Landlord in the Arctic

Chapter 677 - 435: Leaving

Sponsored

Just as the women were reveling in the joy of surviving their ordeal...

A deafening roar of car engines approached from the distance.

Four black SUVs roared into the ski resort, heading straight for the cabin. They screeched to a halt as they approached, kicking up a flurry of snow.

Car doors opened and closed.

Gordon and his three men quickly stepped out of the vehicles.

Upon seeing Jenny and the others standing safely in front of the cabin, the hearts that had been in their throats finally dropped.

The tense expressions on their faces instantly softened.

Gordon and his three men...

They had once been poaching reindeer near Moonlight Forest before the boss and his crew took them all down in one fell swoop.

Afterward, they were brought to Crown Territory for labor reform.

During that time, Miss Jenny had taken great care of them.

She not only provided them with hot, delicious meals and arranged for comfortable lodging, but she also never discriminated against them for being poachers.

Gordon and his men never forgot her kindness.

So when they later heard that Jenny and the others had been kidnapped, they skipped Christmas, taking an overnight flight to Montana to meet up with Yves.

"Thank God! Miss Jenny, you’re all right. This is wonderful!"

Gordon’s face was filled with joy as he took a few steps forward, his voice full of concern.

"Thank you for coming!" Although Jenny looked somewhat haggard, seeing the concern on their faces, she still managed a smile in response.

"All you see is Sister Jenny; you don’t care about us at all!" Erica feigned unhappiness, pouting her lips.

"Miss Erica, Miss Tammy, Miss Demi, I’m so happy to see you all!"

Gordon reacted in a flash, quickly adding his greetings.

Everyone in Crown Territory knew the consequences of offending Erica. The thought of her getting on his case was enough to give him a headache.

"All right, let’s get out of here," Feng Mountain said with a smile, holding Tammy with one arm while freeing the other to gently pat Erica on the head.

"Miss Jenny, may Saint Maria be blessed!" Just then, Diego shot out of the car like a gust of wind. His face was flushed with excitement as he trotted up to Jenny.

"Diego, you came too!" Seeing the young man from Mexico, a flicker of surprise crossed Jenny’s eyes. She was clearly having trouble processing it all.

"My lady sent me to guide Sir. You weren’t injured, were you?" Diego quickly explained, his nervous eyes scanning Jenny, terrified that she might have been harmed during her abduction.

While everyone was talking,

BANG! The rear door of one of the SUVs swung open.

And then...

Little Tom appeared before them in a bizarre, twisted position. His hands and feet were tightly bound, making him look like a goat about to be sheared, but that didn’t stop him from yelling.

"Sister Jenny, it’s Little Tom! I came to save you, too! Let me out! I didn’t betray you!"

’Little Tom?’

Hearing the name, Jenny walked toward the sound, a curious look on her face.

As she neared the car door,

she saw a young police officer trussed up, desperately wriggling on the seat like a squirming maggot.

"That’s right, it’s me! Miles’s brother! From Hot Spring School! The Little Tom who always wet his pants! The Little Tom who ate his boogers! Don’t you remember me?"

In his desperation to be freed,

Little Tom no longer cared about his dignity.

He even resorted to revealing his most embarrassing childhood secrets.

"I remember now! Little Tom from first grade! Why are you tied up?"

Jenny frowned slightly. It took her a moment, but she finally connected the young police officer before her with the little boy from her memories.

"Oh, him. He’s not just a chatterbox, he’s meddlesome too," Feng Mountain explained as he stepped forward. He shot a look at Gordon, signaling him to untie the man.

’After all, everyone had been rescued. There was no point in dwelling on whether Little Tom had tipped someone off earlier.’

Gordon got the hint.

He pulled a Hunting Knife from his belt and walked over to the car.

He bent down.

The Hunting Knife in his hand glinted. With a few quick slices,

he cut through the zip ties binding Little Tom.

Finally free, Little Tom scrambled out of the car.

He first stretched his stiff limbs, relieving his long-bound body.

Then, he slowly raised his head to look at Jenny.

One look and he froze, completely stunned. His eyes went wide, his face a mask of utter disbelief.

Then, as if he’d been electrocuted, a shiver ran through his body. He subconsciously raised a trembling hand and pointed at Jenny, his lips quivering as he stammered,

"S-Sister Jenny... your face... where did the Scar go?"

As it turned out,

on the day Jenny was disfigured by Gaston,

Little Tom had happened to be at the hospital dealing with a traffic accident.

At the time,

he had personally witnessed Jenny being rushed into the hospital by ambulance.

The gruesome sight was still vivid in his memory to this day.

Driven by professional instinct,

Little Tom, in his capacity as a deputy Sheriff, questioned the doctor in detail about Jenny’s injuries. He learned that a sharp object had been used to viciously carve an eight-inch-long scar across her face.

Bursting with a sense of justice, Little Tom immediately told his colleagues to arrest Gaston and make him pay for his vicious act.

Later, however,

Jenny unexpectedly chose not to file a police report.

She simply said that the injury on her face was an accident, a cut from broken glass.

Since the victim herself said so, the matter was ultimately dropped.

That scumbag Gaston was released.

But the Scar had left an incredibly deep impression on Little Tom.

But looking at Jenny now,

the Scar on her face was nothing more than a faint red mark.

If you didn’t look closely,

you would never even notice she had once suffered such a grievous injury.
