He strode over to the unconscious Niu Dazhuang. Gently sweeping a hand over his body, a soft green glow flickered to life, enveloping him in a powerful surge of vitality.

After about fifteen minutes, Niu Dazhuang’s eyelids twitched, and he slowly opened his eyes.

Song Changsheng reached out, pulled Niu Dazhuang to his feet, and asked with concern, “Senior Brother, are you alright?”

Niu Dazhuang shook his groggy head. “I’m fine. Damn it, I was almost sucked dry.”

He glanced around warily. “Where’s that madwoman?”

He had been severely injured and passed out before the Restriction was broken. He hadn’t seen Yushu’s fate, hence his confusion.

“She’s dead, but Yuechan’s condition isn’t good. We have to get back to Master as soon as possible,” Song Changsheng said gravely.

“What’s wrong with Junior Sister?” Niu Dazhuang had always treated Zhuang Yuechan like his own sister. Seeing Song Changsheng’s solemn expression, he feared the worst and instantly panicked.

“Her life isn’t in immediate danger, but she just won’t wake up.”

Hearing that her life wasn’t in danger, Niu Dazhuang let out a long sigh of relief. “There’s no time to lose,” he said hurriedly. “Let’s get out of here.”

“Alright.”

Song Changsheng nodded, ready to leave with Zhuang Yuechan on his back, but Niu Dazhuang grabbed him.

“Did you forget someone?” Niu Dazhuang jutted his chin toward a spot not far away.

Only then did Song Changsheng remember that the Purple Demon was still alive. His mind had been entirely focused on Zhuang Yuechan; if Niu Dazhuang hadn’t reminded him, he would have completely forgotten.

“Just kill him. Delays breed trouble,” Song Changsheng said coldly.

“You got it! Leave it to me!” Niu Dazhuang sneered, walked over to the Purple Demon, and raised a fist the size of a sandbag, ready to smash down.

Just then, the unconscious Purple Demon suddenly opened his eyes and spat out a dark gleam of light.

The hair on Niu Dazhuang’s body stood on end. With a sharp turn of his head, he narrowly dodged the attack.

‘Seeing his carefully prepared trump card fail, the Purple Demon felt a pang of disappointment. That hidden weapon had been coated with Voodoo poison. If it had only managed to wound Niu Dazhuang, he could’ve dragged someone down with him.’

Unfortunately, his injuries were too severe and his Mana was depleted. The attack lacked far too much speed and precision.

Cold sweat soaked Niu Dazhuang’s back. He glared at the Purple Demon on the ground and roared, “Damn it, you just don’t know when to quit!”

A sneer appeared on the Purple Demon’s face. He was about to retort with a jeer, but Niu Dazhuang’s fist, whistling through the air, had already crashed down, giving him no chance to speak.

His head exploded like a watermelon, splattering red and white everywhere.

Niu Dazhuang, unfazed, casually wiped his hand on the Purple Demon’s clothes, then nonchalantly took the [Purple Inheritance Gold Bracelet], the Purple Demon’s Storage Bag, and his Magical Treasure.

He then walked over to a corner and glanced at Heifeng and another portly Cultivator. He found they were both thoroughly dead, their internal organs likely shattered by the shockwaves of their previous battle.

Niu Dazhuang didn’t hold back, landing another punch on each of them for good measure.

Watching him hand over the Storage Bags, Song Changsheng said with a look of disgust, “Couldn’t you have used a more… civilized method?”

“Hmph. Be glad I didn’t tear them limb from limb. You hold onto these Storage Bags for now. We’ll sort them out when we get outside.”

“Alright.”

Song Changsheng nodded, and with Zhuang Yuechan on his back, he took the lead and charged out.

The two of them sped back along the path they came. Along the way, they encountered many Cultivators still searching for Zhuang Yuechan. Both Song Changsheng and Niu Dazhuang were seething with pent-up rage, which they unleashed upon these men, leaving a trail of rolling heads.

Soon, emanating a dense Evil Qi, the two arrived at the exit. Song Changsheng said gravely, “Let’s rest for a bit. We might have another tough battle ahead of us.”

