Chapter 445 - 319: The Reason, Part 2

After all, a love of beauty is human nature, especially for the young women present.

The thought of how the long, shocking scar on Jenny’s face had magically healed had everyone convinced.

Jenny must be hiding some unknown beauty secret.

...

Wawa raced the snowmobile, speeding toward the runway in a hurry.

Finally, the runway came into view. The P750 plane was already waiting quietly.

Feng Shan patted Wawa’s shoulder, hastily jumped off the snowmobile, and dashed to the plane in a few strides, quickly ducking into the cabin.

A wave of warmth greeted him as he entered the cabin; the heat had already been turned on.

Looking up, he saw Nash and Ma Wei sitting leisurely in their seats.

Feng Shan said with a hint of a tease, "I thought you’d be waiting for me outside."

Nash didn’t say a word, just gave Feng Shan a strange look that clearly said, ’You think I’m an idiot?’ as if in silent reply.

’Does he take me for a fool?’

’It’s forty degrees below zero. You think I’d be stupid enough to wait outside for you for over half an hour?’

Feng Shan gave an awkward laugh, realizing his blunder. He quickly pulled the cabin door shut, then turned to Yves in the cockpit and said, "Let’s go. To Fairbanks."

"Roger that!"

Yves started the engine. The propeller began to turn slowly, emitting a low hum.

As its speed increased, the propeller kicked up the snow on the runway, sending snowflakes flying everywhere like a white mist.

With the powerful thrust of the engine, the P750 accelerated down the runway.

A moment later, the nose lifted, and the plane shot into the night sky like an arrow released from a bow, disappearing into the vast darkness.

Inside, the plane flew smoothly through the night sky, the soft cabin lights washing over everyone.

Feng Shan sat comfortably in his seat, his gaze falling on the serious-looking Ma Wei.

"How are you finding the camp, buddy?"

"It’s great," Ma Wei answered without hesitation, his every move showing a soldier’s crisp, efficient manner.

Feng Shan leaned back into the soft seat, crossed his legs, and waved a casual hand.

"No need to be so formal. Let’s just chat like friends. Once you’re settled at the camp, if you want to bring your family over, that’s no problem at all."

"As long as you work hard, I can give you a plot of land. You can build a house on it and live a stable life. Plus, we’ll be building schools, kindergartens... all sorts of facilities will be developed over time."

Hearing his boss paint such an attractive picture for the future, Ma Wei’s expression couldn’t help but soften.

A flash of pleasant surprise appeared in his eyes, and some of the hardness in his resolute expression melted away.

For someone who had been drifting, the scene his boss described was undoubtedly a deeply alluring vision of a wonderful future.

「Time passed quietly as the plane flew smoothly.」

Before they knew it, three hours had passed in a flash.

Inside the cabin, Feng Shan, who had been dozing, was gently shaken awake by Nash.

He groggily removed his sleep mask, rubbed his drowsy eyes, and looked out the window. Below, under the black curtain of night, a magnificent spread of lights came into view.

They had arrived at Fairbanks!

Yves first reported their flight to air traffic control, then gently landed the plane on the runway at Old Tom’s Flying School.

With the soft screech of tires making contact with the runway, the plane came to a steady stop.

The cabin door opened, and the group disembarked one by one.

A blast of cold air hit them, making everyone shiver involuntarily.

Feng Shan immediately spotted a container truck parked at the edge of the runway. In the light, he could see the "John’s Freight" slogan on its side.

Just then, the door of the adjacent container office opened, and Old Tom and Snow walked out.

They met, exchanged a few pleasantries, and got straight to the point.

"Feng, are you planning to take the tigers home across the tundra?" Snow had already guessed Feng Shan’s intentions after learning that Old Tom had bought two snowmobiles.

"That’s right!"

Feng Shan was quite frank, admitting his plan directly without any attempt to hide it.

