Kuro no Maou

Episode 526: Idiots don't heal when they die.

"Slave, or..."

I'm going to have a lot to prepare for! So I broke up with Will and left the dorm, and I squint and twinkle as I look up at the blue sky, which reflects the opposite color from more and more of my mind.

The Saliel Slavery proposal that Will suggested is certainly a great answer to 100% accomplish what I ask for. But it is.

"As a person, you're not forgiven."

Though I don't know what a man like me does now, I still can't help but say it.

In this other world, slavery still exists today, and it is the lowest rank of identity that is normal. In fact, even the modern society of the planet would have a few people who just don't have a name for themselves as slaves and are treated equally to it.

Still, speaking of the sensibilities of modern Japanese, however, slavery has long been a fiction existence, and no one should be able to realistically imagine and feel something called a human being deprived of all human rights. For me, slavery is all I get is images like plowing wasteland with worn clothes, digging mines bare hands, turning ragged and giant gears without meaning.

Well, as for the closest being to slavery, I'm not myself in the age of human experimentation... for now, I don't have the hairy intention of having Saliel undergoing a retrofitting surgery around torture.

"No, but... is this the only way"

Although there are different worlds where slaves exist, I have never been associated with slaves before in my life. At best, during Farren's bandit crusade, he helped the captured girl where she was about to be sold off as a slave, so much so?

I haven't actually seen it whipped, and of course, I've never seen ragged gear.

For once, they don't treat you like a bug because there's some kind of law in Sparda that prohibits excessive abuse of slaves. Even when it comes to slavery, there is a pin to a kili, however cheap it may be, which makes it un 100,000 clans, so to speak, a luxury item. It seems it's not uncommon to make billions of sounds if you're a top class slave. If you think of it as a car-like value, you can also understand that you don't basically treat your slaves badly.

In the end, it's just a matter of feelings, whether I'm convinced or not.

Sariel is only named a slave, and it's up to my discretion to be Lord to actually live a life worthy of it. Completely ownership will be mine, so no one else has the right to speak up.

"Even I don't know what to do..."

The more worried I get, the more I feel like Saliel's treatment doesn't give me a permanent answer. No matter how much Fiona tells me to "forgive," I can tell it's as bad as it gets if I spoil it too much.

"But, well, is this it? In the meantime, let's think slowly again after Will's operation is successful"

In the end, once again, I sighed heavily when I came to the conclusion that I would not advance the problem.

"- Hey, you, Chrono, right?

That's when I hear voices from behind. The voice of a man who I feel sounds familiar somewhere. All these days here, I've only been called Lord Chloe or Priest, but I could react right away even if I was called by the right name.

"That, you... you're Ky, right?

"Ouch!

A sunny smile was undoubtedly the swordsman of 'Wing Road', Ky Est Galblades. How come here, what a dumb question, can't even come up if you see him in his uniform. I'm a student, so I guess it's natural to be on campus.

What concerns me, however, is more fundamental.

"Weren't you stabbed by Sariel?

"Heh, you've been watching Dasey. But, well, you're right. You know, right in the middle of my chest with my sword."

When I did it, I laughed refreshingly, and I felt a little, no, quite anxious about Kai showing that immediate-dead wounded chest banging Dawn forcefully.

"You're not gonna be Saphir's me, are you?

"I don't care if you die."

Apparently, it is reassuring that it has not become undead. I've heard that amazing corpse spiritualists (necromancers) can create glorious undead as if they were truly alive.

"But good for you. Living means it was a good hit."

"No, the steeple's definitely been pulled out."

Then it is a rhetoric as if he had died once and was resurrected.

"My protection is' Immortal Fighter Svaldiaz '. Apparently, once you've had your heart pierced, you've been proficient enough to recover."

"... Ha, you can't try that ability"

I need to know what it is myself until I actually try to eat instant death damage.

