Mages Are Too OP

Chapter 25: I'm Going Away

It was meant to be a sleepless night, and while the townspeople were home, most of the rooms were lit with oil lamps.

Light oil is still expensive in this world, and if there's nothing important, it's not usually lit.

And now, most of the townsfolk lit the lights, reflecting the golden light on the lake, and the moon bent in the air, making the night seem very quiet and beautiful.

Occasionally, the wind of the lake brings a sense of cool and indulgent comfort.

Betta lay on the railing of the Lake Heart Bridge, staring at the lake in the distance, wondering what she was thinking.

Roland dug a pit near the cabin and swept the ashes from the burning of the cabin into the pit with the magician's hand before filling them in.

Then a cross tombstone was erected in front of the pit.

He then walked to the lake's heart bridge and saw the teenager who was stunned.

Roland walked up to Betta and learned how to do that, his upper body lying on the bridge railing, looking at the scaly lake in the distance.

Betta turned her head and smeared her eyes with her sleeves.

“What are you thinking?” After a while, Roland whispered.

“Nothing to think about. ”

The teenager's voice was a little dull, and from Roland's point of view, there seemed to be tear marks in the corner of the other person's eye.

Roland sighed softly when he thought of Falcon's disappointment when he left.

“Rolango, I'm sorry I screwed things up.” Betta whispered.

The teenager's voice was filled with deep regrets, and Roland looked at him and smiled after a while: "How much reputation have you lost? ”

30 o'clock. ”Betta whispered.

Betta wasn't hurt by a loss of reputation, he simply felt he had done something wrong. He took those NPCs as a series of data, but the two elderly people told him in action that they had their own souls, their own ideas, that they didn't have any preset 'mission plots’.

Everything is natural, real.

“I'm down by 10. The townspeople have their own taste, I have been here for a long time, and they are more familiar with it, and they tolerate me more.” Roland thought about it and said, "This reinforces my earlier view that this is not just a game. ”

Betta pulls out an ugly smile: "But they're in a game. I also understand what you think, carbon-based life, silicon-based life, even data life. But a company that starts from a village, is it really capable of making games like this, games that have life? ”

“If these NPCs are really life, why didn't the game company explain it at first? ”

Behind Beta, the voice grew higher, even a hint of roaring.

Roland said, “Maybe even the gaming companies don't know what the hell they're doing. ”

“Do you think that's possible?” Betta hummed softly.

Roland replied, "Who knows? I don't know what to say. ”

At one time, they stopped talking and only the lake breeze was singing around.

After a while, Roland took the initiative again to ask, "What are your plans next? ”

“To other cities.” There was a glimmer of loss in Betta's eyes: "I'm not welcome here anymore, it doesn't make any sense to stay. ”

Roland straightened his body and looked at the lights in the distance and said softly: "Run away from the desert? Why don't you try and get it back? ”

In silence, Betta turned around and looked at him and said, "Rolango, do you have a good idea? ”

“In the maple forest across the mountain, there's a bunch of giant spiders that pose a great threat to the town.” Roland said slowly, "I killed some before, but a man was weak, and you know that the early days of the magician were not suitable for first-line battlefields, so progress was a bit slow. If you can work with me..."

Betta asked with interest, "Is that okay? By the way, the char-grilled spider legs I've had before are delicious. ”

Seeing the teenager's mood get better, Roland laughed: "We don't have spider legs that big in the real world for you to roast. Or are you eating toothpick meat? ”

Betta answered with a longing expression: "Coconut crab. ”

“Isn't that a crab? No, I think it's shrimp.” Roland stood still.

“They're all arthropods. It's no problem to be a spider. ”

Roland laughed: “That makes sense. ”

Speaking of food, Betta's mood got better, and he said, "Well, I'm going somewhere else to practice swordsmanship. ”

“You still know swordsmanship?” Roland stunned: “Have you studied at a fencing hall or something? ”

Betta shook her head: "No, in the village where I was born, there was a veteran who would learn basic military swordsmanship with three silver coins. Although only a few shelves were thrown, after more than a dozen days of practice, I realized that it did work quite well. ”

“Three silver coins...” Laurent sighed, digging for more than a month, then removing the meals, and saving about three silver coins.

The other person entered the game more than half a month later and now seems to have more money than him.

And when he thought about it, he said, "Where did you make so much money? ”

Berta replied: "One of the passive members of the nobility of the Divine Family is‘ fortunate fortune 'and can pick up the money! I've triggered several times, and I've picked up almost three gold coins in total. ”

Fuck me!

Roland feels a little sad that he doesn't seem to have enough money to play games with his cousins.

A holy samurai takes up 20 gold coins a month, equivalent to over 200,000 soft sister coins.

This teenager can pick up money in front of him... Well, there is a sense of happiness gained without labor, somehow, some jealousy.

If possible, he also wants to play the game easily, without having to run for money, but the reality is cruel.

He can only survive from mining.

Watching Betta run aside to practice swordsmanship, he went back to his little thatch house on the hillside.

There was a man standing at the door, looking closer, Falcon.

Falcon met him, came forward, and in the moonlight, he was wearing a green robe, and I don't know why, he looked extraordinarily old.

“How about I talk to the old man? ”

Roland nodded.

Falcon walked a few steps forward and looked down the hill at the town and said in a heavy tone: "We actually knew James' son was dead a long time ago. ”

When he heard that, Roland laughed and shook his head helplessly.

“In fact, with James and his body, they won't be able to live much longer. But it's always good to live a while longer.” Falken sighs for a long time: "But leaving early also has the advantage of walking a little bit, at least they don't have to suffer from illness and stay with their son until they die. ”

Roland doesn't know how to answer the phone, and he can hear some sad emotions from Falkan's words.

“I'm leaving, too! ”

At first, Roland didn't understand the meaning of the phrase, but then he looked at Falcon violently.

“Don't be so surprised, as a priest, you will certainly know when you will be summoned by the gods you believe in.” Falken shows a look that doesn't matter, even the wind is light: “In three months, I'm going to enter the kingdom of God... you should be happy for me without having to show such a sad look. ”

“No way. Dead or dead, nothing. ”

“No, we priests, as long as we do not make great mistakes, our souls will live in the kingdom of God after death. ”

Roland didn't believe it. Heaven, hell, these things, they're too nothing, they're too little.
