After asking to dismantle the snow monkey, Ray heads with Seto to the guard's stuffing.
Naturally, Granger told me yesterday about the base watch, to ask if there's been any progress.
If there had been any significant progress, Ray would have been contacted through the guild as well.
But that would also mean that, to a lesser extent, it would not be strange to decide that you do not need to bother contacting Ray.
... In fact, purposefully calling Ray through the guild is a burden for the guards, and for the guild, just because there has been a move that doesn't seem particularly important.
In that sense, I guess it's never wrong for Ray to go and hear the report directly from himself in this way.
On my way to the jar, I told the people who saw Seto that I didn't have time to play today... so it took longer than I expected to eventually arrive at the jar because I was in the process of purchasing proper food at the stall.
"Bye, Seto. I'll talk to you a little bit, so don't ask me to stay here."
"Gru!"
I know what Ray said! and throat, Seto lays down on the ground a little further from the stuffing.
Before such a ceto, Ray knocks on the door of the stuffing, placing some of the meatballs he bought from the stall on his way in, sidelining the sight of Ceto happily moving the couch and eating the meatballs.
The door is slammed and the door opens in seconds or so.
"... Ray. Was that one yesterday?
"Oh. I just wanted to ask you a few questions about what happened.... considering they haven't heard from us via the guild, they haven't made that much progress."
Yes, Ray tells him, the guard nods back and prompts Ray to get inside the stuffing station.
The first thing Ray felt when he went inside the stuffing was the small number of guards.
But I guess that's natural. Because we need to turn people around to keep an eye on the enemy's stronghold and their location.
"Like Ray said, so far there's no movement like this in particular"
That's what the guards say, while they give Ray the cup.
Inside the wooden cup is warm water.
It's called white water.
"This is the only way, I'm sorry"
"No, never mind. If it's cold, it'll warm you up enough."
Ray gave it back to the guards that way, but he hasn't felt the cold at all with the functionality of a dragon robe.
Still, to the care of the guards, I carry white water into my mouth without saying no.
(Couldn't you make tea or regular leaves? I think there was persimmon leaf tea or something.... Well, I don't know if there are persimmons in this world. Considering that, I think I can dry the leaves of normal plants for tea. This is a border, and it's not weird to have any special plants or anything)
Even so, I don't know how Ray actually makes tea.
I just feel like I've seen them dried in the heavens and the sun or stir-fry on a TV show.
"So, the base over there, but I see there's no big move, but there's no small move or anything?
"Unfortunately. I think he's pretty careful over there.... naturally."
To the words of the guards, each of the other guards nods back.
In fact, that was a big deal or nothing.
Though Cobolt, he imitated bringing monsters all over the city, so if he was found and caught, the death penalty is certain.
No, Ning Luo, if it's simply capital punishment, is it temper or something?
In the worst case, it can be like repeatedly torturing someone using potion or healing magic to heal them...
"When that happens, what do we do? Even though I am preventing the intrusion of the cobolt with dirt walls, that's not perfect. And by the time I saw it yesterday, I could see a little bit of the adventurer fighting Kobolt."
"The question is how long that dirt wall will hold, right? Ray ran into Granger and the others yesterday, so there was no particular problem, but there must be another guy named Ex-Red Cloth, right? I don't know exactly how much remains."
"Is it hard to do people that way?"
"Oh. If you imitate things like keeping an eye on dirt walls, that's the first thing you're going to do to fight Cobolt, who's managed to get over dirt walls. We guards are basically good at fighting people, but we're not that good at fighting monsters."
That was only natural given the work of the guards.
Essentially, the opponents the guards should fight are drunk and violent all over the city or something like someone who committed some kind of crime.
There is combat training for such opponents, but if it becomes a monster, the story will be different again.
... Of course, there are demons, and if the monsters get wrapped up and attack the guilds, the guards will have to fight the monsters... but the people they usually fight are still people.
Most of all, there are different kinds of people, like humans, elves, dwarves, and beasts.
"When you do, are you an adventurer? If they're happy to crusade Kobolt, they'll be happy to watch the dirt walls, surprisingly."
Another guard who was in the room says so, but Ray shakes his neck to the side.
"If you're the kind of guy who'd love to fight Kobolt, that's what you want to fight Kobolt for more, and you could break the dirt wall. It's not such an easy dirt wall to break, but I still want to avoid the danger as much as I can"
Most of all, it is made quite robust by email and marina spiritual magic.
That is why those who only have the strength to fight Kobolt try to break it, but they cannot do so easily.
"Really? But I still can't send people from the guards. When that happens, the dirt walls can only be left alone, but is that okay?
"Uh... right. Ask around the marina if there's anything you can do with spiritual magic."
The breadth of the Spirit Magic application used by the Marina is clearly something special even when Ray looks at it.
Nevertheless, that is not because spiritual magic is so liberal.
