Kuro no Senki (LN)
Episode 17: The Showdown, Part 5
"Huh..."
"You're in an ops meeting right now."
When Roy made a big stretch, Archena glanced at him and said.
The director of the Bowties Treasury also looks uncomfortable.
"No evil. I didn't sleep last night."
"Still, a commander should discipline himself to be an example to everyone."
"Heck."
"One reply."
"Hee hee."
"Don't say it in a sloppy tone. And not" hey, "but" yes. "
"I know, I know."
Chip, Archena struck her tongue.
I'd hate to tell you to discipline yourself, too, but I'm getting over it.
"Today -"
That's what I'm talking about.
Archena stares at this one with a kick.
"... what?
"You have ears to listen to."
"Can you talk if you don't hate me?"
"That's not what this is about."
Roy glanced lightly at his shoulder.
Just say it.
"I'm fortifying the position, can you give me a hand?
Rejected.
"Whoa, whoa, wait."
"I thought you said no.
"At least listen to me"
Roy groaned in a fed up mood.
"No such order has been given"
"You have a judgment of the crime scene, a judgment of the crime scene. Mostly, it's because our position is easy to attack after a night raid."
The rebels are just protecting their positions with a number of obstacles or even using the surrounding forests.
All I'm saying is that this one's keeping supplies decentralized.
If you're not attacking me with this, the opponent is quite popular.
You'd better quit the army and farm the fields in the country.
Unfortunately, the rebels - Chrono is not your favorite.
I may not be good at fighting, but if I'm gonna do it, I'm the type to do it thoroughly.
"... what are you going to do?
Archena has asked with a musty look.
"Are you finally willing to ask?
"If you have a plan, tell me. Ask if you want to do it, then think."
Roy sighed deeply.
I feel like I'm dictating to a woman.
That's also a troublesome bitch who stopped tall.
No, I don't care if you stop tall, it stinks, but a woman is fine.
Speaking of women has similar pleasures to combat training.
But it's not fun to dictate Archena.
It's just so you can do what you're supposed to do, even if you say it at the end of the day.
Return negative to zero.
There's no way you can enjoy it even though you don't have anything to gain.
That said, it's hard not to throw it out because it's not fun.
Somehow, my men's lives are at stake.
Especially Richard.
I have to get that man back to his hometown who said he was getting married.
"What's up? Say it quickly."
"Yes. My suggestion isn't a big deal. Surround the position with moats. That's all."
Roy rubbed his squishy eyes when he finally cut it out.
This is what causes sleep deprivation.
After getting rid of the rebels, we discussed what was to come with Richard.
"Are you telling me to imitate the rebels?
"You're not."
Roy denied Archena's words in a fed up mood.
"Rebel's is not a moat."
"How useful is the moat?
"I don't know what's going on. It's better."
……
Did you offend her, Archena shut up.
"On what grounds?
"The commander we met last night is discreet."
High fighting ability and thought-provoking.
How much combat experience do you have, or - highly educated?
Either way, it must be a nasty enemy.
That's why you shouldn't approach the moat without warning.
……
Archena silenced again.
"... I know what you're trying to say, but it's hard to do"
"Why?
"No tools"
"I'll take care of that over here"
Roy sighed small.
I guess it's from the mercenaries' desire not to let them rebel by letting them build positions.
But then you can take the tools away when the work is done.
That's all we're talking about.
Nonetheless, that's not all they do for me.
One of the sighs also exits.
That said, it is a reaction within the assumption when it comes to being within the assumption.
"I want manpower instead"
"How many?
"Ten thousand general soldiers."
"I can't."
Archena said without making room.
"Okay. Five thousand. Five thousand is good."
"... five thousand?"
Archena told him to roar and showed him a mind-blowing bare gesture.
Ten or eighty-nine, it should break.
That's why I first said 10,000.
But you should keep in mind.
"Come on, give me a break. This is the only concession you can make, and you're still thinking about it."
"Okay! Five grand is good, huh?
Archena rode lightly on Roy's provocation.
I'd like to tell you to think about it a little bit more, but you got me on this one.
Complaining would be something of a muscle difference.
"Oh, five grand is good"
"Okay. I'll keep you five grand, soldier."
"Thank you."
This would be exactly what it feels like to have a shoulder load down.
I thought I could get to work right away. That's when I heard the soldiers coming from the outside.
