1980 Stories

Shop appropriately in the stalls as you walk around the gilm with Seto.

Seeing how things were all over the city while doing so, I should still say, there were a lot of people talking about one thing yesterday.

That's how massively we moved the guards and adventurers, so there's no way we can hide it through.

Ray knew that too, and most importantly, when we dismantled Giganto Turtle in the morning, we saw a lot of people around us talking about it.

"Hmm... I just wanted to know a little more about other rumors and stuff if I could.... don't you think?

"Gru?"

Bought meat from a stall...... I use oak meat, so when Ray asks Seto, who goes next to him while eating the dish he should say, Seto tilts his neck every time he says he doesn't know what Ray is talking about.

Also, I naturally ate Seto, the meat that Ray was eating.

That's what Ray is against two, and Seto has nearly ten of them tucked in its belly.

"There's a rumor.... With that said, now, really now, but Seto worked pretty hard yesterday, too."

"Grrrrrrrrrr!"

To Ray's words, Seto rings his throat with joy.

According to what Ray heard, Seto caught nearly ten opponents escaping the mansion yesterday.

Only the person who escaped by stealing the eyes of the guards and adventurers would most likely have escaped had it not been for Seto.

... I guess I had some problems with where I was going to escape from the mansion.

"Well done.... See, do you still want this?

I eat about half of it, but offer the meatballs still standing in the hot air in front of Seto.

Seto, okay? I point my gaze at Ray, such as, and make sure Ray nodded that he was okay, and I stretch the couch over the flesh.

The appearance of one and one thus touching is everyday in the Guild, while at the same time it is a sight that many see and the mind soothes.

Some of them came along the way to stroke Seto, but no one was going to see how Seto was doing or say they were going to play.

Exactly what the word peaceful sight deserved, but Ray hasn't been able to enjoy it in peace.

Because we know that tentacles still exist in underground space.

Ray had such certainty that if those tentacles were to come out on the ground to some kind of clap, Gilm would definitely panic.

Thinking about it, I still can't imitate relief from the bottom of my mind.

(Um, I knew I should have ignored Langa's instructions. But I should have knocked my tentacles out on that spot? But Langa's right, if you knocked your tentacles down poorly over there, there's a chance the damage spread extra)

The fight against the tentacles ended on instructions from Langa, but I regret that even more now.

Nevertheless, it was only then that I decided that Langa's opinion made sense that I retired heavily.

"Ray! Hey, Ray! Just give me a minute! Ray!"

Walking around thinking about yesterday, I inadvertently hear voices like that.

Ray, who turned his gaze toward the one who spoke, saw the guard running toward him for some reason in a hurry.

The way it makes you feel desperate somewhere, maybe something went wrong again? I think...... as far as the guard's face goes, he's in a hurry but he doesn't look stuck with his feathers.

That's why Ray doesn't panic about such a guard, he waits.

"Ha, ha, ha.... I finally found you."

"With me and Seto, I don't think it's hard to find them.... So, what's going on?

Being with Seto was a classic Ray, but if so, it is very noticeable even as you walk around the city as you deserve.

If you think about the behavior of people walking around that area, no Ray or Seto, if you ask them if they didn't see Seto in the stalls, you'll soon know where Ray is.

"I guess. That's why I found it, too. … so. Captain Langa just returned from a meeting at the Lords' Hall, and he wants you to come because he needs to talk to Ray there."

"Well, that's unusual."

Ray squeaks, looking just a little surprised.

Given Ranga's character, if Ray had anything to say, it was because he would have visited Ray himself directly without imitating him like he was calling.

But I hear that Ray's attitude wasn't very interesting to the guards.

"You can't help it. Captain Langa has a lot of paperwork to process in one case yesterday. Besides, we've been having meetings in the Lords' Hall since yesterday, haven't we?

"Uh... yeah. Bad. I said a little too much, too. I just thought it was a little unusual, and I didn't mean to blame Langa for anything, so don't worry about it."

Guards, is that true? Though I pointed my gaze at Ray, such as, eventually, I quickly regain my mind.

"I get it. It's just that Captain Langa seemed really tired. Your wife was worried."

"... Huh? Were you married to Langa?

I would say that to an unexpected word, but if you think about it, Langa has a gentle personality and is the person in the position of captain of the guard.

Faces are powerful on the strong side, but the neighborhood will do whatever it wants.

If that's what you think, there was no doubt that Langa was a bargain property for a woman.

(No, if you say so, I remember hearing that before.... Well, I don't know if Langa was the captain of the guard when she got married)

I may not really feel it because I frequent the city gatekeepers, but the captain of the guard is... and the captain of Gilm's guard on the border is a pretty important position.

That's why it's unlikely that Langa was able to take that position when she was younger.

... I can assure you that you can't get in anywhere but the border first, but I guess that could be a possibility because Gilm is at the edge of the border.

"Oh, he's a pretty good guy. He brings plugs and stuff frequently. I guess that's what people say about being healed just by watching."

I was Ray looking at the guard telling me that with a smile on his face, but after about thirty seconds, he doesn't look like he's coming back, so I shake him gently.

