Legend

1990 Stories

What the hell should I describe it as?

In a nutshell, that's alien and I guess it's right to call it that.

For example, goblins, cobolts, oaks.

They look like they deserve to be called human for once.

Or wolves, pigs, birds, snakes, etc.

A monster based on animals looked familiar enough to Ray as well.

Of course, many of those odd monsters seem to have no idea what that original shape was.

Still, the Lord of Tentacles, who is now ahead of Ray's gaze, looks very, but unacceptable.

That's a huge eyeball.

And from the perimeter of the eyeballs, countless tentacles… the pink tentacles are stretched out countlessly, which is so familiar that Ray doesn't like them either.

It's not like there's a lid, only the part that really calls the eyeball is floating in the air, like the optic nerve, and something that even looks like a tail is stretching from behind the eyeball.

Above all, the weirdest thing would be its size.

That eyeball floating in the air, that's what Ray looks like all the time, but it's such a huge eyeball, like it's over ten meters in diameter.

Not to mention the myriad tentacles growing around it, so I guess it's natural that the faces of the three Elainers who saw it were distorted in disgust.

No, in the sense that it was distorted by disgust, Ray and Seto have similar thoughts.

To be honest, the person you deserve so much physiological disgust, not very much but not wanting to touch it with your own hands.

That's weird.

Looking at such eyeballs, Ray questions.

Ray has fought various monsters so far.

In that sense, that's not the one time or twice that I fought a disgusting existence.

If so, why is it such a disgust only to this eyeball?

Of course I understand that they are enough people to have that kind of emotion, but if you still see it on a part by part basis, even if you think it's disgusting, it's not enough to be disgusted so far.

But when you look at the whole picture of eyeballs, you suddenly feel sick for some reason.

Its eyeballs look around in such a way that it is bewildered that it was suddenly thrown out into this world.

There is no way that he cares at all about it when he says that until earlier he was extensively beaten into the magic of the flames by Ray and that he was created one tentacle after another that was stretching out of his body.

... In the first place, there was no part of the tentacles growing out of the eyeballs that was gone, growing tentacles from all over the body.

Traces of the tentacles Ray burned, nowhere.

"What do we do? I thought the Lord of the Tentacles was coming out, but it was a little surprising that he was even like that."

It was Vihera who gave Ray's words the most unpleasant look.

Naturally. Basically, the way Vihella attacks is more than a fight. When it comes to fighting that eyeball, you need to touch that body directly.

Although Vihera preferred to fight strong enemies, touching the eyeballs that stirred her physiological aversion had a strong sense of resistance.

Most of all, if Vihela were to attack the eyeballs more than the eyeballs were floating in the air, it would have been necessary for Vihela to go up to the air or slap the eyeballs off to the ground somehow.

In that regard, because Elaine and Marina have the means to attack from a distance, and even if they have an aversion to eyeballs, they are not as strong as Vihella.

"Right. I just want to magically clean it up if I can...... Ray, Elaine, is that okay? It's bad for Vihera."

"... in the meantime, I can't get my hands on it when I can stay in the air like that, so it would help if you let me down on the ground"

I guess that's what Vihera said back in Marina's words, even half-witted.

Anyway, no one disagrees with Marina's words about magically attacking... the moment Marina tries to confirm it and say something, the eyeballs that were floating in the air make an unexpectedly huge voice.

"Go-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o!"

That's on Ray listening to where the hell he's coming from... and I don't know any other faces.

Tentacles grow from the periphery of the eyeballs, and all else is the tail, which also looks like the optic nerve.

Because there is no such thing as a vocal cord, it should not have been possible to speak...

Most importantly, it is not surprising that the other person is not a person and, in some cases, even out of the definition of a monster in this Elgin.

More than that, it wasn't strange that Ray's common sense didn't work.

... and Ray didn't even know how he was speaking, but that voice sounded familiar to Ray as well.

It's the voice heard by Ray's blow when he fought in underground space during a forced investigation.

I used to hear that voice multiply, but not now.

Is it because it's outside, not underground space, or because the eyeballs aren't on the other side of the space rift, they're in this world?

It's just that what Ray found out when he heard his current voice was there.

"I see. That disgust with eyeballs doesn't really mean you think that way or anything, it's because of some magic or skill that we say in this world"

Yes, the moment I heard the voice now, Ray's disgust with the eyeballs clearly increased.

That wasn't just Ray, Elaine and the others...... and even Seto seemed equally more averse to eyeballs.

"Right. … that's what makes me want to take it out of my sight, even like that"

Disgustingly, Marina agrees with Ray on things like really disgusting.

"Give me something I wish you would attack me directly.... imitate disgusting. What are you gonna do in the first place, incite our disgust like this?

Elaine's words were also the same questions that others, including Ray, had.

In the first place, if you're the kind of person you're intimate with, there will also be people out there who hesitate to attack.

Whether you can actually do it or not, it's the same thing that many hesitate to do when Seto tells you to attack in Gilm.

But if what you're holding is disgust, not intimacy, then there's no hesitation in making an attack.

No, it's not strange to attack Ninglo aggressively.

If so, what did the eyeballs think and imitate it like that... yes the moment Ray thought it, the eyeballs moved unexpectedly and pointed their gaze at the Rays.

"Huh!? Avoid it!"

Shit.

Having determined so reflexively, Ray leaps off the spot screaming.

