"Hmmm... there's not much like that kind of magic item around here"
"Grrrrrrrr"
To Ray's words, Seto makes a sound of shame as he rings.
Site where additional construction work is being carried out in Gilm.
A short distance away, there was still a battle between adventurers and Kobolt.
But Ray doesn't seem to care about it at all, and he examines the site of the additions.
… Nevertheless, there are many types of materials in many places, many of which are covered with a cloth of magic items to protect them from snow.
Although the trees that have been felled from the Trento woods have already been processed as wood after a magical treatment, so for once they are only wearing the appropriate cloth.
The stone is almost wild.
I look around at the kind of gaps in such building materials and see if some kind of magic item is not installed... naturally, but I can't find any kind of clue.
"Seto, please"
Noticing signs of Cobolt approaching him, Ray tells his partner so.
Having heard Ray's words, Seto waves his forefoot big toward Kobolt, who is immediately approaching us.
"Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!"
It was a cobolt that went in without showing any fear when I saw Ceto, but just because I saw Ceto and didn't fear him doesn't mean that the decisive difference in force that exists between Cobolt and Griffon is filled.
Seto's forefoot, swinging toward the cobolt.
The blow lightly smashes Kobolt's neck with a rusty long sword of where he found it from.
… sprinkled with Kobolt blood, body fluids, meat, bones, teeth, and brains all around.
In order to secure the right ear, which would otherwise be a crusade proof site, it is better not to imitate such things as crushing the head.
But that's only the story of those who want crusade proof sites, and if you try to make it a ray or ceto that doesn't want it, there's nothing particularly wrong with it.
Most of all, the Demon Stone is still there, so I guess whoever finds this Kobolt's body in Slam City will be lucky.
"Uh... well, it's a little dirty, but the snow and rain will make it beautiful by spring. And from what I've seen, the ground is just as dirty with blood and stuff, wherever the others are fighting."
Ray, who looked around, saw an adventurer knocking down a goblin with a bunch of sticks.
Some of them are crushing their heads with weapons called Morningstars, chained together with thorny metal spheres.
Compared to them, Kobolt's body that Seto defeated wouldn't be so unusual either. Judging so, Ray heads with Seto to the next suspicious place.
Though stone materials a little further away are stacked in a solid way to avoid collapse, I wonder if that's why I can set up some kind of magic item so that I can't see it from the surroundings.
That's what I thought I was doing...
"Off the hook, well, even if you set up magic items, don't you do this grandiose setup in a place that's easy to find"
It's a rare magic item, like manipulating a cobolt.
That is the certainty that if it breaks, it will not be taken back.
Considering that, it's still like here...... that's what puts us where the battle against Kobolt takes place, it just seems inadvertent.
(In the first place, I wonder how effective the magic items are.... Well, considering we're collecting cobolts extensively from around here, we don't even have to bother to leave them at the construction site)
I thought so, Ray, but intentionally I'll put aside the idea that this isn't a magic item, it's by some other means.
Either way, Ray is currently looking for a magic item like this because it's nearly half free and he didn't take it as a request.
(When that happens, instead of manipulating the cobolt freely, gather it here... a moth-lit magic item? In fact, we're talking about no damage caused by Kobolt in the city of Gilm.)
While making predictions, Ray focuses on his sense of smell, wondering if there are any odors around him… like collecting cobolts.
But the only thing Ray can smell is the smell of Kobolt's blood.
The battle between Kobolt and the Adventurer is still going on around here, so I guess that's natural.
When that happens, Ray doesn't have much means to take.
"Seto, can you find out if there's any odor around here?
"Gru?"
Odor? And a ceto tilting his little neck.
With such a stroke of Seto's head, Ray continues his words.
"That's right. Maybe...... maybe really, but maybe there's something that smells like collecting cobolts. That's the smell that even Ceto can't smell right now."
The five senses, including Seto's sense of smell, are overwhelmingly sharper than Ray's.
It was Ray who tells him that even such a ceto might have a smell that he can't smell, but Ceto has the skill of sharpening his sense of smell, elevated sense of smell.
With that skill, maybe I could smell it, even the smell I can't smell it right now.
Seto is happy to activate his skills at Ray's request.
"Grrrrrrrrrr!"
Seto, sharper than usual, tries to sniff out if there is some smell like collecting cobolts...
"Gru."
It was Seto, who was smelling the smell drifting around him for a few decades, but eventually he rattles his throat at Ray looking sorry.
But Ray strokes Seto's head without looking particularly concerned.
Instead of some kind of confirmation originally, I asked Seto to the extent that I wish it had.
Beyond that, even if Seto could not find something, it was a natural story in a way.
"Don't worry about it. Besides, Seto's actions didn't do anything. Ning Lo, it means a lot to me."
"Gru?"
True? and Seto tilting his neck in an adorable way.
Ray strokes Ceto to prove that what he says is not a lie or a delusion.
It was helpful to Ray to make it clear that Seto's inability to smell anything was not such a magic item as to attract cobolts to this place at all, so he didn't have to look any further in that regard.
