Chapter 1317: Have We Met Before?
Jose Floyd’s gaze became deep and terrifying as he watched Nicole, who had finished her greetings, grab her bag and phone and walk outside, without glancing at the person on the bed.
Just as Nicole left, Jose Floyd’s eyes turned extremely cold, dialing a number for Qu.
"Investigate Jude Charington’s whereabouts lately. I want him to vanish from Italy completely!"
Jude Charington dared to mess with his people, trying to replace him. If he didn’t settle this score completely, he wouldn’t be Jose Floyd!
-
Nicole arrived at the address to meet with Joshua Floyd and took over the heavily drunk Joshua from the bartender, helping him out of the bar.
Earlier at the Manor Estate, she received a call from Joshua Floyd. He was slurring his words on the phone, and there were people beside him persuading him, clearly having drunk a lot. She asked Joshua to put the call on speaker, loudly asking the people around him — namely the bartender — for the bar’s address, and came over here.
Nicole helped Joshua Floyd out of the bar and had to ask him many questions before she finally got his home address from the drunken Joshua.
She took a taxi to Joshua Floyd’s house, supporting him as they pressed the doorbell of the villa in front. After a few minutes, someone came to open the door.
The one who came to open the door was a middle-aged woman with a gentle and elegant temperament, one who had a clear scholarly air about her.
Upon seeing Nicole helping a strongly scented Joshua Floyd, the woman immediately opened the door, her eyes showing surprise, "Joshua has gone to the bar again, has he? Are you a friend of Joshua’s?"
Nicole nodded, smiling lightly, "Hello, Aunt, my name is Nicole, I was a classmate of Joshua when he was studying medicine."
"Hello, hello, thank you for bringing Joshua back. I’m Joshua’s mother, just call me Aunt Floyd."
"Alright."
Joshua’s mother assisted Nicole in helping Joshua into the villa together.
Just as they entered, a steady and experienced male voice resonated, "Has Joshua come back? That kid surely went to indulge again somewhere, didn’t he?"
Madam Floyd chuckled upon hearing this, "You know your son well, Joshua indeed came back drunk, and thanks to this young lady for helping. Nicole, this is my husband, Stuart Floyd, Joshua’s father."
Nicole helped Madam Floyd put Joshua down onto the sofa and gave a slight smile towards Joshua’s father, "Hello, Uncle Floyd, I’m Joshua’s classmate."
"Hello, young lady, thank you for bringing Joshua back. This child has a rebellious nature and must have troubled you, please forgive him."
Nicole just smiled and shook her head.
Joshua’s mother stood up, poured Nicole a cup of tea, pushed some fruit towards her, softly tapping the back of Nicole’s hand, her gestures naturally intimate, her smile exceptionally gentle, "Stay for dinner tonight. It’s the first time Joshua has brought a friend home. Try the dishes I make; they won’t disappoint you."
"Aunt Floyd, no need, I won’t stay for dinner... I..."
"Don’t refuse. I liked you the moment I saw you; you are a child who resonates with my heart. If Joshua were to be with you—" Mrs. Floyd smiled, "I’ve said too much, sit here and chat with my husband while I go cook."
Unable to refuse, Nicole had no choice but to nod and agree.
Nicole chatted with Mr. Stuart Floyd, who was calm and composed, giving off an air of being magnanimous and stable, which was very pleasant. However—
Nicole looked at Stuart Floyd, who was speaking eloquently in front of her, furrowed her brows, and stared at Stuart Floyd’s features for a while, finally unable to resist asking, "Uncle Floyd, have we met before? I always feel like I’ve known you, like I’ve seen you somewhere before."
