Kuro no Senki (LN)
Lesson 5: The Slave Market, Revised Edition
Why am I here? and Elena Grafias held her knees in the dark.
Closed to the darkness, it's a narrow space where your fingertips touch the walls and your hands are blocked from going within three steps.
Elena Grafias was given life as the daughter of an associate aristocrat.
The quasi aristocracy is only a title given to landlords and majestic farmers, but my father was steadfastly running the territory and building property that surpassed those lower aristocracies there.
My father used to be a temperamental figure, but at the same time he was the bearer of flexible thinking.
Being such a father, Elena, who turned fourteen, sent me off with pleasure when she decided to study abroad.
Elena studied in a group of free urban states where she studied… she learned a lot in one of them.
Exotic language, customs and culture, and arithmetic were among the interesting areas.
Three years later, Elena was told of her father's death.
Elena returned home without taking anything to take, and soon after grief was busted with post-processing.
Eventually, my uncle succeeded my father's cauldron.
At first, no, there was nothing wrong with one thing from start to finish.
Philip, my fiancée, who I haven't seen again in three years, was nice to me, and my uncle cared for me.
Elena was captured when she finally tried to recover from her father's death.
Bandits attacked the mansion.
Bandits slaughtered and killed all their servants and sold Elena off to slave traders.
There were a large number of girls who were grabbed like Elena at the merchant of slavery.
At first, I think they still had human feelings.
I cried and even resisted at times.
But after being beaten many times, they gradually lost hope.
Elena resisted to the end.
He was beaten many times, slapped with a stick, and eventually, the slave trader changed his attitude towards Elena.
The slave trader began to beat Elena without meaning.
When violence and pain normalized, Elena realized she was being shown off.
"... I don't want to die anymore"
My whole body hurts and I don't know where it hurts.
I still have value as a product now, but I don't know what I would do if it sold out.
You will be raped.
I might be cut off a piece of my body.
"I'm scared, Philip."
Elena held her knees and wept.
"Master Chrono, today's breakfast is white, soft bread and fish soup."
With a sweet voice, the general arranged the dishes on the table.
For some reason, the general is wearing maid clothes with wide open breasts.
"Ku, Krono... you don't have a servant."
"I haven't told you yet."
Sitting face-to-face, Tilia has a look on her face like she chewed up a bitter bug in dozens.
That is a similar thing for the lady of Tilia, who looks uncomfortably at the general.
"Shall I feed you, Master Chrono?
"... you can eat it yourself"
Chrono chopped the bread into small pieces and carried it to his mouth.
"Is it delicious?
"Wonder, you don't feel the taste."
Oh? and the general hugs Chrono later and touches Chrono to caress him.
"I need a favor, will you listen to me?
"If you just ask"
"Raise your salary" Reject ""
The general stopped pitching and caressing,
"Rejected"
Chip, the damsel struck her tongue and left Chrono.
"It's good you asked me till the end."
"You signed a contract for one monthly coin and ten silver coins."
"That's right, but for that amount, it'll take you more than five years to reopen the store, even if you're paying off your full debt."
Armed after her head, the general pointed her lips dissatisfied.
"Negotiating wage increases will wait until next spring, okay?
"Master Chrono's ass!
She threw up a childlike losing dialogue and the general left the dining room.
"You're so sweet, you follow the civilians."
"I'm good at that."
I've only been cutting up shops for years and the general is very good.
I can read enough of the first steps and letters of arithmetic, so I can manage the ingredients, and I have the motivation to reopen the store, so the work is serious, and I have an uplifting desire to increase my cooking repertoire in case I reopen it.
The question is, if there is a gap, where we try to create a fait accompli or get tangled up in it and demand an increase in wages?
"By the way, are you free for today? If you're free."
"I have an appointment with Nicolas from the Pics Chamber of Commerce today."
Well, Tilia groaned unfortunately.
"But what kind of promise do you have as a merchant?
"Purchasing Slaves"
"Duh, you think you're a slave?
With her eyes open to surprise, Tilia floated her hips from the chair.
