The surrounding sand was drawn toward the ritual diagram as though pulled by a powerful magnet, forming a dome around it.

When smoke began seeping from within, Daniel was ready with the spare towel and fanned it away, making sure it didn’t rise high enough to attract unnecessary attention.

Once the smoke had cleared, he picked up the doll, slipped it into his pouch, and returned to the well as though nothing had happened.

"Hmm~ Hmm~ Hm~" Daniel hummed to himself.

Even if someone had arrived at the last moment, he was already prepared with the excuse that he had simply stepped into the bushes to relieve himself.

Fortunately, no one came to the well.

They were too busy training.

Anyway, setting his towel aside, Daniel washed himself thoroughly, scrubbing away the sweat and rinsing every part of his body until he felt clean and refreshed.

But one thing caught his attention.

His right arm still hadn’t stopped trembling from the backlash.

*Splash. Splash. Splash*

As he bathed, dark gray clouds rolled across the sky, swallowing the sunlight and casting a broad shadow over the training grounds.

Daniel, however, paid them no attention. After changing into a fresh set of clothes, he stepped out of the building once more.

Only to be stopped by Marco.

"Where do you think you’re going?"

"Just outside for a bit, Master," Daniel said. "I’ll be back soon."

Marco paused for a moment, silently studying him before nodding his head in approval.

With that, Daniel left the training grounds and made his way into the town center. With so much free time on his hands, there was only one place he wanted to go.

Cinderela’s house.

A mischievous smile spread across his face as he walked toward the residential district.

...

*Knock. Knock. Knock.*

The young man from earlier opened the door.

"Yes, mister?"

"Is your mother home?" Daniel asked with a neutral expression.

"No. My mom left for work. She’ll be home in the evening," the young man replied.

Work?

Daniel frowned, knowing Cinderela hadn’t reported to work at the training grounds today, so where had she gone?

"Oh, okay."

With nothing else to do, Daniel turned and left the house. Instead of returning to the training grounds, he wandered through Cinder Town.

*Sniff~ Sniff~*

A familiar scent drifted into his nose, drawing his attention toward the marketplace. A smell so familiar that he instinctively turned in its direction.

A small crowd had gathered around a food stall. Steam rose from the bamboo steamers at the front as a group of customers eagerly waited for their turn.

Curious, Daniel walked over.

"What are you selling, sir?" he asked.

The stall owner greeted him with a smile. "It’s minced meat wrapped in a thin dough," he replied.

"It’s so good. I’ve never tasted anything like this before," a customer said between bites.

A thin dough with meat?

Daniel’s eyes narrowed as they settled on the bamboo steamers. His suspicion grew, and he shifted his gaze to the food resting on the customer’s wooden plate.

His eyes widened.

It was his own creation.

The meat pouches.

"Status," Daniel whispered, eyes locked on the stall owner.

"Sir, may I ask where you got the recipe for this?" Daniel asked with a neutral expression.

The owner’s smile slowly faded into a neutral expression.

"Recipe? It’s a family secret, young man" Ethan replied. "My great-grandmother passed it down to us. I can’t just hand it over to anyone... unless you’ve got enough money to make me reconsider."

A knowing smile tugged at Daniel’s lips.

Even though he knew Ethan was lying straight to his face, he kept his composure.

"Oh, really?" Daniel said with a faint smile. "Then your great-grandmother must have been quite extraordinary."

He glanced at the steaming meat pouches before meeting Ethan’s eyes again.

"I just hope she’s the only one who actually came up with the recipe. Because if someone else did, claiming it as your family’s secret may prove to be a costly mistake."

Hearing those words, Ethan’s smile vanished. He gritted his teeth but quickly forced himself to remain composed.

"Don’t waste my time. If you’re not here to buy something, move aside," he said, his tone turning cold.

Just then, a woman stepped up behind Daniel.

"Excuse me, how much for a plate?" she asked in a warm tone.

Daniel’s ears twitched at the familiar voice.

"Aunt?"

Standing before him was Treesa, dressed in a yellow gown beneath a black surcoat, a leather satchel slung over one shoulder.

"Daniel? What a surprise..." Treesa said, blinking in astonishment.

"Five pieces for one silver, Madam," Ethan replied, already picking up a plate and wrapping it, recognizing the Mayor of Arcana Town’s wife.

Wherever Treesa went, whether it was a shop, tavern, or market stall, merchants welcomed her with open arms. Her presence alone attracted customers, earning her a reputation as a lucky charm among local businesses.

At least, that was how most people knew her.

"You must be here for training. Am I right?" Treesa asked as she accepted the plate.

Daniel gave a small nod. "Yes, Aunt. But what about you?"

Treesa took a bite before smiling. "Well, when my husband can’t make it himself, someone has to attend them on his behalf."

She took another bite and nodded in satisfaction.

*Nom*

"I’m surprised your meat pouches are becoming more and more popular," she said.

Ethan heard every word, crisp and clear, his expression stiffened as he slowly folded his arms.

"Madam... did you just say this young man made these?" he asked, his voice tinged with nervousness.

Treesa smiled and turned toward him. "Of course. He’s the one who invented these meat pouches."

The customers gathered around the stall, who had been listening from the beginning, all turned their attention to Daniel.

"Mrs. Milan, before you arrived, this shopkeeper was claiming it was his family’s secret recipe," one of the customers said.

"Yes, I heard that too," another added.

The moment she heard it, her smile began to fade.
