagers gathered exposed their agitation to some certain narrative.

"There are five goblins that Todd said he saw. They're scouts. If it were a normal nest, there would be two or three of them to be sent out for reconnaissance, but this time it's slightly more"

It was Ryan who started explaining instead of Randolph. He, the head of the vigilante corps, is naturally also present on this occasion.

By the way, Toad is the name of the hunter who discovered the goblin. Finally, a vigilante, this toad is also the Everarm youth who is always hanging out with Ryan and Ted.

"Besides, the worst part is that you're bringing a wolf. He's proof that there's a teacher or a magician in the herd."

And if anyone has the brains and technology, or magic, to draw a line with a normal wild goblin, the threat of that flock increases dramatically. If it's just a herd, I'll let it count and storm, that's the kind of retardation that jumps into my demon bullet (Barrett Arts) simulation myself, but if there's a guy around my head, I'll deal with it accurately.

If you're bad, if you're led by a leader with a good brain, then Goblin will do it.

"They're gonna come at us in big numbers."

There are a few voices that disagree with Ryan's claim that it hasn't been decided yet.

"As soon as Todd went into the woods, he found them. That means I followed Uro right around this village. They already know there are people out there. So, if you're a bunch of little goblins, you don't even get close to people in the first place."

No matter how inept goblins are, they don't act like active monsters of games that come under indiscriminate attack when viewed as people. When their numbers are low, they behave with caution.

But when the numbers increase, they become as belligerent as they were floating in heat, aggressively attacking their surroundings and starting to act to further expand their forces.

I confirm to Sariel that the habits of such goblins are widely known in Pandora and known in Sinclair.

"I came all the way near the village, which means they're already after me. Come long or not, not if we're discussing it. We should just consolidate our protection, Ojiki!

Randolph quietly forgives Ryan for the sword curtain, which is still going to pop out in one hand.

"Well, calm down, Ryan. Whatever it is, it will be no different for anyone to consolidate the village's defenses."

No objections, of course. Randolph faintly proceeds to talk like a confirmation that the meeting will come together.

"In times of need, immediately ring the bell and evacuate to the centre. The man goes on defense around the vigilante. Inspect the weapon and arrange it."

"Shouldn't we also strengthen the fence? Hopefully, we'll get more watchtowers."

"Well, as time and materials allow, we'll also be strengthening our defense equipment"

So, roughly since the conversation about the village's defense measures had hardened, Randolph came to me, as if he remembered.

"By the way, how about Lord Chloe?

"Of course, I will fight too"

That's why I'm hired. No, I don't get any money now, and I'm willing to fight to protect you.

It was only at the beginning that this pioneering village, which came after the village of Iles of Memories and was built, also had the feeling of hating its existence... but now it is totally, emotionally. I even feel like I'm part of the village. Sweet idea, I suppose.

Whatever it is, Leki and Ursula want to protect them, and starting with Ryan and Randolph, the villagers are almost as close as they can get to seeing their faces and names. I can't stop being cold blooded enough to watch the crisis spread to them in silence.

However, there are some things that really bother me.

"Don't you ask the Crusaders for help?

"To the extent that a flock of goblins has appeared, you won't be able to move. Because a bunch of low-level monsters are basically dealt with by vigilantes alone."

I was relieved to hear that.

If the Crusaders don't come, we can fight them fully. This village is already connected to a Lotus of Trustees, more than hiding me for killing Mashram. Not a single guy bothered to sauce the village into the Crusades as a suspicious person in order to put it in crisis.

The people sent to this pioneering village have nowhere else to go but here.

With such certainty, I made a grand declaration to the villagers.

"Don't worry, gentlemen. I will always protect this village - I swear to God."

Well, that god is not about the white one, it's about the pretty demon king.

Gorn, Gorn, and the church bell rang more violently than usual in the Times, the day after discovering the goblin, the fourth day of the Ice Crystal month. Today yesterday, rather than, they were ready to attack the village.

In the morning, a large group of goblins emerged from the woods as Zorozolo, the arrow tip by which the village men tried to leave the village for the logging of trees, and began forming formations on the streets that approached the main entrance of the village.

Fortunately, because of the large number of them, it seems to have taken some time to prepare for the break-in. These are non-combatant women and children evacuated to churches and other centers where we could afford a defensive placement.

