The journey wasn’t always smooth; especially the stretch from Litang to Daocheng was an unpaved road where several cars had broken down. Li Younan got out to help repair them.

During this time, there was also a young woman traveling by camper van who struggled even with the basic task of changing a tire.

As a warm-hearted person, Li Younan earnestly advised her to turn back after helping her change the tire.

However, his advice was opposed by Liu Li.

She earnestly advised, "Everyone has their own choices and must be responsible for them. You’re a warm person, but that warmth shouldn’t be spread endlessly. That would be exhausting; you’re not the sun with limitless sunshine and heat."

Li Younan was somewhat speechless after hearing this.

Liu Li entirely considered things from his perspective, and this heartfelt concern warmed his heart.

However, he didn’t really regret helping that girl just now.

She was quite a pretty girl, only 23 years old, yet had the courage to drive a camper van to Tibet. Indeed, that’s gutsy, but also risky.

Young people are always like this, easily blinded by "poetry and faraway places," rushing forward without realizing the dangers they might encounter along the way.

It’s best if luck favors them without incident, but if something does happen, the consequences can be unbearably heavy.

Regarding the weather, it’s transitioned from March to April, but due to the altitude, rain and snow are still encountered. Especially while passing Kala Mountain, at an elevation of over 4,700 meters, snow falls year-round, making that road quite challenging to drive.

Yet once these experiences are past, they become pleasing footnotes in memory.

After departing from Litang, it marked the beginning of the second stage of the 318 Journey—Eastern Tibet Canyon Wonders.

In this stage, the place Li Younan most anticipated was Ranwu Lake within Changdu’s territory.

In April, the water of Ranwu Lake is extremely clear.

Li Younan had done some research, noting how some online had photographed Ranwu Lake with yellowish water, which is due to timing. After June, the water isn’t as clear and blue.

Counting their arrival at Ranwu Lake, it was just around mid-April... the most beautiful time for Ranwu Lake.

Before reaching Ranwu Lake, they would pass by Bangda Grassland, the seventy-two turns of Nu River, Nu River Grand Canyon, and other scenic spots.

The anticipation for Ranwu Lake stemmed from recalling a previous experience in Canada; in comparison, Ranwu Lake is a higher-altitude lakeside.

Li Younan thought of finding a suitable camping spot by Ranwu Lake and planned to stay by the lake for about ten days.

He shared this idea with Liu Li, who simply bowed her head and said, "Okay, I’ll go along with you."

However, before reaching Ranwu Lake, there was quite a long way to go.

What resources are most abundant in the area from Western Sichuan to Eastern Tibet?

Some might say it’s hydropower resources because the high terrain naturally generates immense water flow potential, hence there are many hydropower stations along the way.

But in terms of tourism, aside from the scenery brought by such landforms, an especially attention-grabbing resource is geothermal.

Batang is the last stop before entering Tibet, and occasionally along the way, Li Younan would drive off into niche off-road paths. In some unknown mountain valleys, the heat, steam from hot springs even turned the roads slippery.

This abundance of hot spring resources naturally intrigued him; finding a real hot spring to soak in would surely be a great experience.

After the car reached Batang County, Li Younan drove into the town to replenish supplies.

It’s worth mentioning that Batang was the most impressive town Li Younan had seen since entering Western Sichuan, with the city being quite large and more spacious compared to previous counties they’ve stayed in.

The land indeed was fertile; Batang County is known as the hometown of fruits, the hometown of Xianzi music, and is a pivotal point on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway.

Liu Li read out some information she found online, saying, "I heard this is also an important post on the Tea Horse Ancient Road!"

Historically, places that could serve as posts often had convenient transportation, favorable terrain for building, so it’s unsurprising that Batang County has developed so well.

What surprised Li Younan more was, as the last stop in Western Sichuan and first in Tibet, even though it was far from the Sichuan East economic zone, there was a line of foot massage parlor girls promoting by dancing along the street. Their figures and looks were quite attractive.

Li Younan’s gaze was drawn, then he heard Liu Li giggling, saying, "Do you want a massage?"

Li Younan pulled back his gaze, frankly saying, "After driving for so long, I do want a massage."

The words naturally followed Liu Li’s, steering the topic to him wanting a massage, avoiding any misunderstanding from Liu Li about watching the girls... preserving his bright and upright image.
