Chapter 478 - 336: Deduction
Feng Mountain was speechless with embarrassment.
He wished a hole would open up in the ground so he could crawl into it.
What kind of scandalous words were these?
’A few women worked together to get Brother Shan drunk, and then...’
The turn of events was completely unexpected, and Feng Mountain had been truly wronged.
The other men who heard this all looked at the beet-red Feng Mountain with faces full of envy.
They tried their best to hold it in, but the corners of their mouths couldn’t help but twitch. They were clearly struggling to suppress their laughter.
"This... is too much," Su Ziweng muttered, but the envy, jealousy, and resentment practically spilling from his eyes betrayed his true feelings.
Eldest Young Master Xu’s mind couldn’t quite process it. He frowned and turned to ask Su Ziweng.
"So, in that case, does that mean Jenny and the others lost out, or did Brother Feng get the better end of the deal?"
The moment he asked, the atmosphere grew even more awkward.
SWISH!
In an instant, several vicious glares stabbed toward Eldest Young Master Xu.
Feng Mountain’s gaze was the sharpest among them, as if it could pierce right through him.
’What does he mean, "get the better end of the deal"?’
’This was clearly a well-planned, premeditated, and organized act by Erica and her little clique, with a very clear goal in mind.’
’From getting me drunk to everything that happened afterward.’
’I’m the victim here, okay?’
"Alright, that’s enough of that. You’re grown men, why are you gossiping like a bunch of middle-aged women?"
Xiaohua looked down at Tammy, who was already fast asleep in her arms. Bubbles occasionally escaped from the corners of her mouth. Her charmingly naive drunken appearance made Xiaohua want to laugh, but she felt it wasn’t appropriate.
So, she could only direct all her frustration at the men who were enjoying the spectacle beside her.
Then, Xiaohua glanced around the devastated restaurant.
Tables and chairs were overturned, wine bottles lay scattered about, and there was vomit on the floor. It was a total mess.
She frowned and looked at the two gossip-faced playboys.
"Eldest Young Master Xu, Su Ziweng, are you two busy or not? If you’re busy, get going. If not, stay and clean the restaurant."
"Busy, very busy!" Su Ziweng’s eyes shot wide open the moment he heard her, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. He rushed to answer first.
’The floor is disgusting. Just smelling it is making me sick, and she wants me to clean it? That’s worse than death.’
After speaking, he didn’t even wait for Eldest Young Master Xu’s reaction, grabbing his arm and hastily leaving the cabin.
"I’m going to go see the tigers!" Nash said with a deadpan expression, then followed them out.
In the blink of an eye, only Feng Mountain, a few others, and the five drunk women were left in the restaurant.
Hu Zi and Black Hide watched helplessly as the three figures quickly slipped away, feeling utterly wronged.
’You guys brought the booze, and now there’s this mess.’
’And what happens? We’re the ones left to clean it up. Have you no shame?’
After all, the two playboys were guests, so Xiaohua was too embarrassed to directly order them to work. She just found an excuse to send them away.
But Hu Zi and Black Hide were different.
One was her husband, and the other was her brother.
Ordering them around to do chores had long since become a habit, and it felt perfectly natural.
Immediately, Xiaohua’s brows shot up, her almond-shaped eyes went wide, and she yelled fiercely.
"What are you two standing there gawking for? Hurry up and get this restaurant clean! Can’t you big men see there’s work to be done?"
"Oh!"
Hu Zi and Black Hide exchanged a helpless glance, then looked to Brother Shan, their eyes pleading for him to say something on their behalf.
But to their surprise, Brother Shan’s face was as black as the bottom of a pot. He was in no mood to deal with them.
Seeing this, the two could only dejectedly turn around and go find cleaning supplies to tidy up the disastrous restaurant.
Then, Xiaohua squatted on the ground, struggling to hold Tammy.
With her large pregnant belly, she couldn’t stand up at all. Helpless, she could only cast a pleading look at Feng Mountain.
"Brother Shan, why don’t you carry them to the bedroom to rest first? We can’t just send them back to their cabins this drunk. What if something happens during the night?"
’What could possibly happen at the camp at night?’
Feng Mountain was about to refuse, but when he saw the urging in Xiaohua’s eyes, he felt a strange sense of weakness.
After a moment’s hesitation, he still walked over and gently picked Tammy up.
As if finding a pillar of support, Tammy instinctively wrapped her arms around Feng Mountain’s neck and snuggled her head affectionately under his chin, like an adorable baby bear.
She was still mumbling incoherently.
"You big jerk... why are you so mean... bullying people..."
Feng Mountain looked helpless. He then caught Xiaohua’s ambiguous, half-smiling expression, which seemed to hold a hidden meaning, making him feel uncomfortable all over.
Not daring to linger, he quickly carried Tammy to the second-floor bedroom and gently placed her on the bed.
Next, Feng Mountain made trip after trip, carrying Jenny, Erica, Demi, and Maria to the second-floor bedroom one by one.
Fortunately, the bed in the bedroom was wide enough to accommodate all five of them with room to spare.
Dripping with sweat from the effort, Feng Mountain covered each of them with a blanket, gently closed the door behind him, and hurried back downstairs.
Back in the restaurant, the two poor souls, Hu Zi and Black Hide, were nearly finished cleaning the tables and floor.
Seeing this, Feng Mountain quickly rolled up his sleeves and joined in, helping to tidy up the remaining odds and ends.
Once the restaurant was completely clean, they dragged their exhausted bodies back to the living room and plopped down on the sofa.
The wood in the fireplace crackled and burned, its warm yellow light reflecting on everyone’s faces. But for some reason, the atmosphere had become somewhat oppressive.
No one spoke, each lost in their own thoughts. The only sound was the occasional, soft crackle of the burning firewood, which seemed especially clear in the silent atmosphere.
