The day after Ray arrived in the city of Gilm. We had breakfast and we were ready to go out. Ray was coming to the stables.

"Grr!"

Seto, who saw Ray entering the stables, is joyfully throbbing.

"Did you sleep well last night?

"Gru."

Cheer up, Seto, but as I say, stretch. I grin as I scratch that head with dust.

"Right. So, what do we do today? They have a library here for once, so I'd like to do some research there... are you here, or are you coming with me to the library? Well, you're not going to be able to get inside the library, so I guess you're going to be waiting outside, just like yesterday at the Adventurer's Guild."

To Ray's words, Seto rubbing his head on. He appealed to his whole body to take him with him, too.

"Right."

Ray takes him out of the stables with a grin on Seto's look like that.

I told the drum that I would take Seto out of the stables at breakfast, so I go out on the street with Seto without having to worry about anything in particular.

The moment Seto showed up on the street, people walking down the road just like he did yesterday took a few steps backwards with a stunned look on their face, but whoever screamed and ran away about Ray and Seto in one day yesterday was far less than Ray expected. In other words, several of them fled without even seeing the ornaments that proved to be Tame Monsters or Summoners.

It was the first time the drum had told me at breakfast that the name of the necklace was "The Devil's Neck".

"Gru."

Seeing that reaction around you, Seto rings in the back of his throat. I walk towards the library where the general hears me at breakfast, gently stroking my partner's back like that.

Walk down the boulevard, pass in front of the Adventurer's Guild, and if you have a delicious looking skewered grilled meat in the street, buy it and eat it with Seto and two.... even though I bought 30 skewered roast meats for a few silver coins for the size of Seto and the big meat that doesn't suit Ray's body.

But I guess I saw Ray shopping in bulk that way and decided he was a superior. Or maybe he decided it was safe to look at the obedient devil's necklace, but many came out actively to speak up. If you try to be a merchant, a monster or whatever, I guess the person who spends the money on you is the perception of a customer.

As I walk down the road for a while in such a state of eating and walking, I see the building of purpose that the general taught me. It's a library, although it's said that the Guild is only a borderline city, so the number of books is not that high. But still, this was the only place for Ray to get the knowledge he needed.

"Seto, wait here for me"

"Gru."

As in yesterday's Adventurer Guild, he breaks up with Seto at the evacuation sites of such people as carriages and subpoenas and enters the interior of the library.

"Welcome. Are you sure you want to use the library?

He is heard from the receptionist, just inside the building, approaching him with a nod.

"Oh. It would help if you taught me how to use it"

The receptionist, supposedly in her mid-20s, keeps her words faceless with little change of expression.

"Library usage will be 5 silver coins per day. However, this also includes a security deposit for injuries to the book, so if you have not scratched or defiled the book when you leave the house, you will return 3 pieces of silver coin. Please note that if more than 3 pieces of silver coins are damaged or tarnished, you will also be asked to pay an additional fee for them. If you escape without paying, you will make a request to the Adventurer Alliance to collect it, including a fee for that reward. We sell 10 sheets of paper and a set of pens for 3 copper coins if you need them when you write something down"

Ray frowned slightly when he heard he needed five silver coins, including a security deposit, for use, but pays the price without complaining in particular.

When I was on Earth, Ray lived free access to the library, but that's all books are expensive in this world. It is not uncommon to buy with white or light gold coins if it is also a valuable book.

"Yes, indeed. Please sign this document when you exit the library. There should be no problem if you haven't done something that damages the book. Since we will pay 3 security deposits in exchange for this document. All right, take your time."

Receptionist who gives one document in exchange for silver coins and bows her head with a peck. Even with a bitter smile at the difference between the library usage you know, you go into the place where the book is actually located with that paperwork.

"... I see"

That was the word that leaked out of Ray's mouth when he looked inside the library.

If it's Ray's feeling, it's about the size of a couple of libraries in the school, but there's a regular line of bookshelves about 2m where it should be expressed. A variety of books, large and small, were arranged in it, and several sets of desks and chairs for four were lined up near the counter where the scribe was located.

Ray was watching how it was going, but he gave up looking for the book himself and immediately headed to the counter, where he thought the scribe and spoke to a middle-aged man in his 40s.

"I'm sorry, do you have a minute?