A while later Richard came in with a strange soldier.
Stranger soldiers dress in thin dirty clothes.
"Excuse me!
"What? We're in an ops meeting right now."
"Ha! The missing soldier has been down since last night, so I brought him in."
Archena said uncomfortably, but Richard did not even show a bare gesture that offended him - although he had no choice given his position within the military.
"Didn't you run away and come back?
"Soon-"
Richard took control of the soldier he tried to elucidate with his hands.
"I don't have that"
"Why?
"He had his hands and feet tied and he was blindfolded and monkeys"
"... I see"
If it was Alfort, I might say something unusual about tying myself up, but Arhena nodded honestly, saying she didn't think so.
A natural response, if you will.
If this makes me say the things that tied me up myself, I'll have to stop being friends.
Even so, we think the geology is good.
"So I guess the man is definitely a soldier who was missing?
"Definitely"
"Right."
Archena nodded and stared at the soldier.
"... being caught means being taken prisoner, but you're not leaking any more information, are you?
"Yes, of course. I won't tell you if I'm tortured."
The soldier answered instantly.
Probably a lie.
General soldiers are better than self-proclaimed and mercenaries, but it's hard to say that they still have a high work ethic.
"Why did you let me go?
"Because the Empress Tilia ordered the rebel commander to release her."
"The Empress Tilia?
Archena opened her eyes to surprise.
"I don't like the blood of my subjects in anything..."
"I see, do you not abandon your pride as a royal family, even though you have succeeded in being the leader of the rebels? This must be defeated with respect."
"No, don't convince me."
"What?
"I'm not convinced you're listening to me."
"But there must be no one but Empress Tilia who can order the Marquis of Elakis."
"In the first place, the general soldier... you don't think civilians know the face of Her Royal Highness."
Roy turned his gaze to the man.
"How did you know she was Empress Tilia?
"That's... because the rebel commanders obeyed, and my grandfathers said the Empress Tilia, and it smelled good"
The man leaned down to you.
"You see."
"What?
"You're a dull guy. Maybe he's a Shadow Warrior."
"... Indeed"
Archena nodded, wondering if it would be intense.
"No, but you must have seen the face of Empress Tilia."
"Did you see that?
"Yes, no, I was wearing a white robe and I couldn't see my face"
When Richard inquired, the man shook his head to the side.
"White robe?
He said he was in mourning.
The man answered Roy's query.
"What do you think?
"If you're going to ask questions, ask them exactly."
"It depends on what you mean by the royal family or the followers of 'God who keeps order in pure white'."
"Why are you asking me?
"I'm not familiar with that."
I wasn't interested in the episodes wrapped up in historical emperors, nor am I a believer, so I don't know if I have a habit of serving mourning.
"... I've never heard of it either, but it doesn't seem unnatural given the circumstances"
"Well, yeah."
It may be an appeal to Alfort and the aristocracy to which it belongs that there is no hostility to the others, but it does not seem so unnatural in itself to mourn the death of his subjects as an imperial family.
In the end, the Empress Tilia remains blind to wearing a white robe.
"Is there anything else?
"Ah! I have deposited a letter with the Secretary of the Bowties Treasury"
"To me?
Bowties Treasurer frowns in surprise.
Nor does this seem unnatural.
A man takes a letter out of his nostalgia and gives it to the Bowties Treasurer.
Bowties Treasurer reached out and Roy stuck a spear cut to his neck.
"Do what?
"I don't know what, it could be an enemy ploy, but you can give it to me."
"Wait!"
Archena screamed sharply as Roy tried to take the letter.
I can anticipate developments after this, but I will follow them.
"What is it?
"You know Marquis Elakis?
"You mean you're suspicious of me?
"Yes."
"I don't want a friend. That's him."
That said, I also know how Archena feels.
"Then you can read."
"Okay."
Archena received a letter from the man, spreading it carefully.
"Oh, my God, did it say that?
"Can't read."
"What?
"I said I could read it. It looks like a letter, but it also looks like a picture. Maybe it's a cipher."
Archena turned her gaze to Bowties Treasury Director.
"Are you suspicious of me?
"That's not why, but you know what?
"I am! They killed my beloved wife and son! Why should I go through the rebels?
Bowties Treasurer shouted hysterically.
You seem to be telling the truth, but you can't deny the possibility of acting either.
