Magi Craft Meister

22-01 New Aircraft

To the east of the Lauren continent, where many humankind live, is the island of Penglai, right in the middle of its sea.

The northern regression line runs directly above it and is climatically close to the subtropics.

"Magic Engineer" Magicraft Jazz "and" You "is Nido Jen's, a true stronghold.

Now Jen was going through a lot of consideration to solve a big problem.

Problem is, 'travel time'.

It is a matter of resolving the distance of about 1300 km from Koh Chang to Loizato, the capital of the Imperial Shouro.

Two hundred kilometers an hour, in short.

Jen thought that if we could travel in six and a half hours, it would mean we could go anywhere in the known world in a day.

"But that's a little impossible on the current airship..."

Even using the wind avoidance junction and force field generator Force Generator, the speed limit is 150 km/h.

More than that, I am intensely anxious considering emergencies such as storms.

"Rebuild it"

If that's the case, Jen behaves quickly.

Ask Reiko to prepare the ingredients and ask Old Master to drop by to help with "Daedara" and "Artisan (Smith)".

In other words, Elsa is in the process of returning to the home of the Imperial Shouro.

a large dedicated workshop built on the back of the laboratory, which will mean

"Should the total length be 40 meters?"

Same size as the current one, and the same size as a large ship such as the Shawulo Empire.

"Now it's a 'hard' airship."

A rigid airship is a method in which multiple airbags are stored internally by stretching the outer skin over a frame, such as metal, rather than inflating the airbag by internal air (helium) pressure.

There are various advantages and disadvantages, but this time Jen decided to adopt this method in order to increase the rigidity of the fuselage.

The shape shall be of an elongated droplet type, with a stabilizing wing attached to the rear. The appearance is almost the same as that seen in modern Japan.

But the contents are completely different.

"The frame is 64 light silver."

Make it as light and durable as possible.

Of course the outer skin and the airbag in it are GS (Grand Spider) P (Resin).

Gondola decided not to hang, but to attach it to the frame. This makes the upper vision worse, but reduces shaking.

"Make it thirty."

Of course, it's impossible to get thirty people on board at the size of this airbag.

Up to about four people at most with this specification. But for a certain purpose, Jen wanted to have 30 passengers.

The difference is compensated by the force field generator Force Generator.

"Father, shouldn't it be 'gravity-controlled magic'?

Reiko expressed her doubts.

"Oh, I hope so. Now, I can't grasp the" gravity-controlled magic "entity..."

"What do you mean?

To that question, Jen stops his hand and gives an explanation.

"Gravity, but mass seems to be changing, and increasing gravity doesn't cause downbursts..."

A downburst is an intense downward airflow, usually occurring as a recoil of an upward airflow generated by a cumulative cloud or the like. Here Jen uses it in the sense of 'a strong downward airflow that occurs locally' or so.

Because it's magic, and that's it, but since all normal magic is on the extension of the laws of physics, I'm concerned about Jen.

"I guess the rest is efficiency"

The Force Generator consumes less free magic (ether) than gravity-controlled magic.

This alone would be a good reason.

"Okay."

Reiko seems convinced too. Jen enters the assembly of the Magi Machine.

"Father, what is it?

"Oh, it's 'Gyro'"

"Is it Gyro"

"Gyro," Jen says, is a fast spinning disc. Jen used to think of solo music (Koma) using the Gyro principle he used to have.

Will what Jen is making be a 'gyrostabilizer' to be exact?

Rotate the Adamantite disc by wind magic in a sealed enclosure. The same principle as the turbine, but since it is not necessary to remove power outside, the consumption of free magic (ether) is only marginal.

By putting this on, you can curb the shake.

Since one does not suppress movement around the axis of rotation, it was resolved by turning the two discs going straight, making it a "gyrostabilizer" as a "unit".

"Do you keep the thrusters on jet thrusters?"

In order not to lose efficiency in the rain, we decided to use the Jet Thruster instead of the Wind Magic Thruster.

"Father, is this okay for you in the cabin?

Reiko was asked to make a cabin.

"Oh, good."

