Chapter 1322: Italy in Turmoil
Why does Stuart Floyd always give her the feeling that he wants her to be with her ex-boyfriend?
Why is Stuart Floyd so concerned about her relationships?
Stuart Floyd’s only heard her mention a few things about relationships, so why does he speak as if he’s trying to help her ex-boyfriend?
Nicole was a bit puzzled but didn’t voice it. Her time with the Floyd couple was exceptionally harmonious and joyful.

Joshua Floyd woke up the next day, and upon seeing Nicole at his home, he shrieked as if he’d seen a ghost.
Nicole laughed lightly and teased Joshua, "Classmate Floyd, it’s rather impolite to scream when you see me like this."
"Unbelievable! Nicole, how did you end up in my house? You’re not secretly in love with me and following me around to know where I live, are you?!" Joshua jumped onto the sofa, smiling mischievously at Nicole.
Nicole sat on the sofa as well, lightly smiled at Celine Sutton, who was bringing over a plate of fruit, and called out, "Godmother."
"...Nicole! What did you just call my mom?" Joshua looked at Nicole in shock, bewildered. "Don’t call her that! When did she become your mom? I have no intention of marrying you!"
Nicole smiled and cast a glance at the startled Joshua, "Don’t be narcissistic; I’ve never thought of marrying you."
Celine Sutton sat beside Joshua, offered Nicole some fruit, and then joked, "If you can manage to marry Nicole, that would be quite a feat. As you are now, if Nicole, such a good girl, marries you, it would truly be like a flower stuck in manure."
"...But I’m your own son!" Joshua retorted to Celine.
Celine ignored her son’s complaint, placed the fruit directly in front of Nicole without leaving any for Joshua.
Joshua: "... Why do I feel like things have changed in my home? Aren’t I supposed to be the most cherished one here?"
Celine chuckled and patted Joshua on the back of his head, saying with a laugh, "From now on, Nicole is my daughter. I have always valued girls over boys. Joshua, if you have the ability, bring home a daughter-in-law; otherwise, your status will only keep declining."
Joshua shrugged, snatched the jujube that Nicole had just picked up, and stuffed it into his mouth. He grinned mischievously at Nicole and said, "Mom, you can think of Nicole as the daughter-in-law I brought home to amuse you!"
Annoyed by Joshua’s cheekiness, Nicole grabbed a jujube and stuffed it into his mouth, laughingly scolded, "Eat yours, and stop talking nonsense."
"You’re a bit late with your modesty and shyness. You’ve come to our home of your own accord to be the daughter-in-law, so I can’t let down your secret love for me." Joshua continued to tease Nicole, eyes glinting with amusement.
Celine was amused by her son’s antics, took a slice of orange from the fruit plate to eat, and watched the two of them with a smile, suddenly feeling a sense of happiness as if having both a son and daughter.

Nicole stayed at the Floyd family for several days, and during these days, she felt relaxed and at ease. Every day she enjoyed the medicinal meals Celine prepared for her and bickered with Joshua, enveloped by a warm feeling of home that made her mood increasingly joyful.
Time always passes unnoticed. On this day, when Stuart Floyd returned from outside, he walked in with a rather somber expression, looking at Joshua, Nicole, and Celine waiting for him at the dining table, he hesitated to speak.
"Old Floyd, what happened?" Celine filled a bowl of soup for Stuart and asked softly.
Stuart took the soup, glanced at the three waiting for his response, his gaze lingered on Nicole a bit longer before he slowly spoke in a deep voice, "Things have been a bit chaotic in Italy lately."
"What happened?" Joshua took a bite of food and asked.