None of them has seen a scene in which the wife of the Bowties Treasurer is killed.
"If that's what you're saying..."
"I'm sorry I doubted you"
Blocking the words of the Bowties treasury director, Archena bowed her head.
It won't be calculated.
For better or worse, Archena is the type who doesn't do calculations.
I have a head to calculate, and I can calculate.
But I won't.
That's how you discipline yourself.
Unfortunately, it can't be a virtue or an advantage.
"Wow, I hope you understand. So, what do we do with the letters?
"Here's what I'll do."
Archena tore the letter in two and broke it even finer.
"Hey, what are you doing!
"As you can see. I don't know what Princess Tilia's intentions are, but I'm sure she will."
Archena also has a point.
It's no use thinking about it because there's no way to verify what thoughts you have.
Then you should concentrate on what's happening in front of you.
But if they're trying to distrust Roy and the others, it's a success.
At least Archena suspects the Bowties Treasurer.
Bowties, you know the Treasurer is suspected, too.
"It's about the Empress Tilia..."
"I think I'm a shadow fighter"
"I think I'm real"
Roy looked at the Bowties Treasurer on the side.
My opinion broke in two.
When I saw Richard, he looked like he said something.
"Hey, do you have any opinions?
"What are you asking the General Soldier"
"I'm a listener to a lot of people. What do you say?
"Ha, I'm afraid..."
"Okay. Allow to speak"
Archena said as she was fed up.
"I'm afraid it won't be a problem if Empress Tilia is real or fake"
"What do you mean?"
"I'll ask the questions"
I blocked Roy's words like Archena was pissed off.
"What do you mean?
"Ha, shouldn't I insist that even if it's fake, she's the Empress of Tilia"
"So you're saying that even when the real thing shows up, you're going to cut it off as fake and reduce the rebel's appetite?
"… is right"
Richard unexpectedly opened his eyes and affirmed Archena's words.
I must have thought you were stupid about Archena.
"It's beyond the realm of a soldier."
"Ha, I'm sorry"
"But let's keep it in mind"
"Ha, thank you"
"Good. Now get back to work"
"Ha! I'm going back to work."
When Richard returned his heel, the man who was turning into a figurine also continued later.
At that time, Roy's ears caught a slight sound.
"... wait"
"Ha!
"Not you."
Roy stuck the tip of the spear at the man.
"Hey, what are you doing?
"Get out what's in your pocket."
"There's nothing there!
"Let it out because it's good!
When Roy yelled, the man got his hands in his pocket like he was reluctant.
"- Huh!"
Immediately after breathtaking, Mimizu's face turns blue.
"Get your hands out of your pockets. Let me out or I'll die."
"Oh, I see."
Something fell to the ground as the man pulled his hand out of his pocket.
It was gold.
"What is this?
"And I don't!
When Bowties Treasurer picked up the gold coins and said, the man shook his head violently.
"The rebels put it in my pocket! I really don't know!
"You think I believe that bullshit?
"I really don't know! Believe me!
The man poked his knees and put his hands together to pray.
"... keep that man locked up"
"Ha!
Richard stretched his spine as Archena ordered him to sigh.
"Come on, come on!
"Believe me! I didn't do anything!
"Come because it's good!
Richard grabbed the man's root and tried to get out of the tent.
"Hey!"
"Ha!
When Roy called, Richard stopped.
"If you lock him up, lead the General Five Thousand and dig the moat."
"Ha! Yes, sir!
Richard saluted Roy and now it's time to leave the tent.
"Bowties Treasurer, please prepare for the attack"
"Okay."
Bowties Treasurer nodded to Eagle Fling and left the tent.
"Is that good?
"If it means you don't have to punish a soldier, I can only say you have no choice."
Hmm, and Roy hammered.
I had doubts about my relationship with Chrono, but I guess I didn't mean it.
"I think he's talking inside out here, huh?
"There's no proof"
Jeez, Roy clapped his shoulder.
I'm not a soldier, and I don't think it's a good idea to serve in the paperwork office.
It is unfortunate for everyone that their hopes and aptitudes do not match.
"The man in that hand insists that he's not bad until he dies."
"Well, stay out of morale"
"That's what I'm talking about"
Archena said in a fed up tone.
"... do you believe about the Bowties Treasurer?
"There's no proof"
"Again."
