Limitless Evolution As a Snake

Chapter 114: Red Flags & Baby Names

Not a moan, not a gasp, but this light little sound that doesn’t match anything that just happened, like wind chimes in the middle of a storm. She licks it off her lips slowly, savouring it like dessert, and I just stare at her, forked tongue flicking out to taste the air between us, half-convinced I’ve broken reality.

That’s it. I’m done. I’m completely gone for this woman.

Her eyes are clearing up more now too, the succubus haze fading bit by bit, replaced by something softer, something a little more her. She blinks up at me, slowly, and for a second neither of us says anything, just breathing hard in the quiet mess of the room.

"You okay?" I finally ask, voice wrecked, brushing a strand of hair off her face.

She nods, but her hands are still shaking when she reaches for me, like she can’t quite convince her body the marathon’s over.

"That was... that", she starts, then stops, cheeks going red the second actual thoughts start catching up to her mouth. "Oh, my god. I just. I did that. In front of you."

There it is. The shy Cherry clicking back online, horror dawning right on schedule.

"Hey," I say, pulling her in against my scales, tail curling loose around her like a blanket instead of a cage this time. "You were perfect. Don’t you dare start apologising."

She buries her face against my chest, groaning, and I just laugh, low and warm, holding her while the room finally goes quiet around us.

She goes quiet for a second, fingers curling weakly against my chest, then she whimpers this small, broken little sound that makes my whole chest hurt for no reason.

"Even though I teased you," she says, voice barely there, "and you saw the other side of me, the mean side, and you still,"

She doesn’t finish it. She doesn’t have to.

I trace my tail down the curve of her collarbone, slow, following the shape of the little red snake pattern like I’m reading braille off her skin. She shivers under it, breath catching softly in her throat.

"I love you," I cooed, plain, no fancy wrapping on it. "You’re stuck with me now. Bonded forever, whether you like it or not. Plus, it comes with lots of benefits: a hot red fire hose as your boyfriend, mafia prince in the making."

She lets out this tiny whimper again, hips twitching like her body wants to try something her brain already vetoed.

"Shh, love," I hiss, pressing her back down gently. "I don’t think you’re walking away from round two in one piece."

She nods, all soft and dazed, and I just scoop her up with my tail, careful, cradling her like she weighs nothing, which honestly she doesn’t compared to the crap I’ve hauled through the sewers. I carry her into that sad excuse for a bathroom, pipes rattling, tile cracked in three places, one bulb flickering like it’s about to give up on life, same as everything else in this apartment.

"Cherry," I appealed while I ran water over her shoulder, "once you’ve caught your breath a bit, we’re heading to my place."

Her eyes go wide. "Your place? Are you sure? Isn’t your girlfriend there? She doesn’t know about me."

"Yeah. And you’re my girlfriend too now. You’ll be safe there. Protected."

"Protected," she repeats, like the word tastes good in her mouth.

"Plus," I add, glancing around at the water stains crawling up the wall, "no offence to your bathroom, but it’s held together with black mould and duct tape, and I’m going to need you somewhere solid. Somewhere guarded."

Her eyes practically turn into hearts, no joke; if that was a thing that could physically happen, I’m pretty sure it just did.

She goes limp in my coils while I finish washing her, humming without meaning to, tail moving on autopilot while my brain drifts somewhere else entirely.

I carry her back out, dry her off best I can with a towel that’s seen better decades. Jesus, did she get this 4th hand or from the trash?

Whatever, I lay her down gently on the mattress. She’s out cold before I even finish tucking the blanket around her, breathing slow and even, looking about a hundred times more gentle than she did an hour ago, screaming my name like a woman possessed.

I glance down at her stomach without meaning to. Damn, did I actually knock her up? Am I ready to be a dad? Do succubi even get pregnant that easily, or is my brain just spiralling because I’ve had too much action in too short a window? I don’t know the rules here. Nobody handed me a manual for any of this.

That’s a problem for future Matt; we will cross that bridge later.

I coil around her slowly, carefully, wrapping blankets over both of us, using my own body as the mattress since hers is basically a plank with a bedsheet taped to it, and I think my tail broke everything else. She curls into my scales without waking, face soft, peaceful and mine.

Then something loud as hell slams into my skull.

[System: WAKE UP YA DRONGO, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN OH MY GOD. YOU FINALLY DID IT, YOU WEAPON!]

Please shut up.

[System: Aww, did you miss me too? crickey, I was bored off my tits, but look at her tits! amazing. Good job, proud of you, like my own son! Ahh, also you did great at the kebab stand! I would like to try some, but your stall can’t run itself, so I expect you to hurry back there soon. I have a mission for you!]

Old Mate, I’m unsure if you’re aware, but I am busy right now.

[System: Yeah nah I can see that, mate, I got eyes everywhere. Well, not eyes, more like vibes, but same difference.]

I’m just here trying to sleep, Old Mate, give me a break.

[System: nah nah, sleep is for people without kebab stands to run, anyway quick question before you drift off]

What?

[System: How you plannin’ on introducing your girlfriends to each other? Like, are we doing a group chat, a dinner party, or do we just chuck ’em in a room together and see who comes out alive?]
