Law of the Devil
Chapter 29: The Night on a Lonely Male and a Female Island
Chapter 29 [A Night on a Lonely Male and a Female Island]
As the sun set, Dewey's search finally paid off.
He found a small water pit deep in the forest to the west of the island. This is probably the catchment pit left behind after the rainy season, there are no beasts on the island, the pit is somewhat backlit, Dewey carefully checked the area around the water source and found no trace of any beast activity.
Tasted it and confirmed it was fresh water in the pit, and Dewey was relieved. Two young boys and girls, thirsty for most of the day, immediately fell over the edge of the water pit and poured it into the dry, flaming throat with a cool slightly odd smell, and Dewey couldn't help but sigh a pleasant sigh. When that slight cool feeling slips down your throat, the whole person will feel comfortable beating a shake.
Immediately after drinking the water, Dewey took off her sheepskin boots and washed them in the pit.
“What are you doing?” Vivian blinked at Dewey's movements.
“Wash your shoes.” Dewey said that the movement in his hand didn't stop: “Then he filled it with water. ”
“Plenty of water? With shoes?” Vivian gave a weird look.
“Sure.” Dewey whispered: “Can you find any other dishes that hold water besides shoes? Do you have any bottles or jars? If not, then only with shoes. My shoes are sheepskin and waterproof.” Speaking of which, Dewey glanced at the silly chick: “Stop frowning, it's our only way. We don't know how long we're gonna stay in this shithole. We can't stay here and guard this puddle. We have to go to the shore! If you think my shoes stink, you can take off your own shoes to fill the water. ”
Vivian still has some beams, and Dewey hastened: "Hurry up. Unless you want to drink the water in my shoes tomorrow. ”
It was probably the last sentence that inspired poor little Vivian, who hurriedly took off her shoes with her hands and feet.
The magician's shoes are also leather, as if they were better than Dewey's sheepskin boots. After taking off her shoes, the sorceress appeared to be a little overwhelmed, with white socks on her horns, but had been stained with blood, seemingly after a half-day of walking, the girl's feet were polished with blisters and the blisters were broken.
Soon, the sorceress learned the look of Dewey lying on the side of the puddle and quickly washing her shoes. She washed it again and again, and finally Dewey got a little impatient: "It's enough to wash it twice. Why are you washing it so many times? ”
“Shoes… shoes, dirty…”
Dewey laughed and looked at this simple silly chick: "Hey, look, this puddle is not big, just a little bit of water. You wash your shoes, you wash them, but the water is dirty, and the last thing you drink is the water. ”
“...” Vivian stunned, then she flattened her mouth and stood up with infinite grievances, filling her two boots with water: “But, me, are we really going to drink this? ”
“By tomorrow, when you're thirsty for smoke, you won't hesitate to drink it, even if it's ten times dirtier.” Dewey whispered, “Okay, now let's go back. ”
On the way, Dewey was still driving in front of her with that long wooden stick, but walking a little while, she noticed that the sorceress behind her had fallen farther and farther away. Dewey stopped and frowned and looked at her: “You better hurry, it's late. If the sun goes down completely, it turns dark here, and we walk harder, walking in the woods at night, it's hard to tell the direction. ”
Vivian nodded her head so hard that she picked up the pace, but walked a few steps deep and shallow, but she couldn't help but cry: “I... my feet, my feet hurt so much. ”
Dewey frowned at her and looked down. The girl's tiny toes had been pierced with thorns. They had a fine, round ankle and a few tiny toes covered in dirt and silk blood.
Sighed, Dewey was helpless. It was also difficult for such a delicate girl to walk barefoot in the jungle.
Dewey froze and hung both shoes around her neck, then turned around and slightly bent her back.
“Get up here! ”
“… hmm? ”
“I said come on up!” Dewey turned his back on the female magician and his voice was still ruthless: “Come on. Don't waste your time, I'll carry you back. ”
“Cocoa is...”
