Magi Craft Meister

50-01 Busy day before the competition

The complex of Jen exists, continental history January 30, 3900.

In the Ars world calendar, it is the last day of January.

Flying objects of various shapes were flying around the skies of 'Onogoro Island' floating at sea in the southern hemisphere.

"Ooh! Nice work!

"Um, is it still a little unstable? Let's see if we can increase the upward angle of the main wing by one degree."

"Not good, I guess. 10% more, I hope I can speed up..."

Equally, the solitaire of those who are piloting it is leaking.

"Mm-hmm. Everybody's great."

I look up and admire Nido Jen of Magic Engineer Magicraft Jazz.

The inhabitants of "Onogoro Island" are called "ancestors" and revered. But Jen himself didn't like the name, and ended up calming down by calling him 'Master Jin'.

And tomorrow is the date of the Model Plane Competition.

So the participants depended on the final adjustment of their respective fuselages.

Because they are all like a clan, it would be nice not to have anything to do with the number of plots to hide or deceive them over this period, Jen, the organizer, thinks.

The final regulation (participation provisions) is as follows:

- Size: the size at which one side enters a 1.5 metre cube.

- Weight: No limit.

- Material: To use the one in "Onogoro Island".

· Propulsion method: Propulsion force shall be generated using a rotating engine and using a screw propeller. It should be noted that whatever the number of institutions.

-Floating method: lifting force shall occur with wings. Direct floating methods using propellers shall be disqualified.

- Airframe Shape: Unlimited.

Maneuvering method: The cockpit type cockpit cockpit designated by Jen shall be used.

Special note: Always use the "auxiliary control mechanism" provided by Jen.

That's it.

Since this is the first time, Jen also thinks there may be a deficiency.

If I have noticed anything during the competition, I plan to add it as appropriate.

During the conceptual phase, we considered one side to be the size of entering a one-meter cube, but when it was small, we combined it with poor visibility from the ground to make it this size.

I thought I'd make it two meters, but then I stopped because it would far exceed Rubina's height (123 cm).

The consideration of using the cockpit type cockpit cockpit designated by Jen, which refers to the last automotive race, makes it difficult to make a difference in the maneuvering method.

Also, be sure to use the "auxiliary control mechanism" provided by Jen. This is also to make the plane fly the way I thought it would, without making a cumbersome posture correction.

The competition is described below.

1. Speed Competition (Fast): Around the prescribed two poles, the ones with shorter time are the top. First place 100 points, second place 80 points, third place 60 points, fourth place 40 points, fifth place 20 points.

2. Speed Competition (Low Speed): Around the prescribed two poles, the ones with a longer time are the top. First place 100 points, second place 80 points, third place 60 points, fourth place 40 points, fifth place 20 points.

It should be noted that it shall be disqualified upon contact with the ground.

3. Bending (pattern): Draw a prescribed flight pattern and compete for its accuracy. * Grading is "Testa," the administrative magic brainchild of "Onogoro Island," out of 100.

4. Bending (Free): Fly freely and rate that act. * Grading is for all audiences, out of 100. (100 for one audience/number of audiences)

5. Race: Round gates circle the course where they are placed and compete for speed. Failure to creep through the gate shall be disqualified. However, I admit to turning back and going back: 100 points in first place, 80 points in second place, 60 points in third place, 40 points in fourth place and 20 points in fifth place.

Besides,

6. Design: Ask all audiences to score looks, gimmicks, performance, etc., out of 100. (100 for one audience/number of audiences)

It is.

The 'island of Onogoro' is surrounded by boundaries and its strength and nature can be adjusted so that it is free from external influences such as wind and rain.

For this reason, the competition was to take place in a windless state, and it was also advantageous not to have to use nerves for extraneous things such as sudden wind control.

Of course Jen also participates as a guest. I mean, I couldn't help but want to join.

What Jen made was a variable wing.

The main wing has a three-layer structure,

At low speeds, those three pieces slide, widening the wing area, reducing wing surface weighting, and increasing lifting force at lower speeds.

At high speeds, the three pieces overlap each other and become retractable wings to produce velocity.

And the propulsion method is a pseudo-jet engine using a ducted fan.

A ducted fan is an engine and propeller installed inside a cylindrical exterior (called a duct or nacelle).

Since the fan (propeller) diameter will be smaller, it will inevitably rotate faster, so it may be more model oriented than the actual machine (efficiency will be reduced if the tip of the propeller exceeds the sound speed).

The engine, which tends to have the most weight, can also be brought near the center of gravity in design, thus also having the advantage of increased maneuverability in the air.

However, there are also disadvantages such as greater resistance at high speeds and higher costs.

The biggest reason Jen hired was because of the emphasis on speed.

Like the jet engine, the injection speed can be increased by squeezing the nozzle on the exhaust side, which leads to an increase in speed.

In propeller propulsion, it cannot fly faster than the wind caused by the propeller, but in the case of ducted fans it will be possible. I picked this one point and adopted a policy of closing my eyes or technically resolving other disadvantages.

It should also be noted that this probably includes Jen's mistake.

The propeller propulsion thrust is not the wind caused by the propeller, but the lifting force of the propeller itself, and the wind is the result.

And ducted fans should be unfavourable at high speeds... but Jen just doesn't realize it because of his own production power.

"Oh, that sounds good"

Sitting in a cockpit-shaped cockpit cockpit, Jen enjoyed the landscape of the actual machine.

On the front, there is a magic projection window (magic screen), which displays the footage sent from the fuselage in real time, so you can enjoy an immersive maneuvering filling.

This time it is also possible to switch to the overlooking video and maneuver it by means of the observational demon-guided surveillance eye (Magic Eye) installed above it.

Thus free-flying until the day before is also to get used to the feeling.

"After all, Master Jin's fuselage is amazing."

In the cockpit next to the right where I placed one, Rubina made a final confirmation… rather than a habitual flight.

Her fuselage has triangular wings, the so-called 'Delta Wings'. It is a fuselage that achieves stability and speed and a high balance between the two sides.

Suitable for high speeds, of course, but also surprisingly low speeds.

In that case, the angle of reception means that the neck is raised significantly with respect to the direction of travel, but the delta wing is fine even with the angle of reception that would stall with normal tapered wings, etc.

It will also be thanks to this that the origami plane can fly unexpectedly slowly. The lightest weight would be best......

The Delta-wing fuselage flies agile and makes it easy to fly the Kirimi (twist) called the Roll.

"Ugh... I knew I'd turn my eyes... and I'm going to be sick of that. … 'Healing (Ferheile)'"

Rubina was only confined to manoeuvring from a passenger's point of view and was also trying to get used to 'drunk' for that reason.

When I get sick, I hang 'Healing (Ferheile)' on myself and practice while I treat it.

"Yeah, yeah, good job, good job."

Natalia is the one flying the 'Trilobe'. It's a design reminiscent of World War I's Focker DR1.

It ensures lifting force at low speeds and aims for high swiveling performance.

It is covered by a high output propeller against the increase in weight and resistance.

Stability at low speeds is now being tested but was very stable.

Other faces have completed enough exams and exercises and are full of fighting spirit for the next day's main battle.

When the venue was ready, Onogoro Island slowly sank into the dark.
