Law of the Devil

Chapter 34 [Refuge Island] (two chapters in a row)
“What, you mean make a raft out of here?” Joanna frowned and looked at Dewey with suspicion: “Is that a good idea you came up with? Are you going to sail on a raft and take us back to the mainland? You must be crazy! ”
Dewey smiled and said his guess slowly:
“I think it's promising. You, and Vivian, both of you are powerful magicians, and you can fly far with any tool or mount! Am I right? If your magical powers were still here, you'd have left this damn island with wind flying, right? ”
“Of course!” Joanna cold-blooded: "If I could still fly, I'd be gone. ”
“That's the problem.” 'You've lost your magic,' said Dewey. But according to my guess, the reason is not on you, but on this island! I doubt there's anything here that suppresses magic, like boundaries, or the field of inviolability... mostly because of that horrible monster you saw. So… I wonder what the boundaries of this suppression of magic… can be? Does it cover the island tightly, or does it add up to a fraction of the surrounding maritime area? But I think, at least for sure, this range shouldn't be very large. ”
Joanna finally understood, without Dewey continuing to explain, that she had gone on to say, "So you're not going to sail us back to the mainland with a raft. Instead, as long as we draw this forbidden line with this raft, Vivian and I can return to the mainland without the raft. Right?"
“Exactly.” Dewey nodded.
“What if it doesn't work?” Joanna frowned: “What if you're wrong? I mean, it's quite possible that Vivian and I were both struck by magic, and our magic couldn't be restored even if we left the island? Or is it going to take days or even months to recover? We can't fly out of here. With such a small raft, we will surely die in the open sea. ”
“It's just a different way of dying.” Dewey picked the eyebrows: “I can tell you very clearly... if we don't get out of here, two or three days at most, we're going to starve. Although there are many trees on the island, there are few plants that can be eaten by rootstocks. I found this when I was looking for food, and I'm not sure I'll find food tomorrow. ”
“We can fish! ”
“Ha ha!” Dewey laughs: “Fish? Try it! God... yesterday the monster caused the magic wave of the water system, and the earthquake... such a huge movement, even if there were any fish in the sea around the island, it would have scared away already! ”
Though this caution may sound risky, Joanna thought it over and thought that Dewey had a point.
You can only starve to death if you stay, so go out and fight.
The next step is how to build a raft.
What embarrasses everyone is that… you don't have the tools!
Even if you want to cut a tree to make a raft... do you have to have an axe?
Even without an axe, a knife barely works!
But, Dewey, they don't even have a dagger!
Although Joanna is also a samurai, the weapon she uses is a flute!
No tools, cut trees with your bare hands? Dewey, I'm afraid these people don't have that kind of skills.
Even Joanna, a swordsman, didn't have that divine function to break a great tree.
Dewey hit Joanna with the armor at the beginning. After all, the armor is metallic. Just get a piece of iron and grind out the blade, and you can barely use it as a knife.
Unfortunately, Dewey soon disappointed.
Joanna is not stingy with her magic and armor, but her armor is filled with hollow patterns, not even a full piece of iron with a big slap!
But on second thought, Dewey still has a way!
Dragon Scale!
No matter how much he cared about his pet, Vivian agreed to peel off a few dragon scales.
Dragon scales are very sturdy and hard, and even legendary heroes made strong shields out of dragon scales.
Vivian soothed her flame dragon with only a little magic left, and Dewey dared to unravel two dragon scales.
It took another day to find a big rock on the beach, and both of those big dragon scales had a barely sharp knife.
Two more days of work were spent by two women and one man.
Dewey and Joanna cut down several large trees, and Vivian tied the trunks together with vines.
Dewey even made some paddles out of the trunk. He went out looking for something big, like a gourd, which not only holds some fresh water, but also straps it to the raft to increase buoyancy.
Finally, Joanna donated her white cape to make a sail.