"... that's more than I thought"

I come to the gate in the village and watch the Goblin Corps unfold in front of me with the already armed vigilantes.

"Oh, he might be a little nasty."

Standing next to me is Ryan. Fully armed already wearing heavy knight (Armor Knight) armor, but still committed, as usual, no helmet was worn.

As Ryan says like that, surely the other guy is worse than what we assumed. Of all my scarce adventurer experiences, it's a massive goblin population I've never seen before.

As usual, the number is overwhelming, although the Regular Army has weapons like garbage to dispose of with certainty. There are hundreds of them in a glance. It's unlikely to reach a thousand boulders, but it's not strange to be ten times this way. I could already see a few doth black patterned flags flying like they were drawn with blood, whether it was an army temper or not.

Goblins are small and lack more power than humans, and even if we subtract the fact that this is the defensive side, this difference in power is too open.

But the Goblin's power from here is not limited to that number.

As we can see from the fact that the scouts were carrying windows, they have the means to follow monsters.

Even if you can just see it from here, I can confirm that a significant number of windows stand side by side with the goblins. Particularly large individuals were crossed by goblins with relatively good quality spears, distracting cavalry.

I can see a handful of other low-ranking monsters that have never been seen in the Fairy Forest (Fairy Garden), such as slime, big frogs and lizards.

But what's surprising is that it's not such a bunch of miscellaneous fish monsters.

"I didn't know you could follow Dortos."

Among the herds of tall goblins, the giant like its hill can't be inconspicuous. Dorthos, who looked like a grey mammoth, had his eyes glowing red as if he had fallen into fanaticism (basark).

A dozen goblins straddle over their large backs. I can see that the lead guy is holding a reins made of scissors and is completely obliterated. Probably going to keep going and break into the village all at once. And Dortos, who makes it a Rank 3 monster and takes the alias of a runaway beast, can blow it up in one shot, such as such a poor wooden fence and gate.

"It can't be that Goblin is tutoring such a deadbeat monster."

"But we'll have to do more than show up"

"Well, yeah, but that's not a good monster for a country vigilante to deal with... Oh, no dead people"

He's always a mighty Ryan, but if he put such a huge shootout force in front of such a large army on the boulder, he seems to have accidentally crushed that.

Even for me, the Goblin army, which shows things like a mixed army of monsters, reminds me of the battle of the ancient castle of Ischia, which became the second test. Most importantly, from that large legion created by Slowsgill, this is a good place for a small crowd... but it would be too much power to fall such a pioneering village.

But that's also what it would be like if I wasn't here.

"No, I won't let anyone kill me. Open the gate, please."

"Ha, what are you talking about, you can't just come out here alone and be a wacko -"

I snort silently with a grin.

Are you insane?

"It's not even that reckless. I can use magic, so I just want to aim where they're coming in. If it goes to war, I'll slash it and join you."

"What, priest, you can't use magic!? Seriously?"

Speaking of which, I didn't tell you.

I don't have anywhere to use it in my regular mock warfare, and, well, I'd rather not show black magic as much as I can, because I have a good impression as a priest.

But I can't even say that over this period. If you're going to deal with all these monsters, you can't spare them.

"Oh, my God, give me one fancy piece of magic, priest."

"Oh, wow."

It's okay, it must look like flashy magic to me right now. Look, howitzer shelling (grenade burst), it explodes.

But with "The Greed" here, we could have wiped it out at once with a charged particle cannon (plasma blaster) and wiped it out... Hey Saliel, let's not resent it.

Even with proper bare hands, it should be possible to intercept a herd to this extent.

"... Come on, come on"

It's like I'm the only one out front dressed to confront enemy forces head-on.

So, is it just ready over there too? Dawn, Dawn, and a drum-like sound came from the other side. Percussion instruments with animal leather on large wooden drums and small bone finishing would be a signal to them and a tone of warfare.

As such, the center of the crowd cracked to the left and right, wondering if both goblins had made noise with Gaagaa in Russia. Appearing from the back was the guy who at a glance could tell he was the head of the goblin.

On top of the likeness of a divine mystery carried up by the four of us by a goblin of good stature at the moment, Soitz looks great and flustered.