"Hey, come back here. I know what you're trying to say for now, so I'm just gonna go where Langa is. But even Langa's busy, right? Then you can't stay here forever."

"Hmm? Yeah, if you say so, you did.... Yeah, right. Then let's go. Look, let's go."

Ray had a few thoughts about the attitude of the guard, but decided he couldn't go on forever as he was, and walked out with the guard.

"Nevertheless, has Langa really been having meetings since last night?... after all, is one of those underground spaces the reason?

"I think so. I haven't heard much about it either. Naturally, there were a lot of other things to meet about, but I guess it's the most underground space.... Honestly, I'm interested in how you created this kind of underground space so that everyone else wouldn't notice."

From that tone of voice, maybe this guard is the guy who's actually been in that underground space.

Ray nods as he is convinced, judging so.

"I definitely used magic or something like that, I think.... Normally, if there was such a huge space in the basement, it wouldn't be strange if the mansion built above collapsed."

With those words, you imagined that the mansion around that area would wrap up and collapse, with a serious look on the face of the guard.

Ray speaks up so as to encourage such guards.

"Don't worry. Like I said now, magic is likely to have something to do with that underground space. That's why there's no such thing as a collapse in the current situation."

Even though I say, for a moment...... really for a moment, I even wonder if maybe that underground space is being maintained as it is because that tentacle has something to do with it.

(So, hey. In that case, if you knock down that tentacle... in some cases, could that make the magical effect disappear and cause the mansion around there to collapse?

You might want to hear more about that area than you're about to meet Langa.

With that in mind, Ray goes along with Seto and the guards...... eventually he arrives at the stuffing where Ray comes for the first time.

Just because it's my first place to come, of course, doesn't mean I've never seen this stuffing.

I have naturally seen it many times before than it is a stuffing block that exists in the Guild, but this was the first time I had ever visited it in person.

A guard in front of the stuffing points his gaze at Ray, Seto, with his own colleague, but does nothing but bow his head small to see if he has an oligarchy personality.

The guards who come to call Ray are also used to such an opponent's attitude and go inside the stuffing without looking particularly concerned.

Tell Seto to stay on the stuffing side as usual, then Ray goes inside the building.

Among its relatively large stuffs, many guards seem to be busy doing a lot of work on one of yesterday's forced investigations as well.

"Ray, over here"

In the meantime, Ray is taken with the guards in the back of the building... in front of a room like the one where the greats are.

It's not like a luxurious door, like Dusker's office.

"Excuse me, Captain Langa. I brought Ray."

"Oh, I don't mind if you come in"

A voice is heard from inside the room when the guards knock.

The guard who hears it prompts Ray to open the door and go inside.

So while you're at it, see that you don't try to get inside, okay? The thought comes to mind in Ray for a moment, but especially when he sees nothing reacting, he goes inside the office saying anything more would be pointless.

"You're tired."

That was the first word Ray whined about entering the room.

In fact, a lot of paperwork on the desk doesn't go as far as to be a mountain… but there is still a considerable amount of it.

Langa, who handles it, was clearly weary on his face compared to what he usually looks like.

But Ray looks at a langa like that and wonders.

I've been in meetings all night, so I guess it's only natural to get tired.

But if you say so, that's all.

More than in his duties as captain of the guard, Ranga had no doubt done so, even if he had never stayed up all night frequently...

The question of why Langa is so tired came out of Ray's mouth.

Having heard Ray's words, Langa exhales deeply and loudly.

"That's tiring. To be honest, I didn't expect evidence of a crime to come up that far in yesterday's mandatory investigation. Something like a few times what I initially expected. Thanks to you, I need to root for things like that. Besides, there was a meeting about the underground space."

When he signs the paperwork he was reading and then leans over to the edge, Langa turns her gaze to Ray again.

The force caged in that gaze clearly showed that I had some business and called Ray here.

Of course, Ray knew he had some business to do at the time he was called here, but he's half convinced that the business is beyond Ray's expectations.

"So? You mean you called me on purpose, something happened, right? Can I ask you that?

"Yeah, it's about that underground space."

"... Specifically?

"The underground space shall remain intact for a while. Also, if we don't give anything from here, we will sacrifice because the tentacles of the underground space could burst out of the underground space."

"Sacrifice?

I guess I made sure Ray frowned slightly at the words. Langa opens her mouth again before Ray says anything.

"Sacrifice is for those who are caught committing crimes in the Guild. Only those whose execution has been confirmed."

To Langa's words, Ray closes the mouth he tries to open.

If this meant sacrificing ordinary people with no sin whatsoever, Ray would have also expressed his dissatisfaction with Langa.

However, if the offender, who is also to be executed, is to be sacrificed, there is no particular objection, even as Ray.

If you ask me if it's unpleasant, of course I have unpleasant feelings.

And instead of saying dissatisfaction about sacrifice, ask another thing.

"So, sacrificing means Cobolt's still coming out.... How long?

"As soon as I can, I'll do something about it. So until then, I want you to do your best as you are for a while now. Also, maybe... really maybe, but could you also consider the possibility that monsters other than Cobolt will come out"

Ray snorted reluctantly at Langa's words.