“Nothing, but listen, little girl, we have to hurry up and get back to the dragon before dark, we are not familiar with the island, God knows what is on the island. Now you and I don't have the ability to defend ourselves. We have to hurry! Now, stop talking nonsense and get up here! ”
Dewey's harsh voice kept poor little Vivian from disputing anything, and she immediately learned to hang her shoes around her neck like Dewey and lay down on Dewey's back.
A few steps behind a female magician, Dewey felt a little hard. After all, although he was an adult, his body was still a teenager and a half... and he was still a weak, sick, and congenitally weak guy.
“Thank you… thank you. ”
After a short walk, the sorceress on her back suddenly whispered and stuttered. Her voice was so low that Dewey could barely hear her. But he just hummed and didn't talk.
So, on this deserted island, at night, poor little Vivian lays on the back of a strange teenager, and she looks up and sees the black sky revealing in the crevices of dense and numb branches, lowers her head and sees the teenager underneath her as she moves forward in a difficult way and hears Dewey's breathing of strength.
Vivian suddenly felt that this honest bully himself, a vicious little nobleman speaking, did not seem so terrible...
•
Returning to the place where two people “crashed”, the dragon was still asleep. According to Vivian stuttering on the road, the dragon recovers slowly from falling asleep after being injured, without even eating or drinking during this period.
This gives Dewey a sigh of relief... Fortunately, otherwise, there's not enough fresh water for people to drink, where can you feed a dragon?
Walking back to the makeshift camp for two, Dewey abandoned her magician and herself gasped with a big mouth on the ground.
“I can't... I can't...” Dewey breathed big mouth, gasping like a dying person, all sore and weak, complaining: “If it used to be, don't talk about such a little girl on her back, even if she had a back, I could run a thousand meters at a time, now this body is too bad...”
Vivian next to her fell to the floor, but this time she didn't scream any more pain. Instead, she sat up and watched as Dover gasped. The silly girl suddenly jumped up, her hands and feet cluttered off a large leaf from a book, and then sat quietly beside Dover, lifting her little hand to try to give Dowie a cool breeze.
Dewey gasped for a moment and looked up at Vivian: “What are you doing? ”
“I... I think you look tired. I'll give you a fan.” Vivian said with her big eyes open.
Dewey couldn't bear to laugh. This girl is a little silly, but she's also a little silly and cute: “Thanks... but don't you know it's early spring and it's still cold? ”
Dewey gently grabbed that big leaf from the witch's hand and looked at the witch's reddish face with a few smiles, and said, "Well, we're going to go up on a fire now, otherwise it'll get cold at night. We don't have anything right now, and if it gets cold and sick, we're in big trouble. ”
In fact, the problem of cold nights is not difficult to solve, as long as two people sleep against giant dragons.
After all, that dragon is a flame dragon... it's just that if you sleep next to such a huge, big dragon in your sleep turns around casually, those two can be crushed to death.
And I'm afraid Vivian will be the first magician in history to be crushed by his own magical pet.
Dewey picked up enough branches of leaves to allow the sorceress to perform a fire magic... a little fireball trick (that's all Vivian has left of his magical abilities now.)
The branches were lit, Vivian held the torch, Dewey hugged enough branches, the two came to the side of the beach, Dewey raised a fire heap, he tried to stack the branches as high as he could, and the campfire burned violently.
In the darkness, the bright lights, probably visible even far away!
Dewey sighed, that's the only hope. Just hope that there will be some kind of passing boat, see the campfire here, and send someone over, so that they may be saved.
After everything, Dewey was exhausted, and he lay on the beach with a long sigh.
This is the moment... Goo!
Dewey stunned for a moment and then heard another...
Goo
He sat up and looked at Vivian next to him with a faint smile.
“I'm sorry, I'm in my stomach.” The campfire next to her lined the witch's face with red tongue, and Vivian was somewhat embarrassed to cover her belly: “Me, I'm hungry. ”
“Me too.” Dewey sighs: “Unfortunately, at the current location, we haven't found any small animals on the island, otherwise it would be nice to grab two and get an open-air barbecue here. ”
“So... what about wild fruit?” Probably hunger makes the magician a little smarter.