When they had entered the Golden Profound Cave, a crowd of Cultivators had already gathered outside, hoping to take advantage of the chaos. To get Zhuang Yuechan out, their only option was to carve a bloody path through them.

The two rested for a day and a night. After recuperating and gathering their strength, they walked out of the cave.

Just as Song Changsheng had predicted, they were targeted the moment they appeared. However, the pair had a powerful presence and emanated a dense Evil Qi, so the others didn’t dare to make a rash move.

It wasn’t until they were about to leave the Meteorite Mountain Range that a Mid-stage Purple Mansion Cultivator blocked their path, demanding to inspect the person on Song Changsheng’s back.

Song Changsheng and Niu Dazhuang didn’t waste any words on him; they immediately engaged him in battle.

Seeing someone take the lead, the surrounding Cultivators also joined in the encirclement.

Song Changsheng and Niu Dazhuang fought a bloody battle to the death. After three ancient hours of grueling combat, covered in wounds, they brutally carved a bloody path out of the encirclement and escaped with their lives…

「In the Gusu Cultivation Realm, within a remote stretch of the Gobi desert, a fissure stretched as far as the eye could see, forming a bottomless canyon.」

This was a Land of No Spirit.

Meaning, a place without Spiritual Qi.

For Demon Beasts and Human Race Cultivators alike, no Spiritual Qi meant no cultivation. Even the power of their Divine Power Techniques would be greatly diminished.

Therefore, the canyon and the thousands of miles around it were devoid of human life. Even animals were exceedingly rare.

Yet in a place just like this, there was a small village.

The village was located within the canyon, inhabited by a peculiar group of humans.

They were incredibly tall, generally exceeding eight feet. Their skin was bronze, and they were clad in beast hides. Some were even completely naked, exuding a primal wildness.

Due to the lack of wood, they had carved out stone chambers in the steep cliff faces to live in. The higher a chamber’s position, the higher its owner’s status.

It was noon, and the women of the village were preparing food for their children. They had no concept of a kitchen; they simply gathered on a flat piece of ground to roast meat together.

As far as the eye could see, there was every kind of meat imaginable.

Their roasting technique was simple and crude. There were no seasonings; they just threw whole chunks of meat onto the fire. Whether it was cooked through or burnt was not their concern. When they felt it was about done, they would thrust it into their children’s hands.

One could only imagine the taste of meat cooked this way, but the children ate with great relish. For them, just having meat to eat was a great satisfaction.

Just then, a tall and sturdy man suddenly leaped into the air, precisely entering a stone chamber a hundred zhang high.

Although everyone was used to this sight, a slight commotion still rippled through the crowd, for the man had entered the chamber of the “Grand Priest.”

The Grand Priest was the strongest in their tribe, and also its Pilot. Unless it was an urgent matter, no one would dare disturb him.

For a moment, everyone wondered if something major had happened.

Before they could figure anything out, two figures descended from the sky.

One was the tall man from before. The other appeared old, but was even taller—at least a zhang tall—with bulging muscles that radiated explosive power.

A stir went through the crowd, for the old man was the tribe’s Grand Priest—Witch Mann.

Witch Mann seemed to be enduring something. He glanced at the tall man beside him and said, “Witch Qian, tell everyone the news.”

“As you command, Grand Priest.” Witch Qian nodded respectfully, then turned to the crowd and announced in a heavy voice, “Witch Xiao is dead.”

As his words fell, the crowd was plunged into a dead silence.

After a long while, a soft sob broke the silence.

Then, more and more women and children began to cry.

Seeing this, Witch Mann stomped his ornate bone staff on the ground and proclaimed loudly, “Witch Xiao! He brought back medicine for the tribe’s elders, resources for its warriors, clothes for its women, and food for its children.”

“He was a hero of the tribe, the most outstanding child of the Witch Ancestor!”

“But now, he is dead. His Divine Soul has not even returned to the embrace of the Witch God! Tell me, what should we do!”

Hearing this, the fire of hatred flared in everyone’s eyes. In one voice, they roared, “Revenge! Revenge!”
