39-09 Jen's Lecture

"Automata is perceived as something of a hobby."

Tobias said in an unfortunate tone.

"Perhaps."

If you don't need to look like a human, you'll make it in time for the golem.

If it's the same performance, it's no surprise or anything that golems with no cost are in greater demand by comparison.

"So, what do you mean, talk to me?

When Jen returned to the story, Tobias stared at Reiko,

"Even if you look at Lady Leiko, listed as the Honorary Knight, you can see that Lord Jin has an extraordinary love for automatic dolls (Automata). One in ten, or one in a hundred, so we'd like you to teach us some tips for making automated dolls, depending on what you ask."

And I bowed my head.

"Lord Jin, do me a favor, too. Regardless, I am thinking about thanking you. Please, would you mind consulting me?

Since enthusiasm was felt from Tobias' words and attitude, Jen decided to conditionally accept the story.

"Uh, I can't do this for a long time, if you really just want the trick"

"Of course! We know Lord Jin is busy with a lot of things. I don't mind just one day today."

That much said, I can't even say no as Jen.

"Yeah, I get it. So, just one day today."

"Oh, thank you!

Thus Jen was to teach Tobias and the others as instructors for one day.

Hearing about Jen giving lectures, people came together from other labs, and eventually 51 people were to receive Jen's lectures.

As for Jen, this was the first time he had lectured so many people, and because of his limited time, after all the worries about what to talk about, he decided to do it with the intention of making an in-house presentation.

"Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Jin Nido"

Jen, who went up on the altar, opened his mouth slightly nervously.

Most of the audience knew Jen's face, and no one showed an insulting bareback because he was young.

"Today I'd like to talk about tips for making Automatic Dolls (Automata)"

Ooh, with a low voice, that kind of twitch happened.

"I'll tell you first. The goal is to make your automatic doll (Automata) look like a human, not 'make it look like a human'. And on top of that, we're looking to transcend human beings."

Seeing Reiko next to Jen as his assistant, the audience is all nodding yeah yeah.

"Now let me explain a few tricks to do that."

Everyone embarked on this word.

"First, whatever it is, it looks like. You don't need an explanation for this. But here's one piece of advice. Complete left-right symmetry is too perfect to compromise humanity. The human face is not more symmetrical than I thought."

I rather feel unnatural that it's too neat, Jen explained.

"Next it works, right? There is ambiguity in human behavior. Golem...... advanced golems don't have that. Even if it is slight. It's also far from human."

About a third of them leaned their necks on this explanation.

"Let me show you an example because it may be difficult to understand. Reiko, please."

"Yes, Father."

Reiko advances forward on the stage.

"First of all, it's a 'human' walk."

When Jen said, Reiko walked up the stage from right to left to show it. That is precisely the walk of man himself.

"The next step is a 'golem' walk."

Now let Reiko walk from left to right on the stage. It felt mechanical and cold, albeit in beautiful motion.

"How was it? In a nutshell, human behavior has' ambiguity ', as I said earlier. In other words, it becomes' futile 'and' shaky '."

Once I cut the words and watched the audience react, it seemed that everyone wanted to hear ahead and nodded. Jen's words seem roughly understood.

"'Waste' means, for example, raising your hand horizontally, once you raise it a little too far back. That is, 'going too far'. It's not always the case, but it's something you don't see in the general golem."

Jen felt a response because there were a lot of people nodding about this explanation as well.

"The same thing about 'shaking'. The point is, you can say reproducibility of repetitive behavior. If you repeat the same behavior ten times, it's the golem that makes the exact same ten times, and it's the human that really makes the difference."

Well, the audience heard a sigh and a reaction that didn't even speak.

"Having these 'ambiguities' is indispensable for the production of 'humanity'"

Jen looked out to the audience,

"Do you have any questions so far?

asked. I'm totally on pace.

"One, may I?"

A young female engineer raised her hand.

"Yes, go ahead"

"Yes.... uh, could you tell me how to create that 'ambiguity'"

Jen thought a little about how to answer.

"Right. There are so many ways, isn't it the pleasure of the technologist to create your own 'method'?"

When Jen answered that, the female engineer leaned slightly blush.

"Ha ha... you're right"

"Nevertheless, I plan to explain such issues after this in my lecture"

Not only that female engineer but most of the audience listens to this word.

"If you want to look like a human, you need to know a human."

Jen began his explanation remembering his predecessors and his predecessors father, 'Sage (Magus)' Shuki Tsetzi and his wife, Adriana Tiara, among others.

"Knowing the structure of the human body and making an automatic doll (automata) of a structure close to it. Specifically, the number of joints, the range of motion, etc."

Explain that there should be no joints that humans do not have, or that joints should not bend as much as humans cannot.

Everyone is eager to hear it.

"The structure of these human bodies may well be asked by healers. Sometimes when you make something better, combining technologies from different fields can be unexpected."

Here, Jen decided to start explaining the earlier question as a hint.

"Now let's think about 'behavior' such as the golem. Firstly, 'Stone Golem', the most preliminary golem. Move this... Remind me how you are making the basic 'walk' behavior"

With the exception of some, there seems to be a degree of experience, and most remain staring at Jen.

"Explain it in the most basic demonic (Magi formula) section. It's a leg shaking formula, and the angle you shake out should be a variable."

Those who have made it nod small.

"This variable part determines the stride, but what if the value of the variable wasn't constant?

To this inquiry we all thought 'stride will change' in our minds.

"Even if it's not constant, if it varies from 29 to 31 to 30, the fix should work in the next step"

The well-perceived came here.

"Yes, incorporating these small fluctuations. That is the first step in 'ambiguity'. Nevertheless, if it had always fluctuated just the same… regular fluctuations would no longer be the earliest"

When my computer was still called a microcomputer and it was running in BASIC language. There was a function called random function.

A function that simulates random numbers, a move that uses time for input to get closer to real random numbers was used.

Using methods similar to that, Jen suggested ways to create 'ambiguity'.

"This is just one example. Try it your own way, I think that's the way to the original"

Then Jen continued to explain, and at the end of the day,

"Automatic dolls (automata) are never a hobby. Something to make life with humans rather than replace them in human society. I think that's the automatic doll. Thank you for listening."

Thank you for saying that.

The venue was full of applause.

Thank you, Lord Jin.

And Cesar king of the kingdom of Celluloa labored Jen, who came down from the altar, and shook his hand.