"Oops, I've never done this before, but God's power is amazing after all"

I have only learned a little bit in class before about a god named 'Immortal Fighter Svaldiaz' to whom Kai was granted protection. Surely, it should have been a legend that felt like the strongest gladiator with immortal flesh. In spardas, where gladiators thrive, they are more popular protectors than any other country.

But naturally, just because you get the protection of Svaldias doesn't really make you immortal. Kai didn't have to die instantly because he worked out enough to earn the corresponding abilities.

"But you're amazing, too. You knocked him out, that Sariel guy."

If he answers, he's in my room now, what will he look like? In the meantime, I'm pretty sure it's not something you can play yet.

"No, it's all thanks to my people. When I tried alone, it wasn't my hands or my legs."

"We even tried at the party. That's why I'm so sure I know how much, 'cause' Element Master 'is stronger than' Wing Road '."

The look on Kai's face that says so doesn't show colors like resentment or jealousy. Its face, which is purely recognisable for the strength of others, even feels refreshed somewhere.

"Well, that's wacky, so you can mock it with me for a second!

"No, what kind of wacko is that?"

Face the abrupt invitation, but I don't feel so bad either.

I've been rubbing something with the exception of Nell for thinking about the members of "Wing Road," but I don't feel like I want to stick with Kai for saying this. Yes, I'm particularly annoyed about Saphir, who attacked me with clear malice, but I don't hate anything about him like an example of a combat freak. Even when we met at the Adventurer's Guild in Asbel Village, I said we'd be opponents.

Besides, I have plans for today, but not in such a hurry.

"Well, okay. I'm going out with you, Kai. I was in the mood to move my body a little bit."

"Bye! Come on, then, let's go to the arena!

Kai, happy as a child, appeared to me only slightly dressed in beauty.

"- Hey, it's noon. I can't help it, I can't stop it here."

I waved a big wooden sword with Bun and then unraveled a duplicitous arrangement by a big wooden sword as well against Kai, who bears it on his shoulder and shows his back. In my ear, I could hear the bell announcing noon even in the midst of a fierce battle.

"Right."

Phew, exhale one and relax your body, feeling sweaty body and comfortable fatigue that didn't bother you during the fight. I was instantly settled when I met Kai before, but this time I practice not caring about winning or losing. That's why we were meeting with the wooden sword extensively, but I didn't know we'd be doing this for two or three hours in a row.

"I knew if it was just the sword, you'd have a bad minute."

"If they even use magic, I'll be pushed out."

It was a fruitful mock battle inside, so much so that we praised each other for a good fight.

I decided to fight with all the magic sealed to Kai's style. Corner, it's an opportunity to do it one-on-one with a Rank 5 Adventurer swordsman, so you'll still be fighting with the same sword to get the most out of it.

And for the first time, I knew Kai and I were right.

His physical abilities are comparable to mine with enhanced modifications. Very unlikely to be human, truly superhuman power and speed. But most of all, what you should be afraid of is the sword moves that are wielded after a complete grasp of your specs.

At first glance, it seems like a way to fight a force push left to its superior power, but if you actually cross the blades, you can feel that there is a definite skill there. When you push your opponent through with force, it's simply because it's the most sensible.

Kai goes gorgeously with my sword, receiving, playing, flushing. It was a duplicity of large wooden swords, seen in "Absolute Grievance", "Neck Break" and "Raging Tooth Sword", "Striking like a storm," but never finally allowing a clean hit.

During the simulation, Kai broke the wooden sword only once and exchanged it, but I am about five broken. This alone made the difference between me and Kai's swordsmanship obvious.

I realize I still have room for growth, too. There was a long way to go, but there was joy.

"Thank you, Kai. It's been a good practice."

Then, I move my body out of my mind and I feel sunny somewhere. The Lily and Fiona thing must have put more stress on me than I ever imagined, even though I was ready. It's only temporary, but it feels like I was able to dissipate somewhat by forgetting my worries and waving my sword obsessively.

More than expected, I am a sincere thank you.

