Labyrinth Restaurant

Labyrinth City People ②

One day at noon, Cosmos was walking down the boulevard of a labyrinth city with a large cardboard box. Shining hair and human detachment and neat appearance, as if at the hands of skilled craftsmen, gather the gaze of those around them, but Cosmos moves on to My Pace without adhering to the gaze around him.

"You've been busy around here a lot."

The boulevard is likely to be swamped by a large crowd and flushed by a wave of people when distracted.

"Right here."

Cosmos stopped in front of the Adventurers Guild Labyrinth City Branch, a splendid stone facility among the brand new buildings lining the boulevard, and went inside. It also has a training area and other facilities, a building with a pretty spacious impression.

The Guild's building has an unexpectedly neat impression, with lots of staff moving tediously. Veteran staff are being sent from all over the Labyrinth City Branch, which has just been done.

"You're like this inside"

Before the unfamiliar sight, Cosmos murmured with a voice that seemed impressed. Orders and orders for requests are placed at the desk.

Labyrinth cities boiling in the good economy are populated by people from various professions from all over the world, but merchants are particularly common.

It is only by transporting rare items purchased in labyrinth cities to remote locations that we can make a steady and significant profit. From rushing pedestrians to large chambers of commerce with large numbers of employees, all profitable people now spare no time running down the streets while sleeping.

Nevertheless, of course, the journey is not about making money if danger comes with it, if demons and bandits attack it. That is not the case with large merchants who can hire dedicated escorts at all times.

So the merchants ask the Adventurers Guild to escort them. Although it costs a little money, it can be fully exonerated if you split it it as a necessary expense to avoid risk, and you won't be charged for extrajudicial rewards later if you make a request through the guild properly.

"I see, that's something you're doing well"

"Hey, isn't that Miss Cosmos?"

A big man has spoken to Cosmos, who was observing what was going on inside near the entrance to the building. He is a regular at the Demon King's Restaurant and an adventurer named Gardo who loves sweets so much.

"This is an odd place for you, Gardo."

"Whoa, lady, what can I do for your guild?

"Yes, I have business with this guild leader."

"Then I'll show you around. This way, follow me."

Speaking of which, Gardo went into the back of the guild in a way that he knew on his own, and Cosmos went with it. We walked through a door along the way that says' No entry except for those involved ', but all the officials are either familiar with Gard or not to blame. In no time, the two arrived in front of the Guild Commander's private room.

Gardo speaks straight towards the inside of the door.

"Hey, Marcus. You're my guest."

"That voice is Gard, or I can't get my hands off you right now, just open it and come in."

Gardo and Cosmos went indoors according to the voice returned from inside the door. Inside the room, Marcus, the guild leader, was fighting a large desk with mountains and loads of paperwork. Marcus, who was guild leader in a nearby city, has been on assignment as the new branch manager for the opening of the Labyrinth City Branch. I make dark bears under my eyes because of my considerable intense duties.

"Hello, Marcus. If you seem busy, should I come back out?

"No, don't worry, if you sign this paperwork, I'll paragraph... that's it. Thank you for waiting, Mr. Cosmos."

Marcus moved away from the large desk for the guild length to the reception space in the corner of the room. Cosmos and Gardo will also sit on a large sofa that is placed in the reception space.

"So, Mr. Cosmos, what can I do for you?

"Please take this one before you do. It's souvenir shoe cream."

Cosmos put the carton he was bringing on the table in front of the couch. Large shoe cream in the box is gobbly.

"Oh, thank you for this, let's have it fast. When you're tired, it depends on the sweet stuff. Gardo, you're gonna eat, too, right?

"Oh, I'll eat if you say no."

The two men quickly reached for the shoe cream and bumped into it.

"Yeah, yummy"

"Oh, delicious"

As my teeth broke through the crisp, textured, light dough, I overflowed with thick sweet custard cream from inside. I add plenty of cream at all costs, so the overflowing cream is going to drip from the tear of the dough.

The creamy, lightweight shoe dough often supports the cream, which tends to be heavy, and the trollish custard cream, when included in the mouth, enriches the aromatic aroma of vanilla. It has a soothing taste compared to raw cream, but it doesn't feel persistent, rather it's delicious that draws after you want to reach for the next one if you eat one.

"Hmm, that's pretty good with me."

