Hearing the terms offered from outside, the black man couldn’t help but be tempted.

Hesitation flickered in his eyes, and he subconsciously eased the butterfly knife away from Erica’s neck.

"Why should I believe you?" he demanded, his voice still wary but no longer laced with the despair of moments before.

"How does this sound," Feng Mountain replied patiently. "I’ll leave the car and the money right at the cabin door. Once you’ve confirmed it’s all there, you can take her to the car. You can let her go after you’re away from the ski resort. I swear to God, I won’t give you any trouble."

"Real—" The man had just raised his head, a single word barely leaving his lips.

In that instant, a sharp BANG erupted from behind him, as loud as thunder exploding within the room.

A sharp pain immediately seared his back as a powerful force slammed into him, sending him stumbling forward uncontrollably.

In an instant, his vision went black.

It felt as if all his strength was instantly drained away. His legs could no longer support him, and he crumpled to the ground.

At the same moment the gunshot rang out, Feng Mountain kicked the door open. It slammed back, shaking violently with a deafening CRASH.

He then charged into the room with Steering Wheel, Wild Ox, Bat, and Gunpowder right behind him.

The scene inside the room sent a sharp pang through Feng Mountain’s heart.

The four women looked terrified, their eyes filled with the lingering horror of their ordeal. They were like lambs to the slaughter, their hands and feet tightly bound, with iron chains around their necks.

"Feng!"

"Feng!"

The moment Jenny and the others saw Feng Mountain, the terror they had been desperately holding back finally broke through.

Terrified tears finally streamed from their eyes.

The tears, carrying all their pent-up fear and anguish, flowed uncontrollably.

Their bodies trembled slightly, and their lips moved without forming any coherent words.

All they could manage were choked, tearful calls of his name.

"It’s okay. You’re safe now. Everything’s going to be all right!" Feng Mountain hurried forward to embrace them, his heart aching as he gently stroked their heads. He was like a man calming frightened little birds, using his warmth to dispel the terror in their hearts.

Yves shattered a window with the butt of his gun and, to the sound of breaking glass, vaulted into the room.

He and the other veterans surrounded the unconscious man on the floor. After a quick inspection, they confirmed his life wasn’t in immediate danger.

Then, their gazes fell on the captive women. A mixture of pity and rage filled their hearts, and their expressions instantly darkened. They turned back to the unconscious man and started kicking him, each blow filled with unbridled fury.

"Boss, counting this one, we’ve captured all five. Our guys are okay," Yves reported to Feng Mountain, turning his head mid-kick.

Feng Mountain didn’t even glance over. "Take him to the first floor," he said coldly.

"Feng, he’s not dead?" Erica asked, her eyes swimming with tears as she watched the man being dragged away. A hateful light shot from her eyes, clearly furious with the bastard who had almost cut her mouth.

"They’re not dead. We used rubber bullets and stun grenades, so all five of them are alive. Didn’t you promise you’d send them to the Bering Sea to see the crabs? You can’t go back on your word."

Feng Mountain shook his head, then knelt and carefully untied the ropes on Jenny’s hands.

Her hands had been bound for a long time, and now they were finally free. Jenny looked at Feng Mountain gratefully, her eyes brimming with tears.

"Feng, I could just kiss you to death!" Erica was overwhelmed with excitement. Ignoring Bat, who was in the middle of unfastening the iron chain from her neck, she leaned close to Feng Mountain and planted a heavy kiss on his cheek to show her gratitude.

「Back down in the first-floor living room.」

The five kidnappers, all covered in wounds, knelt wretchedly on the floor, their hands bound behind them.

Although rubber bullets are considered less-lethal, they still carry the risk of death when fired at close range.

The areas on the kidnappers’ bodies struck by the rubber bullets had become open wounds, the surrounding tissue was clearly swollen, and large bruises were spreading.

The long-haired man, in particular, let out agonized screams that occasionally echoed through the living room.

Judging by his severely deformed arm, it was clear the immense impact of a rubber bullet had shattered the bone.

Feng Mountain walked into the living room with Jenny and the other three women.

Tammy still hadn’t recovered from her terror. She clung tightly to Feng Mountain’s neck, her body trembling slightly. She was curled up in his arms like a frightened little animal, letting out soft, intermittent sobs.

Nash was quick-witted.

He went over and kicked the sofa onto its side, quickly cleared away the debris from inside it, and then set it upright again.

Feng Mountain sat down with Tammy in his arms, while Jenny and Erica sat on either side of him.

Exhaustion was visible in Jenny’s eyes as she leaned against Feng Mountain and let out a soft breath. Erica’s expression, however, was fierce. She kept glancing at the man who had wanted to cut her mouth, her eyes glinting with the fire of vengeance.

Demi, on the other hand, acted as if nothing was wrong, as if the entire ordeal had barely affected her.

She turned and ran into the kitchen to look for something to eat.

The other veterans were resting, scattered in various corners of the living room.

However, their guns remained aimed at the five kidnappers, just in case anything unexpected happened.

"Fellas, what would you say if I told you this was all just a joke?" Several round, swollen holes oozed blood from the handsome man’s cheeks and neck. He tried to squeeze out a placating smile, but the pain twisted it into a hideous grimace.

He then turned his gaze to Jenny, who was nestled beside Feng Mountain, his eyes full of pleading. He stammered, "Jenny, I was really just joking. I never meant to hurt you. See? I didn’t touch you at all these past few days!"

"Shameless!" Jenny stared at the man, her lips pressed into a thin line.