"Ha ha, you're the first person I've ever met to thank."

Ky, who laughs and answers with pleasure, but, well, anyone who can make Matomo his opponent will be limited even by Sparda. Kai also has a monstrous stamina while gaining skill in swordsmanship. If you keep up with all of his efforts, you won't even remain exhausted and thankful.

"Please again"

"Whoa, call me anytime!

Kai said refreshingly everywhere as he gasped his wet tungtung head with a pre-prepared towel in the corner of the arena. Looking at it this way, it's like a sports boy like the ace in the football or basketball club.

I just get a little envious of Nero that these happy guys are best friends and party members. Even our party thought we couldn't lose out on trust...... no, not now.

"But I feel like thanking you, too. When I get back from Galahad, I'm bored."

"Shouldn't you have taken it on an appropriately high ranking quest as well? All members will be safe."

"'Wing Road' is now in a state of dissolution. Nero went back to Avalon to see Nell, and Charles didn't come back after he was caught at Ma's Royal Castle. The only two who are free are me and Safi...... but the more he combines with him, the dumber I am too. Bye."

Right, has Nero gone back to Avalon yet? Well, the war's over, so naturally. It's been over three months since we settled.

"Work with the right guy, if you want. I could go solo, but now I'm a little stopped."

"Why?

I'm supposed to be in Avalon's knight selection.

"Knight selection?

"Oh, what, you don't know"

So Kai taught me about the Avalon Empire Knight Selection Competition and doing it.

In short, it's like a knight's version of Koshien.

"Every year, I hear from Sparda and other allies. So it's not just Avalon, it's the City State Alliance, it's the Deke Games."

"Oh, it's a sunny stage."

"But it's not. Only students have age limits, so if you're not a genius, you're not gonna be a big opponent."

Though he is a student himself, he beats a lot of mouth, but Kai is a swordsman who has experienced a real battlefield rather than a tournament. I just competed with a well-behaved lady who grew up in a greenhouse, and there's not going to be one thing to gain.

"But there will be about one guy who cares"

"Well. Seris from Imperial School. He's a Nero magic swordsman. I don't know if I can win with Sashi either...... but I just have to pray to God if I'm going to hit it well in the game"

It is a game format like the team battle between Pioneer, Secondary, Middle, Vice General, General and Kendo. You can see the odds of hitting with the person you want.

"But I kind of admire that."

"What is it, Chrono, did you want to leave?

That far to the boulder, not in his spare capacity. I only have prep and workout to prepare for my next crusade... but I have a big problem to clean up before I do. I can't afford anything else.

"Either way, you can't compete in the Adventurer's Course."

"Or so it is."

If his appearance on the Adventurer course was O.K., he would only be able to enroll someone like a skilled adventurer as a helper during the tournament. At a certain age limit, the vast majority will be able to play though.

If I were to re-enter the knight's course here, I would be able to compete without catching on to the age limit, but bearing the school's name would have to be a properly enrolled student. If I have the strength, I will not be chosen.

"How was last year?

"I wasn't out last year. I was just on a quest."

That's why not a single member of 'Wing Road' has appeared. Kai, Safi and Charlotte are not out. Of course, Nell and Nero, the international students, are out of the question.

"That's why the Royal Spa-Da Seminary (we) came back with a loss in the first round. This year, we're going to the right place."

Kai was foolish because he didn't care about the face of the seminary.

"Hey, Chrono, you know what I did with that Sariel. There are still a lot of guys in this world who are stronger than me. I don't have time to step in extra places to catch up with them."

"Why do you want to be strong?

"If you're a man, you've decided you want to be strong!

I see, it is the truth. A line of strength everywhere dazzles me a little bit.

"I was just a little rotten with that kind of wax. But I'm glad you're dealing with me."

You think he's bored?

"I'll be in school all the way to the tournament, so if you're free, I'll ask them again. Bye."

As such, Kai left refreshed.

"... if Will's operation goes well, I'll bring Saliel with me."