Fortunately, everyone on this occasion had the ability to react only to Ray's euphemisms.

Everyone responds to Ray's cry and moves off the spot without getting lost over things like what happened.

At the next moment, purple electricity pierces where the Rays were.

I wondered if it glowed for a moment, its purple electricity emitted at the same time... the thunder emitted from the eyeballs burns black where the Rays were.

"Are you all right!?

Ray, who had a bad feeling and moved reflexively, screams sharply as he sees his eyeballs still drifting in the air.

"I have no problem!

"It's all right over here!

"As well!"

"Gru!"

Elaine, Marina, Vihera, Seto.

Ray is relieved to hear from the three of them and one of them that there is no problem, while for some reason he stares at the huge eyeballs who are not going to do the next thing after a thunderous blow.

(Why? Given the current situation, even if you let go of the pursuit... no, why did you attack us all of a sudden in the first place? It was before that...)

Having thought of it that way, Ray remembers not knowing if the earlier skill...... but having had more disgust than ever since the squeal sounded and then the eyeballs.

(I mean, is that why that eyeball somehow perceived its disgust with itself and reacted to it and released that thunder?...... annoying)

Ray's frustration with that nasty way of attacking increases as he stares at the eyeballs that are floating in the air.

If you've just been attacking normally, there's a way to avoid it.

It would not always be possible because things like avoiding the blow of lightning emitted by the eyeballs could actually be done.

But when it comes to having the skills to stir up that disgust there, it's really a step... or a step and a half, and I'm late for my next move.

There is nothing to say about that extent if it were meant to be, but in dealing with such eyeballs, disgust is by no means something to underestimate.

You will have already noticed what Ray naturally noticed, beyond having other facets of first-class or more prowess.

Still, maybe Ray didn't have the option of not mouthing it more than just in case it was possible.

"Be careful! You can look at that eyeball as perceiving enemies with skills that increase your aversion to yourself earlier. Anyway, attack that eyeball... Shit, now you're tentacles!

Did you understand that you had been dodged lightning, or did you hear Ray scream?

Either way, the eyeballs that were floating in the air stretched the tentacles that were growing from all over the body towards the Rays simultaneously.

The myriad tentacles stretching from the eyeballs would not have arrived from their length to where the Rays were.

But it would naturally be as if they were originally in a rift in space, and the common sense of the Rays doesn't make sense.

The tentacles, which should not have arrived, stretch straight to where the rays are.

That's also because the eyeballs are in this space, and the tentacle speed is a few steps up compared to when you're in the underground space.

"So I won't let you do what you want!

Ray screams as he slashes and rips the tentacles coming at him with a death-size through magic.

Just like when I fought in the underground space...... no, it may be my fault, but while I feel more resistance than that, I still sever my tentacles at death size.

The severed tentacles naturally, when they fell to the ground, became dust and disappeared, as they did when they were in underground space or when they burned earlier.

Countless...... that's what strikes the tentacles from every place forward, using Death Size and Dusk Spears, slashing, slashing, slashing.

Turning his gaze around while doing so, there the three of them and one of them, like Elaine, Marina, Vihera and Seto, were overwhelmed with countless tentacles against their opponents, just like Ray.

(Though...)

Soon he returns his gaze to the tentacles coming at him again, pruning nearly ten tentacles with a death-size blow, while Ray decides that he will eventually be pushed off in quantity as he stands.

I'm overwhelmed now, and everyone here, including Ray, has very high health as an adventurer.

But even with high health, it's not like it's infinite health.

Still, there's plenty more room until your health is completely depleted than obviously above normal adventurers.

Before such a time limit, I need to do something about my eyeballs...

"Out of the way!

Even if you use magic, you really need some chanting of the spell to burn it by wrapping the tentacles that are stretching out of your eyeballs.

Of course there are spells that can be used in short chants, but the magic of that hand really narrows the power and range of effects.

Then you'll need a temporal respite to use magic on me, Elaine, or the marina.

The tentacles that strike at once from both sides, left and right, are cut at once with death-size and dusk spears in both hands by swiftly rotating on the spot.

But even if it was cut off like that, the eyeballs floating in the air didn't seem to bother me at all, and it's stretched countless times... or the newly stretched tentacles stretching toward the rays one after the other.

"Flying slaughter!

From the heavily wielded death size, the slaughter flies.

Ray waves Death Size again as he sees his tentacles wrapped up and cut off.

"Power slash!

What continued to wield was a blow that increased the power of one blow.

Nearly ten tentacles are rounded up and cut by the death size and pulled a thousand times.

"Here you go, take this... eat!

Using the momentum that wielded the power slash forcefully with one hand, he threw the spear of dusk, albeit half forcefully, on his left hand.

Momentarily, but with plenty of magic, the spear thrusts toward the eyeballs that are straight in the air… but the moment Ray releases the spear, the tentacles that were hitherto attacking Ray and Elaine and the others are instantly pulled back into the hand of the eyeballs, overlapping many times as shields to prevent the spear of dusk.

Given the speed at which the spear of dusk flies, it can be said that the act was carried out exactly in an instant.

Ray also knows in underground space that spear throwing is effective.

But I'm pretty sure that's a totally unexpected consequence for Ray, too, that the eyeballs will react so far.

For a few seconds, while flashing… knowing that this was a great opportunity, Ray did not imitate this opportunity and moved on to action.
