Legend

1472 words

For a few more days, the day after I decided to keep an eye on Ajas...... Ray was doing his job as usual.

"Oh, Lord Ray. It's a magic item called Death Size… please show it to me"

"You too, don't punish me. You forgot you were about to be crushed before?

Wizard old man...... Martz screams when he sees Ray using Death Size to even the subtle distortions of the surrounding ground with terrain manipulation.

Ray's words to return to it were a bit of a mix of shady colors.

In fact, Ray, who some days ago asked me to show him the Death Size more firmly, allowed Martz... Death Size weighs about 100kg under normal conditions.

Even a good wizard, physically a normal wizard... could not lift its weight to Martz, who was also only an old man.

Martz wouldn't have thought it was that heavy at first, either, seeing that Ray had a death size with one hand and didn't make him feel its weight at all.

Even when Ray said he was heavy, he had a strong interest in Death Size and assured me he was ok... he succeeded in escaping before being crushed as a result, but still felt like he spent his whole life in Nine Deaths... etc.

Such a maltz has asked me to show Death Size again, so it would be natural for Ray to worry about Maltz.

At first it was Ray who didn't know what to do with Martz, but I knew that there was nothing in Martz about what to do with himself, and I just respected him purely with regard to magic and magic items, so I was starting to deal with him easily.

... although I wasn't very used to being respectful.

"It's okay. Bye. Since the Death Size was previously attempted to be taken directly by the Death Size, please put it on the ground..."

"Well, fine"

Remove the cloth from the misting and lay it on the ground.

Placing the death size on top of it, Martz began to seriously examine the death size.

"I'm telling you, we don't have much time."

"I know!

To Ray's words, Martz answered as he looked at Death Size and began to look seriously into it.

With such a look at Martz sideways, Ray looks around at the surrounding situation.

It's still pretty low, but still the new walls are already starting to spread.

However, it is correct that the craftsmen are working hard to spread it, rather than automatically spreading it.

Still, on the whole, it would still be something like that.

Because it increases the size of the guilds, which were originally quite large, by 50%.

(It's just that big of an architecture, so I guess we need to move on one by one. I hope it's done in a year or so...... is that hard?

Ray's common sense is that expanding the city to 50% more is not very much, but I don't think it will end in a year.

But... this world, Elgin.

It's a magical world.

Unlike the Earth where Ray was, there is no such thing as a heavy machine, but there is magic to make it up to.

It's not as convenient as a heavy machine that can be used by anyone, but it's the ability that even people do things that take time on heavy machines in seconds.

Overall, of course, there are a small number of people who can use it, and if they lose more magic, they cannot use it… There are also aspects that are inferior to heavy machinery.

But the working beasts and dwarves possess powers that are incomparable with the inhabitants of the earth in their vegan state, and so do the adventurers.

Overall, it was Ray's feeling that he was on par with the planet... or that he was winning.

"Hmm?"

Ray, who was watching what was going on around him, notices someone with a bunch of fuzz.

There's no such thing as a bad vibe, so I understand that you're not rubbing it, but why? And I doubt it.

"Martz, I'm just going to see what's going on over there... haven't you heard"

Even as Ray speaks, Martz is concentrating his consciousness on Death Size.

Watching the situation, Ray spoke to the average person hired to do chores, not to be someone like an adventurer.

"I'm going because I'm a little concerned over there, but if Martz returns it to me and I'm not back yet, tell him so"

"Ah, yes. Okay."

He was older than Ray, a man in his twenties or so, but he nods so without any particular backlash.

The man has been working here since he broke down the old wall… that is, since the beginning of the additions, and he has seen up close how much Ray has become a force in this construction.

That's why I couldn't even remember to rebel against Ray's words, and I could honestly nod.

That's how I understand that just because I'm somewhat older doesn't mean anything.

Leaving Martz to such a man, Ray heads to a place where one is gathered a little further away.

If we get closer, we can see how each of the four men and women is discussing something there.

As Ray first felt, there's no reason to be fighting or arguing...

It's just that everyone talks with a serious look on their face.

"What's up? Was there even a place that was jammed with construction?

"Ah... Ray...?

Of the four men and women, two men and two women, one of the women sees Ray and raises her voice.

There was a serious look on the woman's face looking at Ray.

(Maybe there was some kind of fatal flaw in the construction... or something, right?

Construction has already begun.

The new walls had only just begun to be built, but many of them took a long time to calculate, hold meetings, and prepare materials to do so.

Nonetheless, if there were any major flaws in the construction here...... it would cause enormous damage to the guilds, both economically and temporally.

And the construction could also be redone from the beginning in the worst case scenario.

I turned my gaze at that thought, but the woman who had called out to Ray looked like she didn't know what had happened for a moment, but she immediately understood what she had been told.

I shake my head to the side in a hurry.

"No, nothing to do with this construction. Just a little bit about our party..."

The shaking of his head shakes the blue hair that is stretched to the middle of his back.

Sometimes I'm used to seeing Ilse's green hair, and for some reason the word signal inadvertently passes behind Ray's brain.

