Kuro no Senki (LN)

Episode 9: Night Assault

Battle casualties in battle are cavalry hundreds, infantry hundreds, archers hundreds… including the seriously injured would have suffered comparable damage to one battalion.

Most of this is due to enemy cavalry, with the non-Kingsguard captain and deputy class down in number in half.

It's not like he's hopeless on the numbers, but Krono was walking behind the main line with his deputy.

A field hospital set up at the rear of the main battalion...... there is just a line of tents combining dismantled fences and tents... but there was so much blood odor and groaning of soldiers that they wanted to cover their ears that they couldn't smell anything else.

There is no bed. Soldiers are laid to sleep on a cloth laid on the ground.

Those who have lost their arms, those who have lost their legs, those who cry with their bellies heavily torn apart, those who similarly shrug their bellies and stare into the void in silence...... the air in the field hospital is stained with despair.

The doctors that Chrono had brought from Marquis Elakis territory to fight such despair were running around among the patients.

"... Dear Chrono"

The doctor, who dyed his hands in blood, looked at Chrono and lay down his face sorry.

"I don't need medical attention because I have minor injuries. You... treat subhumans, humans, nobles, and civilians separately. That's all you have to do."

"Sorry!

That said, the doctor turned his back on Chrono to do his job.

Admiral, why is your shoulder okay? '(Buyabu)

"If you move it, it'll gush... maybe it'll be okay"

It's Mr. Minot who dislocated his shoulders and embedded them in his power, but he should swallow grudges here.

"... and temple wounds"

"I'm worried about baldness."

When I touched the temples, I fell apart and dry blood.

Chrono climbed the hill making sure he was underfoot.

Admiral, you're out of line with the position, right? '(Bubba?

"They're calling me to a tactical meeting, so it's fine over here."

"Is it fair to say that you are finally admitted to this case? '(Bubba?

"The battalion captain and his deputy died in battle, and he couldn't afford to let them play with the zero drop."

"Then I'll come and see how everyone's doing instead of Master Chrono."

"Wait, wait!

Chrono turned around and called the deputy.

"He's my deputy, so I'd be in trouble if Mr. Minot didn't attend a tactical meeting."

Admiral, I'm a subordinate, right? '(Bubba?

"I'm an alien, aren't I?

Chrono desperately persuaded his deputy to return to the camp position.

"... understandable" (Bubba)

The deputy nodded like exhausted.

"I'm going to propose a night raid at a tactical conference, is it going to be handsome?

"Well, if you tell me to do it, I'll do it."

But the deputy said as he looked down at Chrono.

"If you make a mistake about a night raid, you'll be called a coward."

"I don't mind that. All I was worried about was if I could make a night raid."

Just do it if night raids are possible.

'Admiral, what am I saying? Noble people are a little more proud of their pride and face. "

"I'm proud of nobility. He doesn't know one thing right now."

No, I know that fighting squarely is nobility, and I'm going to know that I have to risk my life for nobility, but I really don't get it sensibly.

"If you squeeze your wits to reduce your sacrifice a little, and you're not noble, or you're called a coward, you just have to be acceptable."

"If they say so much, it's very clear."

Chrono and his deputy climbed the hill and headed to the tent where the tactical meeting was taking place.

"Why are the Asians at a tactical meeting?

"Count Pisce, he is my deputy. Besides, there shouldn't have been a rule that subpeople should not attend tactical meetings."

Nothing but a manoeuvre, but Count Pisce tongued and silenced.

Inside the tent stands Leonhardt, Count Pisce, the man who rambled in Leo's grave, two men surrounding his desk, behind which his deputy refrains.

Particularly eye-catching is the female knight standing behind Count Pisce.

I guess my age hasn't been long since I graduated from military school.

The short aligned blonde hair is dirty with sebum and glows like it has been applied.

"As you all know, we have killed 500 people in today's battle. Including three battalion captains and four deputies... one of my deputies who died in the war..."

A female knight smiled thinly behind Count Pisce.

You want to laugh because your boss got promoted because he died in action, but you want him to give you a little more space.

"The battalion, in which the captain and his deputy died in battle, is temporarily reorganized as the Knights of Kingsguard Depository, to be repositioned in the form in which Lord Leonhardt's First Kingsguard Knights and my Twelfth Kingsguard Knights are replaced"

"Let me do my best"

When Leonhardt declared, everyone exhaled as if relieved.

I think it's a reasonable decision to reposition the squad, Krono also thinks.

"Um, is this the end of the tactical meeting?

"Lord Chrono, do you have an opinion?

Leonhardt said, everyone's gaze focused on Chrono.

"... I know we're going to regroup and reposition our troops from the outcome of today's battle."

"Oh, are you questioning Master Leonhardt's strength? Lady Leonhardt is the son of the Duke of Palatium, and an unparalleled user of swords and divine authority. That strength outweighs your father, Slaughter Claude."

