Chapter 480 - 337: I Get It
The night passed quietly.
Under the cover of the polar night, the early morning sky gradually transitioned from a deep, profound darkness to a soft, ethereal blue.
The crisp chattering of a flock of parrots echoed cheerfully over the camp, a unique morning chorus.
Guests who had been partying all night stumbled out of the bar one after another, yawning as they made plans to do it all again tonight.
Eldest Young Master Xu and Su Ziweng had their arms slung over each other’s shoulders. Though their faces were etched with fatigue, they both wore satisfied smiles.
In the past, the tavern had few customers, most of whom were camp staff. They’d come in for a beer at most, chat for a bit, and then leave.
But things were completely different now. The young crewmen from the River Beach, with no voyages to go on, were bursting with pent-up energy they had no way to release.
They couldn’t care less about the scenery or the environment; their minds were filled with thoughts of drinking, having fun, and hitting on girls. As a result, they had made business at the bar exceptionally lively.
After the crewmen arrived in the Crown Territory, Feng Mountain secretly used Witchcraft to heal the hidden ailments in their bodies.
Once healed, the crewmen were all filled with vigor, as if they had an endless supply of energy.
Aside from an occasional soak in the hot springs, they spent nearly all their remaining time cooped up in the tavern.
Before, the camp’s population was pitifully small. Every time a tour group left, the camp became nothing more than an empty shell.
Moreover, most of the camp staff were women. After finding a stable life in the Crown Territory, they naturally longed for the affection of men.
The awkward part was that the number of men in the camp was limited.
The people of the Bear Tribe rarely set foot in the camp on a normal day, except to collect supplies.
The four old men who trembled when they walked were hardly options.
Then there was Peyton’s group of soldiers, completely clueless about romance. Whenever they weren’t working, they’d gather at the shooting range, single-mindedly fiddling with their guns.
As for the camp’s only boss, Feng Mountain, he was treated like a prized possession by a few of the older women, completely off-limits. Others could only watch with longing, with no chance at all.
For the women of the camp, life felt inexplicably lonely and cold.
Who would have thought that a group of strong, strapping young men would suddenly arrive and liven up the camp in an instant?
Especially in the tavern. After a few drinks, these crewmen’s eyes were like those of hungry wolves, ready to devour someone.
And the women of the camp were like dry tinder meeting the crewmen’s raging fire, igniting in an instant.
In any case, everyone was just looking to have some fun. It was merely a way to relieve their mutual loneliness; no one intended to take responsibility for anyone else.
And so, the tavern naturally became the gathering spot for the young men and women, filled daily with laughter and a flirtatious atmosphere.
"Honghong, what do you say we open a bar here in the Crown Territory?" Su Ziweng, reeking of alcohol, casually slung an arm around Xu Hongying’s shoulder, his words slurring slightly. "The tavern is Brother Shan’s place, after all. I always feel like I can’t really let loose here. Why don’t the two of us open our own bar? Then we can party however we want. How awesome would that be?"
"No problem. You run it, I’ll invest." Eldest Young Master Xu’s tired eyes suddenly lit up as if he’d heard a brilliant idea, and he nodded repeatedly in agreement. "Should we mention it to Brother Feng?"
The tavern in the Crown Territory had a more relaxed, quiet atmosphere, and its overall decor was quite traditional. It was better suited for gatherings of friends or family dinners.
Even though Demi had installed laser dance lights and started playing more explosive music to attract the younger crowd, it couldn’t fundamentally change the tavern’s traditional impression.
After all, the tavern’s positioning from the very beginning wasn’t suited for the kind of wild, unrestrained entertainment that young people craved.
In contrast, it was more suitable for people to calm down and have a quiet chat.
If you really wanted to let loose and have fun, a place like a bar was what you needed.
Su Ziweng shook his head and said nonchalantly,
"No need to tell Brother Feng. Erica’s keeping him too busy to be bothered. Let’s go straight to that kid David. Brother Feng doesn’t manage much these days anyway. David’s basically in charge of all the planning and construction in the camp. Let’s go, let’s go! We’ll go find him right now."
With that, he grabbed Eldest Young Master Xu and staggered off in David’s direction.
「Meanwhile, in a bedroom on the second floor of the wooden house.」
Jenny, woken up right on time by her biological clock, felt her head swimming.
The red wine from last night had a strong kick, and her head throbbed with a dull ache, as if someone were tapping it with a small hammer.
However, the worst discomfort wasn’t coming from her head, but from her chest. It felt as if a large rock was pressing down on it, making it difficult to breathe.
She groggily opened her eyes, and the first thing she saw was Erica’s drooling face, along with a foot planted right next to her head.
For a moment, Jenny’s brain seemed to freeze.
’Where am I?’
’What is this place?’
’What happened?’
The three classic questions of disorientation echoed uncontrollably in her mind.
Jenny subconsciously pushed Erica’s head away, only to realize her clothes were soaked with drool and unpleasantly sticky.
As consciousness slowly returned, she began to struggle to recall the details of the previous night.
The welcome banquet... Feng Mountain... red wine... getting drunk...
These scattered memory fragments flashed through her mind like a slideshow.
The next moment, as if struck by an electric shock, Jenny shot upright, grabbed Erica, and pulled her up. Gripping her shoulders tightly, she began to shake her forcefully.
"Wake up, Erica! Hurry up and wake up!" Jenny cried out anxiously, her voice laced with obvious panic.