“Look around. Where are the fruit trees? Not even that berry bush. Only leaves and weeds.” Dewey sighed: "Otherwise, should I remind you? ”
“So, what about the fish?” The sorceress looked pitifully at Dewey: “Is there a fish in the sea? ”
Dewey shrugged his shoulder and he looked at Vivian: "Can you swim? ”
The female magician shook her head.
“Neither will I.” Dewey grinned bitterly: “I, like you, am a dry duck. Fishing in the water, that kind of thing I don't have. And by daylight, I've been searching the coast. I only find some empty shellfish and conch, unless your stomach digests hard shellfish? ”
“But I'm so hungry.” Vivian pitied his little mouth and blinked at Dewey.
“I can't help it, just sleep overnight. Tomorrow at dawn, I'll try to get a long branch to see if I can find a fish by the sea... Not now, it's dark now, we won't be able to swim, if we drown, it's over. ”
Vivian sighed and she could only sit down... accidentally, she sat next to Dewey.
“Talk and forget about hunger.” Dewey smiled, “We haven't officially gotten to know each other yet. By the way, we're kind of in distress right now. ”
“Why not? Understood? ”
“For example...” Dewey thought, "He looks at the stars in the sky with his knees in his arms:“ For example, you're so young, you don't seem older than me, do you? How did you become a great magician? It's a great thing. ”
“I don't know either.” Vivian also learned to hold his knee like Dewey, sighing softly: “I've been with my teacher since I was a kid, and I've never been out of the house, this is the second time. ”
Dewey looked over at the silly girl and suddenly smiled: “Actually, your voice sounds pretty good, sweet and soft, if you don't stutter, it's better. ”
“I'm sorry, I didn't mean to.” Vivian blushes: “I've been a little short on talking since I was a kid. ”
“In fact, the more you stutter, the more you talk, the more you do anything, the better.” "Well, tell me about you," said Dewey. "How did you become a Level 8 magician?“ At your young age, such an achievement would probably be the same throughout the empire. ”
“What?” Vivian looked at Dewey blindly.
Dewey sighed and smiled bitterly: "Hey, I'm complimenting you, at least give me a response. ”
“Ah... sorry, I...” Vivian panicked again.
“Silly girl.” Dewey, shake your head. "Do you seem to know nothing but magic? ”
Thereafter, Dewey talked to Vivian patiently for a while, and Vivian told Dewey something about herself.
She, Vivian Yang, has been learning magic with her teacher since she remembered.
However, the identity of her teacher depends on what Dewey asks. A little silly chick just bites her teeth off and refuses to reveal half a word, even Dewey can't spell it out.
Consider her teacher a worldly man.
Vivian lived in a secret place with her teacher since she was a kid, and according to her, it was also in a mountain. Vivian has only gone out twice in more than a decade, but has spent almost all his time studying magic at home.
All she does every day is learn all sorts of magic knowledge, recite all sorts of weird, hard magic, and... wash the clothes for that teacher.
“Laundry?” Dewey laughed: “Can you do laundry, too? ”
He pulled up Vivian's little hand and looked at it: "Such a soft little hand doesn't seem to do the chores. ”
“I will!” Vivian blushes, and I don't know if it's because Dewey doesn't believe her, or if she's shy because Dewey is holding her hand: "Me and I can use magic to wash... just the next spell, the clothes can wash themselves. ”
“Oh… isn't that like a washing machine…” Dewey moved.
Vivian went out twice, the first time her teacher took her to the headquarters of the magic union in Didu, where she participated in a secret, private magic level assessment.
Prior to that exam, her teacher used to say, "Let the fools of the Magic Union stare out their eyes! Let them know what an amazing genius I have developed!! ”
And the result is that... the magicians at the Magician's Guild, who was in charge of that exam, almost stared out their eyes.