It was only a high degree of applicability because it was the marina that was using it.
(Marina's house is protected by the Spirit when there is no marina, and if a stranger tries to break in, stop it.... on the contrary, imitating things like catching or, in some cases, attacking. So we can do the same thing against dirt walls?
Yeah, Ray thinks about it, and even at dinner today, he thinks about suggesting it to the marina.
"Guild Master...... no, former Guild Master. To be honest, I think you're honest with someone like that."
As one of the guards who was listening to Ray was impressed toward Ray... at the same time turning a strong envious gaze.
For those who live in the Guild, there are many who admire the name Marina, and many who feel it is the flower of the high ridge.
But those who can dictate marinas in the true sense are very greedy.
Sometimes the person's abilities are very high, plus its beauty. It wasn't just a beauty, either, but a beauty bearer with an intense woman's luster was the marina.
Anyone who can invite that hand just to the marina that can be said to be too perfect in a way… are you more confident in your power or something that you don't understand?
All in all, it was surprising to many that only such a person, a marina, had Ray partying with that marina, not to mention eating like every night at that marina's house.
Not to mention what the gaze that the marina is pointing at Ray means, which is easy to guess if you are a bit of a grim person with regard to romantic shakedown.
"Um, well, I know Marina's a lot of awesome guys, but if we're together, she's a normal woman."
It was even unusual in a way to be able to call Marina a normal woman here...... hatred and nothing like the person noticing it.
"Stop it. Ray's the one who keeps the same beauty as Mr. Marina, isn't he? That doesn't make any sense."
"... no, what about the expression I'm letting you samurai"
From the side, I deserve the expression that I'm letting him serve me, but as Ray himself, I don't intend to.
That's why I expressed my dissatisfaction, but the guards just turn their gaze at Ray's words like that.
With such a gaze on, Ray accepts that his situation on this occasion is unfavourable and off topic.
"So you've never figured anything out at the base of the enemy you're keeping an eye on? That's who owns that building or something."
"Oh, I looked into that. But... hatred and the fact that he's not in the Guild right now. You don't even know if he knows that. That could mean that the owner knows he's not in the Guild right now and is based without permission."
"... unauthorized, huh? If you imitate like that, I'm sure you'll be out in no time. Either way, can I ask who owns that building? Oh, of course, if I can tell you."
"I don't mind that. Owning that building is the royalist aristocrat Viscount Cobbs."
It was Ray who was told the Viscount Cobbs family and thought about if it sounded familiar, but it was a name I didn't remember hearing as raw hatred.
Originally, Ray wasn't that close to a nobleman, so naturally, too.
However, I know some of the big nobles, starting with Dusker.
"That's a name I don't know."
"Well, I guess so. It's not that famous nobility, it's not that he was the head of the Viscount Cobbs family in the first place, he was someone of his kin."
Apart from the neutrals led by Dusker, the aristocratic neighborhood in Gilm houses royalist and aristocratic mansions.
But naturally, a different faction... if you say so, there is no reason for the Lord himself to live in the ranks of an opponent equal to hostile.
Since the primary purpose is to gather information on the Neutralists, anyone with some ability may... The Viscount Cobbs family in Gilm were also relatives of the Lord.
"He said he was a Kingslayer, but exactly how much status is he in? The Kings I know, that's about the Duke of Quent."
To be precise, it is right that he is not close to the Duke of Quent, but to his granddaughter, Marca Quent.
I also face-to-face with some royalist nobles on that edge... could there be anyone in there who was involved with the Viscount Cobbs family? The guard shakes his head to the side to question Ray.
"No, no, no, the Viscount Coves is not that big a house as its title is the Viscount House"
"... if it's not a big house, I don't think that's the way you're going to plan something big like this one. When that happens, does that mean someone else is using that building on their own? Was it the Viscount Cobbs family in the first place? Even if there's no one being seconded from there, isn't there someone involved in it or something?
"No, there's nobody there. That's why everyone, including the servants, is out by the time the construction of the Gilm's addition begins. The reason seems to be that a large number of strangers are likely to come to Gilm and become insecure as a result of the construction work."
I can't deny that.
In fact, a lot of people came to Gilm looking for work on the additions, even without being an adventurer.
And, naturally, if that many people get together, there's also a mix of people with bad bare lines.
In fact, it couldn't be helped just by the way the guards looked around, because they even hired adventurers to maintain law and order.
Speaking of Ray's acquaintances, Vihera and Buune were in the work of that hand.
Even in such circumstances, that was why the problem was so varied that there were several other people besides the Viscount Cobbs who acted anxiously to leave the Guild.
With that in mind, Ray couldn't deny the reason the guards spoke either.
"When that happens, can I assume that the Viscount Cobbs family is not involved in this one?
"I don't know. I don't know exactly about that area. Probably not involved..."
Ray wondered how to react to the words of the guard who told him so.