"I'm looking for someone who can do accounting, but I don't have any connections, and it's hard to find them. That's why I decided not to hit it and see it."
"Well, you know what... then don't worry"
I wonder if they thought they would buy slaves for a nasty purpose, and Chrono sipped the soup.
According to Nicola, the slave trade is infrequent in the city of Hachel.
Seems like the reason is that there is no massive demand, but there is a certain demand, so the slave market will stand at the first of the month.
Guided by Nicola, it was one of the taverns in the commercial district that Chrono arrived at.
Usually the wealthy people of the Marquis of Elakis use it as a social place for gentlemen... in short, a luxury whorehouse... to heal their daily fatigue?
Nicola talked to an armed gatekeeper, and Chrono entered the building.
Through the lobby with a carpet that looked expensive, it was a hall there.
There is a full counter bar, there are several couches that seem to be tense in value, and there is also a little stage.
Encouraged by Nicola, Chrono lowered his back to the couch near the stage.
"That's a pretty good seat."
"I guess because you know I'm being kind to Master Chrono"
Nicolas, who has never bought a slave before, joins us, so it is only natural to doubt the existence of Chrono.
If the proprietor of this whorehouse is the owner of a genuine sense of management, he'll be about ready to sell his face.
"Aren't you there Baron Crawford?
"No, sir."
He was called out in a rather playful tone, and Chrono immediately denied it.
"Ha ha, you don't have to hide it... it's a civilian-style stand, but look in its right eye and you can't say that a human being who doesn't know Master Chrono is a merchant"
Chrono sighed through the wound with his fingers.
"He's the owner of this social place," My name is Miles, "
You're a strong pusher, Chrono stared at Miles.
Are you in your late thirties or something?
Smart in shape, slightly muscular.
The eyeballs are so sharp that they don't look like merchants, they sometimes have brown hair all back, and they look like people in that muscle.
"What kind of slave does Master Chrono want?
"... educated slaves"
"But isn't it difficult to accomplish the purpose of how Krono purchases slaves for the first time?
Chrono laughed bitterly at Miles' blatant sell-in.
"Description and would you be happy to help me when I buy it?
"Of course, we will do everything we can"
Strongly put, Miles lowered his back next to Chrono.
"Speaking of which, where do you buy slaves from?
"I don't know the details because I'm just offering a 'place', but the slave traders seem to use and purchase a variety of twats. Some daughters have been sold into the form of debt, while few have been sold without knowing otherwise. But compared to other slaves, sexual slavery would be a better category."
Miles is right when it comes to being right, but unless he's even living in such a miserable life, he wouldn't think so if he were to be sold.
While Chrono talks to Nicolas and Miles about no other love, one seat, again, buries with one.
The slave auction started when about half the seats were filled, but soon Chrono regretted that it should have been left to Nicola.
A slave trader and a thought man takes him, and a slave girl emerges from the sleeve of the stage.
To show how the girl is developing, or wearing a piece of cloth.
It also looks like a show, but the girl's eyes are stained with grief and despair.
That increases every time a girl advances, and after being stripped naked on stage, it reaches its climax.
"... what about the sold slaves?
"If there is any prospect, you will also stand in the next city. If there's no prospect... you know what I mean?
Miles had a terrible grin.
The more time passes, the more disadvantaged the customer will be because the more he serves his purpose, the more he will return.
"Well, next... unfortunately, it doesn't seem to live up to Master Chrono's expectations"
... Philip, Philip, Philip, and Elena muttered their fiancée's name many times and became convinced that it was Philip who opened that door.
Being a junior aristocrat since he was a little boy, he had learned swordsmanship, so he should be able to slash and lay low easily if he was to a degree of relaxation.
So it's Philip who opens that door.
It was an engagement decided by our parents, but there must have been love between us.
The pine light burned the retina and Elena smiled thinly when she saw Philip's fantasy there, but it was the slave trader's men who opened the door.
"No, don't come!
Slaver's men punched Elena in the cheek looking troublesome.
The iron smell stimulated her tongue and Elena realized what it meant to be beaten.
Elena has no merchandise value, slave traders' men must have learned from years of experience.
