gossip, kings and cans

"This is a sneaky..."

One man unexpectedly groaned at the results of the experiment placed in front of him (...).

Well, the story goes back a few days.

He is the king of the country that summoned the brave, but I received a status report from the knights who accompanied the brave the other day. And its content was astonishing.

That the Demon King has been found.

That the Demon King unexpectedly wants peaceful negotiations, not belligerent beings.

And having entrusted the knights with a "souvenir".

That souvenir was some kind of food.

But it's not wacky that it's extraordinarily expensive or uses unusual ingredients.

It is a dish that is likely to be available in any town, with no weirdness whatsoever, just seasoned and boiled with meat, fish or vegetables in small quantities of seasoning.

But it's different to say that those cooked more than ten days ago would have never rotted in any way or deteriorated in taste.

Yes, those foods were processed foods for long-term storage, called "bottles" or "cans".

Those foods would have recognized only to the extent of "convenience" if anyone had no eyes to see them, but fortunately the kings and heavy ministers of this country who received the report were not foolish.

The preservation of food continued to exist as a constantly important challenge in human history as well.

If we preserve surpluses during abundance, we will reduce the number of starving deaths during famine, and the speed and size of the army's march is planned to a large extent, taking into account the shelf life and the speed of transport of military food.

Various methods have been created by the creative ingenuity of our ancestors, such as drying them, marinating them in salt and spices, fermenting them, and freezing them using snow. The processing of foodstuffs by these methods is also widespread in the general countries of this world.

But the heavy towns of the country decided that this "canned" or "bottled" product was isolated from them.

More salt and spices to marinate the traditional way of preserving can extend the shelf life somewhat, but deterioration of the flavour can also be problematic on top of the cumbersome costs.

But this "can" or "bottle" means that the taste deterioration is not comparable to them, and that it can be stored for at least a few months, or even years, if it is a long one.

It's so silly that if some country had a monopoly on this technology, it could rewrite the force maps between nations.

Moreover, surprisingly, the Demon King has detailed the preparation on paper along with the "canned" and "bottled" samples, which are such a menacing wisdom, that they have come by at all costs.

What's amazing is that instead of "respond to negotiations if you want to know how to make them," I've taught you to pay up front and not cover it up without any consideration. Nor was any part of the manufacturing method kept secret, nor was the prototype that I ordered artisans to try to make brilliantly successful.

But then it's Humanity who wonders what purpose the Demon King has conveyed valuable knowledge to us.

The heavy towns of the country decided that the existence of the Demon King was a favorite who didn't think anything of it, and that he taught it merely in good faith, and that this should be seen as an act of demonstration that demonstrates the high level of culture on the side of the demon world, "without pain or itching to do it for free of charge, such as this degree of knowledge."

... I never dreamed I was just really thinking about anything, and that's how I read it in depth for nothing.

Even with a few misunderstandings, the Kings realized that the Demon King was the one they could never underestimate, and their preparations for negotiations with the Demon World were set in motion.

"Nevertheless, this is delicious..."

The king took one of the cans he made to make as an experiment, "Saba's Boiled Water Can," and whined.

I tried other cans and bottles of meat and fruit, but this was my favorite thing about the king.

I really liked the simple but deep flavors that the ingredients didn't seem to be just rust and salt, and it would be the king's new routine to dine in a can of rust in the future.