Cosmos also took one shoe cream in his hand to check the taste and nodded as he was convinced. This time the shoe cream I brought is handmade by Cosmos. Only the Demon King is entrusted with the restaurant in his absence, and Cosmos' cooking arm is on a considerable level.

Then the three of us often indulged in shoe cream, and Cosmos finally cut to the point where the contents of the cardboard box were emptied.

"Next time I'm thinking about doing a big thing in a labyrinth city. I haven't decided on the details yet, but I was wondering if you'd consider it like a festival."

"Festival, is it? Interesting."

"Well, that's nice."

Marcus and Gardo seem to have drawn interest to Cosmos' suggestion.

"Though there have been many more people, this city has only just been able to do so and the sense of belonging among its inhabitants cannot be said to be quite high. The goal is to increase your sense of unity and thoughtfulness in the city by having a big event there. I'd like to ask the Alliance for security and guidance."

"Hmm, I see. If there are more humans rooting in this city, there are benefits here as well. I'd like to work with you."

"Thank you, I will contact you later regarding specific plans and rewards"

The matter was not of a high urgency, but the story of this hand is something that will go smoothly at a later stage if we talk through it beforehand.

But was that not all the business, Cosmos went on to move on to the next topic.

And I said, "Well, there's a story about building a school in this city."

"Well, is it school?

"Yes, we plan to build more than one elementary school in the city that teaches basic reading, writing and arithmetic, and one that deals with more advanced content. Some adventurers have expertise and skills in each field, and I hope that's how you work as a lecturer."

"... I see, if you really want to think about the future of this city, you need an educational institution. We're here to help whenever we can."

"Thank you. I'll send you more information later."

Although not immediately dramatic results will be achieved, improved literacy rates and an increase in the number of people with computational skills will have a significant effect on urban development in the long run.

This may increase the burden on adventurers, and adventurer guilds somewhat, but that burden should be considered a necessary investment for the future.

But that wasn't the end of the Cosmos story.

"I have a plan to create a public casino in the city, and I would really like to ask the guilders to help me."

"Hey, wait a minute!? Do you still have it?!?"

Marcus blocked it like he panicked the words of a pale talking cosmos.

Even though the guild's work is very busy, every day that even the status quo seems to turn a blind eye. No matter how emotionally you want to cooperate, there is an absolute limit, and you can't just add more work to it without darkness.

Cosmos said with a cool face, not knowing what was going on or not.

"Hmm, I was going to talk about it one by one, but let me tell you all about it at this time. In addition to the aforementioned plans, we have plans to create an arena, park, museum, zoo, botanical garden, amusement park, aquarium, shopping mall, my villa, library, racetrack, underground city, aerial city, etc., and we hope you will be able to help us if necessary.

By the way, you don't have to worry about the budget because all costs are public money. Water up your budget unnaturally or double your books and smoke sweet juice together. It's for the good of the world, and it warms my nose. It's like two birds with one stone. "

There was no such thing as any reluctance in Cosmos' words. And he was also willing to subtly divert public money for personal desire.

"What, the Demon King has your permission properly. I pretended to be a public tale and said," That would be interesting if I did this. "And I said," That's right. ”

“Right” means affirmative, i.e., a go sign by the supreme power. I mean, these plans are tattooed by the Demon King, who wouldn't you rather spend your budget on like hot water? "

It was an enlarged interpretation and execution to the point of stiffness.

Neither would the Demon King have ever dreamed that numerous utilities would unfold on their own, taking the insignificant public discourse for granted. I don't normally think so.

"Well, you don't have to answer me instantly on this occasion, so please consider it carefully. Oh, this is already the time. Now, if you'll excuse me for today."

Having finished all his business, Cosmos bowed down to the Marcus and then left slowly.

Overwhelmed by the impact of the story, Marcus and Gardo, who had been silent for a while, finally opened their mouths about five minutes after Cosmos left.

"I don't know, wow, that lady..."

"Oh, too free..."

Adventurers are the business of freedom, but they were so overwhelmingly free dumb that they couldn't even reach their feet.

"... you're tired of something, it's time to go mesh"

"... well, shall I report to the Demon King at last? I know it's okay, but just in case."

Cosmos' magnificent ambitions were thus to be stopped at the end of the dinner by men of common sense sensibility. Was the cause of defeat too honest for me and others?

But some of the plans that Cosmos came up with were found useful and became carriages that would actually be executed at a later date.