When everything was almost done, Vivian suddenly remembered a very important question!
“What about me and my dragon?” Poor little Vivian suddenly remembers such a vital question!
A raft can't hold a dragon!
In fact, Dewey and Joanna have thought about this a long time ago, but have always found it difficult to talk to Vivian.
Vivian's pet dragon, when her magic was normal, could have been sealed with a seal magic to seal the bandage everywhere, just summon it when using it.
Unfortunately, now that she has no magic, she cannot seal the dragon and take it with her.
Dewey and Joanna glanced at each other, and faced with Vivian's pathetic question, they all felt a little hard to answer.
Vivian immediately realized that the little fool had shed tears: "No! I don't want to leave my sun behind!! My sun!! ”
She ran over crying and poured a sleeping dragon on her body, holding her dead.
Dewey sighed and looked at this simple little girl, and Dewey felt a little guilty in her heart.
But what if it doesn't?
They can't take a dragon this big!
Besides, deep down in Dewey's heart… he doesn't think of a dragon as a powerful, great advanced creature like the people of the world.
In Dewey's traditional thinking routine, talent is the most important thing. Dragons, snakes... all fall under the category of “animals”.
Life is the most important thing. If you sacrifice your life for an “animal," it seems foolish to Dewey to be incomprehensible.
And the deeper layer... Hmm, if it wasn't for Vivian's face, he even had the heart to kill the big “animal" and make dry food out of its meat.
But then, I'm afraid Vivian will cry on the spot.
Even though Vivian refused to leave her baby dragon alive, Dewey and Joanna forcibly took her with them.
To Dewey's slight surprise, that fierce woman showed a rare tenderness to her sister this time.
“No wonder.” Joanna was already familiar with Dewey and looked at him and knew what was going on in his head: “I had just lost my dragon, too, and I could feel the sadness of this little guy. ”
Dewey also saw a deep sorrow in Joanna's eyes.
Two girls sat on the raft, and Dewey pushed the raft hard behind him into the sea, and then he flipped over and jumped up, Joanna controlling the sail, and Dewey picked up the oar and paddled it up.
Only poor little Vivian, forcibly brought up by two people to sit on a raft, silently looking at the island behind her with tears... here, and her pet dragon.
The waves are small, which is very lucky.
But Dewey and Joanna were both nervous.
Because both are praying...
I just hope they don't run into that monster in the process! That monster can lurk in the sea and attack a dragon... so if the monster is after them, it's almost easy to turn the raft upside down.
Dewey just wanted a few of his own people to sneak off the island for a while, and then he counted on two magicians to fly.
“God Almighty, bless us...” Joanna muttered.
Hard rowing was too much for a skinny teenager like Dewey, but inspired by the fugitive * * * to survive, he persisted, and despite his soft arms, Dewey was still biting his teeth.
Visually, it's at least 200 meters from the coast.
“How do you feel?” Dewey asked Joanna aloud.
“No, not yet.” Joanna tried to summon a Wind Magic to enhance the role of the Wind Sail, but unfortunately it still didn't work.
“Keep working.” Dewey bites the canal.
But it seems that God in this world is doomed not to bless a heathen like Dewey.
Just as the raft drew another hundred meters...
Suddenly, the sea suddenly started a huge wave! All of a sudden, that horrible roar that once struck me again!
Then, in the frightened eyes of the three, a giant wave about four or five meters high suddenly tumbled up from the calm sea and swept into this little raft with a whistle!
Boom, in the beating of the giant wave, the tree vine on the raft immediately broke apart, the raft split apart, the three fell into the water almost simultaneously...
Dewey felt as if there was a force strangling him at the moment when he fell all over the sea!
He couldn't move his whole body, and just one mouth, a large mouthful of sea water poured in. Dewey thought he was dying, his eyes were dark, and in the sea, a whirlpool wrapped him around and dragged him down quickly...
Dewey felt like she was sinking... sinking...
