51-05 Hale terrain

"Try this, you're an old star after all"

Jen observes the terrain as he tours Hale in 'Adriana'.

According to this, the terrain of the Hale is generally slippery.

This is due to the idea of geology called 'terrain circle'.

Simply put, sharp rocky mountains stand for protuberance and erosion, when it comes to the earth, Himalayas and Alps are the epic terrain, and what it has weathered, eroded and convex areas have become round and sloppy is called the elderly terrain.

In Japan, the mountains of Kitakami and elsewhere fall into it.

The mountains here in Hale were also rounded by such erosion that it was seen that they would be on their way from the epic terrain to the geriatric terrain.

"... what I see is' Central Basin '...' Mine Area '"

A huge basin spreading around near the equator of the continent. Its centre is a mine that once mined ore.

Nowadays, profitable levels of ore have been dug up and have been abandoned.

It's the middle of a huge continent, so it hardly rains. No flora or fauna can be seen in the basin.

"I hope you have a resource satellite here."

"Yes, Master (My Lord)"

As for Jen, he intended to place and use the resource satellites he had brought from Zipert in this central basin.

Fortunately, since there are few organisms, it is considered that there is not much impact on the ecosystem.

"You can shatter it in some cases."

I don't know what form the satellites are in.

Is it spherical like the moon (unique), or is it irregularly shaped like the satellite of Mars, Phobos and Dymos, the fourth planet in the solar solar system?

"Go and you'll see,"

That was the time to look forward to, Jen.

The onboard time was twelve o'clock, and Jen made it lunch.

Contributions include toast and vegetable soup, bacon eggs, and kuhe.

Jen cheeks bread coated with plenty of marmalade.

"Yeah, it's good"

Staff, including the Grand Sage, were dedicated to keeping meals from being downgraded even on board.

After lunch, we'll be watching Hale again from the central bridge.

"Hmm, that's a remarkable difference between where plants grow and where they don't"

The mining area is surrounded by mountains because it is a basin, with green spreading on the slopes of the mountains outside the basin. More than 70% of the green space is the result of the efforts of the Fores.

Forests are also found everywhere.

"If this is all the greening going on, we'll be fine."

When Jen visited about 400 years ago, there were only a few plants growing resistant to dryness, and I am honestly delighted that the surface had been transformed into a lush earth.

The artifact also looks like a primitive planet, as there is little left on the surface. It's just that Original brought out most of the material when they left this planet.

Slight residues were also weathered and left little trace.

And the last Hale ended his life with an artificial satellite, the Kuna.

"The plants you planted are the plants that were originally in the hale, right?

"Yes, my lord (My Road). I checked with Lord 700672 and Lord Testa of Onogoro Island."

"You did."

There were quite a few preserved in the form of seeds at No. 700672 and Testa's place, so they were used to grow seedlings and plant them in the hall.

Knowledge of No. 700672 and Testa was also said to have been quite helpful with regard to the place of planting.

The information that this plant is such a topography, a weather place, was very helpful.

"Weren't there many animals?

'Yes, my lord (My Lord).' The Originals seemed to have been eliminated, with only a few birds and small animals except livestock '

"Right..."

Bringing such creatures in from Ars was not easy. Because I don't know what negative effects it will have.

"Microbes, too, right?

'Yes, I don't know by what standard' Origin 'went, but from what I've investigated, it's like 70% of the microbes that benefit, 10% of the microbes that harm, 20% of the things that are neither.'

To Jen, who has a shallow knowledge of medicine, I couldn't tell if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

But it was decided that if the Originals lived in that state for a long time, there would be no great harm to them or their offspring at least.

There would be no problem with this closed system called Hale, Jen thought during the flight of 'Adriana'.

In Japan, tuberculosis, smallpox, measles, etc. are becoming infectious diseases of the past, but this time the epidemic is caused by fungi and viruses brought from abroad.

Doesn't it mean that we should eradicate everything because it would be harmful... Jen ran into unanswerable doubts?

It was Reiko's voice that brought Jen back from his thoughts like that.

"Father, just above the basin."

"Oh, well."

A giant basin that was visible in the distance is visible under my eyes.

"That's an amazing view over and over again..."

In Hale, the likelihood or immensity of the terrain is several times greater in scale than on Earth.

Even when I was in modern Japan, Jen didn't really have much to do with travel, so I was surprised when I came to this world.

"I thought I was used to it..."

I have to be surprised at the scale of the hale. Unlike boxyards and georamas, it's about the actual landscape.

I have noticed Jen looking at such a basin.

"Was there a little water buildup?

It was a basin, so the central area was dented, and there were signs that the water was accumulating.

But the water has plunged into the ground, and there is none left.

"I wonder if it stains out of the foot..."

Several rivers flow out of the foothills that cover the perimeter of the basin.

The majority of them would be rainwater that descended on the slopes outside the basin, but a few percent might have mixed water in the basin.

"... it would be bad if the minerals were mixed"

I wish it was filtered as it passes through the ground, but I can't expect it if it's completely water-soluble.

"My lord, it appears that sulphuric acid and its salt have been detected from some of the water."

"Huh?... still?"

There seems to be a place where the aqueous solution of copper sulfate and nickel sulfate is seeping out.

"It looks like it could be used for chemical experiments."

Neglected for chemistry, it is rarely possible to synthesize chemicals such as sulphuric acid, nitric acid and sodium hydroxide.

So much so that I got it from No. 700672 as a reagent.

The rest is so much so that we are getting sodium bicarbonate from some spring water in Kaina village.

However, with copper sulfate, copper plating is possible without using magic, and nickel sulfate plating is possible.

(Looks like you'd be happy to leap up if Saki were here...)

and was Jen, who remembered his old 'family'.

And 'Adriana' flies too far over the basin.

It is in line with the rotation cycle, so the place to be is always around 8am.

Nevertheless, time on board progresses properly.

Jen eats dinner in the dining room and after the meal again looks at the lower boundary at the central bridge.

'Adriana' is about to plug into the western edge of the continent, with a huge bay visible under his eyes.

When it comes to Earth, it is a bay the size of which the Australian continent is likely to enter.

Even in these respects, I want to know the scale of the hale.

"It's a great view..."

Jen, observing under his eyes, sighed small.