Seeing dirty feet with excrement, Elena moaned in despair.
I had no idea of reality.
I shouldn't have been mean.
I had a chance to escape if I was bought as a slave.
Even if we can't escape, we should have had a chance to explain the situation.
I was so bored, I crushed my chances myself.
A slave trader stood with an unpleasant grin up the stairs.
"Please, let me take a bath and no one will buy me this outfit."
"It doesn't make a big difference where I took a bath, look!
Being thrust, Elena saw herself in the mirror and there.
"... this, this is terrible"
Elena in the big mirror, there was no shadow of her once.
Her hair was bumpy, her skin bruised and dark, and her left eye half blocked by a swollen eye lid.
"You seemed to think you were smart, but the other slaves were many times smarter"
That happens because you don't listen, the slave trader laughed.
"Come on, just get on stage. If the buyer doesn't come along, I'll kill him with this hand."
Even tears withered in despair, and Elena took the stage.
End of story, Elena looked at a vain gaze at no more than ten remaining guests.
Mm, and Miles' fingers stopped rolling around the roster.
"... Next is the last slave, though"
"Something wrong?
Miles showed Chrono a roster that would be a trade secret.
The roster says the name 'Elena' and excellence in language and arithmetic, but other descriptions are falling out of place.
"Slave traders are among the merchants that pluck out and are greedy. Even a regular merchant would spare no effort if the product could sell a little higher. Seems to be sparing that effort, so I just felt somewhat unnatural."
I see, and Chrono was impressed with Miles.
"Last but not least, I thought this slave would serve the purpose of Master Chrono... Huh!
"What... Huh!
Seeing the last slave, Chrono and Miles lost their voices.
That would be the same for other customers.
The last slave...... Elena was worn out.
My skin is covered with dark bruises and my creepy swollen eyelids are blocking my left eye.
Hair painted on blood and dust doesn't even know its original color and smells bad enough to make you nauseous.
The remaining guests turned away from Elena and took their seats awkwardly.
Having finished walking on stage, Elena had even been stripped of her crude clothes and was staring into the void.
"Apparently, a daughter named Elena was a bad product for a slave trader"
Phew, and Miles exhaled.
"Do you want to buy it? Or wait for the next opportunity?
"Okay, I'll buy that slave. Mr. Nicolas! Get ready for the carriage immediately!
"Yes!"
Chrono took out the crystal for communication and put in contact with the Marquis Elakis residence.
Chrono transported Elena to the Marquis Elakis residence in a Pics Chamber carriage, leaving the treatment to the doctor who was keeping her waiting.
According to the doctor, although the wound is shallower than it looks and considerably debilitating, there is nothing else in life.
As he sat in his chair, Chrono watched Elena sleep like she was dead.
"Chrono-sama?
"Wage increase negotiations are next spring."
"I'm not a woman who can't give up that much."
The general pointed her lips dissatisfied and put her arms together to push her rich breasts up.
"Then why?
"It's like Master Chrono's been beaten, so I came to see how it went."
"... sorry, worry"
Huh, and the general sighed so deeply that there was no more.
"It's okay to be nice, but I don't think Master Chrono needs to worry about this girl."
"I'm not feeling responsible. Just..."
"Just what?
Elbows on his thighs, and Chrono put his hands together.
"Think I was thinking too lightly about slavery. Trying to buy slaves without thinking deeply...... as the general said, it feels beaten by reality"
"... Dear Chrono"
When I looked up, the general's lips blocked that of Chrono.
The woman's tongue tangles in Chrono's tongue and ravages her mouth.
When Chrono remembered her breathlessness, the general finally stopped kissing.
"You can't handle wage increase negotiations, can you?
"I won't stop doing that! It's just... Master Chrono is adorable and he came cum, cum!
Chrono grinned bitterly, looking too childish at the damsel screaming bright red in her face.
"... thank you, the general made me feel better."
"When you get that defenseless smile on your face, you're gonna get in trouble for being serious."
Kissing just to touch at the end, the general walked out of the room.
The awakening was ambiguous.