Count Pisce's deputy praised Leonhardt.

Though I may just be making fun of Chrono by engaging Leonhardt.

"Lord Chrono, will you believe me?

"Believe it or not, that's not what we're talking about emotionally."

Chrono was halfway through how he cut out the story.

I know Leonhardt has as much combat power as he can be trusted.

Well, we'll have to reopen it, won't we?

"… I propose a night attack against the Holy Argo Royal Army"

"What are you thinking!

"That's right! There is no pride in nobility such as night raids!

"You coward!

When Chrono said, Count Pisce's deputy and the two captains rode themselves out and shouted.

"If you're leading a subhuman, you'll be humbled to the point of your head."

The last was the battalion captain with his arms hanging...... a man who defiled Leo's death, but Chrono barely restrained himself.

Most of all, I was determined to kill him when I had the chance.

"I'm just making reasonable suggestions. Indeed, Lord Leonhardt would be able to fight each other against the deep red cavalry. But I think the commander should hit every hand to win. At least that's how my father taught me."

"Hmm, Lord Claude's words make sense."

It is a lie. Chrono was so physically tapped into the foundations of swordsmanship by his adoptive father, but Leonhardt, who didn't know he was, nodded magically.

"It's noble to smash it from the front, no matter what the enemy does!

"Don't think that kind of dialogue should be said after you stand on the arrow"

Tapping lightly, Count Pisce's deputy stared at Chrono in a haunted shape.

"What do you know about nobility in the Son of the Beginner?

"... I don't know."

"Naturally. When you say you've been given the title, you can't possibly understand the pride of nobility in the son of a grown man, no, a lowly mercenary."

As Count Pisce's deputy circled his gaze, he nodded with a grin of obedience except Count Pisce and Leonhardt.

"Yeah, I don't understand your pride in nobility."

So Chrono smiled maliciously.

"Would you let a soldier dying in a field hospital hear his current speech?

"What are you talking about?

"So the soldier who lost his arm or leg made his belly... just a soldier who was torn to the gut and waited for his death. Tell him how proud he is of his nobility. There's a way to contain the damage and fight it, but I'm going to waste my soldiers for noble pride."

Chrono deepened his grin, aware that his cheeks would draw.

"That doesn't make any sense!

"Right. For a dying soldier, noble pride is not worth a single piece of copper coin."

Conn, Conn and Chrono slapped the desk with their fingertips.

"In short, I just want you to bring up your noble pride and not fail in your duty as commander."

Oh, and Chrono nodded many times.

"I have a kid named Faye in my crew, and you look a lot like her."

"Wow, what do I look like to a horse shit woman?

"Nothing."

Ignoring her calling to hysterics, Krono turned his gaze to Count Pisce.

You didn't think Faye's name would come up here, Count Pisce looks like he chewed up a bitter bug.

"Marquis Elakis, do you have a chance?

"Of course it is. We use this to organize our troops at night and work together smoothly."

Asked by Count Pisce, Chrono took out a transparent sphere… a magic item for communication.

"It's a long way to go."

"Plans for a night raid...... not big enough to call it that, but a separate task force will burn down the food while the troops get close to enemy positions in the shade of night"

"Well, you can't keep fighting without food."

"You can't fight when you're hungry. I think this is the truth, the country, the times, even the world."

Chrono replied with a grin at Count Pisce, who nodded uncomfortably.

"... chip"

Count Pisce pounded his tongue and chewed his nails in frustration.

You must be thinking about self-preservation or something, Krono stared at Count Pisce.

"... there seems to be a need for debate on this issue. Lord Leonhardt, anyone but the Marquis of Elakis and his deputy wants you to be sharp in preparation for tomorrow."

Pay people, that was the conclusion made by Count Pisce.

"I'm not kidding! I can't believe I attacked you at night... Huh!

"Cecily, I told you to be sharp. Or would you prefer a stables cleaner, not a deputy?

"I will obey orders!

Demotion HR was suggested and Count Pisce's deputy...... Cecily left the tent with this again haunted shape.

Other captains don't seem funny either, but they don't mane like Cecily to defy them.

Leonhardt, Chrono and his deputy Minot looked over at the remaining tent, and Count Pisce slipped back to the chair somewhat.

"Marquis Elakis, how's the war coming from your eyes?

"How's it going, Mr. Minot?

Are you swinging at me there? '(Bubba?

The deputy opened his eyes to his surprise and sighed deeply.

'... is it easier for you to forgive me for speaking?' (also ~?)

"I didn't know you'd be the feather of listening to the subhuman words...... well, I don't mind. This is all they poisoned me with. As much as a little poison has been added, there is no difference."

Count Pisce looked disgusted from the bottom of his heart and urged him to speak.

