Of the two ores the clan chief brought out, one was completely black. It looked just like a block of iron, but it was dozens of times heavier. Even with Ye Liuyun’s cultivation, he could feel its weight in his hand.

The other stone was gray. It was clearly a rock, but it contained many golden impurities that looked like sand. They all glittered with golden light, clearly indicating that they were a special kind of metal.

When Ye Liuyun saw these two items, he knew they had to be valuable. However, he did not know much about ores and did not dare to assess their worth.

After obtaining the clan chief’s consent, he stored both ores in his spatial world and took them to Tong Xin, Ancestor Tianhuo, and the other artifact refiners for examination.

The black ore was immediately confirmed by the artifact refiners to be several times higher in quality than the ores they currently used. After refining the metal from the ore containing the golden impurities, the many artifact refiners also confirmed that it was a rare metal of even higher quality than the black ore. However, its metal content was too low, so they could not extract much of it.

At that moment, the tribespeople also brought out the roasted meat. Most of it was served to Ye Liuyun and the others, while the tribespeople themselves received only a small piece each.

They were quite skilled at roasting meat. The roasted meat had a distinctive flavor; apparently, they had slowly smoked it over a special fruitwood, giving it a fruity aroma. Ye Liuyun had essentially learned a new way to roast meat for free.

Clan Chief Yao Tianling had shown Ye Liuyun these things because he intended to trade with him as well.

Ye Liuyun and the others chatted with the clan chief as they ate. The clan chief also introduced them to the tribe’s unique body-tempering technique, which was likewise a special pathway for circulating their power of bloodline.

When someone demonstrated it for Ye Liuyun, his Golden Eyes had already clearly seen their unique circulation pathway. In essence, it merely involved integrating various types of power.

Ye Liuyun felt that this method was nothing special and would not be of much help in tempering everyone’s bodies. He had already told the others about this method; the only difference was a slight variation in the circulation pathway.

Thus, Ye Liuyun had no intention of exchanging for their technique.

In the end, he and Yao Tianling agreed that Ye Liuyun would teach them the basics of artifact refining, alchemy, and formations in exchange for a supply of Crimson Flame Grass and Vajra Fruits suitable for transplantation, as well as any amount of the body-tempering water they wanted. The tribespeople would also teach them how to cultivate medicinal herbs and fruit trees.

They would exchange the remaining Crimson Flame Grass and Vajra Fruits for vicious-beast meat and divine crystals. As for the ores, Ye Liuyun would exchange weapons, armor, treasures, flying boats, and warships of equal volume for them.

Ye Liuyun had no shortage of these resources, so he could exchange them in large quantities. The Yao clan had abundant stocks of medicinal herbs and spirit fruits, and had even planted several small mountains with them, giving it extremely rich reserves. The mineral veins were also all within their jurisdiction.

Both sides were very satisfied with the terms of the exchange and each felt that they had made a huge profit. After signing a soul contract, they began arranging people to carry out the trade.

Ye Liuyun found several low-level artifact refiners, alchemists, and formation masters and imparted to the other side all the basic knowledge they knew. The locals, meanwhile, let Ye Liuyun transplant the medicinal herbs and fruit trees from two mountains, and also took him to an underground cavern at the foot of a distant snow-capped mountain to collect water.

All this water came from snow accumulated on the mountaintop. After melting, it slowly passed through layer upon layer of filtration by the mountain before finally seeping underground. Ye Liuyun guessed that there was probably some special treasure within the mountain, which was why the water had body-tempering effects.

However, he did not greedily blast open the mountain. He felt that obtaining this water was already enough. The underground water was inexhaustible, and Ye Liuyun filled almost all his containers. He even dug several reservoirs in his spatial world to store the water, lowering the groundwater level by half.

He stopped only after deciding that the water he had collected would be enough for the Death Legion to temper their bodies for half a year.

The two sides then exchanged beast meat and divine crystals for the large quantities of Crimson Flame Grass and Vajra Fruits in the tribe’s reserves. The trades were calculated by volume, but the exchange ratio between the medicinal herbs and beast meat or divine crystals was one to ten: ten portions of medicinal herbs could be exchanged for only one portion of beast meat.

Beast meat and divine crystals were both important resources needed by the locals. Since they could cultivate the medicinal herbs and fruit trees themselves, they still felt that the exchange was worthwhile.

Ye Liuyun was not short of divine crystals either, so he tried to use as many divine crystals as possible for the exchanges, then used a small amount of beast meat to obtain some more.

Next, Ye Liuyun dispatched an army of one hundred thousand demons to help mine the mineral veins. He then exchanged weapons, armor, and flying boats of equal volume for the ore, conveniently clearing out much of the equipment in his stockpile of captured goods.

For the remaining ore, Ye Liuyun also used dried meat made by Zhu Youfu to obtain quite a lot of it.

The many fragments of vicious beasts they had obtained earlier in the Bloodburn Galaxy had all been taken by Zhu Youfu and made into dried meat for the army’s reserves.

With this dried meat, they were able to obtain even more resources in exchange. The locals also learned a way to preserve meat.

After the trade ended, both sides were so delighted that they could hardly keep their mouths shut.

Ye Liuyun had not expected these inconspicuous things to be so effective. If he had not gotten along well with the locals and they had not brought these items out, he would at most have been able to find the vein of black ore. He certainly would not have noticed the other resources.

In Ye Liuyun’s spatial world, the artifact refiners and alchemists had already begun to busy themselves.

The artifact refiners were using the black ore to extract metal and replace all the Death Legion soldiers’ armor with a uniform set. The golden sand they extracted was being kept for refining artifacts for the people around Ye Liuyun.

The Dragon Girl’s strength-amplifying gloves and armor had both been damaged. Ancestor Tianhuo could use this golden sand to forge replacements for her, giving them higher grades and greater power.

Ye Liuyun also kept a portion for himself and was refining it with the Nine-Dragon Heaven-Swallowing Cauldron to raise the grade of his War God Armor. His own Demon-Slaying Saber, his clone’s two sabers, and the weapons of the others around him could all be further strengthened and improved as well.

The alchemists, meanwhile, began studying how to enhance the effects of these medicinal herbs and the water, preparing to refine a pill with better body-tempering effects. They provisionally named it the Vajra Pill and began continuously refining and improving it.

The demonic beasts and the women often took advantage of this time to spar with the locals. They also discovered that although these people were not highly cultivated, once the true power of their physical bodies was brought into play, they were indeed no weaker than them.

However, their combat power in other areas was quite poor. If they truly fought to the death, these locals would certainly be at a disadvantage. For ordinary practice, though, they made good targets.

Ye Liuyun stayed here with everyone for a month, taking the opportunity to spend more time with the women around him. He was worried that after reaching the Void World, they would once again be fighting every day, leaving him no time to look after them.

Thus, everyone enjoyed a rather leisurely month.