I wasn't sure how long I'd been regaining consciousness, and when I realized it, Elena was looking up at a strange ceiling.
You didn't die, did you? and Elena couldn't hide her surprise that she survived.
Elena's merchandise value should have been infinitely close to zero at the time she was put on stage.
"Good, you're awake"
Seeing Elena speak, there was one young man there.
Is he about twenty years old?
My hair is black and my eyes are black.
Although it seems familiar to people, a large wound has longitudinal right eye.
"You... you bought me?
"I need someone to be in charge of accounting."
When Elena inquired, the youth said to mock herself.
"But it's good enough. I'll send someone I know home when the wounds heal, so you just think about yourself and take your time to cure them. And... don't hesitate to tell me what you want or want me to do."
"Go home, can you go home?
"Of course I am."
The young man smiled to reassure Elena.
I can go home.
Again, I can see Philip.
But Elena saw bruised floating arms.
My hair is awesome, and I haven't washed my body in days.
"Please, let me take a bath"
"I'll get people, just give me a minute"
After a while, the young man brought back a maid and a minotaur.
"... are you willing to let the subhuman carry you?
"I can't handle a woman on my own."
Isn't this man noble? and Elena leaned her neck inside.
Minotaur is a subordinate who makes him work hard, and he should not touch nobles or quasi nobles.
"Admiral, you usually use elves and dwarves, not minotaurs like me."
"Don't you care that much?
Well, if the Admiral says so.
Minotaur gently lifted Elena and carried her to the bathroom on the same floor.
"It's my job from here. Get the men out of here."
……
maid, called the general, expelled the youth and Minotaur,
"Look, can you stand up?
"Give me a hand."
"What? You're not a child, so walk alone!
Elena pulled over her painful body, took off her negligee and went into the bathroom.
The bathroom was bigger than my parents'.
Elena approached a tub filled with hot water to tarnish even a second faster,
"Wait! We use this tub too, so wash your body first!
When Uggu, and Elena knelt, the general hung the water abusively.
"Yes, that hurts!
"What hurts is proof you're alive!
Uggu, and Elena endured humiliation.
"... that's dirty. How long have you been away from taking a bath?
"No, I don't understand."
The general brutally washed Elena's hair and body.
At first the hot water stained red and black, but it started to flow transparently within repeated times.
"What is that guy?
"Master Chrono?
Uh-huh, the general roared to think as she washed Elena's hair.
"What kind of nobleman is that? Be nice to us, to the people, to the subpeople."
"That just doesn't make sense. If you're human, you still don't have to worry about subhumans. Subhumans are inferior creatures than humans. That's what history proves."
"Right!
"What are you doing!
He was watered as much as he wanted, and Elena screamed.
"Okay, little girl? I don't mind you looking down on the subhuman, but don't throw up words like that in front of Master Chrono right now!
"I get it!
Yelling back, slowly Elena soaked herself in the tub.
A month has passed since Elena was bought out by Chrono.
Did the doctor have good arms, swelling in his left eye pulled and bruises became quite thin as well.
The weakened body also recovered by the time it was free to walk around.
Most of all, it was conditional on someone being escorted out.
I collided with the general every once in a while, but it's strange because I feel sorry for her when I think she's a little impatient.
It's something I've noticed when I can walk around, but the maids of this mansion seem to work more pleasantly with the subordinates.
Somewhat more nervous about humans...... kinda feels great and has a bad vibe.
Apparently, that is due to the fact that employers are different in subhumans and humans.
Chrono Crawford, who bought Elena, even though it feels like we talked about it, was quite a favorite.
She fulfilled Elena's desire to send out a letter, and she responded comfortably to my desire to read a book.
If there are any shortcomings,
"I can't believe you're getting your hands on a half-elf"
When she went to return the borrowed book, Elena accidentally witnessed the scene of a brown half-elf sneaking into Chrono's room.
It was an entirely unknown realm for Elena, who had been studying all the time, because she heard the kind of gasp that pushed her to death in that citation.
"Are you awake?
"... Huh! Yes! I'm awake!