"God!!" Upon hearing this, both Snow and Old Tom’s faces showed expressions of utter shock.

Ten tigers, plus a flightless vulture and dozens of parrots, were to be taken across the Far North Tundra back to the Crown Territory.

Just imagining such a scene was enough to make both men feel it was unbelievable.

It was a crazy idea that not even God would dare to attempt lightly.

"Feng, do you think you’re herding cattle? Tigers aren’t a herd that will just follow your commands. Buddy, you’d better give up this unrealistic idea right now."

Old Tom had always been blunt and directly voiced his opposition to the insane plan.

Snow quickly nodded in agreement. "That’s right. Even though Tyson and the others were raised in captivity, if you suddenly put them in the tundra, there’s no guarantee their wild instincts won’t awaken."

"This is just too crazy. I absolutely will not agree to it."

"That’s right, we don’t agree either!" Yves and Ma Wei also spoke up, expressing their disapproval.

Although Nash remained silent, he stood quietly beside Yves, his actions speaking for him. He, too, protested the plan.

Everyone had thought their boss was here to pick up some ordinary friends.

Who would have thought these so-called "friends" were actually tigers, a vulture, and a flock of parrots!!

This was no laughing matter.

Without any weapons, everyone there knew one thing for certain.

Not a single one of them was confident they could take on a tiger in a fistfight.

"Don’t worry. Even Taiga Wolves are like kittens in front of me."

Feng Shan understood that everyone was objecting out of concern for him. They just didn’t know that he had used the Beast Taming Technique on the tigers, and right now, those tigers were as docile as obedient kittens.

After speaking, Feng Shan walked straight toward the trailer.

As soon as he got close, the tigers inside the trailer keenly picked up his scent and instantly grew excited.

They began to ram their bodies against the trailer walls, making dull thuds. Their urgent movements seemed to express their longing for Feng Shan, eager to see him.

This sudden commotion scared the driver in the cab half to death.

His face turned deathly pale, his eyes wide with terror. He fumbled to push open the cab door, then tumbled out of the truck and scrambled toward the container office without looking back.

As he ran, he yelled frantically at the others.

"Fuck! The tigers have gone crazy! I never should’ve taken this job! Shit, are you people insane? Run!"

’Run!’

The thought had, in fact, flashed through everyone’s mind.

After all, the sound of tigers going berserk was terrifying. Who wouldn’t be afraid?

But their boss was still next to the trailer, and from the looks of it, he was about to open the doors.

Yves, Nash, and Ma Wei exchanged a look. Without a moment’s hesitation, they followed closely behind Feng Shan.

Old Tom’s legs were trembling uncontrollably. His first instinct was to turn and run.

But then he had a second thought. Feng Shan was his biggest client. If he ran away now, his future would be ruined.

So, he gritted his teeth, suppressed his fear, and stayed put.

The calmest one among them was, surprisingly, Snow.

After all, he had cared for the tigers for many years and knew their habits like the back of his hand.

These tigers wouldn’t attack people for no reason. Perhaps they were just cooped up in the cramped space of the trailer for too long and were getting angry and restless, which was why they were ramming the walls.

Although he was a little worried, he was nowhere near as panicked as the others.

CREAK!!

With a sharp screech of metal, Feng Shan pulled open the trailer doors and climbed inside.

The moment the caged tigers saw Feng Shan’s figure, their agitation instantly transformed into the kind of fervent excitement one has when seeing a loved one.

They all rushed to the edge of their cages, letting out a series of rising and falling whimpers, as if telling Feng Shan all about the grievances they had suffered while being locked up.

Seeing this, Feng Shan quickly reached his hand into a cage and gently placed it on a tiger’s head. "Alright, settle down. I’m going to let you out to stretch your legs, but you are not to run around, and absolutely no biting people. Got it?"

ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!!

As if they understood Feng Shan’s words, the tigers all nodded in agreement.

Their once-ferocious roars now held a hint of obedience.