I used the usual 64 light silver for the interior...... not titanium, but aluminum alloy.

It's also called ultra duralumin, an addition of copper and magnesium to aluminium. It is inferior to corrosion resistance but not a problem for indoor use.

Twenty foldable chairs and ten made chairs. Both textures are the same. It's not as cheesy as an auxiliary seat because it folds.

Defeat the back of the chair and you'll be fully flat and able to sleep.

It has a lightweight refrigerator and a microwave as well as a Magi range so that snacks can be taken.

Behind the small warehouse, there was a transfer gate (warp gate) that was also able to retrieve items that had not been loaded.

The inside of the gondola will be completely airtight and air-conditioned so you should be comfortable.

The escape portal (warp gate) is also provided in a separate frame.

"Well done. Thank you, Reiko."

Reiko, who seems happy, buys more help from Jen and leaves.

"Father, what can I do for you?

"I've already got 90% of the way, so I need a test flight."

"Okay."

These tests are always a part of Reiko. I get depressed when I ask another golem.

'Father, you're doing well. The shaking is also considerably contained'

Reiko is reporting from above the sky through the Magnetic Communicator (Manacam).

"But I don't think I can do 200 kilometers an hour."

"Oh, that will be after the final outfit. Now check your maneuverability and balance."

"Okay."

Then for a while, Reiko was flying around over Penglai, but eventually slowly descended.

Use the force field generator Force Generator to land in the original position in different dimensions.

Reiko, who came down, gave a quick and detailed report.

"Father, all in all, you can do an excellent job. Stability is better than before, and speed will be higher. It also seems to be improving residency."

"Yeah, thank you. So, what's the downside?

"Yes, the emphasis on stability has resulted in a slight loss of operability. Then again, you can't see the top of it at all..."

Jen noticed Reiko telling her. The search for stability in the gyrostabilizer resulted in a blunt reaction to changes in attitude, such as reorientation.

"Oh well... you have that problem"

Jen conceived. The gyrostabilizer reduces sway, on the other hand, it becomes resistant when trying to change the direction of the airship.

"Wait a minute, huh?... you just have to disconnect it when you change your orientation!

Jen's idea was that the gyrostabilizer should be fixed to the airship on three axes and release that axis if necessary.

Of course, the three axes are the X-axis (front and rear direction), the Y-axis (left and right direction), and the Z-axis (up and down direction).

Shaking is nothing more than rotational motion around each axis. Alternatively, a change of direction is a rotation about one or more of these, or a composite axis.

Generally pitching the motion around the left and right axes of the fuselage, i.e. the motion of swinging up and down the neck, rolling the motion around the front and rear axes of the fuselage, i.e. the motion of the plane tilting to the right or left.

And the motion around the upper and lower axes of the fuselage, i.e. the motion of swinging the neck from left to right, is called yawing.

Naturally, changing direction is also a combination of this axis, so it is difficult to shake = it is difficult to change orientation.

"Let's move the gyrostabilizer near the center of gravity and link it to the rudder to release the fixed axis"

For example, when you want to change the orientation from left to right, the fixation on the Z-axis is released, making it easier to yaw.

Trying to achieve this with a mechanical device will require uninterrupted effort, cost, and mechanism, but with magic engineering it will take a little effort.

The microcomputer control device may be slightly similar even though the specification can be changed by changing the program.

"I think we can do 200 km if we put a wind shelter line in order to increase speed"

To Jen's words, Reiko thinks a little before answering.

"Right. If that stability, perhaps."

"And in the vision directly above, we'll install a periscope, not a periscope."

Like a submarine periscope, it was decided to attach something that made it optically visible directly above, or above, the airbag.

"For when something happens, I want you to be able to operate remotely."

It is an autopilot replacement.

"Finally, let's load up on the 'transfer device' given to us by No. 700672. Keep the marker in Penglai."

With this, you can return to Penglai in an instant.

Thus, Jen's airship No. 2, named "Conlon 2," was completed.

Just at the same time Elsa came home from her parents.

Elsa was circling her eyes when she saw the new airship.