He's as thin as an old man, but what's wrapped around him is his barbarian fashion sense of a white fur robe in pretty clean condition with a raw color cloth wrapped around his shoulders and hips, such as red, blue, and yellow. From the neck it was made of monster fangs and nails, possibly a dagger raptor because of its shape, hanging a necklace that jarred such a thing, with a crown with colorful feather decorations on the head.

What you have in your hand is a long wand (staff) long enough to cross your height. The pattern was just wooden, but the tip was embellished with a horny skull like a goat, with a dark green glow leaking out of its temples.

No matter what you look at it from anywhere, make it the perfect magician type of gear, and everything is like a wild goblin chieftain's establishment. Perhaps it is also the case that he is using small monsters and Dortos.

"Gobble! GUARA, GUARA!!

He is a chief who went out in front of soldiers led by himself and somehow began his speech, but does not understand the content at all because it is not a person's language. But I can somehow guess that you must be inspired to see the poor defense in front of you and the small number of soldiers and that our victory is definitely there.

I can see that he still has a high intelligence line with wild goblins just by gesturing at those performances and watching this when he is speaking. I see, this chief is convinced that it's not strange to create this many groups.

Most dangerous, no doubt, is this chief.

"Demon Bullets (Barrett Arts)"

So I decided to shoot Soytz first.

That the General has emerged from me, the enemy, to the visible position. Being standing in an excellent place with no shield: above the divine. With all the conditions so far, there won't be any reason not to shoot.

From my quietly raised left hand, I created a single demon bullet without preliminary motion, and I dared to snipe before I could detect any signs of magic, a grand sniper like no other.

The chief is obsessed with his speech, and he stands alone in front of the gate. It's like he's not in his eyes. I am completely alarmed that no attack will arrive from this position. In fact, he didn't react at all.

"- Gee!?

But the bullet came off.

Not because I missed my aim. It was bounced.

"Wind defensive magic... were you on minimum alert"

On the verge of hitting me, my demon bullet was blocked by something like a thin green light, slightly distracting its orbit. The bullet, which was supposed to buzz through the middle of the brow, was slightly skewed upwards and ended up only blowing away the polar-colored feather crown above his head.

"Gi, gelaaaaaaaaaa!!

Like angry minds, the chief flipped himself and jumped off the divine shrine, disappearing into a crowd of soldiers, screaming as tall as a monkey.

The situation is quick to decide to alert the next bullet and immediately escape among your allies.

Besides, it seemed like an assault order was given to all the troops at the same time.

The goblins roared and finally began to rush forward.

"Hey Priest, aren't you fucked! Get back here!

Ryan spoke to me like he was in a bit of a hurry before the goblins hit the avalanche and pushed over and the power of the monsters under his command.

Though it's common for me to worry, my black magic is real from here on out.

"- Shooting (Gatling Ba-St)"

I showered a black bullet storm at the guys jumping into the kill zone myself.

It's me with no "Black Barista Replica" or "The Grid," but this "Demon Bullet (Barrett Arts" has been used up to now in scatter. So much so that he almost always kept shooting, such as during the Galahad war.

Looking back, this handy black magic for distance, compared to when I started using it, seems to have become much more familiar with my body. At the earliest, it can be exercised in a natural way as if it were breathing rather than activating magic.

So creating a barrage to such an extent as to crush this degree of frontal assault is not very bitter now either. The magic density that makes up the bullet, the speed of the bullet, the serial firing power, would all be significantly higher than when we exterminated the goblin six months ago.

"Oh, come on... what the hell..."

Ryan and the vigilantes breathe out loud, and the tone of destruction that I play cancels out. While the roaring sound of a machine gun called Baribali continues to sound, a successive pile of corpses builds up in front of me.

Goblin flesh plays brittle and flies. By the size and shape of a large caliber rifle bullet, it seems that it exploded closer than a hive. He smashes his head, hands, feet, and five organs on a white street that is yet to be snowmelted, creating literal blood paths.

Regardless, it is the same with other monsters that follow such an end road. It's a much faster wind than a goblin, but you can't approach me faster than a bullet without dodging it in front of this barrage. Only sink one after the other into a sea of blood, dyeing the characteristic green fur red.

No slime, no big frog, no lizard, have the art of breaking through this one-sided killing storm. We all get along and mince.

"But I still can't stop Dorthos with a handless demon bullet."