Chrono put his face out of the gap in the door, and Elena woke up.
For some reason, the general is with me.
"And the letter?
"... that's the thing"
Chrono had such an awkward look on his face that he lowered his back to the chair next to the bed.
"You know, Pics, I met with the merchant and you know what?
"Yeah, he's famous."
"I asked someone from the Pics Chamber of Commerce to try to deliver your letter... apparently, you're supposed to be dead"
Huh? And Elena couldn't understand what Chrono meant by words.
"Why, I'm alive."
"You were supposed to have been killed with a servant when the bandits attacked you."
"We have to solve the misunderstanding immediately!
"... Huh!
As soon as she got out of bed, Elena was grabbed in the arm by Chrono.
"Hey, let go of me! I told you you'd let me go home!
"... I want you to go home, but things have changed."
A tickle and chills crawl up Elena's spine.
A person who should have officially died.
Maybe this guy... is going to make me a sex slave?
"Dear Chrono, why don't you tell him the truth?
The general scratched her hair up like a pain in the ass.
"The truth is, what?
"Ha, you seem to think you're smart yourself, but you're a bottomless fool"
The general uttered the same words as the slave trader, as she bewitched.
"General!"
"Do you mind? Your letter came to Fiancé with your uncle. If it's true, how can you deny your survival if you have to be happy?
"... it"
Elena's clear brains immediately derived the answer, but Elena herself could not speak of it.
"If you don't, I'll tell you. You're the" general ".
Chrono blocked the woman's words.
"I'll tell you from there."
Chrono sat back down and sighed deeply.
"Elena, you've fallen prey to your uncle and fiancé."
"How did you two get me?
"The purpose is the property of the Grafias family. Your uncle is entrusted with property control, but the official heir is you."
"Phew, what about Philip? If you marry me, all the Grafias property will belong to him! He doesn't have the advantage of falling for me!
Saying, Elena was aware of herself talking about her interests.
"You were studying in the Free Cities group, weren't you?
"Oh, that's what it is!
"Isn't this what he thought? Even if you get married, you're smart. You're not going to let yourself take care of your property. Maybe your uncle brought you an accomplice that your property would be yours if you married your own daughter."
"... oh, no"
Realizing that what she believed to be a cornerstone was nothing more than a cabinet on the sand, Elena was struck by the feeling of her feet collapsing.
"Oh, your mother!
"He was dead. I don't know for sure, but they must have killed him."
Now it's time Elena lost her word.
"Now no one can prove to me that you are Elena Grafias. All my servants have been killed, and it's my job to be killed where I left off."
"... well, get out!
Elena finally screamed that way.
At night, Elena woke up.
Apparently, he was sleeping tired of crying.
It's dinner time.
"I don't want it"
The general sighed and placed the silver tray on her desk.
"Whoa, whoa."
"If you leave the tray, leave."
The general sat in a chair beside her bed looking like a hundred million bucks.
"Have you thought about how to shake yourself?
"There's no way you can think in this situation. My uncle and Fiancé betrayed me, sold me as a slave, and on top of that, even my mother... something, it doesn't matter anymore"
Elena buried her face in the pillow and replied in tears.
Even Philip, who supported his heart, was the enemy.
If you think about it now, how did you know there was love?
"Your mother was murdered, and you're so flirtatious."
"You, what do you know! Your mother was murdered and you decided you wanted revenge! But, but... I don't have anything right now. No quasi noble status, no money, not even the art of proving that I'm Elena Grafias! Now, how are we supposed to get revenge!
As Elena left it to her anger to scream, the general sighed as if she were frightened.
"Is your head decorative? If you don't have anything, figure out a way to avenge it!
"Think?"
Elena felt like she saw the light in the lady general's words.
I've lost everything, but the knowledge I've developed in three years of study abroad is alive and well.
The general is gone, but carefully Elena worked out a plan for revenge.
A terribly far-fetched, besides letting others, and a big element of luck.
However,
"Uncle, Philip, I'm gonna make you regret betraying me until you die."
Glittering eyes, Elena contained a completely chilled soup in her mouth.