"Yes, what is it"

"I'm looking into a person named Zepile, do you have any books that have anything to do with that?

"Zepile, is it? Wait a minute, please. It's like I've read it somewhere before..."

For a little while, he was the secretary's man trying to remember something, but soon he opens his mouth with a grin.

"Oh, if you think it's a name I heard somewhere, it's a demon name."

"... Demon? What's that noisy name?"

It was Ray listening back unexpectedly to a word that was too unexpected, but the secretary's man asks looking strange the other way around.

"Was that different? But that's all I know about Zeppyre's famous name."

"... is there a book written about that demon for now?

"It's like mythology and gambling, so it should go straight down the aisle and be on the shelf to the right of the end."

"Right. Thanks."

Thank the clerk and move to the location of the bookshelf where he was taught to move several books that may be relevant to the extraction desk.

"Well, I don't know what's coming out"

It seemed like a situation that was coming off quite diagonally with what I expected, but you should still really know what you know about zepiles fused with you. I make that decision and open the pages of the book to read.

Zepyr. It was a person said to have existed thousands of years ago, leading a group of magicians. That's not so special, but all the magicians who led them were said to be among the best in the world at the time, and they also had the power to lead such magicians.

Its power was supposedly a gathering of magicians who could destroy one country instantly, which is why it was treated as a dangerous figure by many countries at the time. It is said that some nations tried their best to make it their own, and to make it obey them, but all their people were extinguished in that day. Someone who extremed witchcraft from the power of its magic. In other words, he became known as the Demon.

……

That, when it comes to excess, Ray holds his forehead unintentionally to excess content. I thought there was some time difference between the knowledge I pulled out and reality, but I still didn't think it would be thousands of years. Hundreds of years, according to Zeppyre's self-declaration. That's actually thousands of years, and nearly ten times that difference Ray could only hold his head.

That said, I can't do anything anymore than I've come to this world. I was forced to convince myself that I had no choice but to live in this world, and to go back to the bookshelf without reading any more books about Zeppyre.

After that, I will read books that are likely to be useful for adventure and books with knowledge that may be useful in this world, even for my spiritual stability.

I read them and understood that one day is 24 hours, roughly one month in 30 days. One year in 12 months and there is little difference from the Earth, or is a week's day the earth, water, fire, wind, and darkness?

However, since the clock is a kind of magic item, what you have is limited to the presence of large merchants, nobles, etc. Then how will the others know the time? It was the sound of bells rang all over the city every three hours, with bells rang six times a day at 6: 00, 9: 00, 12: 00, 15: 00, 18: 00, 21: 00, and the average person roughly knows the time.

Other books that seemed to be necessary to carry on the adventurer, but among them the one that attracted Ray's most interest was the book entitled "The Demonic Demolition Beginner's Edition" itself.

Although it was nice to peel off the water bears somehow, they bought them cheap because the treatment was doodled. You can say that the method of demolition of demons is just a must than living as an adventurer from now on. Having said that, Ray decides to speak to the clerk, who also decides that it will take too long to write all of this book.

"I'm sorry, do you have a minute?

"Yes, what is it"

"Can you imagine buying this book away?

Ray offering a novice edition of demon demolition that said and had. But the clerk who saw it looked sorry and shook his neck to the side.

"I'm sorry. I didn't buy or sell books. If I start, I won't hang up.... Ah, but"

Even as I apologize, I look at the book Ray gave me, and I look up as if I noticed something.

"But?"

"Well, I think the city bookstore did have the same book as this. I saw it about two weeks ago, and I only had one in stock, so I don't know if it's still there."

"No, it helps. Can you tell me where that bookstore is?

"Yes."

I hear the location of the bookstore from the nodding clerk and wonder what I'm going to do.

I would like to read a few more books if I could because in this world I paid quite a bit of money to come in. But I want to buy whatever book is called Beginner's Edition of Demonic Dismantling that the clerk saw in the bookstore. Ray was lost for a while, but the book in the library didn't disappear, so he decided to come back later and signed the documents handed to him at the reception desk. He returned the deposit and left the library behind.

Afterwards I bought the intended book by offering a sizeable sum of money to say one gold coin in a bookstore taught with Seto waiting outside the library. He also went back to the wheat pavilion at dusk to get dressed and buy some fine things.