It is Dorthos who pushes like a chariot through a killing zone of fear that instantly turned nearly a hundred of his compatriots into blood and flesh pieces.

It's bigger than the elephant you see at the zoo more than once. Huge enough, even if the demon bullet arrives, its stride won't slow down slightly.

Though he is covered in fur that is so sturdy and thick that it cannot be compared to a small monster, his more troublesome defensive ability is the intrinsic magic (extra) of manipulating the wind. The two fangs that Dortos grows like mammoths have a unique shape that he wants to flatten like a heraldica, but this has become the organ that manipulates the wind.

So even if you let the bow and arrow rain from a distance, all the turbulence surrounding the giant bounces off. That's no exception to my demon bullet. It doesn't seem to be completely off track, but it's obvious at first glance that it's too much of a defense rate to prevent fatal injuries.

Although Dortos seeps blood all over his head and forelegs, the momentum of the advance does not diminish at all.

Shooting at The Grid would have allowed me to penetrate without difficulty, but I couldn't help but snooze.

"Demon Sword (Sword Arts)/Rift Blade (Blast Blade)"

With his left hand behind him and continuing the sweep, he pierces Halvard, once in his right hand, into the ground. Then he pulled out one in the long sword, one left and one right of his hips, and finally threw it towards Dorthos, who cut ten meters to the collision.

"Blast"

A black and red blast of flames blew Dortos' giant.

Like a truck that collided head-on with a car in an opposing lane, Dortos rolled over. The dozen goblins that were straddling its back are thrown out in such momentum that with windshield they can afford to poke through it.

The body (Dorthos) and the passengers (Goblins), both torched by a blackflame that burned all over their bodies, scattered on the snow.

"Whoa, whoa..."

"Wow!!

Big shots bring out cheers from vigilantes in Russia.

This made the battlefield considerably more advantageous. Instead, if you dare to carry out a frontal assault like this, I'm going to be able to destroy it myself.

"Gob, Guerra! Geegar!!

That chief can't make such a stupid choice. When he and his thoughts and screams go up, the Goblins' assault stops perfectly, hurrying back to their heels and heading back to the starting point. Most of the time, I barely made it home after I put a bullet in my defenseless back.

"Oh, my God, they're retired."

"No, not yet."

The chief is smart. But if you get hit so unilaterally and lose, it involves your own face. Besides, he still has soldiers left.

"After all, it's been scattered - everyone, set up! They're coming at us from all sides!!

Looks like the Goblin army has still chosen to take advantage of much more than this one to approach it on a wide scale. The army, which had been consolidated on the streets, began to show moves to besiege the village, beginning with scattering left and right along the surrounding woods.

Assault operations aimed at breaking through the gates from the front have already been disrupted by me. Then you just have to get close to where my attack won't arrive.

It's simple, but it's an effective operation against us as widows.

"Hey, get in the mood, Temeira! It's finally our turn!!

"Leave it to me, Aniki!

"Every day the priest bogged down the achievement, I'll show you!!

At least say training there. Well, good, good morale for now.

Though the enemy is sieging, the line has to be thin on the boulders. If it's this dense, even the vigilante will be able to deal with it enough.

All you have to do is hope the dead don't come out.

"Oh, my God! Goblins appeared at the opposite gate! Some big ones!!

"Become, nah!?

I had expected it, but that is a case of falling into the worst category. So much so that I make a similar cry to Ryan on the inside.

If that's all you have, it's no surprise there's a separate squad that lets you attack the other side.

Most of the vigilantes are gathered here at the time the main unit led by the chief showed up. On the other side and on the left and right sides, only a minimum number of people are placed on alert for ambushes. If you can hit some cohesive force, it's very unlikely to hold up. If Dorthos is here, it is a disgrace.

If we allow the intrusion into the village, all that remains is the last defensive force that we have left in the centre. It sounds good when it comes to defense teams, but the reality is that it's a good group of mostly non-combatants, made up of women and children.

One or two goblins would be able to handle it without a problem, but no more than that.

If the gate on the other side was broken, the same would have happened at that point with a crown.

"Ryan, I'm coming. Can I take care of this place?"

"I don't know what to do with it, priest, I asked for it!

That's how I rushed to the other gate for rescue.

Inside my chest, I get more anxiety than I think the village is in danger. Because there, with a few vigilantes... we've been placing Leki.