Because, magically speaking, Vivian is a genius! And a genius among geniuses!
A 14-year-old Level 8 magician! It's almost all over the magician's history, and it's never happened!!
“Well, that was a year ago.” Vivian was a little embarrassed: “The magicians were going to let me stay in Dido, but the teacher said that nobody washed the clothes at home, so they took me back. ”
“Hmm, your teacher doesn't want you to be dragged away by the magic union people.” Of course Dewey won't be as simple as Vivian: “An eight-level magician, anywhere, is a big, important figure! Even in a magic union, how many great magicians can there be above level eight? Hmm... and you're so young. ”
“Mmm.” Vivian blinked, blinked her eyes, she didn't quite understand Dewey's words, but she quickly got happy: “That exam, I passed, the teacher was happy, he gave me a gift, it was intense... intense... intense sun! ”
“The dragon? ”
“Mmm!” Vivian said of her magical pet and immediately flew away: “That's it! ”
Dewey sighed... who was her teacher? How dare you take a dragon as a gift!!
This isn't some cat or dog! It's a dragon!!
And Vivian stayed in the teacher's hiding place for another year... still learning magic and laundry every day.
Later, this recent outing was her second time in the outside world. Just to catch the escaped Phantom of Fear... that's her teacher's pet.
“Wait!” Dewey jumped up suddenly, his face was a little excited, looking at Vivian: “Where's the phantom demon? Still on you, huh? ”
Vivian lit up her skull and unwrapped her robe. The little phantom demon was locked in a small cage and hung on Vivian's waist.
“Tummy, tummy, now you're saved!” Dewey had a hungry green light in his eyes and swallowed a sip: “Hey, silly girl! We can stop starving. Well, this little thing, meatballs, looks really fat! Although there are no ingredients here, it should taste pretty good after peeling and baking. ”
“...” Vivian blinked, blinking her eyes. It took half a day to understand Dewey's words, and suddenly she screamed: “Ah!! No, no, no!! You, you, you can't eat me, my chirp! It's the teacher's pet, eat it, me, me...”
“It doesn't matter...” Dewey shouted. “We're all hungry for a day. We won't have the strength tomorrow, and we don't know if we can catch fish! ”
“No, no, no, no... don't eat my chirp.” Vivian held the little cage in her arms so hard, she wouldn't let Dewey take it: “Don't eat my chirp. ”
Then eat your dragon! ”Dewey shouted,“ So big, cut a piece of meat to eat, it won't die, will it? ”
“Eat... Eat, eat, eat, eat dragons? ”
Vivian felt like he was fainting.
I just thought this little nobleman seemed to be quite nice, and when I looked at him, he turned into a demon again!
Eat dragons, Almighty God! Go around like poor little Vivian! I have never heard of anyone daring to fight a dragon in my life... and still treat it like food!
“No, no, don't eat my sun! No, no, no, don't eat my chirp... Wow... Dad, Mom...” With Dewey's vicious appearance, Vivian made another tear attack.
Dewey was helpless and looked at the weeping little fool and shook her head: “Neither can this, nor can that... Hmm, okay! It's up to you tonight. I'll try to catch fish tomorrow. If we don't catch fish tomorrow, we can't starve to death! If you don't have your own life, don't talk about it! If I can't do anything, I'll have to cut this phantom demon first! ”
At this moment, not only is Vivian crying, but even the fat little phantom demon in the cage can understand the human language, and listening to Dewey's “proclamation” can't help but scare Cerser shivering. A pair of bean-sized eyes looked silly at Dewey, and his fat body shrunk into a bunch of shivering.
After listening to Dewey, Vivian felt a little relieved, but she prayed in her heart...
Almighty God! Bless poor little Vyvyan... let this demon catch a few fish tomorrow... oh no no no no, not poor little Vyvyan craving, just to save his chirping life... uh, if you can, little Vyvyan can not eat fish, uh... or eat less... please Almighty God... but I'm hungry too, Vyvyan would love to eat fish too...