"From my eyes, the situation is not easy. Today's battle is easy to win, but we can't replenish it, so the opponent can replenish it all he wants. Besides, if you don't have the morale, you can't do anything but attack the city at night." (Bubble, Bubble)

"I agree with Mr. Minot."

The deputy turns his suspicious gaze, but Krono strained his chest.

"Where is Lord Leonhardt?

"I don't mind a rearrangement of the squad if we're going to outdo this, but we have to deal with it on an ad hoc basis in order to achieve our goals"

Chrono opened his eyes because he didn't think Leonhardt was positive about the night raid.

"What's wrong with you?

"No, because I thought Lord Leonhardt would recall the pride of his nobility"

"If I'm going to stand alone on the arrow, I'm going to keep being mean to the end. I'm just saying that there are limits to my men's lives."

Count Pisce stared at Chrono with an exploratory gaze.

"... as a nobleman, I cannot fully acknowledge the night raid. But you can be silent on your actions."

"I mean, you want me to do what I did on my own?

"Isn't that a little too convenient?

Chrono and Leonhardt pointed out, Count Pisce leaned down without saying anything back.

No, let's think about things, Krono reconsidered.

"Okay."

"Lord Chrono!

"Whoa, Marquis Elakis!

To embarrass Leonhardt, Count Pisce called Chrono with pleasure.

"No, it's not free. If the operation succeeds, if it fails, I want my wounded men to be promised the best possible treatment and the right reward."

"Kikyu, can you give me money or something? I'm just a court nobleman!

"You mustn't lie, Count Pisce"

As Chrono turned around, Rio was standing outside the tent.

"Hey, what are you talking about"

"Oh, you thought I didn't know?

"Okay! Promise the best treatment and reward to soldiers participating in night raids!

When Rio had a frantic grin, Count Pisce raised a screaming voice.

"Then let this Leonhardt be a witness"

"Then I have to be a witness."

The two colleagues took their vows, and Count Pisce fell powerless.

Stuffed with detail, Krono took his deputy and Rio back to his men.

After the meal, my men seem to be taking a break surrounding the burning fire.

Somehow, Chrono narrowed his eyes because he felt the number of his men was increasing.

I don't know the fine numbers, but I feel like my troops are about 30% bigger.

"Mr. Minot, would you have had so many of my men?

"The battalion captain and his deputy died, and the subordinates there just poured in."

If you ask me, I feel like I have a crudely equipped sub.

"If you see the Admiral calling out to his men during the break, they usually come this way." (Bubba Bubba)

"Is it good that the army looks like this?

Chrono tilted his neck and stared at Rio.

"Is it okay for Rio to leave his Knights alone, too?

"I'm leaving it to my deputy, so it's okay. Yeah, I hope you don't get me wrong, but my deputy works as a butler at my house. He's one of the few people I trust. That's why I'm taking part in the night raid."

"... Mr. Minot, I'll go to the tent to pick up my stuff, so I'll call a hundred captains and pick a member to join the night raid. Then give Rio the armor and the sword and the mechanical bow."

Chrono broke up with the two of them and headed to his tent.

Remove the package from the large crate and poke it in the corner, the gacon and the bottom plate of the box come off.

What was there was a vast bottle of gold and wine.

"... I'm glad it's not broken"

"What's not cracked?

When I took the bottle and turned around, the general stood with the tray in one hand.

"Oh, madam."

"When a nobleman with a lot of money gives you a relieved face, you'll have trouble reacting. And why did you have to bring gold to the battlefield?

"Well, it doesn't get in the way."

Chrono took a piece of gold and played it with his thumb.

"If I had the money, I might be able to buy supplies on enemy land, and if my men paid the ransom when they were taken prisoner, they might be able to free me."

"Don't you think I'd steal it if you were so pessimistic about things?

Chrono played gold coins with his fingers,

"Are you going to steal it?

"If that's what you're going to do, I won't call you from the beginning."

I see, and Chrono put the bottom plate back in place and put his personal belongings in the box.

"So, what do you do for dinner?

"What about Mr. Minot?

"I've been feeding you so hard. If Master Chrono doesn't want to be eaten, he'll eat properly."

Chrono poured bread and soup into his stomach and brutally wiped his mouth.

"I'd like to cook you some more hands-on dishes."

"Well, all this."

Shoulder to shoulder, Krono went out of the tent.

Returning to his men, the deputy, Rio, Deneb, Aridead, Lizad...... Tiga, a man tiger (Wartiger) promoted to captain of a hundred instead of Leo, was waiting for Chrono.

Chrono stared at his men, neatly lined up a little further away, his feet trembling in fear, but his chest stretched.

"Mr. Minot, what's your candidate?

"Hey, the Minotaurs are no better at night than the other Beasts, so the Horus squad makes it easier to keep them waiting. Deneb, Aridead, and Tyga said they could move their own squads, and Lizad could move thanks to the hot stones, so they would make it easier to command the squadron that had flown in with the thirty-four Lizardmans who wouldn't pull the luggage. I command a mixed unit of new Orcs and Elves."