"That said, there's no reason to believe innocently."
"What are we gonna do?
"It's no different than yesterday. I'll have the mercenaries in command."
"... you mean that"
I guess Archena is going to use and crush the mercenaries early.
Oh, boy, Roy sighed.
"Come on, gentlemen! Today is the day to disable the obstacle! Disable the obstacle and I'll pay you as promised!
Know what Archena thinks or not. Bowties Treasurer speaks up on horseback.
Maybe, you don't know, Roy scratches my head with me and looks up at the sky.
The position of the sun is still high, but it would be your word if it could only be attacked the same number of times as yesterday.
It took too long to form a formation.
"What do we do?
I don't know what to do. I don't have a choice.
Shit, you should've run away.
The mercenaries go forward blurry.
Mercenaries have low morale because the day has passed.
"Hey, shut up"
"Oh, my God, you're not even cuter now."
"They're gonna kill you."
"... chip"
I hear similar conversations everywhere.
"Six hundred! Six hundred men out!
When the director of the Bowties Treasury screamed, Archena's men moved and stabbed the spear to the ground.
"Whoever is ahead of the spear, proceed!
"Shit!"
"Why am I standing here?"
"You wanted to hang out for dinner before you died."
Most mercenaries obeyed orders while complaining...
"Yes, I don't like it! I don't want to die!
One mercenary called and fled.
"Holy shit! Don't run away!
"Yes, they do! What are you gonna do if you get us involved?
I thought you'd overlook it, and the mercenaries capture you.
"Give me a break! I have a mother!
"You know, that's not true!
"If you're a man, die clean!
"Damn it! Why do you have to die because you're a man! Mother!"
The sobbing mercenaries were drawn to the front row by their companions.
"... is this hell"
"By now, you've noticed."
"Come on, move on! Brave men!
The mercenaries began to walk reluctantly when the Bowties Treasurer shouted.
Suddenly I don't run out because I know the rebel attack pattern.
First, the rebels pass the obstacle in front of them before launching an attack.
Next, use Magic Items near the target obstacle.
You can keep your health warm until the obstacle in front of you.
It is also possible that the rebels have not shown their hands.
Roy stared at the obstacle to his goal and tilted his inner neck.
Horizontal luggage cars are left unattended, corpses rolled and barrel lids and blankets scattered.
As far as I can tell, it was in the same condition as it was yesterday until the blanket hung on the obstacle.
It's odd that if you're a luggage truck or a corpse, you still don't get rid of barrel lids and blankets.
Now it was as if -, then a crying voice sounded.
"I don't like it! I don't want to die. No, no, no!
"Conceive!
"Damn, why do I have to take care of him like this?"
The mercenary in question cried, but is drawn to the two mercenaries.
Finally we get near the obstacle...
"Go home. Go home. Go home!
The guy called the idiotic power of the fire, or the mercenary shook off his people and ran away.
"Run - Huh!
The mercenary reached out to catch him again and stopped moving as he did.
Touch your back and look at your hands.
Then, my hands were painted with blood.
An arrow stabbed him in the back.
Mercenaries fall at the forefront...
"Uh-oh!
"And stop and stop. Ahhh!
The mercenaries ran out roaring and the mercenaries who were trying to escape were swallowed up.
"There's an attack coming. Whoa!
"Shield! Pick up the shield!
"That's mine!
"Give it to me!"
Fighting began over the barrel lid.
"Damn it! Run, run!"
"Shit, shit, shit!
The mercenaries split into two groups.
One is a group that snatches the lid off the barrel, the other is a group that runs with a blanket.
"Yikes!"
"Grr!
Short screams go up in a row.
An arrow poured down on the group that was snatching the lid from the barrel.
"All right! That's good!
"They're not after us!
"Run inside now, run!
The group that was running with the blanket gained momentum.
You'll get to your goal in a little while.
That's when the explosion happened.
The mercenaries rise high in heaven, or are blown away, and fall to the ground.
It was an attack by a magic item.
"Damn, it's a blanket!
"Anyway, disable the obstacle!
A second explosion occurred the moment after the mercenaries hung a blanket on the obstacle.
"Take it off a little. And then, please."
"Ha, leave it to me"
Roy left it to his deputy and headed under Richard, who was overseeing the work.
At the outer edge of the main unit, the general soldiers were digging the ground.