While stroking Seto, Ray thinks about what to do next.
The most likely thing was that there was still something to collect the cobolts in this place.
But I can assure you that a magic item that creates the odor of collecting cobolts is not here any more than Ceto's sense of smell couldn't even find it.
No, actually, if it had been here, you wouldn't be able to imitate anything more than you can't find it right now.
"Well, then... you're back in the shake. Starting with goblins, don't affect other monsters, just collect cobolts... if there are other means..."
Looking at Kobolt's body falling to the ground, Ray thinks of a means of collecting Kobolt apart from the smell.
(Kobolt... Kobolt is a monster with such a face as a dog or a wolf. That's why I doubted that I would collect it with a smell... if it wasn't that smell... sound?
What Ray remembered because of the dog was the dog whistle.
I saw it on TV when I was in Japan, but a dog was a substitute for being able to grasp and listen to it firmly, even if it sounded unheard by humans.
I don't think Ray knows that dogs and cobolts are the same, but I'm pretty sure they're similar in that they're dog-based faces.
If so, isn't he manipulating a cobolt with a magic item or something resembling a dog whistle instead of collecting it with a smell?
(Even humans don't hear or hear certain sounds depending on their age. Given that, isn't it strange to have magic items like that......?
With that in mind, Ray's five senses are sharper than normal humans.
Does that not even sound in Ray's ear really make a sound that only Cobolt can hear... or...
"Seto, now it's not the smell, it's the sound. Do you hear any strange noises?
"Grrrrrrrrrr"
To Ray's words, Seto shakes his neck beside him in silence.
If you look at that, it's obvious that there's no particular sound here either.
Or there could be a sound that even Griffon's Ceto can't hear... but Ray wasn't too worried about the area either.
That's why I have so much faith in Seto.
(In the first place, there's no way that Cobolt can hear it and Griffon can't hear it... it's impossible to think normally)
Biologically - a monster, though - there was no reason for Ray to think so, either, just a griffon far above Kobolt.
Besides, just because it's a superficial organism doesn't mean that all abilities are superior, there's no denying the possibility that even if the cobolt can be heard, the sound of Ceto can't be heard is echoing around.
"When you can't even hear the sound... what you can think of besides smell and hearing... taste? No, if you don't taste it in person, that's going to be difficult, and I can't think of anything about tactile. When that happens, what's left is vision? No... but the sight... what do you think?
"Gru?"
I also knew Ray would probably not make sense in this case if I asked Seto, but maybe... I ask him with the thought that maybe it really is.
But it still came back from Ceto, what's wrong? Only ringing like that.
"Is there something that just looks like Cobolt?... Hmm, I wonder. Compared to the smell and sound, I really don't think it's much of a possibility.... and then the next possibility is... what?
A magic item that interferes with the five senses and manipulates the cobolt.
That's what I thought Ray was, but there's actually nothing like it when I look like this.
Whatever you do, it will be difficult to find something, though not very much in the present situation.
"To the spiritual magic of the marina... no, if it's the character of the marina in the first place, I'm probably already checking to see if there's anything suspicious around here, right?
Let's just hear about that area at dinner today.
While I think so. Ray examines the suspicious places one after the other with Seto.
Naturally, such imitation would stand out.
Not to mention, Ray is a griffon anyway. I wouldn't be able to stand out.
Most people don't talk to Seto like that, they do Kobolt's crusade lightly... but naturally, some adventurers are insane.
"Hey, Mr. Ray. What the hell are you doing? Didn't I tell you you were doing the dismantling of Giganto Turtle?
A man with a long sword and about the beginning of his twenties working on a solo speaks that way toward Ray.
That's probably the best reason I wanted to speak up was because I lost my curiosity... but it was also huge that I questioned it when I saw the sight of turning the cloth covered in wood and checking inside.
Speaking up, Ray looks at the man with his face out of the cloth and opens his mouth.
"The dismantling of Giganto Turtle doesn't have to be me. I'll collect what I didn't finish today later, but until then, I'm free."
"... you come all the way here because you're free? For Ray, it's not worth taking down Kobolt."
"Right."
Smudge and Ray snorts at the man's words.
For Ray, a rank B adventurer with an alias, Kobolt is not one who should bother to fight.
If Ray looks like a killer... no, that's what Ceto looks like, then Kobolt is such a weak monster that he escapes at that point.
That's why I didn't understand why Ray would come all the way here if I tried being a man.
Most importantly, I don't think a cobolt can hide in a narrow place like the one Ray was looking at earlier.
I mean, I expect Ray came here looking for something other than Cobolt.
"So? Can I talk to you if you don't mind? Even if it's something Mr. Ray doesn't understand, if I'm the one who's been fighting here for days, maybe I do?
"I think someone is using a magic item to artificially wake up why Kobolt is spreading the attack. So I was just trying to find out if there were any of those magic items."
"... a magic item. I see."
The fact that Ray has a hobby of collecting magic items is quite well known in the Guild.
So the man is also convinced by Ray's words...... in the end, nothing came to mind and the man who satisfied his curiosity returned to the crusade of Kobolt.