"What's the breakdown of the mixed units?

"Seventy for the Beast Man and thirty for the Elf Archer."

Four hundred and eighty-four...... it's insane to challenge the battle with so many people, said Krono, with a drawn grin.

"... I'm going to launch a night raid, before I do"

Chrono rolled the barrel that was nearby and sprinkled the water, jumping into the muddy ground.

When you mud all over your body and raise your face,

"Um, Master Chrono?

"Hey, sorry to hear about your head"

Deneb and Aridead were turning a pitiful gaze.

"I didn't! I'm putting mud on my whole body to make it less noticeable! Everyone coats their whole bodies with mud too! The unavailable people mow the nearby dead grass and prepare the strings! Time won't wait for me!

"Yeah, we're nothing... yah!

Chrono dragged one of the twins' cracks into the mud in a crab pinched procedure.

"Hey, hey, chest, don't grab my chest!

"You've got plenty of breasts."

Whether they realized Chrono's true intentions or didn't want him to be dragged into the mud, their men did not hesitate to coat their entire bodies with mud and camouflage with dead grass, the sight of a dead grass obsession lined up neatly.

"... I can't let my parents see this anymore."

"Hide yourself on the slopes while you move on in the grass!

"There was no reinforcement of the border fort, but the element of uncertainty in the battle is an accessory. Considering the enormous damage done to the enemy, I'd say the operation was a success."

Ignis' mood was depressing with the wine-leaning clergyman sidelined.

You have lost 500 Archers, 500 Infantry, and 100 Cavalry at the cost of inflicting great damage on your enemies.

Will the damage be increased by 50% if we include those who have suffered wounds that cannot withstand the battle?

"Tomorrow evening the soldiers of the replenishment are supposed to arrive"

……

At the very least, salvation is easy to replenish soldiers, but we have to be prepared to reduce tax revenues significantly more than we are tailoring peasants to soldiers.

Ignis followed the tent to escape from the clergy who lined up the optimistic elements.

"... after all, you're used to your men dying"

A subordinate of his own, hiding on the slope and approaching, raids the enemy formation.

Things were going well along the way.

No, he thought that even if it didn't work out, not a hundred people could lose their men.

But when I opened the lid, the hundred heavy cavalry were wiped out.

"Is this the new magic developed by the Empire?

Magic piercing sheet metal armor (plate mails)...... If such objects were developed, the way of war would change.

If we fail to cope with that change, the Kingdom of Holy Argo will be destroyed by the Kepheus Empire or made a nation.

"No, you should think about it after you win tomorrow's fight"

Ignis turned to his tent.

The camp position of the Holy Argo Royal Army was set adjacent to the woods that protruded into the hills.

I can't find him.

"... if they make me dress like this and find me light, I won't even be able to see you? Besides, this isn't the war I know to crawl close to the enemy."

"We'll be fine in a few hundred years because this will be the world standard. Maybe we're on the cutting edge of the world."

Less than a hundred meters to the enemy formation...... soldiers on watch are walking around, but they don't even realize if they're less skilled or better disguised.

"So, what do you want me to do?

"Me and Rio, Mr. Minot, Lizado and Tyga go into the enemy formation. Deneb and Aridead lurk in the woods and even target their enemies. Deneb, Aridead, are you in position?

"Shit, what's the predetermined position?

"Can you reach the woods behind you?

The bewildered voices of Deneb and Aridead echoed from communications magic items.

"Deneb, Aridead... if you give the signal, shoot the guard soldier. Afterwards, we shout out and rush into the enemy line, so Deneb and Aridead's troops cover the main unit from the woods. There is always more than one battle against the enemy, and those who can use the magic of fire will be spared or gradually set on fire. However, do not touch women and the wounded."

"Oh, my goodness, you're so kind."

"If you try to kill a woman, your enemies may fight back in madness even though they're dying, because there are only wounded people who can be treated and somehow bear the burden of the enemy."

"Foreword withdrawn, Krono is like a demon."

As Chrono said, Rio had a cramped grin.

Keeping her down on the ground, Chrono dampened her lips with her tongue.

"... now!

"Copy that!

The voices of Deneb and Aridead echoed, and arrows flying in at high speeds pierced the heads of the soldiers on watch. Tilting his gaze slightly, the soldier on the lookout shot through with an arrow was about to fall slowly.

'Row...' said the Admiral!

"Come on, keep going with me! Wow!"

Chrono pulled out his sword and ran towards the enemy formation.

"Yes, Admiral, we're in too much of a hurry! '(Bubba ~!

"... Run"

"Run! '

"No, you're beyond comprehension."

Bubba! Shh! Goo-wow! Urrr! and his men's screams push Chrono's back with pressure.