Although the work did not seem to be progressing because of the use of lumber with diagonal cutting of the tip.
"Whoa, what do you say?
"Ha!
As Roy spoke, Richard stretched his spine.
"Easy."
"Yes, I understand."
Richard exhaled in a ho and broke his posture.
How much more posture is right than Roy when he says it's broken.
"So, what do you say?
"As you can see."
Richard turned his gaze to the soldiers.
Is the moat about a meter wide, about an ankle deep, and about two hundred meters long?
I realize there are too few soldiers working there.
"Half the soldiers are resting."
"You mean you keep working on it?"
"Exactly. If there's a problem..."
"Hey."
Roy blocked Richard's words.
"If you think you're the best, that's the best. Besides, you have the intention of holding the rebels back by letting them work on it, don't you?
"Ha, thank you"
Richard stretched his spine and saluted Roy.
It's a beautiful salute to just leave military school.
Roy is out of military school too, but he can't have a prettier salute than this.
It was ridiculous and out of hand.
All I took seriously was practical skill.
Still, I was able to get a dot there in the classroom.
"You should have studied more seriously."
"I think Master Roy is capable enough..."
"Good rhetoric"
"No, not flattery"
My back's ticklish.
Roy scratched my head with me.
Think contextually. Richard's ability to say enough seems to be to throw a job round at his men without saying anything extra, but I don't feel bad about being praised by the deadbeat guy.
"How's the war going?
"It's the same as yesterday."
"Really?"
Richard said as if he had been discouraged somewhere.
I could have ignored it, but I wondered why.
"You got something?
"Yes, I'm worried about the food..."
"Food?"
Roy groaned in arms.
"I don't think the Imperial City is a problem because it's at the end of my eyes and nose..."
"I think so too"
But Richard goes on.
"The mercenaries' share was estimated to be gathered at this rate."
"Sure... but the mercenary wear rate is pretty good."
"Yes, I know that..."
Richard caged his mouth.
It's a situation where mercenaries are dying of bulk, but I'm guessing you're thinking it might be quicker to consume food.
If anything happens in such a situation, the Imperial Army will be feathers fighting not only the rebels, but even hunger.
That's what I'm worried about.
"Okay. I'll see how the food is reduced."
"Regards"
"No, I don't mind."
That's what I said, Roy looked up at the sky.
I had a bad feeling.
Night - Aridead looked at enemy positions from behind the trees.
Around enemy positions, bonfires have been set ablaze and large numbers of soldiers are digging back into the ground.
I also thought you were digging a trench, but I immediately reconsider.
The enemy's main force is the infantry, but he doesn't have a crossbow.
I mean, it's the moat the enemy soldiers are digging.
"This is Aridead, the enemy soldiers are burning bonfires, like they're digging the ground. Probably like they're digging a moat."
"I'm digging the ground with a stick of wood, so it's very inefficient."
Deneb supplemented as Aridead squirmed toward a communications magic item.
"Do you think I can harass you?
"I don't think there's anything I can't do, but I'm a little worried about yesterday."
Chrono's voice echoes from a communication magic item, and Aridead conveys his thoughts.
"You don't have to."
"May I? '' (Guru?
"There will be fewer enemies."
Chrono said in a troubled tone to Tyga's question.
You seem to see me laughing bitterly.
"Well, it's like I might have killed a little too much today"
"Oh, don't draw me to a tone that sounds like I've put too much salt in it"
As Aridead shrugged, Deneb shook in with a trembling voice.
I know what you're trying to say, but three thousand people are killing yesterday.
This one has zero damage.
Not a bad thing, but I'm going to be insensitive to the value of my life because it's too easy to kill.
"It's like insensitivity isn't good"
"Oh, sister"
"I'm not."
Aridead slapped Deneb in the chest with the back of his hand.
"Soldiers are like a profession that drains both body and mind. When this battle is over..."
"Sister!
"I can't! '(ugh!
Penetrated by Deneb and Tyga, Aridead covered his mouth with both hands.
"Danger. Danger. It was like he was about to put a death flag on it."
"It's like I want you to be careful"
"It is." (Grunts)
Phew, and Aridead wiped his sweat with the back of his hand and let his gaze circle.
That doesn't make me see anything, but it helps to change my mind.
"Huh, it was dangerous."
Again, I exhaled and looked up at the sky.