(The signal is blue, yellow, red... actually, green, yellow, red, right?... I'm in Elgin. Now I can't help thinking about that)

Seeing other faces with that in mind, Ray gives an extra thought to the signal because it was a party between a red-haired man and a yellow-haired man.

"Uh... yeah. Well, I wish it wasn't related to this construction."

Although I was relieved that it had nothing to do with the construction, there was no way I could leave the party alone in this situation right now.

I guess what I talked about was Ray's failure.

Sometimes I usually abandon them, but sometimes they have been polite to Ray at first, which also affects that he was quite fond of them.

It was like a disapproval, but once again Ray opens his mouth looking at the four people in front of him.

"So, what happened? You don't have to tell me what's gonna work out, but you can talk to me as much as you want."

To Ray's words like that, the first blue-haired woman I've talked to opens her mouth to rely on something.

"Well, we call it the Rank D Party Rain of Mercy. But one of the party members suddenly stopped showing up for a few days..."

"He's gone, huh? Without letting anyone know?

"Yes. After work, when I said I was going shopping for a bit and went out of the inn, I stopped coming back. I'm worried about a lot of things because I'm a woman..."

"For once, I ask, did the woman get dictated by some passing man and run away with him... or do you still think she's in some room with that guy?

In Ray's words, the faces of the rain of mercy give a look that doesn't seem interesting to everyone.

On behalf of everyone like that, the woman I've been talking to Ray opens her mouth again.

"She wouldn't do that.... of course there could have been a fateful encounter or something like that..."

"You can't possibly do that to Lusha!

A yellow-haired man screams.

The man's words deserve precisely the momentum of full strength.

The other three make the guy feel painful about how he's doing.

It was obvious from anyone's eyes what emotions this man had for a woman who was gone... that was what was apparent from Ray.

"Then did you get involved in some kind of incident"

"Right. Or it could be that you're doing something to help people. Because Lusha was a good person."

I nod to the woman's words as the other three agree.

"Has that ever happened before?

"Yes."

"... then I don't think you need to worry that much. I thought you were helping people again.

"I hope so.... There are some strange rumors, and I'm a little worried."

"Weird rumors?

"Yeah. Don't you know? I hear more and more people are suddenly gone for anything.... Well, with all these people gathering, it's no wonder they disappear for some reason"

"I guess."

Originally there were quite a few in Gilm, but now the number of them has even increased with the construction of additional buildings.

That's what Ray was gathering here just to see for the first time in the Guild.

(Well, there were more people in the Bestian Empire)

It was a ray that reminds me of the number of people I saw at the martial arts tournament, but now I turn my gaze to the face of the rain of mercy by deciding it's not the time.

"In the first place, where did the rumor come from that people would be gone? I've never heard of it."

Instead of working in one place, it was Ray traveling briefly through many places, but I had never heard of the rumor.

Of course I've never heard of it from a marina or Vihera who eats every night.

Elaine and Arla are basically closed and caged in the marina's house, and Buune can't get into numbers in this case because of the difficulty in communicating his intentions.

"Because it's not a rumor that's so widespread. Rumors close to rumors… should I say"

"A rumor close to a rumor, or an interesting expression. Anyway, what are you guys gonna do now?

"Fortunately, we're only scheduled to finish this morning, so I thought we'd all go look for them in the afternoon"

"Right.... Regardless of the rumors, various guys are coming to Gilm right now. I think some of them have strange things in mind, so you should be careful around them."

"Yes, thank you"

To Ray's words, a blue-haired woman says so and bows her head.

The other three, too, were bowing their heads toward Ray.

I suppose that's what you think if you were supposed to ask Ray to help you.

In fact, Ray's influence is a little something... no, I could say quite something.

But that's why if Ray did an easy hands-on imitation of someone, then it was certain that someone would say so himself.

If the person who is now gone was definitely involved in some sort of incident, I might have asked Ray to do it in that situation as well.

But this is a situation where we don't know anything yet.

Maybe he's having a sweet time at the house of a man who really fell in love at first sight.

... although that would be something I wouldn't want to think about for a yellow-haired man who is in love with Lusha who is no longer there.

I was going to say something to those four, Ray, but in the end I decide that whatever I say here makes no sense.

"Right, okay. What if it was Lusha? If that woman gets into some kind of trouble in earnest, you can talk to the guards or the adventurers looking around the city. Gilm's guards, in particular, are excellent. I'm dealing with an armed adventurer like every day."

Only a little hope floats in the look of the four people who heard Ray's words.

Leaving those four on the spot, Ray returns to those with Martz.

There, Martz was still looking into the death size.

Isn't it strange how excited you are not worthy of your age that you fall as-is... Ray thinks so too.

In fact, some of the others around have been watching out for such malts.

(There's a guy who's going missing...? Even at dinner today, why don't you ask Vihera?... Ajas was involved in something. I'm going to Trent Forest after this, and you want to poke a little bit there)

With that in mind, Ray proceeded to walk under the Death Size.