You finally notice your voice, sleepy-eyed soldier coming out of the tent.

Tyga passed next to Chrono, who runs with all his might.

One after another, his men overtook him, and in no time, Chrono fell out of the lead group.

All we have to do is make sure the Rizado squad doesn't outrun us.

That's when Tiga waved down the sword when she bit the difference in exercise ability.

The sword, waved down by the power of the Subman, cut from the right shoulder of the enemy soldier to the dovetail,

"Flames! '(Ha!

A swollen flame tore the soldier's body in two.

"Enemy attack! Enemy...... GGA!

The head of an enemy soldier screaming desperately falls.

He was severed by a blow from Tiga.

But the act of risking the lives of enemy soldiers did not go to waste.

A strange enemy soldier came out of the tent.

There the beasts avalanched.

Enemy soldiers without armor were prey to outfits for the beasts.

When Chrono arrived, a corner of the enemy formation was buried with corpses.

"Admiral, I've cooled my liver."

"Sorry."

Chrono felt somewhat uncomfortable and put his sword in his sheath.

'As planned, light it!' (Buba ~)

"Homurai!

"Flame bouncing!

As ordered by the deputy officer, the two elves unleashed the magic of fire.

One is the magic of scattering flashy sounds and flames, the other is the magic of hitting countless flames against targets.

"I want the wind."

"Twirling!

When Chrono shrugged, the elf woman... the one who was talking to Deneb and Aridead... used sorcery.

A whirlwind stirs the flames, and the firepowder rises high in heaven.

"Thanks"

"... no"

As Chrono stroked her ear, she bowed shyly.

"Okay, let's break through the enemy line and hurry to the woods."

The Kronos came together and ran the enemy line.

Over time, enemy soldiers were regaining their judgment to the point of wearing armor, but that's about half of the total.

The remaining half stood up like a jerk or just ran away.

"Admiral, can't it be weird? '(Buyabu)

"Am I being invited?

The deputy is slaughtering only ten enemy soldiers while commanding a mixed unit.

The Tiga and Lizad squads have killed more than five hundred enemies, but there have been no reports of dead people coming out of their men.

I deliberately lure the Chronos in and turn them off.

Such an imagination plunders the back of the brain, but for what it's doing, the enemy's movements are gudagda.

"Let's try it"

What are you gonna do? '(Buyabu)

"The enemy is after the food! Protect the food!

"The enemy is after the food!

"Hurry up! Steady your guard!

When Krono hid behind his deputy and shouted, enemy soldiers shouted as he responded.

"Hi, you don't seem to have the means to communicate like us. Deneb, Aridead, the enemy is moving to protect the food, so shoot. And just in case he sounds like a messenger."

"You don't have to tell me. I'm shooting!

"Tsk, there's a lot of shields and it's hard to target!

The voices that were the killing of Deneb and Aridead echo.

"The enemy seems confused, but run carefully!

"Copy that."

"... Roger that."

Switching their purpose from killing their enemies to retreating, the Chronos went for the forest.

But there, the Beasts... the difference in athletic abilities by race and the fact that they brought soldiers from other battalions came to the back.

We were supposed to stick together, but at some point we were stretching longitudinally.

My former subordinates were carried away with full equipment and high proficiency, but the newly subordinated subordinates were different.

The first person to fall off was one Lizardman.

He was desperate with his chest pierced by countless spears that jumped out of his crossing.

Apparently, the enemy switched to a policy of attacking from the shadows and separating the main unit, rather than holding it straight from the front.

This tactic was plain but very effective.

One, also, one and a sub who has just become a subordinate fall.

Krono was driven by the urge to scratch his neck by the sweetness of his prospects as he ran past the sides of the bodies of his enemies and allies.

You can sacrifice less of your men if you attack at night.

As a result of that decision, I drove my men to death who didn't have to die.

"Deneb, Aridead! Coverage!"

'I've been desperate to do this since just now!

"There are too many enemies!

"Then what's the retreat situation!

"Tiga and Lizado are stepping on it! But!

"More and more enemies are coming, and I can't snipe them hidden in a shield!

Shit, I don't want to hear you cry! and Chrono threw up in his heart and remembered that Rio was there.

"Rio! Is Rio over there!

"... I'm Here" (SHU)

"Replace!"

"Hey, Chrono! This one's tough over here, but how about that one!

Ordering Rizado to yell, Rio replied in a pleasant manner.

"Rio goes through the enemy line, rendezvous with Deneb, the Aridead squad! Blow up where your enemies are lurking in the art of divinity!

'Okay, I get it! It's a little tight for me to get out... but please survive'

"Things that aren't even on the edge...... hi-ha!

As Chrono bridged the spear that jumped from the side, his deputy shook down Paul Axe and cracked the enemy soldier's head open.

