Magi Craft Meister

01-05 Contract

The next morning.

"Jin, are you there?"

After breakfast, the village chief came to Martha's house.

"Yes?"

"Oh, Jin, do you have a minute?

"Yeah, what is it?

The village chief laughed,

"What, it's not a big deal. Roland, the businessman we're staying with, wants to talk to you a little bit."

"Really? Fine."

"Well, will you just come?

So Jen was set to head to the village chief's house.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Roland, a pedestrian. I'm sorry I called you this time."

"This is my son Eric. It's an honor to meet you."

Roland and Eric were waiting at the village chief's house to say a polite greeting to Jen, who came. I am a merchant around here.

"Ah, nice to meet you. It's called Jin Nido."

That's how the three of them sat around the table. The village chief shall also be present. Soon a young daughter came with tea.

"Go ahead."

"Oh, thank you, Barbara"

Jen thinks in the corner of his head that he was indeed the village chief's niece, but immediately turns his attention back to the person in front of him.

"So, what's the story?

Jen cuts it out first. It was Roland who answered that.

"No, it's not a big deal.... I was curious about something I didn't have when I visited this village two months ago"

"Oh, is it a hot spring"

"Yeah. And is it a pump, a tool to pump that water up? Are you sure you're the one who rubbed that?

"Yes, but what?

To Jen, who looks suspicious,

"Oh, no, Mr. Ginn, was it, because you're young? Where did you learn to be a magician (Magicraftsman) at that young age?

Magicraftsman?

It is the first word I hear. I inherited the title of Magicraft Jazz, but I don't know the name Magicraft Man.

"Oh, didn't you know? That's surprising. Magicraftsman is a generic name for people who use magic to make tools."

"Ha."

In response to a seemingly careless reply, Roland changes the subject.

"Speaking of which, where were you?

That was something Jen wanted to be sure of, so I jumped at this.

"Yeah, they actually happened to find the Transition Gate and were flown by it. So I don't know exactly where I came from or where I'm going to go."

"Transition Gate (Warp Gate)? I think I've heard of it.... Eric, what do you say?

"I do think I learned that there are ancient artifacts (artifacts) with that name. You can come and go at two different points."

For the first time, Eric opened his mouth except to say hello.

"This guy was at Cecilio Magic School until last year. I know a little bit about magic."

His father, Roland, is also proud to have no heart.

"Well, it must be an ancient relic (artifact), but it seems to have stormed out anyway, and when I realized it, it meant it was falling by this village. So I've been living in this village since Martha picked me up."

I misled some of it, but it's not a mistake. Eric, too,

"That was a disaster, wasn't it? There are many ancient relics (artifacts) that you don't understand, so I guess that's what happens."

Roland took over that,

"Does that mean I don't know where your hometown is?

"It is. Nihon, you don't understand, do you?

"Nihon, is that it? That's definitely a place name I've never heard of. Is that yours?

"Yeah, it's home."

Roland thinks arm in arm. In the meantime, Eric asked.

"If you do, you can say that the magic used by Jin and the tools you made belong to Jin's hometown, right?

"That's what I mean"

When Jen snorted, Eric was excited,

"Excellent! That pump, is it, I definitely need you to tell me how to make it!

It was Roland who stumbled on it.

"Why don't you get so excited about this? Mr. Jin, I will pay for the information, so would you mind telling us how to structure and make a 'pump'?"

Jen thinking about what to do. There's nothing wrong with teaching. I just think if I could, I'd rather have a profit in this village.

"Right, by the way, how much do you think the information fee is? Oh, I don't know the currency around here, so you can tell me, including the area."

"Really? I guess so. As an information fee, how about a hundred thousand torres? In the common currency of the Kingdom of the Group, there is one tonne of copper coin, one hundred tonnes of silver coin and one thousand tonnes of gold coin, and 10 kilos of wheat is about 300 tonnes and three pieces of silver coins."

Jen is in a big hurry to figure it out. Regardless of the fluctuations, on a wheat basis, it seems roughly correct if you think a toil is about ten yen. That means the information fee is one million yen.

"I'll ask you one more thing before I reply, does this country have the idea of a 'patent'?

"'Patent'? What is that?

I don't know if that's what you've been asking me back.

"A patent is a system that protects the rights of the first person to think about it, and for a certain period of time, when you use a patent, you need to pay the patentee a 'patent fee'."

Roland listened to it and thought a little before

"I see, that's a good system. Make it widely available while protecting the interests of those who devise new objects. This will boost your chances of trying to make something new."

That's the merchant, or fast to understand. but

"But unfortunately, there is no such system."

"Really, that's unfortunate"

"So..."

Roland with a disappointed face,

"No, let's sell the information on that condition. However, there is only one condition."

"Oh, what's that!?

Roland is motivated by the fact that he can sell us information on the pump.

"I want you to put Mr. Roland's name or something similar in the pump. It's like you can't imitate it if you can."

"I see, the differentiation from similar products,"

Roland swallows fast.

"That's right. Sooner or later, there will be counterfeits and similar products, but as you can see, the original belongs to Mr. Roland."

"Hehe, the real original is Mr. Jin though"

"If you say that, you won't know which one is the original in my country anymore."

That's how the contract is signed. The person in charge is Eric. Jen made a pump in front of me and showed it to me, and gave it away as a sample.

Just that afternoon, Jen will try to demonstrate using less bronze.

That afternoon, at Jen's workplace,

"Hey, what, how to do that ah!

Eric's scream was ringing, he said.