"Admiral, don't be alarmed. Put it down! If the Night Assault succeeds and the Admiral dies, it will be the defeat of Arashira."

"I wasn't caught off guard from the start!

Chrono scolded the enemy's spear as he rolled unnecessarily down the ground, waving his sword bullshit as he raised his odd voice.

Due to swinging it down without even matching the dull blade, it was close to being slaughtered...... my head deformed and my eyeballs popped out, but Chrono kept running as I was about to leak my piss.

Shortly afterwards, Chrono realized the meaning of Rio's words.

The number of enemies jumping from side to side increased, and the number of fallen men increased.

That includes my men in Goldie's special armor.

Apparently, Rio was very active where Chrono hadn't seen it.

"Admiral!" (Bubba!

"I know! But I just have to believe Rio! Rio is... pretending to look like a bitch, but she's the best!

"Oh, it's a man! '(Buba ~!)

As Chrono and his deputy were calling in a half-panic state, a whistling noise sounded.

The green light pierced the tent a little further away, and the light burst.

As if it were a scene in a war movie, enemy soldiers rose heavenly high with large amounts of dirt and sand.

Enemy soldiers slammed to the ground with Gusha do not move perfectly.

He was bleeding out of his eyes, nose, and ears to death.

"Don't you have a bitch?

"Rio is the best! I love you!"

"No, it's good, though."

Rio's backup changed the war.

At any rate, Rio will blow the roots out of the enemy soldiers lurking in the shadows with divine authority.

"It's this way! '(Ugh!

Shouted at Chrono as Tyga cut down the enemy soldiers.

The forest is at the end of your eyes and nose.

If you run through as much as you want, you can escape to a safe place without taking ten seconds.

Admiral!

As Chrono turned to his deputy's scream, the elves were being held back from going to enemy soldiers.

It's an elf that Chrono stroked his ear.

She stared at Chrono and missed her gaze to give up.

It's as if you're convinced you can't risk your life for an elf.

"... Huh!

Chrono ran. Towards the elves, not the woods.

I think you're doing something stupid.

Still, Chrono didn't know how to reward his men for believing in him otherwise.

"Heavenly Heavenly Heaven Kagura!

A pitch-black sphere wipes out the heads of enemy soldiers.

But I can't feel safe.

We still have three enemies.

Chrono sticks a dagger up the back of an enemy soldier.

You didn't think you were coming to help, the two remaining eyes opened to surprise.

Krono was torn down his spine to thrust an enemy soldier dripping down his piss and stool at both of them.

Krono pierces the neck of the enemy soldier with a long sword in the gap where the two reflexively held their comrades.

"Flame bouncing!

A mass of flames surrounded the surviving enemy soldiers. Enemy soldiers, who burned up like pine lights, rolled around the ground and stopped moving after a while.

Chrono reached for the elf as he stabbed a stop with his sword against the neck of the smoking enemy.

Thanks to you.

The moment he tried to throw up such a dialogue, Chrono was being dragged down to the ground with intense force.

The lieutenant lay down on the ground to shelter Chrono.

And Chrono saw the sight of the flames swallowing the elves.

Even the scream burned down, and she fell to turn herself around.

"Mr. Minot, get off me! Not yet, not yet, I can help!

"I can't make it! She's dead, she's dead! '(Bullshit!

Oh, and I lost my power out of my hand.

How could you?

Why am I so weak?

Isn't being summoned from another world a person with special powers?

Why can't I use my sword, my magic, properly?

How can you not even protect one girl?

"I didn't expect to see you here again."

A man appeared from the shadow of the tent.

About thirty years old.

I don't recognize him on the face, but his right sleeve, swinging in the hot air, eloquently tells the story of who he is.

He was the man who led the Holy Argo Royal Army last May.

"Admiral, I'll buy you some time."

"No, you can't pull here as a nobleman"

Pushing back the surprise deputy, Krono confronted the man in the ship's arms.

"I don't think that's what the man who set up the night raid said. My name is Ignis, Ignis Fomalhout."

"I'm Chrono... well, that's enough."

"Must be."

Ignis laughed delightfully and pulled out his sword.

"God, bless my sword!

Ignis' sword is wrapped in a deep red light.

"Blessed Blade"... is a divine art that wraps the power of the faithful God around the blade.

The blade protected by "God Who Turns Crimson and Conducts Destruction" melts and cuts sheet metal armor (plate mail) easily.

"You're not gonna pull it out? Or are you going to fight in that bottle?

"In my hometown habits."

Chrono unplugged the plug and threw the bottle at Ignis staring at this one with interest.

"Child deceit."

Ignis drew a gentle parabola and slapped the flying bottle through the air.

The change happened quickly.

The liquid poured down on Ignis burned up.

"Gu, ah... Ku, my eyes, what, what did you do!

Chrono picked up the dagger, held his face down and planted a body hit on the agonizing Ignis.

"Damn!"

Poking a dagger deep on his flank, Ignis' face distorted in agony.

If you're a co-opponent, you're losing your temper here.

But Ignis was not his opponent.

He grabbed Chrono's neck and lifted it with one left arm.

"Come on, you coward! What happened to the pride of the nobility!

"That stuff, I fed it to my dog!

"... Huh!

Twisting a dagger that stood on his flank loosened Ignis' power.

In that gap Krono escaped Ignis and screamed as he rolled down the ground.

"Mr. Minot!

Set up Paul Axe, the deputy screams and runs toward Ignis.

"God!

"Wind! '(Bubba!

The red barrier unfolds to protect Ignis, but the deputy swings Paul Axe full.

The equilibrium is for a moment.

Paul Axe broke down the red barrier and blew Ignis like a doll.

A blade of wind released to hang the chase rips Ignis' body to pieces.

Beaten to the ground, Ignis doesn't move.

"Mr. Minot, I'm gonna run away."

"Admiral, what was that earlier?

The deputy asked Chrono as he ran.

"Is that it?"

It was in a bottle.

"That's just alcohol. I made it out of extra beer and wine."

alcohol? and the deputy leaned his neck wonderfully.

"How many people were killed?

"... Ten" (Shoo)

"It's Twenty."

"Just an elf."

As soon as Krono jumped into the woods, he confirmed the damage to his own army.

If we keep Rio waiting in the woods from the start, if we meet carefully, if we think properly about forming a squad, if we have a little more strength, then all the regret comes up for the sweetness and powerlessness of our outlook.

What are you gonna do, Admiral? '(Bubba?

"... I know there are some retreats, but there's one more thing you'd like to try"

That's what I said, Chrono laughed.

The awakening was abrupt. When Ignis jumped out of bed, he was silently extinguished by the severe pain that plagued his entire body.

"What is this place?

"It's a field hospital. Last night's raiders set the food on fire, but they didn't touch the doctors or the wounded."

"Night assault, the enemy, what happened!

Ignis swung off the doctor's stop and jumped outside, losing his word.

Because the tent was burned by more than a third, and the vicinity of the field hospital was overflowing with wounded.

"Yes, General Ignis!

"You!

The man was an ancient soldier. He was a warring warrior who attacked the Kepheus Empire with Ignis last year and returned from the front lines.

That he knelt before Ignis, crying like a child.

"... Yes, General Ignis, we are... what am I being fought against?

"You can't just cry."

When Ignis asked for an explanation, he started talking about what happened last night, sipping his snot.

Last night, it seems, the Subhumans fled into the woods since then.

Nothing happened for a while.

Everyone thought they couldn't have attacked me more than once.

And the nightmare abruptly opened the curtain.

First, a soldier on watch was shot through his leg.

The man tried to help his fellow shooters, but he couldn't.

They shot him in the leg.

The man crawled unnecessarily on the ground and escaped to the shadow of the tent, becoming the feather of witnessing everything.

The soldier, who was no longer able to move, was shot through with an arrow over and over again.

Remove the steeple as if it were a scratch.

Those who rushed over were pierced, without exception, killed or made their next target.

Eventually, no one could move.

I didn't want to abandon you.

But the enemy's arrows pierce the shield.

"... you abandoned your people"

"I had no choice! In the woods, some of them tried to defeat the enemies they were lurking in."

The man pointed his trembling finger at the body.

Ignis grabbed the cloth covered in the body and breathed.

The body was damaged as if it had been scattered by a beast.

There was no gut.

His eyes were stuffed in his mouth and his chest plate was engraved with blasphemous sentences.

It's crazy.

Perhaps the man... the man with the eyes must have ordered it.

What the fuck?

What is that guy?

To the Kingdom of Holy Argo, is it also a personal grudge against a soldier?

I don't know.

No, you can't possibly understand that stuff.

It can't be good to understand.

If I understood such a thing, it would be over.

Ignis had no choice but to stand still.

Count Pisce...... Betil Pisce was born in the family of knights.

There is no territory, and it is only the lineage of the handle that has served the Empire since ancient times.

When he was younger, Betil dawned on his training to set the house up with the power of his sword.

They believed that they would be rewarded if they built up their efforts.

I've believed in that for ten years, so all I can say is I was young.

Becoming a Kingsguard knight, Betil didn't hate to flatter her superiors.

If there was a faction, it belonged to a faction and there was no resistance to switching to another faction either.

Everything is to enhance your position a little bit.

There's no reason for Betil to be like this now.

I've never been betrayed by my best friend or lover, or abandoned by my superior officer.

I think myself that I have a smooth and full sailing life because I make such a happy living with my wife from the family line there.

If I were to insist on giving a reason, I guess it means I'm old enough to understand reality.

I think now that I think about it, the way I did it against Faye Mullifine was too much.

I guess so when I say that it was hard to overlap with my old self to believe that if I stacked up my efforts, I would be rewarded... well, now it is.

"... did the Marquis Elakis do well?

In the end, Betil did not rearrange the troops.

Correctly, Alfort couldn't reposition Leonhardt because he wanted to keep him close.

I don't even know how that feels, but I want you to think about yourself, who has to fight that cavalry.

The number of enemy soldiers seems to be down compared to yesterday, but since the Marquis Elakis is not back, we do not know if the night raid was successful.

"Yeah! Stop shooting! Go on with me!

Half abandoned and run the horse, two hundred riders too many cavalry follow.

Quite late, the other cavalry moved.

Betil was about to cry.

You can't even expect a riding assault (lance-charge) to prove its true value by storming in a group.

Still, if you stop the horse, they'll shoot you.

Betil had no choice but to run her horse desperately.

Running up the slope, Betil noticed something.

Enemy soldiers are not looking at Betil.

A slight glimpse of sight stood a different group at the end of the enemy's gaze.

Quite frankly, it's a grass bucket.

The grass bucket... When one of them ran out with his sword up, the other bucket also ran out with a whisper.

It is a sight that I can only think of as crazy anymore.

But...

"Ah, the Subhumans!

"Fuck, oh, you demons! You don't kill all that, you don't!

"Gi, gi!

Arrows pierce enemy soldiers like the rain of a beating.

I see, Betil was convinced.

It was the grass bucket thing that was in the center that pushed me in... I guess that's the Marquis Elakis... just the archers are in quite a distant position.

I guess we're putting it in such a position to avoid bickering each other.

Nevertheless, it was an incredible bow of power.

They are powerful enough to release an arrow horizontally and penetrate the armor.

"To, run!

"No, no, no!

"You idiot, what have we done!

When one let go of his weapon, it was a total collapse later.

"We're going in! But don't kill the grass bucket! Those are allies!

Betil safely penetrated the fleeing enemy soldiers.

Unilateral killings, which can't even be called battles, ended, and Betil reported the results to Alfort.

"Su, wow, wow! Count Pisce!"

"Thank you Happiness"

Betil knelt down to Alfort, desperate and faceless.

It's where I laugh if not in front of Alfort because I've made the decision to attack at night and I've had a lot of battles and my men are looking me in the eye of respect.

"Ah, when I get back to Alfilk, reward... I'll try to speak to Chancellor Alcor so I can have the territory"

"Ho, is that true!

Wait, Betil immediately rethought.

Even if Alfort says he will give us the territory, he is now nothing but a common son of Ramal V.

He could be an emperor, but there's no way his opponent, Chancellor Alcor, could easily make Alfort an emperor.

Of course, he will do everything possible to do more than Alfort has said he will give the territory, but if he does poorly, he can push the undeveloped land like a new nobleman.

In the first place, even when given territory, Bethel does not have any subordinates or servants to help her develop.

You may make huge amounts of money, but you may find it unimaginably difficult.

I'm not dissatisfied with my life right now, and I don't feel like hitting a beating like that because I even have to pay for the treatment and reward of the subordinates who took part in the night raid.

After desperately wondering if there were any dropouts where no one would lose money, Betil came up with a great idea.

"I'm afraid, Master Alford. I can't give you the details, but only with the dedication of the Marquis of Elakis will this battle take place… so please give the territory to the Marquis of Elakis"

"Wow, okay."

Betil chuckled inside. Because now you will have fulfilled one of the promises you made as Marquis Elakis, and Alford's heart certificate is better.

In anticipation of the enemy retreating, Krono took some of his men to visit what was an enemy position.

The purpose is to bury the bodies of dead men.

Most of all, I can't dig a grave for everyone by myself, so all I could do for Chrono was close my eyelids and put my hands together.

Chrono stood in front of the tomb for thirty-one.

My head doesn't work at all because of my lack of sleep.

Admiral, are you all right? '(Bubba Bubba?

"... I'm fine. More than that, what about everyone?

"Hey, I'll give you a break from marching tomorrow. Well, you look a little scared of the Admiral. '

"Well, you're right."

Chrono sighed.

Last night, Krono ordered archers to snipe the enemy.

It's a common tactic in movies.

It wasn't just that, it even had a mane to blaspheme the dead.

"... maybe I'm crazy."

Chrono didn't think he was sane.

The moment I kill a person, I hesitate.

But killing people doesn't make me feel guilty.

Only lead-like fatigue lingers.

Will I become guilty if I keep killing people like this?

Will a sudden awareness of sin sprout one day?

"... Admiral? '(Bubble)

"It's okay. Whether I'm cursed as a coward or scared of everyone, it's okay. Any cruel mane can do fine. So if you don't have to let one of your men die,"

It's okay, Krono kept whining.
